Made a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The inside is not huge, but the vibes are immaculate and feel super cozy. Our server was also so nice and even itemized and split the bill for us, which I always appreciate with group dinners. Also worth noting, they have a no tipping policy because there is an automatic 20% service fee, but they fully disclose that upfront so there are no surprises. I got the bone broth with noodles because the broth looked way too good to pass up, and honestly... the broth absolutely lived up to the hype. So rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of thing I wanted to keep drinking forever. The actual noodles and beef were a little underwhelming though. At one point the noodles kind of gave instant noodle vibes, which felt like a missed opportunity because the broth deserved better. I almost wish there were different noodle options or honestly just less noodles because I mostly just wanted to sip the broth. We also tried the ube gnocchi, which sounded amazing in theory, but it ended up being a little too creamy for me and I did not get as much ube flavor as I was hoping for. The real standout besides that incredible broth was the chicken wings. So crispy, so tender, and ridiculously flavorful. Absolutely would order those again.

Not gonna say I love this place nor will I say I like this place. It's just OK. There are other great restaurants in Pasadena that I'd rather go to. I do love trying fusion restaurants, but I would rather go to a restaurant that specializes in a certain region or type of food. Also, they will automatically add 20% tip on your overall bill.

Lovely lovely food in a warm intimate setting. I came here once a long time ago and remembered a nice hearty comfort meal in a modern atmosphere. This most recent visit, I came with my dog & toddler so the outside patio was perfect. The continuous stream of car & bus traffic drone out any excess noise my rambunctious toddler made. We ordered just a few things but everything was so good. I took a chance on the green beans and they were not disappointing. Bold in soy flavor but had a sweetness I really liked. The rendang carbonara was a creative and tasty dish but purists like my husband maybe won't appreciate it as much. My toddler DEVOURED the bone broth & noodles, and especially the beef that literally melted in the mouth. That dish is a must have every time. Looking forward to our next dinner here.

Real pleasant surprise to see so many positive reviews on the atmosphere (dark, dimly lit, romantic to fall in love with your food) and the cuisine! I wasn't looking for an authentic experience, I wanted fusion and flavors. My friend and I share a birthday week so we came here to celebrate and feel like gluttons. Here's everything we had: - Lychee dragonfruit lemonade $6 - nice and sweet - Papaya salad $18 - against our first instincts to go with the Thai steak salad (Green papaya, mangoes, tomatoes, chili, cilantro, green beans, green onions, peanuts, Tobiko, shrimp, garlic chips.) Not that much spice, tbh, and very few shrimp. Still good. - Tartare $26 (Charred hanger Steak, pickled mustard greens, shallots, chives, yuzu aioli, sesame rice crackers) Realistically at this point, someone should have told us to slow down. Portions are not overtly generous but they're large enough to share. - Bone Marrow $29 (Ginger scallion confit, sesame oil, baguettes, red endives, baby frisee, apples, pears, citrus dressing) Insane value for this price. I feel like any other restaurant would give you a single bone and you're given three here. The salad and baguettes pair well. Ask for a to-go bag for the bones and use them for your own broth the next day. - Oxtail dumplings* $18 (Oxtail, mushrooms, leeks, sesame, sorrel, San Bai Su, chili oil) Hands down the winner of the night, for the oxtail sauce. A mix of plum sauce, plum wine, vinegar, and addiction. Don't let them take the sauce away from you. Add it to white rice, your soup, dab a bit on your neck to attract divine spirits, etc. - The ramen made with 36-hour bone broth $24 5 oz. of artisanal ramen noodles, heirloom carrots, red onions & cilantro. We added 7oz brisket beef (sous vide for 12 hours with garlic, butter & herbs). Add a soft-poached egg for $3 (thanks to a random server walking by who cracked that open for me) and some white rice for $3 - rice paired well with our leftover oxtail sauce. Bone Kettle adds a 20% gratuity "service charge" to each bill to take care of the tip. I wish I'd brought cash to give an additional tip because everyone was that great. They offered recommendations freely and were always spot-on. So attentive to refilling beverages, as well. You can't add a charged tip to your bill at all, unfortunately! I'm pretty sure those oxtail dumplings re-arranged some molecules in my brain. I'm still thinking about them. I can sort of taste them if I close my eyes and click my heels together three times.

From the drinks to the food, everything tasted delicious. We didn't come with a reservation but we were seated immediately. We started with a passionfruit mojito and calamansi margarita - very tasty! Then we ordered the gule with chicken, sisig & nasi goreng with the ribeye medium rare and wow everything tasted amazing. We've actually been here before for brunch and everything was a hit as well - we'll definitely come back more to try other foods!!

I've come here on 3 separate occasions, but have yet to leave my thoughts on this place on yelp! The first time I came was because of a planned date and the other two occasions were to meet up with a friend. Food: I always order the bone broth noodle soup every time I come because it's what they are known for. They say the broth simmers for 36hrs. The broth is pretty flavorful. The beef is pretty tender. It's good, but I feel like I have had better around the 626 area. The food is presented well! The bone marrow is pretty tasty! Drink: I've tried a lychee drink here. The drinks are okay. They are aesthetically pleasing for sure as shown in the photos. However, it isn't mind-blowing. Service: All the waiters and staff were kind and attentive. They refilled our waters and brought our food out in a timely manner. Parking: It's going to be paid street parking most likely. Overall: It's definitely a nice, upscale staple around the 626 area. They charge a 20% gratuity fee automatically. The inside feels very cozy and classy. There is also an outdoor dining area in the back of the restaurant. There wasn't anything too special about the food though, in my opinion. For the price, everything tasted fine. I would come back if another friend suggests to meet up here!

We came here for a baby shower. I'm very impressed with the private room setting. It's a bright airy back room that allows a group of 30+ sitting comfortably. The open bar is great! The bar tenders were prompt and friendly. I love my lychee martini. It's a buffet style luncheon and we had a great variety of food: skewers, noodles, ox tail dumplings, cauliflowers, egg rolls and eggs. For the dessert station, delish French toast with blueberries and one with strawberries and cream. What a delightful place to host a small party. I will return ti try their regular menu.

I got the chicken and top sirloin bone broth kettles, and the broth was sooo good and felt super healing. Both proteins were cooked well, tender and not tough or hard to chew. The inside is really nice and cozy, I liked how the seating along the wall had pillows. I also got the lumpia appetizer, and the sauce that comes with it is really good. One downside is that they automatically add a 20% gratuity. I didn't really appreciate that, especially since the service wasn't very attentive and they even spilled broth while pouring it into our bowls. I'm not a fan of restaurants shifting the responsibility of paying their staff onto customers.

Unique fusion restaurant. Menus change depending on if it's lunch time or dinner time. I wished there were clear details and explanations on the menu that said everything uses duck eggs. (I personally can't eat anything duck so the only thing I deliciously ate was the sourdough bread and butter.)

Definitely had a lot of options in Pasadena but landed on this spot that serves 36 hour bone broth. The broth was so rich, so comforting. There was a good amount of noodles that were so bouncy. The beef was super tender. I needed to add the bone marrow, it was a little too much for me. Drawbacks of a solo diner is that there I can only order one main. Definitely highly recommend! I didn't have a reservation but was able to sit at the bar.

Walked in for 2 around 10:30 on Valentine's Day and was seated easily without resy outside! Service 5/5 The service was great and they checked up on us multiple times and gave me Thai chili when I asked for more spices. We ordered 2/5 -papaya salad: this was interesting, it tasted different than normal and felt like something was missing. I probably wouldn't order it again :/ - broth with brisket: this was honestly really disappointing. The bone broth didn't taste like anything special and the brisket was extremely dry to the point we didn't finish it. Not sure if we got a bad cut or if it was over cooked. -pistachio latte: this was great and not too sweet - vibe: the interior design is really pretty , and it looks like a great place to eat with friends or a date. However I probably wouldn't come back Service charge is 20% already included btw !

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I made easy reservations on Yelp and were seated quick once we got there. They didn't require the whole party to be seated which is a plus. The staff overall were great and the ambiance was dim and intimate. One gripe I had was that they offered still or bottled water, but wasn't given the tap option. My boyfriend, who was the only one at the restaurant, was clueless to this concept and said "still." At the end of the night, we were slapped with $7 a bottle on the bill. We had 4 bottles. I was so mad because he didn't know but they also didn't inform him that it was going to be $7 a bottle, otherwise he would have said no. I was wondering why no one ever came to fill our cups but now I know. It would have been nice if they were upfront about the cost. Granted most people who go to $$$ are aware of the cost but not cool to take advantage of the uninformed. Now to the food. I came with a large party so we all ordered a lot of different items and I was able to try a lot of them. -Ube Gnocchi $21 - This was sour for my liking. They were heavy on the lime and small in portion. I think the Gnocchi was well made but personally I would pass this. -Lechon $28 - this was HUGE but it should be for the price. The meat was tender and the flavors were nice. Good one to try. -Soto Betawi $32 - This was a interesting dish. It was a little heavy from the creaminess and oil. The short rib felt overcooked for me. It was hard and chewy. To try sure but I wouldn't order this again. -Rendang Carbonara $24 - This definitely felt like a classic pasta dish. I did enjoy the flavors on this one but again, I felt the short ribs were overcooked. If in the mood for noodles, I would recommend this one. I asked the rest of my party what they thought of the meal. It is a little pricier and we thought the food was just ok, nothing to write home about and probably wouldn't come again. Food presentation was great, ambiance is nice, staff were great, but food overall was average.

This is a small Market that has a little bit of everything that you're looking for from Southeast Asia. It's like a 7-Eleven, Filipino style. It's fun to look at the various items available here. You will always end up with more than just what you were looking for. I enjoy the cracker nuts, dried mangoes, and specialty dried items. Their selection of items is always changing so I like to look at what's new and on display. I will sometimes ask the front counter what just came in. The Fresh Deli, located up a small incline to the left as you enter the market, is spectacular. The flavor of the food permeates the entrance to the market. They have an incredible selection of fresh made food. It is difficult to make a decision between the different items. I asked for some help from the gentleman behind the counter. I've dealt with Christian, Gabriel and Abraham and all three are knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to explain how some of the food was prepared and the special attention that was given to each individual item. I wanted to limit myself to two items. I decided on the special marinated Beef Caldereta and the Lechon Kawali. On another trip I decided to try the Pork Tochino and the Barbecue Chicken Skewers. I can't tell you how happy I am with the flavors of the food from the deli. Everything was done to perfection. The Chicken skewers were tender and moist with a great barbecue flavor. The Toccino had a nice marinade flavor and was not too sweet. The Lechon was tender and had enough fat to give it a great flavor and texture. I have to admit the Caldereta was my favorite. Great taste, texture, and just the right spices to give it a little kick. The rice and noodles were a perfect accompaniment. All the sauces I was given added to the flavor of all the dishes. At the cash register at the front counter I paid for my items and asked about other items coming in in the near future. I found out that they are not always sure what's going to become available but always looking for something that will make their customers happy. This is truly a family establishment. I found out that everybody there is related. They definitely give exceptional service and quality merchandise, and delicious food. I look forward to coming back and trying many other items both in their market area as well as the Deli.

The 4 Piece Indonesian Fried Chicken with rice is an absolute must. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The crust is insanely crispy, the seasoning is perfect, and the Indonesian dipping sauce ties it all together in a way that's completely unique. This alone is worth the drive. The Hawaiian plates are equally impressive. The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the beef and chicken were perfectly marinated -- sweet, savory, and deeply flavorful. The restaurant is basically takeout only, and the inside is very simple and worn down. That said, the person taking our order was extremely friendly, which made the experience much better right away. After checking Yelp, I decided to order the Indonesian fried rice, BBQ chicken, and fried chicken. The fried rice was easily the highlight. I got it spicy, and it had a nice kick that made it feel more special. I'm not sure if this is part of the Indonesian style, but there were little bits of noodles mixed into the fried rice, which made it unique and really tasty. It also had a generous amount of meat inside, and the portion was huge. It was probably one of the best fried rice dishes I've had recently. The BBQ chicken was solid too. It had that tasty Hawaiian-style plate lunch feel, came with mac salad, and was seasoned well. The fried chicken was a little mixed for me. The crispy outside was good, but the chicken itself had a slight off taste, like it didn't feel as fresh as I hoped. Not terrible, but definitely not my favorite item. Overall, Top Restaurant surprised me in a good way. The place itself is very no-frills, but the fried rice alone makes it worth coming back. I'd definitely return for that.

The Kare Kare from Spoon & Pork is nothing short of a warm, comforting hug in a bowl…read more When the dish arrived at my table, I was immediately drawn to its rich, golden peanut sauce -- smooth and fragrant, with a roasted nuttiness that made my mouth water before I even took a bite. Nestled in the sauce were vibrant, perfectly cooked vegetables: tender bok choy, slightly charred green beans, and slices of eggplant that had soaked up all the savory depth of the stew. At the heart of the dish lay generous chunks of beef -- fork-tender, deeply flavored, with just enough fat to melt into the sauce and give it that rich, silky mouthfeel Kare Kare is known for. Sprinkled over the top were crunchy bits, adding a satisfying contrast to every spoonful. Of course, the small side of bagoong (fermented shrimp paste) was essential -- a modest dollop transformed each bite, balancing the sweetness and creaminess of the peanut sauce with a punch of briny intensity. Paired with steaming garlic rice, every scoop felt like the perfect blend of textures and flavors, a true homage to the Filipino classic. Eating Spoon & Pork's Kare Kare felt both nostalgic and elevated -- the heart and soul of a traditional comfort food presented with an eye for freshness and balance. It's the kind of dish that makes you slow down, savor each bite, and immediately start planning your next visit.

4.5 stars. Sorry,…read moreguys - I'm still catching up on my reviews and am kicking myself for failing to write this before Spoon & Pork permanently shut its doors. This was an unforgettable eatery. During our trip to Los Angeles in May, 2023, Wendell invited Jay, Z and me to meet up with Veda and him for a late lunch at 2 PM at one of their favourite Filipino restaurants, Spoon & Pork, on Sunday, the 7th. Spoon & Pork, which originated as a food truck, was a restaurant that specialized in Filipino comfort food with a contemporary twist. They offered a fresh, inventive fusion of the flavours of the Philippines with modern sophistication. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood, Spoon & Pork was a cozy boutique eatery on bustling Sunset Boulevard that greeted guests with a neon pig sign at their front entrance. No private lot on this busy street, so finding nearby parking was a bit challenging and although the charming spot offered both indoor and al fresco dining, seating was also limited. The tropical-inspired dining room with warm wood accents created an effortlessly cool and relaxed atmosphere that felt both modern and rooted in tradition. Upon entry, guests were welcomed by the aroma of sizzling meats and fragrant spices which alluded to the culinary journeys to come. The food at Spoon & Pork wasn't exactly what one's nanay (mom) or lola (grandma) would cook. Celebrating fresh takes on the richness of Filipino cuisine, the menu was an invitation to indulge in unexpected, compelling twists on a thoughtfully curated selection of traditional dishes, infusing familiar flavours into new forms. Below are what we ordered: beef tapa ($25) - MASARAP (DELICIOUS)! Of all the dishes that we ordered, this was the winner of them all as the succulent meat packed a punch of flavour. adobo tofu ($14) - One of Wendell's regular orders, this notable plant-based option, was a tasty, innovative take on the Philippine classic that balanced tradition with modern creativity. laing ($9) - From their platito, small plates section, this bowl of coconut braised taro leaves was rich and creamy deliciousness, but, yes, mini in portion size. garlic rice ($4/$7) - Ordering the garlic rice over plain jasmine rice was a no brainer. Thoroughly infused with the savouriness of the many bits of garlic, this rice perfectly paired with all of the other dishes. bistek ($28) - The skirt steak was very tender and the sauce perfectly balanced the tanginess from the calamansi juice with the savoury soy sauce. lechon kawali ($23) - Another reimagined classic dish featuring crispy, golden pork belly with crunchy skin and tender, flavourful meat inside. The dish was complemented by a tangy, pickled red cabbage that enhanced the crispy texture and added a refreshing contrast. This mastery of flavour and texture tickled Z's tastebuds and won him over. Before this day, Z was never a fan of Filipino food. Everything tasted boldly rich and every bit intensely intoxicated our taste buds. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. What a remarkably epicurean feast and delightful experience we enjoyed! We're super bummed that Spoon & Pork permanently closed shoppe. Z and I were hoping to return for another tasty meal. Truly, a worthy spot this place was to hit up for an impressively creative taste of the Philippines in Los Angeles.

Located on the busy streets of Melrose. Parking is most definitely a challenge. We circled around twice and had no luck so we ended up parking closed to 2 blocks away in a residential area. We were committed to trying Kuya Lord's food. Once we arrived the location was close to capacity. We came on a Saturday right around 2:30pm. They offer some tables outside and mostly high top table seating inside with one lower table that is wheel chair accessible. We decided on a few ala carte dishes to share and a Mexican Coke because why not!? We ordered: Prime Beef Short Ribs (savory) Pork Longganisa (sweet) Java Garlic Rice (pint/2 scoops) Tomate Cucumber Salad The staff was kind enough to bring all the shareable plates and orders as it all came out. First impressions, great presentation and aromatics with each dish. Everything was freaking amazing! Chef is a James Beard award winner and I can see why. These are Filipino dishes that I loved eating as a kid and it's elevated on a number of levels. They reminded of me of vacation in the Philippines and eating in the comfort of home. That Java Garlic Rice though! It's SPECIAL! It's one of the most memorable things on the menu. It's one of a kind rice I've not had before. The mix of sweet and savory with the freshness of a salad created a great dining experience for us. We unintentionally created our own family menu. I'm all for supporting my culture and my heritage and I'm glad my wife and I were blessed to try this food. Honestly, I can say this was some of best homestyle dishes of Filipino food I've eaten. Kuya Lord has found a way to elevate our simples dishes and maximize all the right balance of flavors that highlights what our Filipino Cuisine represents to all types of people. I can co-sign that in my personal opinion, Kuya Lord's is worth the hype! I absolutely loved it! I would make this drive and take time to find parking because it was that good to me! Salamat, Kuya Lord! ( ^_^)b

I texted them and received a response very very quickly. I placed the order at 3:30pm with a delivery scheduled for the next day at 9am; that's how last minute I was on this and I am so grateful they could fulfill the order because the food is DELICIOUS! I ordered a half tray of lumpia and a half tray of turon and they arrived hot, fresh, and crispy! I definitely enjoyed a few before bringing it to work. The turon was especially good because it wasn't overly sweet like others I've had. There's is just the right amount! The order was delivered about 15 minutes before the scheduled time and it went very smoothly; very friendly service with the delivery guy. There were other trays of lumpia and turon at the potluck but my coworkers raved about the flavor and crispiness of the food from Pinot Eats. I highly recommend them for your catering needs and I'm definitely saving their number for all of mine. Thanks Pinoy Eats!

We shared a couple of dishes: -Lechon Kawali: Crunchy, savory, and fried nicely. Loved the flavor and texture and how it wasn't overly fatty. The dark sauce it came with was good, but I think the brown sauce (like mang tomas) was a bit too sweet. -Grilled Chicken Inasal. Succulent meat, a good charred flavor, and crispy skin. There were some dry bits though. This also paired well with the chicken oil and dark sauce. -Adobo Rice: My friends really liked this one. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. I liked the additions of the fried pork adobo pieces on top but the sauce they were coated in was a bit too salty. The interior is colorful and cozy. The service here was great and the staff were super friendly. They even allowed my friend to bring her small dog inside. There's a good amount of parking in the plaza the restaurant is located in.
