Adorable Hawaiian themed restaurant. They have a great happy hour, service was fantastic, and the food was delicious and filling.

So, Cool'a was one of those places that you try for the first time and wonder if/when you'll be back as opposed to saying "I cannot wait to come back here." I would def items come back but moreso because of the great service than the food. Service= OUTSTANDING! Shoutout to Cami, Our fantastic server as well as the very friendly hostess and runner as well. No complaints there! And honestly no "complaints" about the food either. Food= TASTY! We did enjoy our meals but at the same time, ordering from the Flavor Palm Beach Menu this time around left me feeling full (we took leftovers home) but not amazed to be honest. Of the appetizers I preferred the Chicken Egg Roll to the Calamari which could've been crispier and the shrimp looked good! Went to celebrate my mother birthday. The waitress was amazing, I forget her name, and she was able to explain the menu and give great recommendations, which included the Caribbean seafood bowl, the sweet potato crusted fish, and the Mac nut crusted fish. My mom got the sweet crusted fish (not pictured) and she loved it. My husband got the Mac nut crusted fish (pictured) and loved it. I got the Caribbean bowl (pictured) and while it was really good, it was really rich. If I go again, I would get a fish with the two sides. The restaurant was clean, I like how the booths are separated by a type of glass panel so it felt separated. Love the fish decor on the wall. We've been several times with our small gang of six and we have never been disappointed. Arrive by 5pm Sunday-Thursday and you'll get 20% off food and 50% off drinks! I ordered the cioppino this time and it came in a huge bowl filled with fish, shrimp, and calamari on top of angel hair. It was delicious and enough for lunch the next day! Three in our party had the shrimp scampi bowl. It didn't quite fill up the bowl as much, but equally as delicious, they said. Tom had the tuna and the potatoes Cool'A which he highly recommended. We were all in agreement about that! We'd had them in previous visits and considered getting an entree with sides just to have it again. The last entree, a macadamia nut encrusted snapper, was also a big hit (and she never waivers from ordering it!). Juliette was our server this time and she was fun and very competent. After searching for a place to eat on Yelp. We had decided to give this place a try after reading their reviews and the food pics all looked really good. The hostess was really nice and so was our server. But I have to be honest my shrimp scampi was the worst I've ever had. There was no flavor no matter how much cheese I had to sprinkle on and the shrimp was dry and hard. When my partner asked me "how was it"? I gave him a fork full to taste. And he agreed with me why did it taste like nothing?! However my partner enjoyed his dinner and said the fish he had was good. The ambiance of the place was nice. Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. We got very lucky because it wasn't busy due to a bad storm. It's a warm & cozy tropical environment. We started with the special conch bites. The batter was light & tasty. Order it with hot sauce... it's hot! Good to mix in with the aioli. I got the snapper piccata with their famous potato & mixed green salad. Perfectly cooked. At the risk of being called "punny" we thought that Cool'a Fishbar was "cool!" We got there for their "sunset menu" (their version of Happy Hour). Drinks are half price, house wines (all Mondavi Woodbridge) were $4, and almost all food 20% off. Quite a bargain. We split the Shaka Shrimp as an appetizer. The shrimp were fresh and tasty, the breading thin and crispy and the sauce (similar to a remoulade/aioli) quite tasty, with just a hint of spice. They were excellent. The Mediterranean Bowl was a very large portion of shrimp and scallops (perfectly cooked) in a piccata sauce with feta cheese, spinach and tomatoes, over linguini was nice - the sauce mild but flavorful. My only complaint is that they should remove the shrimp tails. The blackened ahi was not quite what I expected. The lightly seared ahi was coated with blackening seasoning on one side and served cold. There was a bit too much sauce over the top. If you like seared ahi, request the sauce on the side, speaking of sides, their "Cool'a Potato was outstanding: the potato is removed from the skin, mixed with cheese and sour cream, pot into a ramekin and then twice baked - wow! My other side was field greens with a balsamic vinaigrette. Not overdressed, but fresh and tasty. Finally, the staff was outstanding. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Everyone knew the menu well and their recommendations spot on. A last word: if you want to go for Happy Hour, get there early. The shrimp was one of the best versions of this firecracker/bang bang shrimp I've ever had. The calamari was crispy and fresh. For entrees we had Mac Nut encrusted yellowtail snapper, lobster tail, and filet tips with grilled shrimp (both Hawaiian style). Literally every dish was amazing. Based on recommendations here I tried the potato side dish and it did not disappoint! The dessert menu is limited. There were only 3 options: chocolate cake, key lime pie and peanut butter pie. We had the chocolate cake and it was ok, not as special as the food! We went in a Saturday night and if we hadn't had a reservation, we would not have been able to be seated! We were too late for their happy hour, but the bartender was very friendly and to my surprise, they were running a $2 special for a few beers that included Funky Buddha Hop Gun IPA. I ordered my favorite, the Sweet Potato Crusted Grouper with the Cool'a Potato and Mixed Baby Greens with Balsamic Vinaigrette. When ordering sides, be sure to get the famous Cool'a Potato, which is potato mixed with cheese and sour cream baked in a ramekin. Our friends were both very pleased with their dinners, the Yellowtail Snapper Picatta and the Mediterranean Seafood Bowl, which is shrimp and scallops with tomato, spinach and feta sautéed with white wine and lemon over angel hair pasta. Our server Fabricio was great, but while we were waiting for our entrées to arrive, the manager noticed we had finished our drinks and took our order for another round. He knew the servers were getting slammed and he was pitching in where ever possible to improve the customer experience. The décor is beautiful. You feel like you by the beach or somewhere tropical. The menu has limited options and everyone went with something different, we went with the yellow snapper, another went with steak and lobster, another crab cake, and another chicken. We all really enjoyed our meal. Cooked to perfection and you have the option of two sides. The must-haves are the potatoes, rice, or veggies/side salad. I found the portions incredibly small. Even so, everything was cooked so well and had so much flavor. I would go back to try other items on the menu. The price was reasonable., the venue was awesome and plenty of parking too.
