It's like they stole my music playlist the vibes were so on point, such a cute and perfect light brunch spot in Hollywood. The staff must get lots of steps in going up the stairs to the second floor delivering food and clearing tables. It's perfect for two people but I wouldn't recommend groups. You'll need to do better though I won't be back to see it.... Been driving by several times and was excited to try a new place, especially given the name. We also looked at the menu on-line. So today was the day. Food: Latte was good. Pretty. Not particularly special. Chicken bowl was very mediocre.... Sandwich was same. The kicker: Our food was delivered to the wrong table and put down in front of the guests. They had questions and the waiter put the plates on the table next to those guests while he went to go check. It was our food so he brought out over and put out on our table. All of this in front of us. We didn't send it back and the other guests didn't have runny noses or anything, but this is a hard no to me. Really? Stopped by randomly. Very cute cafe. There's a second level you can sit at. Came on a Saturday morning and it was pretty empty. I got the two eggs and baguette which were very good. They also have hot sauce available. The service was nice enough to accommodate what we wanted. I'd love to come back to try one of their lattes and other menu items like their breakfast burrito. read more

Such a friendly barista! I popped in for a mid-morning tea today and am happy I did! Such a delightful cuppa! There were maybe two tables of people seated, and he was making veverages when I arrived. I was able to order in just a few quick minutes, and the barista was really just so personable and friendly! When you can tell that people love their job, it makes it all the more special. This is on the Hollywood strip, and is on. It really is beautiful inside and trendy. We came in in the afternoon and it was a bit dirty, but maybe the staff had a busy morning and couldn't get to the tables. The dirty chai latte was great, very strong. If I come back to Hollywood I may not come back here, but it is worth a chance. read more

I found this place when I was in need to get work done in a cafe setting. This place felt smaller than the photos made it seem, but there was ample seating on the first floor and plenty of outlets to plug in and charge your devices. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and chai latte. The chicken pesto was pretty good, but it was just missing one thing: the bread was not toasted. The chai latte was okay, it might've been my fault for requesting it 50% sweet (you modify it, it's your recipe now lol). It was a great place to get some work done! If you wanted to stop in during Hollywood tour or you want to somewhere to work of study, this is near the walk of stars. They don't have parking but they have wifi and plenty of seating. The outlets are only downstairs. It gives me Parisian vibes. The staff is super friendly. I notice her asking how's everyone day is and complimenting peoples hair. We're back! Float has become one of our favorites when coming to Pantages in LA. Just as before, we were quickly greeted with smiles and helpful staff. The side sales are a great blend of fresh shredded lettuce, carrots, red cabbage topped with the just the right amount of vinaigrette. All sandwiches are on toasted ciabatta. This time we went with the rosemary chicken (so damn good!) and Picnic. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is very clean, including the bathroom. No time for lunch? I love pumpkin season and noticed Float had seasonal pumpkin waffles and chicken. I've had very good pumpkin pancakes, and have not found any where in LA that can quite the the pumpkin flavor right. Float did an excellent job with these pumpkin waffles! I was pleasantly surprised by it. The chicken was just okay, and breading fell apart while eating it. I could have done without the chicken and just ate the pumpkin waffles. Also tried their seasonal matcha lavender lemonade which was really good as well. read more

I tried Float in Hollywood before seeing Kimberly Akimbo at the Pantages Theatre, and unfortunately, it didn't impress. It's no Boichik Bagels. The small bagel was burnt, and the cream cheese and lox were thin and lackluster. Not recommended. read more

When I'm out exploring I want something different... so I looked up coffee shops in the area and found this gem. Clean, welcoming and cozy cafe with a nice seating area and even a loft overlooking the cafe. The staff was friendly, and helpful, greeted us with a smile... never a bad way to make a first impression. We had a mocha, cappuccino, coffee cake and croissant. The coffee is well balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter, and a good temperature -- I hate when my coffee gets cold after 5 minutes. We ate here, so everything was served in nice plates and glasses. Utensils were the wrapped plastic disposable type, but then I suppose you don't need to worry about how well they were washed. The pastries were fresh, moist, flavorful but not overly sweet. Overall very pleasant spot, perfect for a quick morning bite to get the day going. read more

we waited one hour and 15 minutes for our We were told several times our order would be out in 5 to 10 minutes. We finally a refund since meal with a debit card. I was told my account could not be credited until improved by a manager and that that would take place the same day. By the following day, my account still has not been credited. When I reported this to the coffee shop, the staff was not helpful and in fact was extremely rude. I would not recommend this coffee shop to anyone. read more

This hidden coffee shop is a perfect midday pick me up. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was delicious. The barista was super friendly and chatted up some other customers, super personable! There's also a ton of seating, even an upstairs so if you needed to work or do homework this spot would be perfect, there were a ton of people working while enjoying theirs drinks and food. The service was superb ! Lady making the drinks was so sweet with us and made great conversation. The place is cute with seating upstairs and down, it's a cute little place. The drink omg the drink was made with their homemade vanilla syrup and the chai was just amazing. Every sip and after taste that lingered was something that I wish I could have everyday and every morning. I wish I would've gotten another iced chai before I left. The atmosphere of the shop is really nice however the matcha as disappointing. The barista gave it to me without mixing it and it mostly tasted like dry milk. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich but when I asked how long it would take after paying he said 20 minutes. I didn't have that long so I asked to cancel it and he said he couldn't since he needs a manager. Overall pretty frustrating experience. Also I am a barista myself so I've had plenty of good matcha's but this one was just not it for $9 read more

I also bought some beans for my mother in law so she can share it with her friends back home in Seoul and she said they loved it! My coffee game has been elevated and I loveeee it! Bonnie, thank you soo much for the thoughtful birthday message on the cup. She gave me the Wilder leftover on a shot cup and it was the first time I took a "shot" in 4 years. I had a nice chat with Ed about gratitude and counting our blessings. Jason and Brian have a lot of deep knowledge and experience with coffee. The team here really work hard and really know and enjoy their coffee. We are not perfect but they still strive to serve us everyday. Calamansi Mojito ($20) for him and Ube Horchata ($14) for me. As for what we ate: Manila Mais ($18) - 2.5/5 stars - It was, okay. Filipino-ized version of Mexican elote, corn-ribs style. Though it had Filipino elements like the bagoong butter, it didn't really taste like anything different. And to be honest, the bagoong butter didn't bring anything to the table the way it was presented to the side of the corn. It was too hard and just sat on the elote as you ate it. Kare Kare Tamales ($26) - 5/5 stars - UH-AMAZING!!! I could have eaten two, regular-sized tamales versions of this as an entree instead of two smaller appetizer size. The braised oxtail inside the tamales was soft and tender but the peanut butter veloute was *chef's kiss*. You definitely tasted kare kare but in an innovative way. I just wish they had some steamed rice or bread so I could soak up the sauce. I almost cried when they took the plate away because I didn't want to waste the sauce! Bicol Express Mezzelune ($38) - 4/5 stars - I was eyeing this originally but opted not to until the chef came out and talked us into it. And I'm so glad he did! This was delicious! Ironically enough, I just cooked traditional Bicol Express the week before and this definitely hit those notes without being a carbon copy of it. Again, where was the rice?! Only thing I can dock is that I felt like the pasta was a tad too thick and was chewy to my taste. Otherwise, I would definitely order this again. Was the sleeper hit of the dinner. Crab Fat Fried Rice ($38) - 5/5 stars - Crab? Crab fat? In rice?? Of course, sign me up! So delicious and a very generous portion. I wanted to hoard it to myself but I guess I had to share with Hubby. Would order this again. Ribeye Salpicao ($96) - 3/5 stars - Not my favorite of the bunch and this surprised me because I love rib eye. It came out medium instead of the medium rare we ordered and the taste was just not to my preference. It's possible that it was just overshadowed by the other excellent dishes we had. Likely will not order again though the portion was generous. Two minor things I wish they had but not enough to dock stars: Rice and spoons. Come on, now! This is a Filipino place! These two are musts? How else could I mop up all the delicious sauces they put on the food?! Service was impeccable! From front of the house host, bartender, and the chefs, the experience was very welcoming and polished. We sat at the bar and was able to chat with the chefs when they came to introduce themselves to us and they were the nicest people. Thankfully that wait is not TOO long compared to the 2-3 hour wait lines during peak, and 3rd street is very walkable. There are lots of store to window shop or some coffee shops that might be a great place to kill some time.

Recently visited this place with my supervisor and got a breakfast bagel and a vanilla latte. It was a delightful experience from start to finish. The bagel was fresh, perfectly toasted and just simply delicious. Paired with the vanilla latte, the drink was creamy and had the perfect balance of rich coffee flavor and sweetness from the vanilla flavor. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly quick--my order was ready in no time. I was impressed with how efficiently everything was handled, making it a hassle-free and pleasant experience. Breakfast Burrito: I chose the non-spicy avocado salsa (green sauce). The tortilla was soft yet chewy, the egg and bacon were aromatic, and the potatoes and pinto beans were delicate and firm. It had a slight spiciness, but not overpowering. The sauce was mainly tangy, which helped cut through the richness. Overall, it was pretty good, very filling, but definitely not as good as the Breakfast Sandwich. Iced Latte, Iced Matcha Latte: The coffee was just average, but the portion was big! The latte was better than the matcha latte, the latter was a bit bitter.

Both of my items were really good. I believe there is only one size for drinks, and this works for me. Croissant was really good though; I have a lame theory that when they have chocolate drizzle/or some other unnecessary topping such as powdered sugar on top, they're compensating for something and here, this was not the case. It had plenty of chocolate inside, and it was delicious. The sole thing that will make the cocoa taste even better is cold weather, which we don't really get so I'll settle for cooler weather. Both Javista's have provided great service in addition to food and beverages; it's a no-brainer I'll be back at some point...

Several outlets to plug in your electronics if you're working or looking things up. My friend and I met to plan a vacation so the outlets were helpful. You order at the register and there so many fun options: breakfast, lunch, dinner, pastries and delicious desserts. It was slow due to the soccer game. Most of everyone already ordered their food. They were just getting more drinks. Yes, Solar De Cahuenga serves coffee, teas and alcohol. So I was greeted by the cashier but with no eye contact...more of a "Do you know what you want?" I ordered an iced tea. She plied "An Iced tea, anything else?" I say yes the turkey chili. She replied again "Turkey chili, anything else?" That's when I repeated how she spoke i in her robotic tone "Anything else, anything else? No that is all." She actually perked up and became friendlier and explained that she was in the zone. I got my number on a stick, the iced tea and returned to my friend. We started up our computers and planned our trip. The cashier drop off the turkey chili and was friendly and conversational (I'm glad to let people know that it's ok to personable. It's working and visit a restaurant memorable). They have definitely taken some tips from other reviews and have gotten a water bowl for dogs and have been pretty friendly when I've been there! I'm not expecting a parade, but a simple smile or "Hi, how are you?" would go a long way. Everyone working there seemed completely uninterested in acknowledging customers, especially the thinning-hair guy manning the cashier. I want to support local, but this is exactly why big coffee chains win: you walk in and generally get that friendly, positive, welcoming energy. Here, I felt like I was inconveniencing them by ordering a $25 smoothie and banana bread. Two stars. One for the smoothie, one for the banana bread. This ministry needs a little more hospitality.
