    Fried chicken and fries

I love me some fried chicken so I been wanting to try Korean fried chicken forever. So they didnt disappoint. It was really good and I would go back for more. A must go to if you like fried chicken. Pro tip: check out the specials. I love me a good deal

Came by on a Saturday night craving chicken wings and fries. I ordered the 10-piece chicken wings only and 20 pieces tenders, and to my surprise, I didn't actually receive wings... it was a mix of drumettes and wings, which was really disappointing. The chicken itself tasted a bit fatty, although I'll give credit that the batter was nice and crunchy. However the tender was really dry... Service was incredibly slow, it was hard to flag down the servers even though there were only two tables including us. Overall, I was very disappointed. I love Bonchon, but unfortunately this location just did not hit.

Finally decided to try Bonchon for the 1st time. Wish they have more flavors in general. The service here is great. We ordered the Seoul Sampler which came with 2 drums, 4 wings, Bulgogi Fries, Pork Potstickers, Korean Street Corn and Coleslaw and ranch for dipping sauce. Got the Soy Garlic sause for the chicken. Everything was good, but the chickens were a little over cooked!!! Steamed Shrimp Dumplings were okay came with spicy mayo, which didn't taste like it. Pickle Radish could use a lot more vinegar. Overall I give this a 3.5 stars and round it up to 4!!!

Me & my sister went their yesterday to give them a try. I've seen many times & the food pictures looks delicious. We got the chicken wings, double fried with Korean BBQ sauce, so delicious, seasoned fries and the Korean donuts are soooo good. Now I'm going to have cravings for BonChon. So much so we went again this afternoon. Got it to go with everything just right.

Spotted this place, next to UPS, and decided to check it out spur of the moment. Ordered Pork Belly Buns and Katsu Chicken. Overall it wasn't terrible and I might give them another try if I happen to be nearby. The katsu was crispy (even after driving 20 minutes), slightly dry from overcooking but the taste was fine. The coleslaw it vomewas sweet and tangy and crisp. The rice is plain white. The real disappointment was the pork belly buns. The buns were soft and tasty, the cucumbers crisp and the sauce was ok, more Americanized than Korean. The pork belly was incredibly tough and dry. I love pork belly and I only tried 2 before I gave up. I don't know if it was the way it was sliced or if it was undercooked but I've never had tough belly before.

Watching Korean series can influence your food craving. Today was Korean fried chicken. Getting food delivery can be hazardous to your health as well. Without getting up from your lounge chair you can order food just like at some theaters. I had ordered the ten piece chicken wings with Korean bbq and soy garlic flavors; and Korean donut and sauce. The food was prepared and delivered sooner than specified. It was crispy and warm. The chicken was nicely package and labelled well indicating the flavoring. Although I had enjoyed the crispiness, I couldn't taste the difference between the two. There were a couple of drumlettes included on one side that threw me into a loop as I was expecting wings only. Nonetheless they were enjoyable. Finally, the dessert, Korean donut that intrigued me enough to ordered it. Essentially, an elongated twisted donut with sugar and cinnamon. Dipped in the sauce, I can't say that I enjoyed it with or without it better. Most importantly, I couldn't determined the what made it Korean. I like donuts and in this case, I like this one as well. I would try other flavored chicken and dishes here in the future.

I stopped by Bonchon to try their chicken sandwich with the soy garlic flavor. It looked promising, crispy thigh, shiny sauce, soft bun, but the bite didn't quite live up to the look. The chicken was a bit overcooked, so it lost that juicy pull you want when you bite into fried dark meat. It's basically a fried chicken thigh on a brioche bun with coleslaw and sauce. Simple setup. The issue is in the build, mine was wrapped so the meat was hanging out the front, and once you unwrap it, the back half was all bun. You gotta push the chicken forward yourself just to balance it out. The flavor was okay, sweet, garlicky, that signature Korean-style double fry that keeps it crisp, but overall it didn't hit that "wow" factor. It's decent for what it is, but nothing that makes you crave another round. If you come here, the wings are probably the real play. That's where Bonchon earns its name. The sandwich? Crunchy, yes. Memorable? Not really.

Something was off. I've been to other Bonchon locations, and this one was not it. It didn't taste right. It was lacking the flavors I greatly antifipated from Bochon. I also ordered wings and they gave us combo (wings and drums). The servers seemed young, but were nice and helpful. A little disappointing with our food here.

Tried them for the first time. I really enjoyed the food. No one was there eating but a lot of people were picking up food to go. I would go back and try something else for sure.

Nice spot to have lunch since they have lunch specials! Nothing super amazing but good if you're looking for a quick bite. Not sure if I'd dine outside of their lunch special though.

Tell me this is fresh? Dry as hell. And hella old

Not to happy with my experience, I've heard a lot about this place, expected more , but after trying it..I probably won't be going again. I placed an order for me and my family. Other food was good, but the chicken tenders seem like they were sitting under a light too long, or maybe done like 2 days prior. The service was fast. Placed an order online; and then got a call right away from the restaurant, stating that I will see two chargers on my card. And one will be refunded a couple of days later. For one that is inconvenient. How was my $60 meal, turn to $120? I got charged by the ordering app: then again at the restaurant? What if it was my last $60? They need to take that off. Seems shady. I'll be on the look out for a refund forsure, The place seemed chill.

Ask the Community - Bonchon San Leandro

    Do they have take out?

    Yes.

Are they open today (New Years)? I just called but no one picked up or if they're just busy. Don't wanna drive there & end up it's closed today

    Yes

Are they open on Sunday? And if so what are the hours?

Yes, they are open on sundays. I would assume they are the same as Saturday hours. They are also open all day now instead of closing after the lunch hour.

Are they open on Thanksgiving and what is their phone number?

    They're closed.

What are the soft opening hours? The photos posted do no justice for their sign with the day and times...

From what it looks like on a recent photo, it seems that they are opened for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm (M-F), dinner starting at 5 pm to 9:30 pm (M-Th), with them opening 30 mins later for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays (10 pm close) and they…

Whats your phone number i will pick up some order?

They do not have a phone yet. I asked the same question last night. The gal I spoke to said they expect to have a phone in the next few weeks.

    Are you open on Sunday's?

Doesn't look like they open on Sundays from their hours.

This happened yesterday and I need to let it out…read more... This place was my goto all time favorite Korean restaurant. Now....i just don't know.....Came here with a party of 12 for my sister's birthday at around 2:30pm (we actually picked this time because we thought they wouldn't be too busy to take our large group). Went to check in but wasn't able to check in with that large amount of people (limited 10 on the kiosk). Not sure if he is the manager or on duty supervisor (we are going to called his Mr. M) but he wasn't friendly. Informed him that we had a party of 12 since the kiosk said to let them know if the party was greater than 10. He told me he wasn't able to seat us all together, I'm like it's ok if you separate us. (But he kept insisting we don't take 12, making me feel like he really didn't want our business). I explained to Mr. M, We are ok if you separate us into 2 groups of 6, we don't have to sit with each other. He was like it'll be about 30 minutes or so. That was fine with us, we weren't all there yet. So after discussing with my family we decided to check in on the Yelp kiosks with two parties of 6s. When everyone arrived (we ended having 11 people total), we rechecked in the kiosk with all parties arrived. My bro in law got text later that their table was ready so their party got seat. While I and the rest of the family waited, we noticed a few booths opened in the front of the restaurant (btw there wasn't anyone else waiting, just us 5). We asked, since it's 4 adults and 1 baby if we could sit there with another server and he was more than happy to take care of us. He even asked if we needed a booster chair for the baby. Mr. M stepped in and told the server no he can't seat us and he came up to us and told us we can't sit there cause it's up to 4 people only and told us "I told you that you would have to wait a long time". We were really shocked with his attitude towards us. Since the baby was getting really hungry we told the rest of my family we are just going somewhere else. Apologized to my sister because we couldn't even eat on her birthday together. All I can say now is "wow, really!!!" I've been going here for so many years because I enjoyed the food and their service and now i'm not sure I want to come back". Btw this isn't the first time we came here with a large group. We have been seated multiple times and we have been in the other side of the building when they used it in the past. If my sister reads this: Happy now belated Birthday, jie!!! Hope you enjoy the day and had a nice birthday regardless!

Vivid is located in a strip mall off Washington St, and looks like a family-run operation with lots of Korean customers. IMHO, Korean cuisine is not only super tasty, but super healthy too and consistent with HHS Secretary Kennedy's diet of high protein, fresh/pickled/fermented veggies, and yes either a fried or boiled egg with hot dishes. Banchan came out first, and was fresh. We loved the bean sprouts and kimchi. Free refills - just ask! Wife got the seafood ramen - nice broth and chewy noodles, but frankly she found chicken meat and not seafood. Maybe a kitchen oversight? The two entrees we got were definitely 5-star worthy. A big, heaping sizzling platter of bulgolgi is a crowd pleaser for sure. Thinly-sliced, juicy, and sweet-savory beefy flavors. I need to eat in moderation due to propensity to develop gout, but my 5yo son loved every bite. Its a bit pricy at $42, but it can feed 2-3 people. Next time we visit, we'll probably try either the BBQ chicken or the Pork Belly. The other amazing dish is the Chicken Dolsot. A huge, sizzling stone bowl of crispy rice and tons of colorful veggies and super juicy chicken meat. A fried egg thrown in for good measure too. I do recommend adding some red Gochujang Sauce for extra flavor burst. Looking forward to coming back for more.
