Pretty good-- the wait time for the chicken was nowhere near 30 minutes (maybe around 15?), which was good because we had a movie to catch. We got the 20-piece wings, half spicy and half regular, a bulgogi bibimbap and seasoned fries. The wings are as good as I remember and I really enjoy both flavors. I learned that the pickled radish that comes with it is partially soaked in SPRITE what the heck?? But after learning that I could definitely taste the sweetness in them. The bibimbap came in a stone bowl, which I love, and the rice on the bottom got nice and crispy. The seasoned fries were just ok, actually-- I don't think they warrant the rave reviews from everyone else. This place is beyond delicious. The wings are a perfect blend of crunchiness, sweetness and spiciness. Each order comes with the option of one mini side dish and I would pick the sweet pickled radishes as they act as the perfect palette cleanser to calm down the spice. I also always order a side of seasoned fries as the perfect pairing to the wings. The service here was really good. We told the waiters we were in a bit of rush due to having to catch a movie next door. They were so nice and friendly, and incredibly accommodating about it. They were able to pre-prep the grill for us while we were finalizing our order and the food came out in under 15 minutes (and we made it to our movie!). The ambience here is really nice, with kind of a rustic modern feel to it with soft lighting and dark wood furnishings. It's honestly decorated pretty nicely and also has a full bar in the back. The food, EXCELLENT! The service, TERRIBLE! I've been to this location multiple times, for lunch and for dinner. It's a huge disappointment that the service never matched the food. There's always been an issue, an attitude, or a combo of both. I've found that sitting at the bar is the best way to dine in at this place. I don't know if the bartender named Eddie still works there. But, he's the only one that kept us coming back and helped us overlook the otherwise terrible service. 1.5 of these stars goes to the food, the other 1.5 goes to Eddie. I absolutely love his place. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. My husband loves the seafood scallion pancake and I love the salmon ball appetizer and the sesame ginger chicken salad. It's never too busy. Very quiet. Good for small groups or a casual date night out. Right next to movie theater so great for dinner and a movie. Friendly staff and they remember us when we come in and make sure we always have water, fresh towelettes and want for nothing. Excellent customer service. I decided to give Bonchon another chance even though I was disappointed with the one in Rockville. This Bonchon is set up the same as the other one I visited, except the service was superb! And by superb, I mean that the server did *not* mess up my order. My server came to the table at least five times during the meal to refill our waters, which is fantastic because I got the spicy, spicy wings! I came with a group of friends and we shared the calamari and seasoned fries. So worth it! I would definitely get both even if I was eating alone. The fries are nice and battered, and the calamari isn't the tiny little fried pieces--you can tell that it is actual squid! Yummm. I was pleased with my spicy wings, and this time, I did not find them super oily like on my last visit, although they were still a little greasy (even for wings). My two friends that chose the strips severely regretted it. The strips are just extremely thinly pounded meat that don't hold up to the fry, if that's your thing. This time, I ordered the kimchi coleslaw as my side for my lunch combo. It was heavy on the mayo and not spicy. I wish I would've ordered the kimchi! First time at a BonChon. We were attracted by a sign that said 10% off a $25+ dine-in purchase with movie ticket since it was right next door to the Hyattsville Regal. It was raining and we were hungry after 3-hr Endgame so why not? We weren't really greeted; it was more of a look. Our waitress had a straight face on the whole time and it was kind of awkward. We ordered 20 wings (spicy and soy garlic) and received 18?? We let a nearby waiter know and he was understanding and brought the other 2 wings out to us. Wings were really good. The skin was glazed and crunchy and the meat was juicy and hot inside. The steamed shrimp shumai were delicious. The presentation of the food was great. They kept our glasses of water full. The restroom was decent and clean. When we pass the greeter booth on our way out, the greeter and waitress looked at us and didn't say anything. More awkwardness. Would I come back to this location? I love their food and their selection of international beers. It is not just a very comfortable place to be , but also a unique international food place in Hyattsville Maryland. I don't understand how this restaurant has only 3.5 star. Their service was on point, and so was the food. There is literally nothing bad to say about this place. The wings we ordered was soy garlic and spicy ones which were delicious. As they keep the recipe to Korean authentic style, it takes about 30 min to freshly fry their wings. So if you think that's bad, don't waste your time rating them one or two stars here, and go somewhere else that can serve food faster. Anyhow, I would definitely spare another Friday night to eat out here:) read more

I enjoy the Bonchon in Navy Yard and thought this location would be a safe bet after a morning running errands in the area. When we arrived at noon on a Sunday, the place was completely empty. Probably should have been our first red flag, but we soldiered on (we were starving). Once we were seated, it took far too long for a server to come over (red flag #2). We ordered drinks and took a minute to look over the menu. Our server came back maybe 5 minutes later to take our order, but still hadn't delivered our drinks (red flag #3 - are you seeing a theme?). The slow service continued throughout our meal. The food was decent, but not worth the molasses slow service. If I'm craving Bonchon I'll stick with the one in Navy Yard from now on. read more

Had heard this was the spot for great wings/food. Was actually just driving through and saw that hanks was now bon chons. Immediately my lady wanted to stop and check it out. After being seated we took our time thumbing through the menu, but i think we both knew we were going for the wings regardless. She got 1/2 & 1/2 and i got soy garlic. I had sarcastically quoted at the table "for this price these wings better be the truth" well guess what. They ain't never lied! Our server was awesome, he kept the drinks coming and was very attentive with all of his tables in our area. I will definitely be going back to sample the rest of the menu. This place is like a 3.5. I do agree with other reviews that the chicken strips are a little more on the dry side but I love the white meat. Unlike most, I love white meat so take that into consideration. Now, I love spicy food but their spice level is on a "Thai" scale...you know its spicy when you eat Kimchee to cool your mouth off. The Kimchee was fresh with a slight tang. The seasoned fries were great too - hot and the right amount of seasoning. I couldn't really tell you about what's in the spice mixture. You can get half and half which I did and thank goodness. The soy glaze was tasty - not too salty, not too sweet and a little sticky. It is a little pricey. I definitely think that they should offer a 5-piece even on the weekend (10 piece is a minimum order other than at lunch). My total for above was about $18. read more

First we were seated fast, we came at 2:03, we ordered our drinks,, took about 5 min for our drinks to come, we said were ready to order but then the server left I'm guessing she didn't hear us, 10! Min later brought our water, then left again, 1 min later another server came finally- we had to calling her to come over saying we were ready to order. We ordered takoyaki, wings half&half, also strips half&half with the sides of seasoned fries. We waited another 10 min... our takoyaki arrived. , 5 min later our chicken came, the chicken wasn't that special and wasn't good as the other locations I've tried. So my go to is at my Rockville place fantastic.. also elicot City is great.I was at work in Hyattsville and grabbed a lunch order with my side of radish. I just placed the food in a corner holy mother of God the radish smelt like rotten eggs engulfing the office, how embarrassing. So here I am trying to play coy blaming it on the trash can by me, and finding an exit strategy which I figured was the radish.. I couldn't believe it smelt that bad a quick search showed that if it is not pickled properly u get that.. I bought food to eat not engage in Hazmat cleaning techniques.. the chicken which I have had previously is smaller and not as crunchy as other locations. We ordered 4 dishes and she brought out three. We live in laurel and this one was pretty close to us so we decided to try this location together. Everything was fine until we got our food. I ordered the Korean tacos with the mayo sauce on the side. My tacos had mayo sauce all over the tacos and she brought me extra mayo on the side. I thought, ok, maybe she misunderstood me. It's ok, I simply told her I couldn't eat the mayo and had asked for it on the side not extra. The server looked confused and asked why I didn't want the mayo sauce on the tacos. I'm sorry, i just can't eat mayo. She said she would bring me new tacos right away, came back less than 2 minutes later with what I thought were FRESH, no mayo tacos. But no, she had brought back tacos with some mayo scraped off topped with extra cabbage. When I lifted the taco, there was mayo juice dripping from the taco. Totally lost my appetite. We were excited to try the wings and some other sides, so we ordered a small order of wings (half and half), salmon avocado ball, and takoyaki. I don't think I can say much about the takoyaki - I didn't like the taste at all, but I've never before had it so maybe it was just my preference. The salmon ball was underwhelming. The salmon tasted burnt for some reason? And finally... the wings. You get 10 for $12 and the quality is just not worth the price point. There's barely any meat on those bones! I did like how crispy they were, but that was just about the only redeeming quality. We got all this for $28. Our normal wing order at Cluck-U is about that much and you get so much more at such better quality! TLDR; If you want wings, just go to Cluck-U. They even have an Asian sauce that's really good. Dined here about a week ago. This place is quite nice and spacious. When I arrived the place wasn't crowded so I thought my friend and I would get fast service. Well that wasn't the case at all. After being seated by the greeter we waited and waited for someone to come and take our order. After about 7-8 minutes a young woman walked by and asked if we have been served and we told her no so she went ahead and put in our drink and meal order. For my drink I ordered the raspberry lemonade which was very sweet. Since we came around lunch time we ordered from there lunch menu. I ordered the house fried rice with chicken and it came with a salad and my friend ordered the small signature fried chicken strips half/half which consist of half soy garlic and spicy. Our meals took a really long time to come out and it wasn't crowded at all. I can't even imagine how the service is when it's crowded on any other day. Anyway, when my meal came out I was very surprise to see a lot of food. From the lunch menu I expected a smaller portion but the portion I received could easily feed 2-3 people. The fried rice did taste good just a lot and I'm not one to eat a lot of rice. The salad was good. My friends food he said was good. I tried both flavors and it was tastey. FYI the spicy is really spicy. This place seems okay but it wasn't my cup of tea. However if you like fried chicken I hear this is one of the best places to get it. read more
