The Bonefish has always been a huge favorite of mine. I've not been in some time and decided to take the family to dinner there last Saturday. It was a huge disappointment. The service was abysmal, took 20 minutes to get our drinks, had to ask for bread and when it never arrived I had to ask our server again, her response was "we'll get your bread eventually". Our entrees came out two at a time, and when the last two arrived three of our party had already finished. No apologies at all. And the food was not up to their usual standards. Great Bonefish Grill I was invited to come to this Bonefish Grill's location by my girlfriend, and she was very insistent on this particular Bonefish Grill being exceptional. I have great memories at Bonefish Grill, and while I will always prefer supporting local restaurants, I was more than willing to give this chain's location a try. I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was MORE than accommodating to the dietary restrictions of my girlfriend. The Bang Bang Shrimp, while not anything otherworldly, came modified and with their signature sauce. I enjoyed both this appetizer and the salmon meal that my girlfriend and I shared. The salmon itself was nothing special, but for what it was, it was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. If you're looking for a safe place for a date or a work lunch, I think Bonefish is just perfect. I'm confident that you will have a nice experience just as I did. read more

I hadn't been to this location in years and stopped by for lunch today. We came in right at opening and were quickly seated. Our waitress was quick and attentive. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, fish and chips, and ahi tuna sashimi appetizer. All were delicious and fresh. It seems they updated their menu or changed some of the items. On a special occasion we decided to go to Bonefish on Saturday. Unfortunately the air was not working properly. In addition my meal was totally different from prior great visits. Fairfax location- I was debating between Alexandria, Fairfax and Fredericksburg. We decided on FFX because we've never been nor have we been to Alexandria. Big mistake. The service and food was good but the decor and table setting was lacking. The table cloths were stained and looked old. The decor is still in the 1980s' I will not be back. First time at this restaurant. Service was slow. The temperature in the restaurant had to be 80 degrees or more. I was sweating the entire time and did not enjoy my meal. I asked the waitress why it was so hot, and she just said, yeah it's hot and they have me wearing this long sleeve shirt. WOW!! What a delightful,delicious and beautiful little place. My babyluv and I have never been here before, what a shame. We absolutely LOVED it. He ordered salmon, another first, I had fish and chips and we began with calamari, a delight in and of itself, very tender, tempura like batter and delicious, decadent dipping sauce which I also used with my fish (tartar had excessive lemon in it, don't like lemon, weird, I know). Last Saturday, my husband and I went there for lunch because we had a coupon :) We ate there a few times before, but every time I think this place is very clean and smells good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I had the bang bang shrimp tacos and they were delicious. They gave me a generous amount of shrimp and they are very fresh. I had potato gratin for my side and it was very good! My husband had the spicy ahi-tuna bowl. He said the tuna wasn't so spicy but still it was delicious. But the only thing he wasn't excited about this meal was the sauce was too sweet. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and we definitely come here again. We are just waiting for another coupon!!! read more

I've always have enjoyed going to Bone Fish. This was the first time we had come to this location. Our waitress was just so attentive and so informative. Our drinks were tasty and so sharp. When our food came out it was very warm and ready to eat. The Mac and Cheese was out of this world. My Angler Serloin was cooked to perfection. My dates meal was also cooked to perfection. We had a couple of martinis and as I stated before, they were so delish. The restaurant was very clean and so was the bathroom (that's important). If you want a nice dating place this would be it. It's not noisy but it's very comfortable. There's enough seating in the booths for 6 people. The tables were clean and very open. No clutter. Enough room for arms and hand bags. We had not been to a Bonefish Grill in years and after getting a bunch of emails from them over the past year or more, we figured we'd try this location on a Thursday night, when they offer $10 off a bottle of wine. Upon first entering, we were greeted by the hostess (who was really under-dressed wearing a flannel shirt) and the manager; they took us to our seat. On the way there, we looked at and smelled the various entrees on the tables that others were enjoyed and we have to say, they looked and smelled very appetizing! Upon sitting down, we were greeted by our server and we asked about the $10 off bottles on Thursday deal, which she confirmed. So, we selected a wine and asked for a sampling of it, since it was new to us. She asked us if we were ready to order food then and we told her we just sat down, so not yet. She promptly brought back the sample and we ordered a bottle of that wine. She then asked if we wanted to order appetizers and we asked about a salad. She explained the salad to us and put it in. About 4 mins later, the salads showed up, but still no wine and no water. We said that to the runner and she simply threw her hands up and walked away. We found this to be very odd. We told our server this when she got there a few mins later with the wine. We also said we're in no rush, so we don't understand why the food was getting there before the wine and also why the rush in general. Eventually we ordered dinner and that ultimately came. It was very appetizing looking and smelled great too. The taste was really nice and fresh. The potatoes au gratin had chunky, hard, under-cooked potatoes in them and were basically inedible. I told the manager this and he apologized about it. Overall, the visit was very mediocre. Can't see returning. read more

Drinks were good, but when I saw the handling of the food in the kitchen...I WAS DISGUSTED WITH THE LACK OF SANITATION PRACTICES! The food handlers did not use gloves and used their bare hands in preparing the food. I am so disappointed about what I saw. He used his hands to press down the rice in the customer's bowl and to sprinkle garnish toppings. Omg!!! We are in a pandemic, and this negligence. The atmosphere is nice..:: we waited about 10-15 min for the bartender to even acknowledge us and bring a water. Our food took at least 30 min. When we finally got our food everything was barely warm, obviously it sat in the window for quite some time because it was super dry on top and the plates were very hot, my husband didn't even take his to go and I ate 2 bites. The manager comes over offers " to take it to the back and heat it up" ..... then says he's going to take off 30% when nobody ate anything.... Finally he comes back and takes my husbands meal off the bill I still paid for mine.... Honestly the entire experience is so unprofessional and I have worked in customer service for years!!! RJ brought us here for dinner on our drive home from the Keys. I didn't know they had a kids menu. We started with boom boom shrimp which was fantastic! So spicy! And I had a wild orchid Hawaiian martini with guava rum and an edible orchid. Um, I could have had like 12 of these. Why haven't I eaten an orchid before? And guava rum?? OMG!! The kids had the usual burger, mac and cheese, RJ had pad Thai which he loved, and I had incredible cobia covered in crab meat with broccoli and asparagus. Let me start by saying the only reason this review gets 4 stars is because of the very hospitable treatment from the manager: Mr. Larry J. The waitress (Her name is Sam) advised me that "ALL seafood is cooked in the same oil", I said that doesn't make any sense" and I asked her why would they do this when people have shelfish allergies (I was literally ready to leave). She actually said well the oil is so hot it normally kills everything (I swear I can't make this up!) so of course I had to tell her that makes no sense either so I opted for another dish (mind you it wasn't much to choose from in the beginning). When the manager walked by asking if everything was alright, I explained my dismay and he said that information was incorrect, he took the time to explain the cooking process and he stopped the waitress as she walked by to correct her and he was very polite and didn't belittle her, I liked that). Mr. Johnson seemed to be very concerned with our experience (as well as other patrons) and offered to assist in any way possible. Great example of customer service, for that service alone i'll return! Went back to the front after 45 min and they stated they tried to call, which I showed them they never did, one hostess said they gave our table away and another said they were calling to say the wait would be longer, another 30 min. I use to have Bonefish at the upper end of my chain restaurant list. Just spent $140 for dinner for two and was served a crab cake about the size of a silver dollar and instant mashed potatoes. Have not had instant mashed potatoes since I was in my junior high school cafeteria. I asked the waiter about the instant mashed potatoes and he just laughed and said he did not want to give away the restaurants secrets. If you are in Fredericksburg, VA save your money and go the Chili's, TGI Fridays, Texas Roadhouse, Outback or even Ponderosa where they will give you real potatoes. read more

Aw man, I want to be able to give a better rating. Used to frequent here when I previously lived in the area. Decided to eat here for a late lunch. Pretty disappointed. We were one of 3 tables dining in. The service provided by Donald was excellent, but the food...eh. Over priced and equally as over cooked and under desirable. I order the mahi and "jumbo" shrimp combo and my daughter the fish tacos. The mahi was so dry and the shrimp were the opposite of jumbo. My daughter said to send it back but it had already taken too long to get it in the first place and I was incredibly hungry. I get that it's frozen fish, but I have never had such a thin, dry piece of mahi, and for $23. The lemon garlic sauce was flavorful though. The jasmine rice that accompanied the fish tacos was burned (looked like the last scoop at the bottom of the rice cooker) Disappointing to say the least...and to have this be my first bonefish experience in 8 years? Bottom line, I rated this eatery 2 stars, for poor quality food for the price and lackluster service. Service: Waitress was fine, but didn't refill drinks promptly. Our appetizer was not what we ordered, but to their credit they made it right by accidentally delivering extra food. She never really asked how our entree was, and we should have just flagged her down to return it, which was our fault. The best part of our meal was the waitress blaming the kitchen for messing up our order and not here inability to check on us due to what she claimed was an "unexpectedly high volume of customers". We got a good laugh at this because there were more waiters/waitresses than customers when we arrived and left. Obviously we didn't get the MEMO that this restaurant is in decline. Food: The seared Tuna appetizer wasn't really seared but the quality was fine. The lettuce took away from the Tuna and the soy sauce was a little odd. I've been in Japan and Korea and not sure what the goal was here. Wasabi was not fresh either. Unfortunately this was a massive step down in execution over Manna in Fredericksburg. The "Fish and Chips" were well, disgusting. The fish was so greasy my wife actually took the paper out due to it being saturated and the French fries were so greasy they were like noodles. My wife couldn't even finish her meal. The other oddity was portion. My wife received a fair amount but I had about 25% less. Having been to the United Kingdom 3 times I'm used to disappointment but this was beyond the norm. Conclusion: Slightly above the quality of Captain D's for about 400% more in cost, but with great atmosphere. First and last time. Unfortunately it looks like supervision and management are AWOL. read more

My wife and I love Bonefish in general, we go to the one near our home in Wesley Chapel almost every week. We have eaten at this particular Bonefish before with no complaints. Tonight as we celebrate our granddaughters birthday we made reservations before lunch time for 6pm. Upon arrival (30 minutes early) they seemed busy but there were several open prepared tables. We were told it will be closer to our reservation time before we were seated. When I approached the hostess 15 minutes after our reservation time she apologized and had us seated at one of of those opened tabes I saw 45 minutes prior. Overall the service was average but the food was good. Except for mine, my first steak was over cooked and my second was cooked right but the flavor remained in the kitchen. Overall a little disappointing for a caliber restaurant like this. After I posted this we asked for the check and noticed they tried to charge me 2x for my steak, unbelievable, nothing from the manager saying sorry for the first steak being over cooked.
