my parents were interested in trying indian food for their first time, and this was a great restaurant for both them and my husband who was looking for a lot of flavor and spice. we started with the vegetarian and lamb samosas, shami kabab, and lal mirch jinga (shrimp). the samosas had a great crusty pastry and the filling on both was moist and flavorful. i loved the shrimp, chargrilled with an interesting spice rub. the kabab was a little dry and dense for my taste. i enjoyed the three tasting sauces that were served, but may have liked some direction on which ones paired best with the appetizers. we decided to split the chicken tikki masala, lamb vindaloo, and chicken mussalam. all three were delicious, and the chicken mussalam was a surprise hit for my dad. the vindaloo sauce was appropriately spicy, and all three also had big chunks of meat and plenty of sauce. the naan was fresh and flavorful and we finished two portions. we also tried the badami kheer (rice pudding) and kulfi (ice cream) for dessert. the kulfi was my favorite, and was a thicker, slightly sweet ice cream that was very refreshing. the rice pudding had a great milky flavor, but the texture was a little runnier than i would have preferred. read more

The naan(bread) and tandoori items are absolutely delicious. But the biryani was dripping with oil. Though tasty, Couldn't have more than a few spoons. The decor is interesting, and even the menu items were named after Bollywood industry. Not sure how people unfamiliar with Bollywood would understand though. Bollywood Grill is AWESOME. I absolutely love Indian food. I only have it a few times per year because it is so rich and decadent. This place is definately worth a visit. The food is always fresh and delicious. I've never had a bad meal here. The service is friendly and not in your face. Do not be fooled by the location: I am a bit of a food snob and I appreciate ambiance so it's location in a strip mall is not the best. However the interior is very classy and approprietly "Bollywood" themed, adorned with images of famous Indian actors and actresses, comfortable and private seating, and a view of the kitchen as they work thier magic from behind glass. Average Indian restaurant. The gravies were below average. The slum dog naan was good. We had Achari panir ( that's how they spell it ) , malai koftha , slumdog naan, latcha paratha, lassi . I grew up in London and was surrounded by exceptional Indian restaurants. The food at the Bollywood Grill is as good as any of them. The Lamb Korma is spectacularly good. The service is attentive without being intrusive, and they will let you sit with an empty plate in front of you without feeling that they have to rush in and scoop it up. Unfortunately we did not have the best dining experience at this restaurant. Considering the fact that we were paying for the service (its called Fine Indian dining) ; the servers didn't attend to us, despite being the only other customers. The food was alright but overpriced. The naan was freshly made and about the only highlight of the meal. We finished our entrees and waited for 10 minutes. I requested a server to bring our check but he ignored us, so we walked up to the counter to pay while he and a female server giggled and flirted behind us. It is possible that they were just done with day, being the ramadan month, they might have been fasting or something... whatever the reason..we had the worst meal in a long time and paid big bucks as well as a tip for it... Not recommended..they need a new staff to do better than this, cause the food was not too bad! read more

Also LOVE chicken marsala, chicken saag, and mango lassi (this is a drink). Hope they stay around! Wow, this was very good food! We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Shrimp Mango Jalfrezie for an entree and boy oh boy were they delicious! Compliments to the chef! Then we ordered the Gulab Jamun for dessert, I've never heard of it but man are they yummy, these little dough balls in a sweet syrupy sauce! We ordered for delivery and they were on time. My only negative was that it was difficult to order on the phone due to the language barrier, but my order taker was very kind nonetheless. Also a little bit pricey for the quantity. We are regulars. This place is consistently good. We almost always go for Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Saag, with garlic naan. We start with any appetizer so we can get all the scrumptious relishes. We can get a decent bottle of red wine too. Last Christmas we took my parents and ordered lots of stuff for sampling, they really enjoyed. Always clean and friendly. We'll keep coming back; for North Andover this is a treat. We were accustomed to Arlington and Cambridge Indian destinations, but nowadays we can skip the drive and go to Bollywood and be quite satisfied. read more

The Bollywood Grill is awesome. The food is great and the atmosphere is fun. Photos of Bollywood stars adorn the walls and you get your water in spiffy metal goblets. My only complaint is that the prices are a bit steep. However, with the lack of Indian restaurants this far away from Boston, Bollywood is still worth a visit. read more

I went to Bollywood Grill this past week and wanted to jump on Yelp to write a rave review! The food was authentic and very, very good. The waiter was nice and helped us decide what to order, although, was a little slow as the place got busier. The environment is a bit fun, but mildly cheesy with the Bollywood theme. As other posters point out, it's in a strip mall with a TJ Maxx, a Market Basket and a liquor store, how much more New England can you get? But go in and you'll find exquisite, freshly made Indian food prepared at a glassed-in cooking area at the back of the restaurant. I've always enjoyed the saag and the poori bread. Sothy likes the meat samosas which are handmade and crispy. Go for it! read more

I went here recently for the first time with friends and I LOVED it. The atmosphere is really classy, yet comfortable. The service was GREAT! The selection on the menu was vast and the food delish. I can't think of one aspect that I didn't love about this place. I got the mango lassi to drink and it was awesome. This is a strictly buffet review, i went here once for dinner and was just not at all happy (tiny portions, and i felt like i was paying way too much). Every time i get a chance to go here for the buffet i do. This place is like an oasis in a hangover situation if you ask me. The service can be a little slow, but it's a buffet what do you expect, and anyway the guys are really friendly so they're probably just entertaining somebody at the moment, chill you'll get your chance. Everything they make is great, and it seems like they switch things up a pretty decent amount, i love the rice pudding. Weekday buffet is cheaper and real affordable, weekend buffet is still affordable but not as awesome a deal. read more

Went there today 2/23/17 with a co worker ...food was good .. not bad ... but the service was absolutely atrocious ... we did go for the lunch buffet .. they sat us poured water and left .. the whole lunch time rather than waiting on customers and getting drinks they were playing with the tv remote controls to pick music from you tube on there smart tv .... and when he wasn't doing that he was playing and texting on his cell phone in the middle of the restaurant... my co worker had to get up and go over and ask him for more water ... and he did the same thing to like 3-4 tables not just us ..... like I said the food wasn't bad but it's Indian and hot so when you need a drink you really need a drink. To us this was just very very rude behavior so I only tipped 15% which I normally do a lot more and I wrote a note on the check ... All Indian restaurants taste pretty close and serve the same food so we will NEVER EVER go back to his place again .... The waiter ruined this place for us ... read more

Don't underestimate this restaurant because of its shopping mall location. I finally tried it and know what I've been missing all these years! The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. I recommend the chicken Biryani that had just the right amount of spice. I split the meal with my daughter and still had plenty leftover. I also recommend the peshawari nan which had just the right amount of sweet to compliment our meal. I have been to this restaurant twice now with my two young kids, and have had an excellent experience both times. For one, the food is delicious. Great selection, great flavors, nothing to complain about here. The portions seem small at first, but we have never walked out of the restaurant feeling anything but stuffed and happy. The service has been the real standout, however. Not only have the servers been courteous and attentive to the adult members of our family on both occasions, but they have been especially kind to my little ones. Instead of being concerned with the mess my 18 month old made, they brought more napkins without having to be asked, and smiled and waved at him throughout our meal. Also, they noticed how much my 3 year old was enjoying the Bollywood music videos, and tried to choose ones suitable for her. Finally, seeing how much both kids enjoyed their mango lassis, they brought them each a little to go cup with more lassi as we were packing up to go, free of charge. Well done Bollywood Grill--it's refreshing to find a truly family-friendly restaurant with really good food. We will definitely be back again! read more
