We were up in Kirkland for an event. Our family of 10 with 3 toddlers went to the dough zone restaurant. The food was well prepared and tasty. We ordered beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, pot stickers, pickled cucumbers, onion pancake, spicy won tons, and q-baos. Everyone was stuffed and satisfied. Dome of the dishes were kind of pricey, eg pickled cucumbers for $8.00 each. Basically one small cucumber per order. The kids really liked them though. We were a large party so we had to wait a bit for a table The servers were attentive and courteous. Food came out surprisingly fast Would recommend this restaurant. read more

Simple but good! Prices weren't exorbitant, service was friendly. There was lots of festive decor up which I thought was cute. Easily accessible since it's at Kirkland Urban, which is a plaza with ample parking. Onto the food: none of the food really wowed me. The scallion pancakes were nice and crispy, the soup dumplings were just standard and not as juicy as I would have liked, the dan dan noodles weren't very memorable, and the pan-fried dumplings were a bit too much dough for me. Overall, not sure if I'd choose to return here over other Chinese restaurants in the area, but wouldn't mind going back to try other things! read more

First time at Dough zone Kirkland. The food was served hot, perfect temperature for a cold day. Overall, food tasted good just like how I know it was when I ate years ago. I just noticed servings have gotten smaller maybe a possible tactic to maintain price range still manageable by consumers. Service was good. Servers even asked if we had parking ticket to validate. Service was fine but the food was not it, got the dan dan (so salty and sour, tasted nothing like dan dan), honestly it tasted like they just used the broth from sweet and sour soup. The beef "sandwich" was also so salty I could barely eat it. The wontons and broth were also just salty, no flavor. Big disappointment. read more

Was great. Great spot to go with family. Kids loved it. Staff was wonderful and accommodating of an infant. Food was delightful. Dough Zone is consistently excellent-everything and every visit is always good. Their pan fried steamed dumplings are particularly good, but from soup dumplings to noodles everything we have had there is tasty. It is also a great delivery meal as it tends to keep better than other foods. My issues are not with them bit with the delivery service-increasingly I see them widening the spread between when the food is picked up and when it is delivered (adding as many stops as they can). This means customers don't get the best all the time through no fault of the restaurant. And, these delivery services make it near impossible to leave them reviews. Eating in at Dough Zone is always good-fast, efficient and polite. Great to have them in Kirkland! read more

The bestie and I decided to stop at the Kirkland Dough Zone on our way to Mt. Vernon. The location is nice, not much of a view though. We ordered the 5 spice beef shank, Spicy ma la noodles, Green soy sauce noodles , Pork wontons in chili sauce & Sweet And sour cucumber. We wanted the pan fried dumplings but they were out. I really love that they give you a dish of ginger and you can use the soy sauce, vinegar and chili oil at the table to make your own dipping sauce. The food was fantastic as always. My favorite is the pork dumplings in chili oil. Slightly disappointed that the spicy ma la noodles weren't as spicy and numbing as I was expecting, and the beef was good, but more like beef jerky than I wanted. The service was lackluster. We had to flag down someone more than once to ask for water, the dish with ginger to create your own dipping sauce, and the check. The Issaquah location is still my favorite, but I would come back to this one if I were in Kirkland again. read more

I've always been told that the dough zone is the cheaper version of din tai fung. After trying it out, I think that is a fair analogy. The Xiao long bao were nice and juicy. The pan-fried dumplings had a nice crisp. The noodles nice and chewy. All being average quality food that tasted just fine if you don't have a bougie palate. The server was friendly, and the seating was quickly. We went in the middle of the day, and there was a decent amount of people eating there at the time, but it wasn't crowded. Parking in the garage is very convenient, and the walk-up is short. read more

We came around 5:30pm on a Friday so we easily got a 4-people table for two of us (later we saw more people waiting in line.) The food was delicious and satisfying as usual as you could expect from any other Dough Zone locations. My friend didn't eat pork or beef but pretty much all categories had chicken option so it was good. Clean and new environment. Friendly staff. I always buy the Dough Zone gift cards from Costco before I go so I get extra savings! There is the parking garage that you can have them to validate the parking. read more

The service was on a slow side as they did not take our order for 15 minutes while we sat there and waited on the table. However, food was good and we loved the chicken wontons in hot n sour soup. Cucumber was great, mala noodles were okay and green onion pancake was good too. Worth trying if you are nearby. read more

Solid spot for xiaolongbao! Coming from Vancouver, it's hard not to hold super high standards for Chinese food, but Dough Zone wasn't too shabby at all. I had been warned beforehand that the dumpling skins were a little too thick, but I didn't find that to be the case. The crab and pork xiaolongbao had a respectably thin wrapper and was very juicy. The cucumber dish was also quite nice, but I found the Dan Dan noodles to be a touch too salty. The chili oil wontons were great, though the oil was a bit on the sweet side. I wish they had more Chinese vegetable dishes instead of things like kale and romaine lettuce. The feel is a bit like a fast casual restaurant, and the service is pretty standard for that kind of place. Staff aren't going to go out of their way to be friendly, but they definitely get the job done efficiently and cordially. This place would certainly do if you're craving fairly affordable xiaolongbao in a pinch! read more

Beef Noodle soup was a bit disappointing. There wasn't enough beef in the soup, noodles were cold, and scallions were just thrown in like an afterthought. I've been going to dough zone forever, I'm that annoying person who was going on about how they were never going to FINALLY open in Kirkland... we'll I've been here a bunch and I can tell you... A small and modern dough zone location, conveniently off the main strip headed into downtown Kirkland. There is a parking garage right when you pull into this business complex, which you will have to use to park (street parking is super sparse here). Check in on Yelp to join the virtual waitlist. It's not breaking news that you will have to wait for delicious dumplings, especially with this location being small. You can however enjoy local shops or grab a beer at the brewery next door while you wait. Menu is extensive, though I do wish they had a few more vegetable options. Everything was great, especially the potstickers, soup dumplings, and wonton soup. Broths seemed a little over salted but in all the meal was great and we left warm and full. Also, we fed our family of 5 past our stuffing point and even enjoyed a few beers and the bill was only $100 which seemed more than reasonable for how much we ate. read more

Dough Zone has been popping up in what seems like every major city on the Eastside, but I have no complaints about the expansion. Dumplings are little pockets of happiness and we could all use more of that in our lives! This location had a few tables on the patio and the two of us happened to get a seat in the shade which was perfect. Their menu is one of the nicest I have seen, with clear pictures and descriptive captions of each dish. It's like a photo book! Ordering is super easy as we just jotted down the quantity of each item that we wanted on their paper menu and handed it to our server. After just a few minutes, our food started arriving and completely covered our table. + DAN DAN NOODLES ($6.25): Springy noodles coated in a spicy sauce bursting with spicy and savory umami flavors. The serving is on the smaller end, but good for splitting between two people. It had a good tingly heat, but left a strange aftertaste in the back of my throat. 7/10 + PORK & CRAB XLB (6 for $7.95): I didn't detect much crab but definitely tasted it in the soup as I sipped it from the dumpling. These were delicious and I loved the texture of the soft meat filling in the thin wrapper. For the same price as the regular pork XLB, you might as well choose the crab! 9/10 + SHRIMP & PORK DUMPLINGS (6 for $8.95): A Dough Zone classic that I order every time since they're always consistent and tasty. The pork filling houses a whole shrimp which has a nice snap when you bite into it. So good! 9/10 + KALE SALAD in SESAME DRESSING ($5.95): Great portion for the price. The kale was very tender and lightly coated with the nutty dressing tossed with some shredded carrots and topped with peanuts for a bit of crunch. It tasted quite wholesome and was a nourishing veggie side. 7/10 + FRIED WONTON w/ SWEET SPICY GARLIC SAUCE (6 for $5.95): I didn't care for these. The pork and veggie filling wasn't very flavorful and the sauce was not garlicky... it tasted more like a sweet chili. They had a nice golden fry on the bottom though. 4/10 + SPICY BEEF ROLL ($7.95 each): Meh. Despite this being one of their specials, I found it just okay. The beef was sliced very thinly, on the dry side and wasn't spicy at all (maybe they gave us the non-spicy version). The meat was wrapped with some lettuce inside of a green onion pancake, but it really could have used some kind of sauce. I suggest skipping this roll and ordering the green onion pancake by itself. 5/10 All of this food for $43 before tax and tip is a good deal, especially with the location being in a new modern business center. The service was efficient, friendly and quick, so we had a nice lunch here overall. The menu has really grown since the last time I visited a Dough Zone location a few years ago. I loved being able to try some newer items and refresh my taste buds on a couple of my favorites. read more

Food has changed since its opening. Portions are smaller and the meat seems to have disappeared. The Dandan noodles are just noodles mixed in oil. The xiaolong bao taste similar to those from DinTaiFung, but are not freshly made. The doughzone menu is also very limited. All the food seem to have the same beef meat packaged in different configurations (in broth, in bao, in wraps), with the exception of the dandan noodles, which has nothing but oil and 3-4 specks of green onion and sesame on top. read more

New Dough Zone location much like all the others. Loved the service here though, went above and beyond. Extremely friendly workers and chatty - though it was partly because of our large group. Food here was much more fresh and hot than other spots so definitely had to wait a bit before digging in. Other spots aren't "unfresh" or anything, but you can tell the difference here especially as food is delivered as soon as it's ready. Party of 9 visited and enjoyed everything. As the staff dropped our food off, they happily chatted with us, asked about what we did occupation wise, wanting to join our friend group, wanting to join our table, etc. Loved that energy and their willingness to chat. As we left they jokily said "see you tomorrow" so I definitely wanted to come back, but it was a little out of the way, Ordered the broccoli for the first time ever at Dough Zone as a joke but pleasantly surprised. Nothing spectacular but helped cleanse the palate and make us feel healthier. Steamed well and served with a tasty sauce. I make note of this every time, but the House Specials are where you want to be looking. Sure there's dumplings that you're aware of beforehand including the XLB, but the House Specials are fire. Beef Pancake Roll and Pan Fried Beef Cake are some of the top items at all Dough Zone locations. Filling, tasty, and everything you could wish for. Best bang for your buck while also being more unique items you don't see everywhere. Besides that, the Q Bao is always a hit. Q Bao and Pan Fried Beef Cake are similar but also different at the same time. Q Bao is softer (white bun) with a crisp bottom whereas the Pan Fried Beef Cake is crispy all around. Order everything. Or one item from each section. I don't know what to tell you besides be ready, be hungry, and have fun digging in. Also Dough Zone gets a higher placement over DTF in my books all things considered (value, price, whatnot). read more

Well, quality wise this does not meet the other popular food chain. But given the price point and variety this does give a fair fight I would say. We come here mostly because it is quite cheap and close to our house. There are multiple options for chicken, I just wish they included fried rice and some noodles option. We have tried all their chicken dumpling and I am a big fan of chicken potstickers and Dan Dan noodles. They are super quick in their service and the ambiance is decent :) read more

My first time here. My daughter has been here before and recommended it. This place has good food for the price. We have been to Din Tai Fung several times and the Dough Zone is a good compromise for very similar quality but at a much better price. We shared a variety of plates such as noodles, fried wontons, and several types of dumplings. All were very tasty and our waiter was very patient and helpful with our decisions. Great place to try for some good dumpling type dishes. They have several locations in the Puget Sound area and seem to be expanding into Cali as well. read more

Probably the worst location in the chain and each return visit the quality goes down. I am a loyalty member so I love the chain but not the food at this location. Skip the beef stew noodles. Over cooking noodles, bland booth and generic beef chucks. Q-Baos at other locations have better flavor. And the broccoli is just over cooked. Only reason to still visit is the Xiao long Bao which are better than Dim Tai Fung. The Kirkland location is the only reason to come to this location. Service is okay but basic of basic. Don't expect a water refill until you are ready for the check. read more

This Dough Zone is consistent with the others in the area, meaning the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Ordering on their website is very easy and is usually ready quickly. At this location I usually order the food to-go, which is always packaged better than most restaurants. They also include all the condiments right near the shelf with the food so it's easy to grab whatever you need with your order. Their prices are also much more reasonable than other dumpling places in the area while maintaining their quality of ingredients and great tasting food. read more

Another great outpost of the Dough Zone empire. There seems to be a DTF/DZ competition in Seattle which benefits everyone. This location is in Kirkland in one of the upscale Google/Loft/Restaurant buildings not too far from the 405. Parking is underground and validated with purchase. I joined the Yelp wait list and was seated quickly. The dining room is open and airy which helped on a sunny Sunday. I ordered my classics - chicken wontons in chili sauce and pork & crab XLB. They came out quickly which helped my rumbling stomach. Neither really needed any sauces, but I did like their soy sauce at the table. Both dumplings were great. The pork & crab XLB are a real star with a delicate flavor and good soup base making for a great experience. I have grown to love the wontons in chili sauce. The chicken is rather mild, but still good. I had some Sprite in the can and finished it at the table. Another good stop for Dough Zone in the Seattle area. This one is the furthest north along 405 - at least until they find a place in Lynnwood. Fingers crossed. read more
