Made reservations two weeks in advance for Valentine's Day. When we arrived, the restaurant was beyond standing room only and people were being hit by the revolving door as there was no place to move... Probably a fire hazard...We were told it would be more than an hour for our table as they were too busy... Definitely a sign that they overbooked their reservations. I understand it was going to be busy as it was Valentine's Day and we might have had to wait a few minutes, but 60+ minutes was unacceptable. Needless to say we had to leave as it was too cold to stand outside and very uncomfortable standing shoulder-to-shoulder with all others waiting and didn't want to start eating at 9:00 or after. I didn't give them a 1 star as I have been there before and know they have better service than what was experienced last night. Hoping in the future they will realize the value of taking care of their customers who plan accordingly. It's not all about the $$$. Will have a hard time thinking of returning. read more

We used to love this Bonefish - but like Outback, something is amiss with this company - there was a time you'd stand in line to get into an Outback 7 days a week after 6pm - and even Bonefish had a waiting list - we have indeed eaten in this restaurant many times since about 2008 and almost always there was a wait on the weekends for sure, and the food was either very good or excellent. Not so this past Sunday - we decided to treat ourselves to some Chilean Bass - we have had it here before and it was very good - sweet, succulent and almost as rich and tasty as crab meat - but boy of boy, this time was radically different - I left a third of it on my plate and when I pay $30 for this fish, I eat every morsel. Perhaps this is not the right time of year and they are buying it frozen or they are getting it from some other waters because it was very fishy tasting and did not taste anything like the past (normally "fishyness" is a by-product of being frozen - where most "fresh" seafood is held at 29 degrees and there is no fishy aftertaste, this surely was frozen solid, perhaps for a long time - not good!) Even the Bang Bang shrimp was different this time, they changed the sauce or something - it was okay but not like it has been in the past. And it was not hot - almost like it was at room temperature - I prefer to know my seafood has been cooked and served hot. Our server was excellent, super attentive and I did not mention our disappointment because we did not want to spoil our mood and it was not her fault - the bread was very good as usual. I also order sauteed spinach and I would have preferred sauteed in butter - this was sauteed in some type of oil and had no flavor. Not sure I'll ever order Chilean Bass again after this experience but normally this Bonefish is great - they sure missed the mark this time however. read more

This weekend we decided on a chain rather than our usual local restaurant for dinner. We arrived to a busy Bonefish on a Saturday night at 7. Once we got through the crowded revolving door and our names on the list we were told it would be about 40 minute wait. We decided to wait. The only bad experience there was the cocktail waitress. She made eye contact with us numerous times only to walk right by us and ask every single group of people waiting if they'd like to order a cocktail. She ignored us. At 8 we got our table and our server heather was prompt and put together. She was knowledgeable about the specials and very friendly without being too casual or being off putting. We had the Stella cidre which was an awesome craft beer special. We started with the Bang bang shrimp which was delicious. I had the mahi special. Mahi grilled and topped with lobster and crab in a sherry sauce over their garlic mashed potatoes and a side of spaghetti squash. He had a medium rare sirloin with the crab cake, garlic mashed potatoes and spaghetti squash. The food was delicious, our server was exceptionally attentive and I'm dying to know, besides brown sugar what else is added to that spaghetti squash!!! I love every bit of that meal. This is my second time to this bonefish and this time around the experience was much better. The gal that seat me and my kids to a table took great care of us to make sure the kids has a good seat and they knew it was ok to write on the table tops. The calamari was good and the entrees were good as well. I had the lobster and my hubby had the shrimp and scallops. Overall a good night out for a quick bite! The restaurant wasn't too crowded and we had made reservations as this location is known for their long wait times. We arrived early to have a few drinks at the bar. The bartender was aloof and cold. When we said "thank you," she responded with a curt, "ah hum." My husband's dinner arrived cold which ruined the dining experience for both of us. By the time his reheated dish came back at the table, my meal was cold. Tonight my husband had the special misoyaki sea bass with jasmine rice & spinach! Delicious! My 19 yr old daughter had the Tilapia Imperial with whipped potatoes & sautéed spinach ! Amazing! We went to the Bonefish Grill after a grueling day following a death in our family. It was a sad and unexpected death and there was a lot of grief present. The care and compassion that we received from the waiter and the manager amazed us. We didn't even realize they were aware of our situation. The food and service were really great. The only reason I'm giving Bonefish 2 stars is we were placed near the kitchen. Shortly after our food was brought out 4 to 5 of the wait staff lined up behind my girlfriend in front of the wine wall. So the rest of our dinner consisted of anytime I'd look at my girlfriend I'd be looking into the faces of 4 to 5 wait staff giggling and laughing. I don't think they were staring at us but it was super awkward anytime I'd look forward because at any given time when I'd look up they would look at me. Ruined my experience here. Made reservations for early Christmas Eve dinner for a group of 5 of us. Started off with excellent martinis and margarita. One minor personnel irritation is when a martini is delivered and it's not filled to the top. On this occasion, it seemed like it was barely over 3/4 full. Other than that, the drinks were perfect and served quickly. Our server was very helpful, polite, and very attentive. We were able to swap around some of the sides, since no one seemed enthused to take the standard 'squash' as a side. All fish and steak were cooked perfect and served hot. A minor annoyance was with a gift card promotion they have running, where if you buy a $100 gift card, you get a $20 card to spend after the New Year. We attempted to purchase the card upon our entrance, but were told that they wouldn't honor using the $100 card that night. Overall, a great meal and good time. read more

Probably the best table servers in the area. We find that their appetizers are so great that we sometimes just have drinks and some appetizers. Comfortable table settings, good food, and good drink. Can be difficult wait during peak dinner hours as the bar is jumping and space is limited. Only downer is the noise level.....they could damp it some in the dining room. read more

For my birthday, I wanted to go to Bonefish. For the most part all went well, aside from my cosmo sitting up at the bar for 10 mins and my order of Mac and cheese not getting put in with the rest of the order, and observing the cook eating in the kitchen. For many years I have ordered the creme brûlée for dessert, when dining at a bonefish. We decided to get the creme brûlée and try the strawberry shortcake which we had never ordered. Our hostess returns to tell us that creme brûlée is not available. So we settled for trying the strawberry shortcake... when Susan brings out the shortcake we notice it is a lot of biscuit, whipped creme and fruit, neither of us was interested in seeing how it would turn out, so we opted not to try it... I let Susan know, I have never been to a bonefish where they didn't have creme brûlée available...wasn't like they ran out, we were her first customers of the evening... any who, she goes on to explain, that they had the creme brûlée but the torch apparatus was not working, and I would be better off going to another establishment for creme brûlée even recommended a place that she felt had much better creme brûlée... all I have to say is the situation could have been handled much differently, it was my bday and I will never pick this place as a spot for a special occasion, because of the outcome. Could have at least given me a gift certificate to cover the creme brûlée when it became available....I did tell her I always order the creme brûlée when placing my dessert order... read more

The place was packed even though it was just 543 on a Saturday afternoon. Having FINALLY gotten out of the house for a date we were looking forward to a nice dinner and some wine apre-matinee. Feeling deflated by the stated one hour forty-five minute wait we shuffled into the bar. Surprisingly we saw several openings on the hightop tables. Imagine our glee when a cheery waitress greeted us with waters and a full menu. Date night was not to be thwarted and we settled in with a hug. The wine list was decent, I must say. We targeted a 2012 Sonoma Chard right from the get go. The bang bang shrimp were tasty fried shrimp with goop suitable for the American palette -- served on some shredded lettuce to mitigate the indulgence. We chose two grilled seafood entrees. Each was to come with the grilled vegetables du jour and a side. The veg was couscous! Now that is creative interpretation even by US nutritional standards. Although we were told we could substitute spuds for this non-veg we were assessed a one dollar upcharge on the bill. If not for this slight of chef's hand, Bonefish would have been heralded with four stars. The rare tuna and the shrimp were grillicious. The scallops were overtoasted. Good thing we got the sauces on the side -- asian was a bit sweet and non-descript, lemon and butter put my triglycerides in the red zone - yum. We enjoyed intermittent interactions with other couples sitting next to and across from us. The young daters to the right acclaimed that dinner was "way better than Chipotle". The snowbirds to our left shared their pinot with us while we trade horror stories of freezing rain. Another gentleman got the evil eye from his wife when he asked to sit where he could see the game on tv. Overall a medley of social intercourse while waitress Jackie was attentive and perky. My other half and I went to Bonefish in the 'Burg tonight and I was NOT impressed. It's been a long time since I've been to a Bonefish, and for the life of me, I was honestly a little flabbergasted that the wait staff was wearing white chef coats. When our waitress finally arrived, I was still in awe? of their attire, that she just stared at me. As someone who is trained in a kitchen, it is a little unnerving. I got over it long enough to order hot tea and the wagyu pot stickers. The hot tea was a favorite of mine, and I was quite pleased that they had taken the time to remember to leave room for cream for me. The pot stickers took quite a while, and we had even asked for bread, which came out after the pot stickers. We had to wait five minutes for side plates, and then another two for chopsticks after getting our pot stickers. Maybe I was just annoyed because I hadn't eaten in a while, but it seemed like a really piss-poor team effort. The pot stickers themselves were okay. The bold, rich flavors of the Asian spices took away from the flavor of the beef. It was obviously tender, but I felt like they could have used a "cheaper" cut of meat and had the same flavor results. It was just kind of disappointing. For our entrees, my other half ordered the shrimp and scallops with the mango salsa, seasonal veggies, and couscous. Those were pretty good, actually. I wasn't so lucky. I ordered the special salmon with the crab filling, jasmine rice, and broccoli. The salmon was so dry and over that the white just seeped out of it, the jasmine rice was gummy and overcooked, and the broccoli was great. I sent it back. The salmon, not only dry, tasted spoiled, or at least previously frozen and from a cheap grocery store. I then asked for the scallops on the specials menu with the couscous and the broccoli. They came over a creamed jalapeño corn. Everything was pretty good, even though the corn was too spicy. I tried it but didn't eat much and wanted to replace it with the broccoli. Throughout the entire experience, the manager was there, which I appreciated, but she didn't really seem contrite. I felt like just another annoying, bitchy customer being paid lip service. We tried dessert because we were hoping to save some of the evening. We got the coconut cream pie. It was soaked in rum. I think I even got a little buzz. At this point, I felt as though complaining that the coconut pie didn't taste like coconut was just a waste of time. I wanted to finish my tea and go walk around somewhere. We got the bill. No where have I ever gone that I was charged for each cup of hot tea I got. At other chain restaurants that provide hot tea, they do NOT charge you, whether it's Numi, Tea Republic, etc. In addition to that, we were charged for an extra side, even though I spoke to the manager and she said she would allow me to get a different side if I didn't like the corn. I doubt we will ever go back. There are much better restaurants that have a better price point, that don't abuse the product that they have the opportunity to work with, and that refrain from overcharging for meals that result in scathing reviews like my own. Went there yesterday for my birthday. The appetizer was good, we got the calimari. But my entree must be the worst one I have had there. I ordered the lobster stuffed shrimp. What a fraud that was. The shrimp had a ball of baked dough on it, maybe had a sliver of lobster in it but I was not going to eat a ball of dough to get to it. The only good thing on that plate was the broccoli. We visited Bonefish over the last weekend to celebrate BF's birthday. We had the Tuna Sashimi as an appetizer and the cut of Tuna was outstanding. I had the Mahi Mahi as my main course and would give it a 8/10, almost perfect, but could do just a little bit better in terms of flavor. We found her comment insulting, as if we may not be able to pay for the meal. We were seated first, yet the people behind us (not served by Jess) got their entire meal before we got our salad. When it was time to go, I asked for a to go box. The server behind us was only too happy to box her customers food. My server handed me 2 boxes and walked away. Had it been up to Jess, my experience would have been miserable and less than expected. However, there was Larry. Larry cleared our plates from the table. Larry apologized for the food arrival. Kinda overhyped and not anywhere as good as other locations. But I guess when you are one of the few 'upper' scale chains in a big complex like Central Park you scale your expectations accordingly. For the price (which is oddly the same as in NoVa and MontCo locations), I expected that same quality of service and food...but was disappointed. I would consider this restaurant as one of the better places in town. The quality of food is very good and price is reasonable. The fish and chips is superb for its crunchy and flavorful taste (make sure to ask for fries on the side, otherwise fish becomes soggy underneath). The Lily is an excellent dish if you are in the mood for healthy chicken meal. If not sure what to get, just ask Stephannie! Great waitress.
