WHAT A FIND! We took a two day trip to LA and needed a safe place for our Pup for daytime. I'm so glad I found BSB! I can't say enough good things but here goes.... 1. The staff was awesome. When I called initially they helped answer all my questions and set up an initial evaluation appointment. 2. Love that they do an evaluation before letting dogs into daycare. They made sure she was friendly and well-behaved (which I knew my dog is...but I felt better knowing every dog was looked at if they were going to be around my dog!). 3. Supervised play area. There's always someone in there with them. 4. The dogs have access to go outside. Secure area but I loved knowing she could go out to do her business. 5. They offered that we could call and check in if we wanted. Honestly I felt so comfortable leaving her w them I didn't even feel the need. 6. They post on their Instagram often so we got a glimpse of her while we were out...love! 7. Prices I felt were reasonable. $30 for full day of daycare. Based on daycare only - I take my dog here once a week and he loves it. When I first started taking him you could buy a ten day pack for $220 but they are raising that price to $270 as of January 1st which is definitely a huge increase to me. The staff is always extremely nice and, from what I have seen, has always remembered everyone and who their dogs are. My dog has never come home with any scratches or anything that could be from rough play, but it always exhausted and sleeps for days after so I know he's getting great play time. The downside of Bone Sweet Bone is that the cameras for the play areas never work. I would have easily given 5 stars if they did because I think it's a huge comfort to owners to be able to watch their pet in the care of someone else. read more

I DO NOT recommend bringing your pet here! I had heard great things about this facility through friends and decided to have my dog boarded for an evening after a last minute trip came up. While I was there I mentioned what days & times I would be dropping off, and picking up my dog. I then asked how much it would be and the lady quoted me $45.99 for one night of boarding since she would only be there for one night. They asked for her vaccine records, which I gave, but her bordatella had expired. They assured me that it was no problem and they would give it to her when I dropped her off. When I was coming back from out of town to pick her up I got stuck in traffic. I called the front desk and the lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude. I told her I might be about 10-15 minutes late but that I was on my way. She told me that they close at 4 they do not release any dog after 4pm. I again told her I'm rushing back as fast as I can and I would be there about 10 to 15 minutes after 4. She then said she would only stay an extra 10 minutes otherwise she would LOCK UP and I would have to pay for ANOTHER boarding fee and wait until Monday morning to pick her up!! It clearly states on their website "Working late? Hot Date? Traffic jam? Whatever the reason is for running late, just call us- BSB has your back!". That quote apparently is NOT true. They could care less. And threatening to leave so I couldn't get my dog back, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?! When I did get there she told me the charge was wayyyy more than the original quote. She charged me over $70+! I asked her why and she said because my pet was there for over 24 hours. Even though I had given the times on the day prior to dropping my pet off, no mention was made of the extra charges! The BIGGEST PROBLEM I have was when I picked up my pet I had asked if she had received her bordatella vaccine and the lady said they forgot!! Not giving her the vaccine, that they SPECIFICALLY required, not only put MY dog in danger, but all the other pets in their care too. How am I to know that all the other pets in the facility were given the proper vaccines before coming into contact with everyone else?! When she said they had forgot, she then told me I could come back to receive it anytime but I would still HAVE TO PAY! I emailed the owner about all of this and I got NO RESPONSE! This place is a joke. Very VERY upset! read more

Absolutely love them!! My pup has separation anxiety, so I've been taking him here for daycare since we moved to LA. He loves everybody who works here, and they clearly love him too - he always comes home happy and thoroughly tired out from running around all day! I've also had them give him a few baths, and he always comes home smelling great & with an adorable bandana on. Prices are reasonable, even better if you buy the packs of daycare days. They're also pretty active on Instagram, so you can usually catch your pup on their stories. Can't speak highly enough of BSB! read more

There are cameras in the rooms but the monitors with the video feed are not turned on except momentarily for customer requests Subjective: I was admittedly put off by the scowling staff member who seemed to hate every aspect of her job. I totally get if you don't like people, but why are you working at a dog daycare if you don't have any interest in dogs either? Bottom Line: Price makes no sense for the level of care and supervision provided. This place is priced comparably to others in the area that devote way more attention to pups and are much more informed on the best ways to care for them. read more

I really enjoy bringing my dog here. He goes in excited and comes out extremely exhausted. I am quite upset with today however. I was told on Tuesday 3/12 that I had two days left on his 10 Day pass. I could have paid for a half day but decided to use one of the two days left because it was only a few dollars worth a difference. After I told them to use the pass I was explicitly told I had one day left. I pick him up today with the intention of using the last day on the pass and was told I have to pay for a full day as my 10 Day Pass has been used up. I tried explaining to the receptionist what I was told on 3/12 and that I wouldn't have brought him in today if I knew the pass was done and she didn't budge. She said the last day was used on 3/12 which was the day I was told I had two left and used one of those two days. I think that is extremely unfair to me and was not happy that I was being told to either pay for a full day or buy a new pass and use the pass for today as either option isn't necessarily feasible for me at the moment, which is why I wouldn't have brought him in if I knew my pass was done. I ended up paying for a full day, and if it has to remain that I have to pay that, so be it. I would recommend BSB telling their clients what their Pass status is upon dropping their dog off rather than picking up to avoid instances like this happening. read more

I hate writing negative reviews and only do so if I find it absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, one too many things have gone wrong with my Bone Sweet Bone experiences. I just went to pick up my dog from his daycare/grooming appointment and they charged me $80 (they are outrageously priced here) and then went to get my dog. They brought out the WRONG dog and handed it to me to take home! Not only that, but they have given the bath and groom that was intended for my dog and that I paid for to the WRONG dog! My dog spent the entire day there and did not get a bath or haircut! Nothing! The month prior to this, my dog got groomed there and they CUT his skin open while grooming him to the point that it was bleeding when I took him home! The groomers must have clearly known that this happened, but no one mentioned a single word about it to me, nor did they make the situation right in any way. They are insanely overpriced, they have cameras, but you are not able to watch them, they do not allow you to tour the facility if considering an overnight stay for your dog, they have mis-charged me twice, etc., etc. Today was my final straw and I will NOT be back. I hope everyone else has a much better experience, but I felt that I needed to share mine. read more

I was very hesitant about writing a review but honestly, I'm SO disappointed by this place. I've taken my dogs here for boarding about 6 times. EVERYTIME they over charged me and I had to call and have it adjusted or ask them to adjust it at the facility. I had my dog boarded in October for 4 days and picked him up and low and behold he had gotten Kennel Cough. I called the manager and explained and since it was clearly from their facility, asked if they could help with the vet bills. They declined and said it wasn't their responsibility. Fine.. whatever. I JUST PICKED MY DOG UP FROM A WEEK THERE AND HE HAS KENNEL COUGH AGAIN!!!!! Seriously?? $700 in boarding fees and now I'm going to have to shell out another $200 in vet fees because my dog got Kennel Cough AGAIN from boarding with them. I spoke with the manager and all he said was he's sorry. You would expect for them to at least offer a discount considering this was A LOT of money I gave them for boarding and this is the SECOND TIME IN A ROW my dog gets sick from staying with them. PS. My dog is up to date on vaccinations. UGH - so frustrated and I feel SO taken advantage of financially from them. read more

Had to check in and give this review because there were a couple things that the staff either was completely confused, or dishonest about. My fiancé and I brought our 4 month old puppy here this morning for doggie daycare. He's a large breed dog, so he's already pretty large for his age. Bone Sweet Bone said they might have to put him with the big dogs, but that they were going to start him off with the puppies, which is at the front and visible through the glass window they have on the street. After checking our puppy in, my fiancé waited outside the window so he could watch the puppies playing together. He waited for about five minutes, but they never brought our dog in. Which was a little strange - but maybe they took him for a walk or something. At 4pm we called to check in and see how things were going. They said that he was being super shy and not playing with the other puppies, which is weird to me because he's not like that at the dog park at all, but I was glad to hear that since it was his first day and thought that being with the bigs dogs could overwhelm him on his first day (he pretty much steers clear of all the large breed dogs at the dog park). When I got there to pick him up, I asked where he was because he wasn't in the front room where they put the puppies. They said he was in the back, with the big dogs. I asked why they put him with the big dogs and they said because he was being too rough with the puppies. I just find it hard to believe that in the final hour (I picked him up at 5:30 p.m.) he suddenly went from shy to too much to deal with. Really makes me wonder how much of this story is true. I asked to see the big dog room that they put him in and they wouldn't let me, but said that they could turn on the TV so I could see him on video through their cameras. None of the cameras showed any dogs other than the puppies, which are already visible from the front window! When I mentioned that they said that the camera for the big dog section might be broken. I was like "might be?" And they were like "we think there's a camera, and that it's not working, we would have to ask." So... there may not actually be a camera there at all. If there is a camera, it's definitely broken and they have no idea when or if it's ever going to be fixed - that part is for sure. I asked the girl at the front desk if other people asked about the cameras too. She said yes. So, they obviously know it's a concern. It's just so weird that they didn't seem to know whether or not there was a camera in there at all. They told us we would be able to watch our dog, which in the end wasn't true, so I'm really disappointed. Obviously I would want to see what other dogs my dog is stuck in a room with for 6 hours with. Finally, when they brought my dog out, he was wet. It was POURING rain today, so I didn't think twice about it since being out for even five minutes would drench anyone - dog or human. But then the girl said something weird about it. "Sorry he's all wet, it was the other dogs." What does that even mean? I asked what she meant and she said "he was outside." But what did the other comment even mean - the other dogs... ? Just got a weird vibe from this place, I think it's REALLY weird that they don't let you see where they keep the dogs indoors, and I unfortunately can't come back or write a super positive review (which I almost always do on Yelp). Additionally, now that I've re-scoured the reviews and noticed that one of the other dogs that came here got kennel cough, twice, I'm definitely wary. Just needed to share so other people knew better which questions to ask and things to check on when they're here and a better idea of some of the lesser qualities behind the 4 and 1/2 star review. read more

BREED DISCRIMINATORS!! BEWARE. I met with the staff in person about boarding my dogs, a shizu mix and a boxer/pit mix, I even showed them a picture. When we showed up, tails-a-wagging for the eval we scheduled, the manager said, "sorry, we have breed restrictions." He said it was for insurance reasons. Thank god I had also made appointments at the other 3 boarding places on this stretch of Ventura. I called them and they DON'T have the same restrictions. If your dog is well socialized breed is not a problem. If you're a fan of rescues and especially pit bulls stay away from this place! What's ironic is they may have had a case to not allow the little shizu... she can be vicious! ;-) read more

My doggies just returned from daycare, grooming and overnight stay. YES I have proof they played (of course they did)... these people are dog lovers you can tell from the moment you walk in. They were nice enough to take a day stay and make it an overnight stay for my babies Christmas and Louie. Not only did Vanessa show me the play area before hand, (enclosed, safe) filled with toys and other small breeds but Santiago posted photos on Twitter & Facebook so when I got home late that evening I was able to see photos of my boys playing. Very reassuring and nice of them. When I picked them up they were clean, soft- their ears have been cleaned and nails clipped each with matching bandanas. See profile pic here.. Daycare starts as early as 7am but doggies need a brief evaluation first (approx 15 minutes). There is a seperate play area for small doggies and they have lots of toys and grass to play on. There is always someone there to supervise especially for overnight stays, which is a plus. They also provide teeth cleaning every tuesday and have a deal for unlimited teeth cleaning for $50 and teeth scaling for about $92 each dog and no anesthesia. Everyone is so warm and friendly and all the doggies in the play area are well kept and friendly, very reassuring to know there is a home away from home in Studio City. read more

I've been happily bringing my Aussie Shepherd to be groomed here for about 6 months or so, and it has been really great. Today I picked him up and he was acting really strange and sulky, which he NEVER is unless he is sick. When I got him home I checked his gums and in his ears.. lo and behold there is cotton wool still inside his ears! I pulled it out easily from one.. the other ear was a different story. It was jammed reallllly far down there.. It took a good 2 mins to get it out. I was so shocked, I called them right away to notify them - they didnt answer so I left a voicemail (Haven't heard back yet). The grooming job was also really bad this time. They shaved his hind legs and genital area which they never normally do.. and it looks like a 10 year old has done it! Very patchy and uneven. Super unhappy. I'll be asking for a refund if and when they get back to me. Sucks that this place has gone downhill. read more

My dog was injured by a groomer here on Tuesday and the owner will not call me back. He had to be taken to the vet within an hour of being picked up and is now in a cone and on pain meds and eye drops to try and heal the injury caused by staff. He also has bruising on his ribs and abrasions on his stomach. I am appalled that the owner of this establishment has made zero attempt to get in touch with me. I've spoken with the management 4 times and not once have I even heard anyone say they were sorry for what happened. Do NOT bring your dogs here. They were friendly and knowledgeable ( come to find out the owner was a vet assistant for many years, that I liked) They provided me with a tour of the premises and it was clean , well supervised, open and there were many happy dogs!! Anyways they were able to take "Frankie" on the spot provided I had proof of his vaccinations ..This I thought was a blessing. I am always very concerned when I do not hear groomers insist on this documentation. I was so pleased with his haircut,the way they handled him..(hes nippy) and reasonable price, not to mention some free advice. I enrolled him in doggy daycare the next week..Awesome! My little "Frankie" had a blast,and they provided me with much needed details (only a parent could enjoy) of his day in "daycare" when I got there! and the price was beyond reasonable!!!!! I met a lady on Runyon canyon who had her yorkie in "Bone Sweet Bones " daycare for years and had nothing but praise I loved this place and trusted them completely with the care of my "Frankie"... I've been a customer at Bone Sweet Bone since I got my first dog (3.5 years ago) and both my dogs (and I) love this place. The owner and the staff are all very courteous and seem to genuinely care for their charges - my dogs both got Christmas goodie bags, and I've even gotten a Mother's Day card signed with my dog's actual paw print. Often, they'll have seen my car pulling up out front and have my dogs on the leash and ready to go by the time I walk in the front door. They have great weekday hours (7 a.m. - 8 p.m.) so I don't have to sweat if my workday is running long. Their day care and boarding prices are VERY reasonable compared to others in the area; and most important of all for people who need to leave their dogs somewhere for extended periods of time - they have CAGE-FREE boarding. Because I'd always relied on house/dog sitters in the past, I had no idea how many boarding services keep dogs crated up for over 20 hours a day, only taking them out for brief periods of exercise. We have been bringing Cabella, our chiweenie, to Bone Sweet Bone for one year and it's been nothing but a positive experience. She is always worn out after a long day of playing at day care. There were a couple of times when we were running late to pick her up by the 8 PM deadline, and they were still very courteous and even called to remind us. The renovations they did over the summer have made the facility quite nice and much bigger. They also were accommodating in boarding her during a last-minute trip to Big Bear over the holidays. I brought my dog here for overnight boarding because it has great reviews on grooming so I figured it must be good for boarding. Well here goes....the owner and staffs are are really friendly and the facility is small but clean. BUT....my dog was SUPER SUPER energetic when I picked him up after two days of overnight stay. He has been boarded before on several occasions and he was always exhusted. Now, I have no proof if he did or did not get to play with other dogs or not but it's so strange to me that he was so flipping energetic and clean! Normally, my dog smells because he was playing with other dogs or he's tired. The price here for overnight is $42 for 24 hours. I'm not sure if I will bring him back again.....he was safe and sound but if he was crated all day then he's all couped up.... read more

We have been bringing our pooch here for a year, for daycare and boarding. We went to a bunch of places before finding this one (LA Dogworks, Fetch etc). We found Bone Sweet Bone way more personable and affordable. I feel like these guys love my dog as much as I do. The downside compared to some other places - our dog often comes home a little stinky. This is obviously understandable - but a little wipe-down on exit would be a nice touch. Also, the opportunity for 24hr pickup has not yet been introduced. But they're working on it! read more

We recently adopted a chihuahua mix who was super timid. We started bringing her here because we live nearby and the place is very cute. Our dog has started to really like it here, she whines when we take her home. This is amazing, she started out a timid dog who would panic when we dropped her off and now she loves it, and its only been a few weeks.
