    Iced vanilla latte with oatmilk
    Maria D.

Ehhhhhhhh. Service was borderline rude and dry. I came here for a quick coffee and treat, but was rushed by staff, so I didn't get to ask about their bakery items. The latte was bland, and the espresso wasn't strong enough for my taste. It also ended up being close to $9!!!!! Had service been a little more friendly, I'd maybe give them a second chance......

Out of town and needed some fuel after our hike... Great food and service in a cute little cafe spot!

Baked goods that is hard to pass up

I was on my way to a familiar spot when something across the street caught my attention--a Pride flag and the name Bolt. Naturally, I was intrigued. With a name like that and rainbow colors flying, I thought maybe I had stumbled onto a new gay-owned or gay-centric café. Sorry to disappoint, fellow gays--Bolt isn't a queer space, but from what I could tell, it's definitely gay-friendly. It was early afternoon, and I was pleased to see they serve breakfast all day--always a win in my book. I ordered a breakfast burrito, then went to find a seat. That's where things got a little...different. Inside, every table was taken--not with diners chatting or enjoying food, but with people locked into laptops, sitting quietly along the walls or in booths. The vibe was less brunch-with-friends and more solo-study-session. Think library silence, not café buzz. So much for striking up light conversation over coffee. There are two outdoor seating areas--a sidewalk setup in front and a small patio in the back. I chose the sidewalk. Even outside, laptops were out and silence reigned. I ate in quiet company. The breakfast burrito itself had a nice twist: some green peppers added a pop of flavor. Not jalapeños, just something milder with a touch of brightness. It wasn't groundbreaking, but it was satisfying. After I finished, I couldn't resist grabbing a few baked goods to go--a little reward for enduring the ultra-serene atmosphere. Bottom line: Bolt in Hollywood is a clean, calm, and laptop-loving café with solid food and an all-day breakfast menu. It's gay-friendly but not a gay hangout. If you're looking for a lively spot to socialize over brunch, this probably isn't it. But if you want a quiet place to eat, work, or people-watch in silence--Bolt has a place for you.

    Breakfast Burrito, muffin and coffee
    Persis R.

Pleasantly surprised by the experience. Woke up on the wrong side of the couch and was going nuts from all the noise in the house. I escaped to Bolt and got a really good breakfast burrito with sausage. also got an apple muffin which tasted good with a coffee. Coffee was descent. Flavor was kinda unique. Service was nice. Good people working inside. Calm and relaxed atmosphere. I took a seat outside and caught the sights, sounds and smells of Hollywood. A man walked up to me and asked for $5.... Would recommend for breakfast burrito fans.

Spacious chill interior with a solid food menu. The breakfast burrito was $10 and absolutely loaded, they also added beans for free. The outdoor patio is gorgeous and the employees will bring it out there for you.

    Uncooked potatoes

I'll be back to finish this BUT until then...zoom in on these hashBROWNS... more like hashWHITES... I then asked for their roasted potatoes and that's the second plate of potatoes, lacking any sort of color.., everyone knows potatoes when cooked properly have hues of brown, not saying this place has an issue with COLOR but something ain't RIGHT! P.S. they made an attempt to make it right, but the energy was not authentic and as Maya Angelou would say people don't remember what you say but more so how you made them feel and it was a lackluster experience at Bolt!

    $40 total

The food was good but I felt it was overpriced. I ordered a kale cesar salad, avocado toast, and a grapefruit juice and paid $40! The salad: it was on the menu as a "kale Cesar salad with chicken for $13.99. I asked them to remove the chicken. When I got the salad it was kale, walnuts, and quinoa tossed in vinaigrette. Not a Cesar salad at all! The toast: for $13.99 I expected a lot more that literal avocado on toast... my friend ordered a sandwich that had the same bread, avocado, chicken, bacon, and a side salad. Her total was $15.99. How is my avocado toast with only 2 ingredients priced that way?? The juice: nice and fresh. I would eat here for their sandwiches... that's about it.

    Chocolate chip potato chip cookie

I stopped in for coffee, lunch, and WiFi on a recent trip to Thai Town. I was happy to find a queer-owned space to visit during Pride Month. The space was well-populated without being crowded or too loud. The staff were friendly, and my order came out quickly. I enjoyed my iced coffee, and the rosemary chicken sandwich was tasty. The chocolate chip potato chip cookie was delicious. It's thick, more cake-like, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who prefer a crispy cookie.

Great local spot for breakfast. The breakfast burger and brisket tacos were amazing and the coffee hit the spot. The staff were super nice and even hooked our daughter up with her own single order of pancakes. Enjoyed a great family breakfast on the patio. Will definitely be back!

Is Bolt the little cafe that used to right near the Gower onramp to the 101 north? Freeway Cafe or OnRamp Cafe, something like that.

No it isn't, I don't know what cafe that is but it isn't Bolt

    How much are the T-shirts'?

    I should've asked because I am a t-shirt junkie. Usually these coffee house t-shirts range from $15 to $25

Is the wifi password protected? Are there enough outlets for you to plug in and work?

    Yes, yes

Are you connected in any way with Bolt Coffee in Providence, RI?

No I'm not. I didn't even see Bolt, the cartoon film. The whole Bolt scene generally bores me, to be honest. I don't mess with Bolters, they don't mess with me.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

We could understand that it was busy but the waitress never apologized or said anything like they were understaffed or anything. Also, we had a few questions about the menu and our drinks and the waitress would just say, "I think so?" or give a vague answer. She didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu at all. Maybe she was new, but clearly training was lacking. I don't think I'll be returning but since I see many reviews relating to service issues, hopefully management is able to address the deficit
