I've been to Bonchon multiple times before but never for lunch. Their lunch deal has to be one of the best, especially in today's economy! For $12.95, they give you 8 strips and any side. We also got a side of fried rice for $12.95, which is cheaper than their regular dinner price (but looks like their regular portion). We honestly didn't even need the extra side of rice...we were full from the strips and even had leftovers. I will definitely be ordering Bonchon for lunch more often!

Four wings, two drums, half soy garlic, half spicy!

First time trying tonight, online order, delivered by DoorDash. One order of 4 wings, 2 drums, half soy garlic, half coleslaw + spicy mayo; one order of spicy chicken Korean tacos and Takoyaki (octopus fritters). Easy online ordering and paying, order actually arrived 10 minutes before stated time online. Food was hot and SOOO good! I loved both the soy garlic AND the spicy chicken, but I think I agree with some, the soy garlic won my heart, especially dipped in a bit of the spicy mayo. The coleslaw was a good side, cooling down the spice from the spicy. Boyfriend LOVED the Korean tacos, liked the Takoyaki but not quite as fully. We will definitely order again, would like to try more from the menu!

I'm new to the area so I haven't been eating as much, but when I do I scout out places based on my pallet at the time. Yesterday I was in the mood for some chicken wings and Bonchon popped up in my search. I was already nearby in the Kentlands neighborhood, a very trendy neighborhood to walk and check out various restaurants and shops. I ordered the Combo 4 wings 2 drumsticks, spicy and spicy garlic off l the dinner menu. It was very pricey for what you get in my opinion. Anyway, I got home and started eating the wings, then I got to the drumsticks, OMG they were the two largest drumsticks I have ever seen. I almost did not want to eat them, because all I could think of was this chicken had to be on steroids for them to be so large. I regret now not taking pictures to post but trust me when I say they were huge but delicious. It's a cute Korean restaurant with a full bar with TV and music in the background. Unfortunately, there isn't any outside seating but I can see this spot popping off in the Spring and Summer time because it's in a very affluent neighborhood for families to walk to and from home. I look forward to going back.

Came here twice and did take out. They did not include my pickled radish that I even specifically asked for in my instructions. I shouldn't even be asking. It should already come with the strips. I asked on both occasions when I ordered. Needless to say I did not get it both times. Very sad. Bonchon also use to give rice now they charge like $2 for a small small portion. Like come on rice is cheap and your prices are ridiculously high. At least give me the radish or rice. The chicken strips were good at least. Still disappointed in their service.

3.5 stars. So glad a Korean spot opened in the Kentlands. they have a good deal - family meal. Includes 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides (we got fries and coleslaw), and fried rice. We ordered the meal on their website and came out fast In 25 minutes. My gold standard for Korean wings is BBQ chicken. You just can't beat it. Their tteokbokki is so spicy and good. Wings are money and fries good. Back to Bonchon. It has lots of potential. Maybe it will taste better at the restaurant. They don't have enough sauce in their soy garlic sauce imo. They are almost there! They don't even give daikon like all the other Bonchon's. It's a side item. On the plus side, wings are good size and less fatty then others. Fries were good same with coleslaw. Fried rice all I taste is soy sauce. No sugar or sesame oil. Meh. Thank you for opening here and anytime I'm craving for wings uptown in Gaithersburg, will get my fix here.

Tough, chewy, dry, not crispy and certainly not worth $33.00

A grave disappointment. Excited to order the 8 piece fried chicken strips and seasoned fries after seeing a television interview. Nothing like what I saw. I will not be back! Isn't fried chicken supposed to be crispy? This chicken was dry and tough (overcooked? Or is this the way it's supposed to be???) and although the seasoned fries were crispy they were way too salty! I had Korean fried chicken years ago in California and it was crispy and tender and I anticipated this local version to be just as good. But it was a total FAIL. Again, it was not crispy and it was tough and dried out. $32.90 including tax and tip for chewy and tough fried chicken tenders. I don't waste food. I brought home my $32.90 leftovers home and cut into cubes and mixed with other food to consume. The food was immensely disappointing and I will not be back!!!

Boo-hoo, look around and you'll find a spot unless you're driving a yacht. Now, to the setting and the food...the setting is the way I like it. Rustic, clean, unassuming, not fancied up. Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places. If you want to take someone out and just enjoy yourselves, this would be it. Perhaps a bit different when full, but still. Btw, it's been 13 years since I first went here. THE FOOD We ordered the Chadol Premium Combo, which featured five delicious cuts of Angus beef accompanied by a bowl of soybean soup, fresh lettuce leaves, large pink pickled daikon slices, and three standard dipping sauces. We also added a salad and the cheese corn to round out the meal. Overall, the meat quality was excellent. * Unmarinated Short Rib: Simple, high-quality, and quite tasty. * Boneless Ribeye: Prepared with rosemary and butter, making it an incredibly rich and flavorful bite. * Marinated Boneless Short Rib: Prepared with sesame and garlic. Because this cut is closer to the bone, it was flavorful and tender. As a bonus, the fried garlic left at the bottom of the pan after cooking was absolutely delicious. * Marinated Galbi Short Rib: Very tender and surprisingly flavorful without leaning too sweet, which was a great balance. * Pickled Chayote: Made with chopped onions and jalapeños. This side was refreshing and flavorful, serving as palate cleanser between rich bites of beef. THE SERVICE * Our server, Kaitlyn, took a no-nonsense, efficient approach to our meal. She helped start the grilling process and dropped by periodically to fire up the next batch of meats and refill our banchan and water. Tip: You have the option to cook everything yourself, but if you want assistance, simply flip the table sign to request help with the grill.
