I went to that spot last week for the first time to get myself mongo lacy smoothie. I got a large cup and gave my credit card to the employee and he told me they'll charge extra if I pay with credit card. I said it was ok and the drink came up to $5.35. Employee told me it's 5 dollars flat if I pay with cash. Yesterday, 12/13/16 I stopped there again to get 2 mid and 1 small mango lacy. This time it was a female employee and she charged me 18 dollars for the whole thing. She obviously took an advantage thinking it's my first time there. I didn't bother arguing over 5 dollars. I just think it's sad and pathetic that people try to scam you the first chance they get. Honestly, it's their loss. I was going to be a frequent customer cause their smoothies are really good, however, I'll go to a different spot from now on. That lady was a complete thief and I feel sorry for her. read more

Ordered takeout. Food was horrible. Portion was very small for 13.99, Ordered chicken 65 biryani barely had any chicken, rice was very dry. Swaminarayan Friendly! It's really hard to find a Indian restaurant where there are many choices. This place was willing to make majority of there items with out onion and garlic including North Indian items. Made a huge mistake on online food order today! I ordered Paneer Makhani with 2 butter naan. Paneer Makhani was horrible as soon as I open container was looks like some color added in water (it was watery grevy) and had only 6-7 paneer cubes. I have never seen this kind of curry in my entire life. I literally throw it out in garage. And they charged me $12.99 (which other restaurants charges almost same price but they give you great food quality and quantity) it was also very small quantity. Please be careful before you order food on these place please check some reviews that I think I made big mistake I saw lots of bad reviews for this place. Bombay Spice was a great experience. I eat at Indian restaurants about 100 times a year, 40 or so different ones this year, and it is rare I find something new and exciting. Bombay Spice advertises their Kati rolls on the window so I figured I'd try it. I like spicy food and when I asked for the level of spice I desired they treated me with respect and didn't "water it down" for an American and I really appreciate that. I had a Kati roll, which I had never seen in a nearby restaurant and I loved it. Prices were inexpensive and I got two pieces of roll with great flavor and ingredients. I also ordered a pickle and salad and it was tasty and fresh. I ordered the Jalapeno samosa and it was extremely tasty and properly balanced, and the mirchi pakoras (again I like hot peppers) and these were among the few I've gotten that were properly breaded so the breading did not fall off and big enough to taste the peppers. All in all one of the best restaurants in the capital of Indian food in the East, Edison. (and they have other branches nearby). I encourage anyone to eat there and you'll be back. read more

A great place for Kati Rolls. It's right on route 27 so it's easy to get to. Biggest downside is the service is very slow. Also the kitchen staff sometimes works out in the seating area and makes you feel like you are intruding. That's not to say that they are not friendly, because they are, it just makes it a better place to get take out or delivery from. read more

Our first family visit to Bombay Spice II with family! Food was delicious! Loved the presentation and taste of pani puri. Naan were thin and well done. Kathi roll, samosa chat, pakoras, mango lasi were great too! Rice was well cooked! Our kids enjoyed and loved the food. We will go back again soon!! read more

Horrible food. Especially with the abundance of indian restaurants around, you think their food would be of par. Nope. Chole bature was full of oil. Palak paneer was tasteless. Almost tasted like it was lying around in their freezer and they heated it up. We ordered a papadi chat and got a 'papad' chat instead. Literally papad broken up and given to you. For years we mostly ate Indian Food at a restaurant in Kenilworth. Once in a while we would try someplace else, but the food would never compare. Recently we started in earnest looking for another place to go. I've been passing Bombay Spice 2 for years, and always meant to stop in to try it. This week I happened to be going by near lunch time, so I turned in. It's easy to pass by because the building in below street level. I doubt I will pass it by again. One of our favorite foods is Samosa, so of course we got an order of 2. I love chole, so I ordered the Chole Bhature chat. When we got home and started to eat, I wished I had my own Samosa, I only tasted a bite of one so my husband could have them both. It was the very best Samosa I ever ate. The chole was fantastic. It was seasoned boldly, it was hearty and very satisfying. I was surprised to see it came with thinly sliced sweet onion, Indian pickles and two pieces of a type of Indian bread. Most of the items on their menu are unfamiliar to me, but I took the time to research them and am looking forward to going back and trying many more of them! Although there are ample tables, and the place is very clean, the ambiance is more like that of a take out place. The only complaint I have is the the young woman who waited on me was more focused on what she was hearing on her smartphone headphones. She could have been more attentive when I questioned her about the menu, since I wanted to try something new. read more

Stopped on the way out of town. We were looking for a place that served authentic kathiawadi food ( particularly undhiyo) and stumbled on this gem. Stopped by here on a family road trip up to Rhode Island. It was 8 of us, so we ended up ordering just about half of the entire menu (11 items total). Almost everything we ordered was amazing!!! The taste was great, vegetables were fresh, spice level was to perfection, and to top it all off, the service was wonderful. They were very friendly and accommodating. Love this place! We've been here three times already in the last two months and we had a great experience each time. It has a wam, cozy, simple ambience and the food is very earthy and home style. The best part though is the very friendly and accommodating service. They have a separate kitchen for vegetarians and cater to specialized needs for Jains and SwamiNarayans. If there was a zero star option I would have given that. This place is totally money minded. Just went there today morning to buy samosas for our family get together and they gave very little chutneys with the samosas for a 25 samosa order. When I asked for more chutney the clueless girl at the counter had to go ask five different people only to come back and tell me that they will charge me if I want extra chutney.that too 4$ for the little amount of chutney they had given me. Will never go back to this place again n would definitely like to warn all of u people from going to this nasty place.
