I cannot say enough good things about this place! It is quite possibly everything I could want in a brewpub! To start, parking is free and plentiful. It is a little confusing getting there at first, but just follow the signs. Googlemaps took me to the front of the building, but you will need to go around the back near "F" for Bold Monk's parking. I believe you can park on the street, too. You can tell you've found the entrance when you come across a set of gorgeous wooden doors. The inside space is absolutely STUNNING and and the place leaves no detail spared. Beautiful wood furniture and lush rugs all over, you can't help but feel like you're in a church or somewhere faintly European. I love how they didn't just do the whole "we're in a warehouse and we brew beer and you're gonna be surrounded by barrels and kegs" decor. It would be a great place for an event because it exudes such an atmosphere. The place is also huge and has several rooms, an upstairs loft, and outside tables. Be sure to do a full walk through of the place, especially the upstairs. My friend and I got a table and ordered beers. They were out of my first pick and several others, but it was Friday night. Our server was Lane (?) and she was awesome! I tried the Belgian Tripel and it was delicious and very drinkable. Foodwise, we ordered the brussels, chorizo mussels, and duck frites, all to share. The portions were great and it was a feast for 2 people. All of the dishes had incredible depth of flavor and we were really impressed. The brussels were crispy yet drizzled with some sort of honey glaze that had a bit of a kick. The duck frites were kind of like a duck poutine. The frites were thicc and had gravy and cheese curds. The duck was super tender and cooked perfectly. The mussels blew me away though. The broth had huge pieces of chorizo that added so much flavor and richness. It was a flavor combo I never knew I needed until now. Do not skip out on the chorizo mussels! We had intentions of getting the Belgian waffle for dessert, but were sadly too full. I can already tell this is gonna be an immensely popular spot once the weather gets warmer. Great food, great beer, and great vibes. What's not to love? read more

Great when they opened a couple of years ago. Is worse every time I return. What a beautiful brew pub. A ton of money has gone into this place, but it has been going down hill since shortly after it opened when COVID hit. Here I am on Super Bowl Sunday, and the place is less than 1/3 occupied. The bartender apologized for not having amaretto for a Manhattan - even though a Manhattan never called for amaretto. Couldn't make it anyway since they have no regular bitters in either bar. No Grey Goose for a cosmo. Tito's or Kettle is the best money can buy here. No service at our tables tonight. Self serve at the bar. On Superbowl Sunday. Really. This was a semi-gourmet trendy gastro pub when it opened. It once had top. Talent service. Now it's a joke and the service is worse. What a shame. We love coming here for drinks and food!! We love coming for brunch too, but this time we came for lunch on a Sunday. All of the beers were great, and so was the food. The bitterballen was very good and we loved the beet sauce. The wings were also great and super flavorful. I've gotten the ham and cheese before, and it never disappoints. Same with the burger- it is SO good!! We also tried the Richard's chicken sandwich, and I got the sauce on the side which the waitress recommended- which I truly appreciate since it was SPICY! Bold monk brewing had great ambience. Great rustic farmhouse decorations with cool and chill energy. Customer service was great. Managers came by to greet and thank customers for coming by and show support. The drinks were tasty. I prefer lagers and Belgians versus IPS. I enjoyed both the chant lager and the walk on water Belgian. Both were crisp and refreshing. Simply well brewed, not watered down. Prices for drinks were reasonable. Tried their fries and hummus. I've been to this place twice now, but let me take a step back. Though my profile on Yelp may not show it, my husband and I are mega brewery hoppers. Like... we've probably hit more than 90% of the breweries in all NC and go to breweries wherever we travel. As such, we are regularly asked what our favorite brewery is. Hands down, I can say Bold Monk is top 3... maybe even #1. The only part I dislike is not being able to bring my brew dog in with me, but that's what happens when you serve food. Look, this place has the vibe, it's got solid beer, great food, a wonderful brunch. I mean, WHAT A COOL SPACE. Honestly. The building alone is worth the visit, even if you don't drink beer or eat food. It can be busy, but my in-laws live somewhat close and they've never had a bad experience when they go. read more

Went to check out Bold Monk after dinner for a drink after hearing all of the positive reviews of this place - it didn't disappoint! The vibe was awesome and the beer was solid. The downstairs area was slammed with people eating dinner so we went upstairs to the bar area and there was tons of space to find a spot and enjoy our drink. My book group met up here to discuss our latest read and had some dinner. I was blown away by the food here! I got the Yellowfin Tuna salad and it was amazing. We also shared the frites with curry & truffle sauce, and the hummus plate. I got an IPA that I enjoyed as recommended by the server. I took one star off because we ate outside and at some point got forgotten by the staff. We had to go inside a few times to ask for the bill. Always nice to find another brewery in the ATL. Was actually visiting another brewery a couple miles away and asked if there was some good food nearby. The bartenders recommended Bold Monk, so I decided to try it out. Sat at the bar and was served quickly. Bartenders were floating and friendly. Had a really nice German style beer, think it was a Doppelbock. Also tried a double IPA, which was pretty outstanding. Bartender directed me to a hot chicken sandwich. It was quite tasty. Great new upscale brewpub! I went with friends and our toddlers this past Sunday. They had just obtained their liquor license and were newly opened. What a great new space! The dining area is unique with multiple seating options and the food is delicious. My favorite was the Thai chili sausage pizza. Make sure you visit the upstairs area before you leave. This is a great entertainment space for watching sports or hanging out with friends. I can't wait for the beer garden (coming soon!). read more

Bold Monk Brewing is a welcomed brewpub in this area that is growing like crazy with breweries, restaurants and other new developments. We were so excited to check it out after only being opened a short while. Such a cool, big space and the staff was all extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a *fancier* brewpub but luckily they have a few tvs at their downstairs bar and a large pull down screen tv upstairs for us who like to watch sports while drinking beer :) There were a few quirks but I really think after they have been opened for longer and work out the kinks it will be a fabulous experience all around! BEER/COCKTAILS - There was a group of 5 of us so we tried a good amount of the beers they brewed, a few guest taps and cocktails. All were really good! I am not a huge fan of German-style beer but really enjoyed their IPA and tastes of my boyfriends cocktails. FOOD - We started with the wings, mezze and frites. Our group was split on who liked the wings and mezze and who didn't. It all came down for preference on what kind of flavors we liked and they aren't traditional dishes by any means! The frites and the sauces were excellent! For entrees we had the 1836 pizza which was pretty good, the chicken over sweet potato which was delicious, the meatballs which were good but the grits underneath them was better and a little gem salad which was a good basic salad. QUIRKS - There was confusion on the "community tables" in the bar area and if you needed to be seated there or if anyone could sit there. The bartender said they were open but the hostess said "not tonight". Maybe it's a weekend thing? We wanted to try a flight of beers after seeing another table order some but were told they don't do flights on weekends. Strange rule but would be ok with it had other people not had flights. Lastly, they don't allow food upstairs. We had great seats upstairs with the pull down screen watching NFL playoffs and would have LOVED to be sharing an appetizer or two. A terrific Belgian-style brewery in Atlanta's booming Westside neighborhood, Bold Monk serves up classic Dubbels, Tripels and Witbiers, along with tasty IPAs and Lagers, in a gorgeous space that's even better than the beer. On a recent visit, I dove into a flight that included their crisp Chant Lager, a seasonal Oktoberfest and the decent (if underwhelming) Attainment Double IPA. But the best brews here are the Belgians -- don't leave without diving into a delicious Discipline Dubble or Walk on Water Wit. The food at Bold Monk is also pretty solid -- from Fried Chicken sandwiches and seafood to burgers to pizza, this is a great spot to meet friends for everything from drinks and appetizers at the bar, to a sit-down dinner in the adjacent dining room. The massive space features a modern, upscale design, and the second-floor reading room is filled with bookshelves and comfortable couches that invite guests to settle in and stay for a while. And don't miss the cool Biergarten across the bridge from the Taproom -- it's a fabulous spot for enjoying some tasty brews on a cool autumn afternoon. This place is absolute ass. Went on a Friday with a group of friends and had a miserable time. Everywhere is short staffed these days, so I am pretty lenient about staff responsiveness, but this guy was definitely the worst server I've ever had. Brought us water with no cups (had to snatch cups off another table ourselves), mixed up everyone's drink order, and forgot so many things. One of my friends never even got his food! He just brought the checks, but we'd been sitting there for 2 hours at that point we just decided to stop somewhere else on the way home. So after the worst service of my life we walked outside and saw that our car had been broken into (along with another in the parking lot). After talking to a few people, this is apparently a weekly occurrence. We went inside to try and talk to the staff and they told us it happens literally every weekend, and that none of them felt safe parking their cars at the place they worked. Overall score 2/10 because the food, for those that got it, was pretty good, but my god this place sucks. read more

This is a cute brewery located on the westside! There's ample seating inside as well as an outdoor space. It was pretty cool out the day that I went and so the outdoor area was empty- I did not see any outdoor heating. I got the Westside Flight first because I had a hard time choosing what beer I wanted and I was not disappointed. Westside Flight Beers ranked from best to worst: 1. Festbier 2. Shared Spirit IPA 3. Testament IPA 4. Attainment DIPA I personally tend to prefer lighter beers. I also tried the Walk on Witbier which was refreshing and right up my alley! read more

Positives: What an amazing and interesting place! Large amount of acerage for a brewery. Outside beer garden. Be sure to sit in the sunken dining booth area if you don't like noise. They have a bookstore and a fine lounge for relaxing. Ceasar salad with shredded chicken was delicious. Negatives: Very very loud in main dining room at bar. Belgian fries were disappointing. Didn't see or taste anything Belgian about them except the European sauces. Brisket in the Bitterballen was barely discernible. The vibe inside is pretty noisy and festive with a bar in the center and TVs blasting the latest sports game but it's a great place to meet up with friends. I didn't expect a bar to have decent food but I got the brussel sprouts and I think that was the best bowl of brussel sprouts I've ever had (it also had bacon in it). Made a reservation to sit down and have dinner with a small group. Finally got sat 45 minutes late, while group after group was walked in and sat right in front of us. No one at the front seemed to really know what was going on. Once seated we had to eventually get up and chase someone down to even get some water, and place drink orders, after 15 minutes of no one coming over to the table. We're all beyond starving, and honestly fed up at this point. Food finally comes out...except my dish; 5 minutes goes by, the table is eating, 10 minutes goes by, finally have to physically get up again and track our server down to find out what is going on. I get it, sometimes you get in the weeds and things get a little bumpy; been there, but you guys... The food WAS very good though. Props to the back of house, everything was cooked perfectly, the flavors were fantastic and portions were massive. Skip the cocktails though, and stick to the main act; their incredible hoppy, malty offerings. The drinks were made with cheap liquor, and all were overly sweet -and, for some reason- all came with ice cubes, even the boozy classics. Service - 0 Food - 4 Your mileage may vary. read more

This brewery is fantastic. Not only does it sport some killer brews (check out their flights for sure) but the food is also pretty amazing. I had hands down the best stateside poutine there and crave more. Beyond the tasty food and drinks, the location and atmosphere is killer. Located right close to the Chattahoochee Food Works, this area is beautiful and the interior has a nice mix of wood and stone and kind of feels a bit like an old castle in some spots. There's also a great looking outside area, but I didn't get to check it out on account of some unfortunate rain. The only thing that would make this place all the better is maybe a few more brew options for lighter ales, but that's only a minor complaint. read more

Preface: I never write Yelp reviews. Our experience was so bad, it's necessary to warn others. I reached out to the business owner a few days ago in hopes that they would make it right. I haven't received a response. We were really looking forward to visiting Bold Monk and sitting in the beer garden with our dogs. When we arrived, the hostess was incredibly unhelpful. We asked if the tables out back were first come first serve. She said yes, but that it would be an enormously long wait and to not even try. Didn't ask to take our name for a waitlist or provide direction of any kind to help us. We thought fine...one grumpy person. No big deal. We walked to the back...several tables were available. This is where we encountered the second incredibly unhelpful person. We asked a waitress if we could sit at any of the NO RESERVATION outdoor tables. She looked at as like we had three heads and smugly said "did someone tell you that you could sit out here?" She directed us to a handful of EMPTY tables and warned that it was self-service only and that it could take hours to get our order. No problem for us--but truly it felt like the staff are trained to persuade you to go home instead of trying to order drinks/food! But it gets worse! We persevere by sitting at a table that we deduce is allowed by the brewery's set of incomprehensible seating rules. We go inside to order...where they tell us they can't allow full menu ordering where we are seated. A little weird but okay. They tell us we need to make an online to-go order...to then pick up and take it to our outdoor table. Sure, sounds good. Then...they LOST our online order. What is going on here?!? They didn't offer to comp anything for the immense amount of mess ups. By this point we were starving. Waited about 45 minutes for them to prepare our order again. The brewery was moderately busy, yet every person we encountered acted like a sullen teenager angry at us for wanting to give them our business. I almost thought we were on some sort of candid camera show where the staff members were challenged to see how fast they could get us to leave by being as inhospitable as possible. Since our visit, I've read other reviews on Yelp echoing these exact sentiments. So clearly this business hasn't done anything to remedy these issues. I would have never believed it until I experienced it myself. read more

I celebrated my birthday here recently and it was a great experience. It was a bit challenging to contact them to figure out how to reserve for a bigger group (about 15 people), but when my sister went there in person they were helpful in figuring it out. They had prepared a large table for us outside and allowed us to set up balloons and some decorations which was nice. It was a dog friendly patio area, so our pup was able to join the celebrations. The food was well prepared and the service not too intrusive. People ordered drinks and they were able to easily split checks and open tabs. Very solid brewery. The food was above average as well. I had the knockworst sandwich and the West Side Flight. The interior itself is definitely elevated compared to most breweries. It seems to have a great event space as there were two separate events going on in different parts of the brewery while we were there. The flight that I had was good but it is fairly standard as far craft beer goes. Very solid but not anything that stood out. To be fair they specialize in the Belgian style beers and that isn't what I ordered nor is it my cup of tea. I definitely don't think you will be disappointed if you come here l. Wanted to visit this place for some time, and finally was able to over the Labor Day weekend. Its a great new brewery and restaurant spot in the Chattahoochee complex over at Westside. The brewery has a mix of sit down tables with table service, as well as some open seating, self served spots both inside as well as outside. They have some tables right by the entrance and some on an outdoor patio section thats actually the beer garden. The patio is beautiful and the indoor sections are very tastefully decorated - ample seating space and not very loud. The beer is great and the food's delicious! However, when we visited, they were really short staffed and backed up. read more
