Came by on a early Saturday evening. Plenty of parking available around 4pm. Inside the host greatest is very well. We had a party of three. Happy hour menus were mostly ordered. Bang bang chicken, tuna nachos, shrimp toast. I had a couple of Bees knees cocktails also. Everything was great until the waitress forgot us for about an hour. Empty water and cocktail glasses and we had to repeatedly request her. Loss of a star for that.hoefully if we return they could earn it back.

My sisters and I came during happy hour and it was so delicious. The drinks were $5 and i absolutely loved my blueberry lemon drop martini. We had great service in the hightop area and the restaurant was quiet and comfy. We didn't feel rushed at all. I'll be back!

Had the pleasure of having a work happy hour here and it's hard not to enjoy yourself when your boss is pulling out his corporate card! hell, he ordered about 5/6 martinis alone. I only did two watermelon joints and they were delicious. Served with frozen watermelon cubes!! And regardless of what drink you order, ask to try the olives with the cheese inside, so delicious! Some of us ordered apps, shrimp, ahi tuna, crab cakes (nah, hell nah go next door to J. Alex), calamari while a few others came later and ordered entrees. We sat at a corner at the bar, 6 of us and it worked nicely. The bartender, wish i remembered her name, was friendly and on it. Younger lady, hispanic I think. The bar was lit, the restaurant wasn't too loud but definitely not quiet.

Food is normally good. This time around I asked for my steak to be medium but when it came out, it was cold and well done. I thought they were going to remake it but they never brought it out but it was removed off my bill. The bang bang shrimp is yummy. I love the blue berry lemon drop. I love the ambiance there, dimly lit and very clean. Parking is easy. Will be back to try the steak again.

We wanted seafood for dinner and this was our second choice. It was easy access to the turnpike and it was one of the best options around the area. When we walked in, the hostess was taking care of a customer that was putting a to go order but never acknowledged us. The manager finally did and he took us to a booth by the bar. Our server Arionte made our dinner and experience much more enjoyable. He told us that it was happy hour and brought water and bread at the same time! He was nice, friendly, attentive, professional, checked on us and apologized for delays. He rocked all the tables he had and always had a positive attitude! Our food was good and tasted great. The only item that could had been better was the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. It seemed that it was not fresh and that it was leftover from the day before. We took advantage of their special dinner for 2 that they are currently offering. You get 2 salads, 2 entrees and dessert. We got Cesar Salads, Salmon with Lemon Butter Caper sauce with Creamed Spinach and Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Mahi Mahi with Lemon Butter Caper Sauce with Broccoli and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The fish and lemon Caper butter sauce for both choices made them tasty and delicious. We were full for dessert, so we took the Lemon Cake to go. We had it the next day and it was divine! The lemon is not overpowering and the frosting gave it enough sweetness. The restaurant is in a good area and it is a good choice.

To say it was outstanding is an understatement as it was perfectly cooked, utterly delicious in a sauce or gravy that was tantalizingly superb! The ambiance is nice, its very much a sports bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The dining area indoors is comfortable and upscale. Tonight was not great, as they were fullly booked inside and it was incredibly loud from all the guests. Unfortunately it was cold and dreary outside so the outdoor seating was not ideal either. Now for the reasons for the 1 star review. Service was terrible. To start, we asked if they could move 1 of the rolling heaters closer to our table since they had half a dozen that were not being utilized at all. They told us they can't move them, which is reasonable. So we asked if they could turn of the ceiling fan above our table and they said they would. The entire time we were there they never turned off the fan. Our waiter was often nowhere to be found. We had to ask another server for water and condiments after waiting for 20mins for ours to return. When the food arrived, my soup was someone mistakenly ceviche, which they did rectify fairly quickly. The mayo another member at our table requested was missing, and was never brought out. After waiting for some time to see our waiter again to ask for a box and the check, I finally walked inside the restaurant to look for him and he was still nowhere to be found. 5mins later he returned to our table. We asked for a box and the check.l and he took are leftovers to box them up. At this point, everyone was cold and ready to go so I told them to wait in the car while I paid the check and grabbed our leftovers. 10mins later, our waiter returned with the boxxed up food but no check. I asked again for the check. He disappeared for another 8minsz and while I was just sitting at an empty table alone with a togo bag another server asked if everything was ok, and I said I was just waiting for the check. When our waiter finally returned with the check I attempted to hand him my card to pay since I was beyond ready to go at this point and he refused to take it saying he had to colleft the tab from another table that has been waiting before me. I waited another 4mins for him to return to finally let me pay and leave. Never have I had so much trouble simply attempting to pay and leave a restaurant. I'll mention that while it was busy when we arrived, by the time I was trying to leave almost all the tables were unoccupied. The entire experience just left me feeling disrespected and I have no intention of returning to Spotos again. TLDR; food is good, but the service was some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I will not be eating here again or recommending it.

The flavor was good w perfectly cooked shrimp but the black pepper was overwhelming the dish. Past experiences, the Gumbo has been one of the best, but not tonight. The kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite and rethink your life choices--mainly why you haven't been eating this more often. The shakshouka is flavorful, comforting, and executed cleanly. And the waffles... listen--these waffles are not here to play. Crispy, fluffy, and dangerously easy to finish. Order them knowing full well you're not sharing. The menu truly lives up to the idea of "a taste of everything." There's so much to choose from that decision paralysis is real--but in a fun way. No bad options, just tough choices. Balance of business professionals, "ladies who lunch", and a few couples. The bar reminds me a of nicer Las Vegas resort hotel bar. One TV showing Golf TV. Food = We've eaten at J.Alex since their soft open moons ago. The dishes are always consistent quality. Today hub's was jonesing for a French dip. I was craving their Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich. We both order their shoestring fries. We're slowly enjoyed each other's company and our lunches. We immensely enjoyed our meals. Service = Good. Our bartender didn't offer his name, and we weren't on our game to ask his name. However, he did a good job. He quickly came over and put down black napkin placemats with napkin rolled utensils and offered water while we skimmed the menu. Beverages were served quick. Food order quick and complete. We never had to ask for extra sides as he brought them all out with the meals- ketchups (If you like an abundant serving, ask when you place your order. They use small 2 oz stainless steel ramekins.), horseradish sauce, a side of blue cheese (to dip my fries in ), and my Nashville hot sauce on the side. Check came quick too. We ask and learned that they do not offer a Happy Hour. However, they offer very large pour martinis with a side car waiting for you for the price of one. He said late afternoons they have very happy and loyal regulars! We've been dining at "J.A." since their soft open many moons ago. They have always offered well trained staff. We've been here as parties of two, parties of up to 8, and as times with infants, to toddlers, to elementary school age peeps to seniors who many need a little extra consideration with seating. J.Alexander's has always offered great service. However, for some with low vision may find the back of the restaurant a little dark. Bathrooms are clean. There is an outside, screened over bar area as well. My extra bullet points: Value = Yes! High quality, consistent food, great staff and fair price for the experience. The BIG question: Will we return? Yes! We are every other month "regulars". During COVID, they were able to pivot their business to keeping their doors up keeping people employed and offered service to the community. HIGH GIVE! We'll be back. Cheers! From that point on, however, the staff really stepped up. The service was friendly and well paced. The food was excellent and well prepared. Our guests realized the seating issue and were able to overlook it to enjoy a nice evening with friends and family. I would like to think this was a one off rare occurrence, but past experience indicates it's not. Ownership should be aware of what is going on here.
