We didn't get water upon arrival whereas the table next to us who came after us did. It's a small detail but we weren't too concerned. The kid next to us spilled some chili sauce and the staff member who cleaned it did an excellent job handling the situation including warning us to be careful of not slipping. The garlic chili sauces left much to be desired but this could be a palette preference. I did not taste much garlic in them the way I expected. Food ordered: Garlic pork belli 3/5 It was not what I expected. Boiled pork with garlic sauce on top. The sauce has a good flavor. But not sure it's worth the price. Beef soup: 4/5 It was more on the bland side which for me is no problem but I can see it being a problem for others. Plenty of toppings from veggies and meat. Tastes good with vermicelli. Taiwanese soup: 3/5 My husband wasn't a fan of this dish though it had its moments like the beef and heat. He said the noodles were soggy by the time the broth cooled and would have preferred them to have been added on the side. The broth itself wasn't his favorite palette as it has a more curry/cumin flavor whereas he thought it would be a lighter flavor. It's quite spicy so we'd recommend heating it up quickly and then turning it off to allow ample cool down to eat since the piping hotness can make the dish feel even more spicy. I've been here three times. It's really busy and wait times can be long. You can't reserve ahead of time; you have to show up then reserve and wait. They should really invest in an online reservation system. The inside is very small so they cannot seat that many at a time. It also fees a little cramped inside. When it's busy, the servers take awhile to ask for your order or to start the fire/turn it off. One time we sat with our room temp/cold soups for 10 minutes even though we kept trying to get the server's attention. One of the servers apologized though and said our server didn't speak English. I don't think that's an excuse to ignore us though. The soups are okay. Beef is my favorite. I tried the House Special but the broth tasted "dirty", but I think it's because I didn't realize it comes with pork blood (which I ended up removing anyway). I've also tried the Miso and Korean Bean Paste. They're mediocre. I would rather go to a Japanese or Korean restaurant for those type of soups though. TERRIBLE experience. The staff all kept making mistakes from beginning to end. They're rude and not friendly at all either. The worker that distributed our food, kept giving us the incorrect soup. We were given the incorrect bill, which they had to void and charge us for the correct amount. Throughout the meal, we've asked a server named Xi multiple times for favors such as turning our fires off. Each time he had us wait and then forgets. Xi gave us the worst customer service ever. Not to mention, the first time we asked for a favor, he literally just stood there for a good 5 secs, staring blankly and then telling us to wait and for him to just forget. We pulled up at 11 and the line was already long enough where we had to wait an hour for a table after putting ourselves on the wait list. I loved the selection they had for everything, including beverages. The free tea with lunch also impressed me. However, I was not able to customize my order like I had hoped and although I was satisfied I wish I had the option to make substitutions or was even provided more quantity of the noodle/rice option. We ordered garlic pork but once we got it we didn't realize it would be spicy as we got this for our child but the cool thing was they provided him a small bowl of noodles with broth . If you're looking for a nice hot pot restaurant to eat at, Boiling Point is a good option for you. We got the Korean bean paste soup and it was pretty good. A variety of food was included in the dish and the soup was flavorful. I would say this place is pricy though. In fact, within just one year, I notice a decent charge increase in the meals. Also, a lot of the dishes have peanuts included in the soups, and if you're allergic to nuts such as myself, you are pretty limited. The service here was good. We went during a busy time, but our server was still pretty friendly and helpful with our order. I was impressed how well they handled the customers when the place is literally packed with more customers waiting outside. A small cool thing too is that they give you a small packet of jelly to eat after you pay for your meal. The ambiance here is great. I loved the design of one of the walls that is filled art. The place is nicely decorated with bricks implemented on one side with cool looking lamps. No music was playing but the place was pretty loud with people's conversation. I got delivery from here on a Saturday night and was pretty pleased to try their Hot Beef Soup, Steamed Veggie side, Old Time Delight Milk Tea (80% sugar was still pretty sweet!), and the Milky Soft Herbal Jelly. The boba tea and herbal jelly were classic Taiwanese flavors, and the side of steamed veggies was surprisingly flavorful and delicious. The hot pot itself was alright. Maybe I didn't get the "right" one, but I found it pretty watery and bland for the price; I've certainly had better at HDL. He proceeded to clean up multiple tables and get them set up, so I guess it's possible that he usually doesn't take orders. I Togo their hot pot all the time and never get charged for the sauce and tonight they charged me for the small Togo sauce packages, make it make sense because you can eat in the restaurant and sauce included but when it comes for Togo, on top of asked for tip, they charged for couples small package of sauce. Not even mentioned especially today, the portion is so much smaller compared to couple weeks ago!!! They also forgot to give the green jello. Only thing that they make it fancy for Togo is the utensils now wrapped nicely in new package. My pot came out filled with cabbage on top (peep at pic) which I definitely needed after a long weekend of not having any vegetables. The server started the fire underneath the pot and the action began! Mine was actually the last pot to boil (SAD) as I watched my friends dig into theirs. The food was really good! There was a ton of different seafoods and also beef with a lot of vegetables to balance out the protein. There was an option of either rice or noodles for the starch, and I chose noodles in which I put in the soup myself. Broth was seasoned so well that the dipping sauces were unneeded. BUT the sauces were DELICIOUS. I asked for more sauces when I packed my leftovers hehe. I loved the amount and quality of the food that is prepared here.
