Adorable gem hidden in Hollywood . The atmosphere is incredible and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the sausage burrito. When we first got there it didn't feel very welcoming, but as I interacted with the staff, they were amazing. They accidentally delivered a Veggie burrito, but as soon as I brought it to their attention, they apologized, brought me a cookie on the house while I was waiting for my replacement burrito. Was really looking forward to trying this place after going through all the promising reviews. I got the breakfast burrito which was good, but a bit too simple for all the hype it was getting imo. Just needs a little pizzazz! I also asked for a vanilla latte and I'm not sure if the guy just didn't hear me but it was very bitter and just no bueno. First of all, it's tucked away and if you're not looking for it you could walk right by! The fresh aroma of coffee wafts pleasantly out of the screen door. When you walk in, you're immediately surprised at how big it is! The staff is superior and willing to answer all of your questions. I was in the neighborhood on a 3-day trip while my husband has a heart procedure and after searching Yelp for something close to my hotel Bolt came up. I had the french toast, it's paired with apple slices and a nugget of cheese. Absolutely delightful! Also had the Jasmine tea and was surprised at the quality. If you're in the area or just driving by, make sure to give them a try. Lastly, I really can't say enough about the gentleman with the beard who greeted me so kindly and as I was almost in tears thinking about my husband he genuinely listened and empathized. Excellent customer service with super friendly staff, plus a tasty assortment of baked treats. We visited on Thanksgiving morning and the cheddar bacon biscuit was totally delicious and freshly baked. My cold brew edged towards the bitter side, but latte was perfect. Bolt is great! I've basically ordered everything off their menu at this point haha. My favorites are the hash (the addition of brussel sprouts for breakfast is unexpected but satisfying), the breakfast burrito, French toast, and their avocado toast. They also have the best chocolate chip cookies! I also appreciate that they make it easy to order a growler of cold brew, or hard kombucha in reusable jugs. read more

Nice coffee shop with a warmer esthetic to it than the average cookie cutter coffee place these days. It features lots of natural woods and highlights with an "industrial" accent. The coffee is tasty as well I just had a black dark roast drip coffee and a blueberry muffin. The pastry selection is very unique too! Stellar service (bless Dax). Remarkable food. We were lucky enough to visit Bolt this morning after our morning hike to Griffith Observatory. Living in downtown, it's rare that we find ourselves in Hollywood, so we wanted to take advantage and hit up a trendy coffee shop nearby. After a second on Yelp, Bolt was the clear option. And amen to Yelp because we had such a great experience! The interior design, the black and gold, is a total vibe. Maybe it's the 3252 in me, but I dig it. The second you walk in, you're greeted and already placed in line to order- with packaged drink options to your left, seating straight ahead, and baked goods through a display glass to your right. It was still early enough where the morning crowd hadn't come in yet, that gave us the opportunity to ask the friendly staff a million questions about their food options. Thanks Dax, for putting up with us! He gave us excellent recommendations, (I regret not ordering the breakfast sandwich- I'll never not listen to Dax again!) from coffee to his favorite baked goods. My little Italian heart jumped at the possibility of having pasta for breakfast so my friend and I split that. We had another friend order the breakfast burrito and he was kind enough to let us try some- boyyyy, was it delicious!! Sausage, bacon, egg, cheese, and avocado, yummmm. The pasta was pretty darn good too. Cavatappi pasta was the lead actress, her supporting team was bacon and sausage and the egg was the setting. A whole scene. To speak on the baked goods- you can really taste the freshness. Everything is baked in house, new every morning. Muffins are even displayed in the tin pans, that's how fresh theyDax offered us his two favorite cookies: nutter butter and chocolate chip. MYYYYYYY GOOOOOODNESSSSS. Eyes closed, head back delicious. Make sure to chew slowly, enjoy every second, there is only so much cookie. In the words of Dax, "just like my grandma makes them!" They were the perfect amount of crunchy and the middle was the perfect amount of chewy. You thought you knew perfection? You don't know until you've tried these cookies. Usually I don't like peanut butter, but the nutter butter cookies were a subtle taste. It was amazing. I can't wait to come back and try more food! However the cook, sucks. it was my first time here and I ordered a basic bacon and avocado breakfast sandwich TO-GO with NO sausage. And I paid the extras for for the things I wanted in the sandwich which cost me almost $14 for one sandwich alone. And what I received was a bacon and sausage breakfast sandwich with no avocado, the bacon wasn't cooked all the way and it just wasn't anything like I ordered. The breakfast sandwich on the house made English muffin is truly beyond, I always get avocado added and the side of hot sauce. Also 9/10 for their oat milk latte (if you know me that's a big deal and high rating). The service was terrible. Barista has given me an attitude every time I've come in there. Funny thing...This morning she was all smiles and chatty with the man in front of me. When it was finally my turn to order, her attitude shifted entirely. Very dull and uninterested, even though I tried to make conversation. Bolt is a slightly more sophisticated neighborhood cafe with reasonably priced and tasty food. My frequent go-to is their dipped French Toast which is garnished with slices of cheese and apple. The owner is hands-on, and the each of the staff so far has been genuinely friendly. Inside there are booths and shared tables and out back there's a pretty chill eating/writing area. Lastly, they bake their cookies "just like mom never made" ... the chocolate chip are THAT GOOD! Find metered parking out front or street parking a few blocks away, worth the walk. read more

Damn. I wanted to absolutely love Bolt, and I was absolutely certain that I would. Maybe it was that hype and expectation that let me so deflated after a botched order and a very poor breakfast burrito. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The atmosphere at Bolt is exceptionally cool without being at all pretentious, which is rarer than you might think in Los Angeles. Having said that, Bolt could benefit a bit from a bit more attention to detail. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito and a Latte during what wasn't a peak morning hour, and was a bit surprised to find that the breakfast burrito took about twenty or so minutes to come out. That's not a huge deal, but in addition to that longer than average wait my latte was completely forgotten, which was a bit disappointing. No Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $8.00 got me a small to medium sized breakfast burrito, which was entirely reasonable in a city where breakfast burritos will routinely run you over $10.00. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This honestly was just not an impressive breakfast burrito at all. The eggs and sausage were both nothing incremental over basic, and the potatoes and sort of weird ketchup like sauce didn't impress. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? There are such amazing coffee and burrito shops in Los Angeles that I simply can't get excited about going back to Bolt after my experience. No Star. read more

During peak brunch hours, they do ask that you put away your labtops but I think we came late enough that it was ok to have them out as the majority of ppl had theirs out.
