This was another coffee shop stop on my afternoon walk. I saw Bold had good reviews, so I made a detour on my walk to stop by. There is a window bar to sit at, but not much seating outside of that, but it was quiet and pretty empty, so it would be a god place to set up to work or study. Aside from that, I wouldn't say there was anything to write home about. The inside was fine. The staff were fine. I was SUPER excited that their OG PSL was made with real pumpkin, so I had to try it. Usually pumpkin spice lattes just taste like sugar and spice and no pumpkin! Unfortunately, I was not impressed. The latte didn't taste like pumpkin or spice. I'm not sure what the flavor was, but it was not my favorite. If I were in the area, I'd go back to try a regular coffee, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. If you're looking for a quiet place to work or study, this may be a good option. read more

I discovered this coffee bar through social media and the backstory of the couple really resonated with me, so I wanted to support this business for some time. I got the opportunity a couple weeks ago when I was in the Francisville area. It is a nice spot on the busy Ridge road. The inside is inviting and had good food & drink options. I went with a breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese wrap. My beverage was a hot white mocha & caramel coffee. Both items were great. Look forward to patronizing when I'm in the area again. read more

Cute coffee bar in the Francisville neighborhood. We thought to come here for a quick coffee and bite. It's a small shop but does have decent coffee and there are a small selection of brunch/lunch items available. Parking seems to be hit or miss. We came mid morning on a Saturday and it was fairly easy to find street parking. On-site parking is not available. Inside, we ordered at the counter and then sat inside to enjoy our coffee drinks. They do have some seasonal concoctions (pumpkin spice varieties, etc) along with standard options on their regular menu. My wife also ordered a breakfast burrito. The burrito took a bit to be made as they had to make the eggs fresh. The workers were busy but were attentive and did their best to make sure our coffee didn't get cold while we waited on the food. Overall, enjoyed the experience and the coffee. Would likely return for another weekend treat when in the area. read more

We were passing though the area and decided to stop in. The interior is small and cozy. It has a few window high top spots and two tables. All the spots were taken up so we took our drinks to go. We got the brown butter caramel cookie latte (iced) and the matcha latte with a hint of rose syrup (recommended by the cashier) (hot). The brown butter caramel cookie latte was just OK and the matcha latte was basically lightly sweetened milk with a hint of matcha and rose. Not a bad place to stop as there doesnt seem to be many specialty coffee shops in the area, but nothing crazy special about this place. read more

First time at this local coffee shop on Ridge Ave. It was clean and modern. Ordered the Matcha latte and opted for lavender honey for a touch of sweetness which was surprisingly good! The lavender did not overpower the matcha flavor. Had a sip of the Oreo latte and it was also really good. Oreo crumbles in it was great! Thought the latte would be too sweet but it was actually a good blend. Some pastries available. Will try them next time. Few bar seats inside and two small tables outside. Lots of construction outside so might not be the best ambiance but it will be great once the construction is finished with a lot of new construction in the area. Street parking. We love this neighborhood coffee bar! The owners are so kind and welcoming. They source the best of the best for their customers, which is much appreciated! Bold is also a beautiful coffee bar! They have you normal coffees which you can customize to your liking with all their flavored syrups, SF syrups and dairy free options (almond and oat milk). Not to mention a rotating seasonal list of coffee beverages and teas (have yet to find one that I don't like). They even have a normal chai and an allergen friendly chai which is super earthy! They also have a variety of tasty teas that you can make caffeinated if you need a boost without the crash. I've been going to Bold for a few months now and it's easily one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. Their lavender iced oat milk lattes are always delicious and made with care. The bagels are good too! I think they're known for their more creative coffee concoctions which always tempt me, but I get the same thing every time anyway. When the weather is warmer, they have a couple of seats and tables outside and it's nice to drink your coffee and have a snack under the sun. Bacon Egg and Cheese Burrito: I'd been meaning to try their breakfast burritos ever since they started making them and when I finally got one.... IT HAD NO BUSINESS BEING THAT GOOD. They look small and more like a snack, but once you're done you're definitely full. The cheese was nice and melty and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I cannot recommend it more!! read more

Stopped in while in Philly and that was a great choice! This gem is close to the Met and perfect for a quick and delicious bite and some coffee. Their coffee is fantastic and their breakfast was tasty. I'd recommend the sausage egg and cheese burrito! I hope to visit again soon. read more

This place is fantastic and my new regular coffee shop. They do the standards (drip coffee, cappuccino, mocha, chai, etc.) VERY well with consistent quality. They have a large array of signature lattes, as well as, a rotating list of seasonal drinks. So far, I'm yet to have a drink I don't like and have no complaints. The people working behind the bar are welcoming and provide great customer service. I really hope this place makes it through the pandemic because I would hate for a place like this close up shop due to external circumstances. read more

Really cute new coffee place in the neighborhood!! I would say the prices are on par with other coffee shops around here, meaning it's more on the expensive side. I love that they have seasonal drinks, the sweater weather latte is amazing and I think other people agree since everyone ordering at the shop ordered the same thing lol. Favorite coffee shop in the area! Owners are so friendly; you can tell they are passionate about who they are. The coffee is A1 and they always have a seasonal drink that will keep you coming back! They recently introduced breakfast hand food and it couldn't be anymore satisfying. Lovely, little cafe by temple university. It's a great study spot with wonderful music and fantastic baristas. They are attentive, super sweet, and make delicious drinks. I ordered a mystic mint which included the aromatic taste of a lesser known herb showing their knowledge and dedication to not only great coffee but also tea. Additionally, the cheese danish was delicious, warm, and just the right amount of sweet! I will definitely be coming back!! read more

I always feel nervous/can't justify ordering coffee through uber eats because its so expensive but this was the best coffee I've had in quite some time! And it came 10 minutes earlier than expected! 10/10! The breakfast sandwhich, while simple, was prepared to perfection. The bacon was hearty and cooked well, alongside the eggs, while the bread was toasted and buttered to perfection.....and that's coming from someone who doesn't eat bread. I work on ridge Avenue so I'm always driving past this little cute coffee shop. I usually go to dunkin but I was running late to work so I decided to try this place out. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Chic, clean, and overall great customer service. I got a French vanilla hot coffee with cream and sugar. this is my new favorite spot for flavored coffee drinks in the city. i am constantly in search of floral flavored coffee & their lavender honey latte is the best. the baristas (possibly also owners? i'm shy but eavesdrop on my husbands small talk) are also so sweet and friendly, and will go out of their way to make sure your drink is perfect. this morning i had to insist on taking my delicious drink, because they weren't positive it was perfect cold brew and simple drinks and pastries here are all great too. lots of vegan options and variety :) strongly recommend !!!! read more

When I walk my dog in fairmount and I see someone with a cup of coffee that doesn't say "Bold" on it, ... i feel bad for them. Bold is a staple of the community. The owners are really cool, and they make a great little cup of coffee. The staff is friendly, The cold brew is good if you like something straight forward, The lattes are great too for those who like it lighter. I'm not normally one for flavored/sweet coffee drinks, but get an iced latte with their cinnamon, vanilla, and maple with oat milk (it was on their fall latte menu called "Sweater Weather") and thank me later. The baristas are nice and they truly care about getting your order right! The space is immaculate and cute adding a vibrant touch to Francisville. read more

I had two iced lattes during my stay and the service was quick. I also was able to get soy milk which is my preference but it is not as common as nut milk-alternatives. Although technically not a part of the cafe, the fact that it's located inside the hotel means there's lots of comfortable seating available around the lobby. Rght across from the cafe there's a fantastic lounge area with a pool table and a collection of books. I don't think anyone would use the books in the library and they're mostly decorative, but I did think it was cute. The menu is adorable - it's a giant scroll on the wall and had some Philly-themed artwork. I would go back just to see if they change up the artwork.

We got the Dankaroo soft serve (vanilla and cinnamon swirl dunked in cookies and cream coating). The coating was very sweet, but the soft serve itself was not too sweet and a very nice texture. The texture was a bit more icy than traditional soft serve (which I prefer). The shop is very casual and does not offer any seating that I saw. Maybe they offer seating at an earlier hour, but not when we went.
