I always love going to Bonefish Grill. We came here with a huge group after a graduation and I have to say that they went above and beyond trying to accommodate us. We had to wait for a while, but they were so apologetic since we had reservations in advance. They offered us a table to sit at as we waited for our real table to be ready. Also, they gave us some shrimp to make up for the wait. I ordered the spicy tuna bowl. It was amazing! It was essentially a poke bowl. It had seared tuna. They tuna was huge and it was seared on the outside perfectly. The inside was still raw which made the fish so tender. It same with a sweet chili sauce. It added a nice touch of sweetness to the dish. It came with half an avocado. This added a creaminess to the dish. There were fried wonton chips that added a nice crunch. On top of it all was a nice mango salsa. I would suggest this dish! It was delicious! read more

We arrived at this location on August 24, 2024, around 5:15pm. We brought our daughter and grandson who are visiting from Seattle for her birthday dinner. This was our first time visiting this location since we recently moved here ourselves. We were met by a nice gentleman who directed to the host booth who then sat us immediately behind the host booth. There may have been five other booths occupied in the whole restaurant. Another nice young man brought us bread and told us our waitress would be there shortly. We waited approximately 15 minutes with no water or anyone checking on us. There were at least three members of wait staff bringing food and drinks to other tables. Afterwards they congregated near the host booth and talked to the gentlemen near the front door. Our daughter got up to go the bathroom to capture anyone's attention but to no avail. I kept looking around but my wife said to give them a few more minutes. By 5:30 my grandson said he was hungry so we decided to leave. As we were standing up to go, a young lady who we had not seen the entire time, came from the back and asked if there was a problem. My wife said we are leaving because we have been here for too long with no service. She replied, "No one told me you were here," although all of the other wait staff had been in and out of the kitchen. This is the worst service we have ever experienced at any Bonefish in the country. We were really looking forward to celebrating our daughter's birthday since she wanted the crab legs. We will not be returning to this location for obvious reasons. We ended up going to Sal's by Victor, a mile away, and had the best service imaginable. During our recent visit to Colonial Williamsburg we visited Bonefish and it was such a great all around experience that we returned for 3 additional meals. From the gentleman who greeted us with a smile to the fantastic servers, Dee, DeShaun and Alvin to the fabulously prepared food, we had great experiences and highly recommend! The only negative comment I have is that the crab cake sandwich had way too much filler and very little crabmeat. Great ambiance for any occasion!! Thank you so much!!! PS. My family ate here last night and just had a rude server. She seemed annoyed we didn't order drinks or apps, messed up an order. Instead of just saying sorry and that she misheard, she argued and said 'no that is not what you ordered'. We said it wasn't an issue and waited for the missing shrimp. Served a bowl of soup after the dinners and than sarcastically asked if we wanted waters to go. We left a good tip because we are not cheap but we will never eat here again. Great management. They were packed but gave several options for seating and we were thrilled to get seated quickly after a glass at the bar. This Williamsburg location consistently has extremely bad service. We tend to sit at the bar but the bar manager takes care of her friends and the rest of us are chopped liver. We dine as a group sometimes and sit in the bar area and the service has always been horrible. I would suggest not dining in the bar and you might have better service. We have decided to focus on the restaurants in Williamsburg with good food and service as well (there are many). I see comments from the restaurant they are addressing complaints. We have been dining at this location since it opened and have never seen a change in the poor service. There have been times when they had great bartenders and servers but those people don't stay long. read more

I'm fairly certain bonefish has gotten better since Covid hit. Their drinks are on point, and as per the norm, the bang bang shrimp never fails. Excellent service, excellent food! The Cod Fish sliders are to die for. Deep Fried potato bites were oooy gooy cheesy with a hint of smokey flavor, delicious. Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict is a great brunch menu item. The shrimp and eggs were cooked perfectly. Need an adult beverage? Their Mimosas are absolutely refreshing. I'm usually a Bloody Mary guy, these Mimosa's didn't disappoint. Fried Calamari was tender as can be. And man did I say the Mahi Mahi with Lump Crab and Oscar sauce was out of this world? There I just said it! I was a bit taken back that this venue wasn't as crowded as I had expected. But that made the experience all the more pleasant. I attended a Yelp Elite event here and it was an overall great experience! Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable of all of the dishes we tried. As for the food and drinks, they were delicious! This was my first time eating at Bonefish and they did not disappoint. We were welcomed with original mimosas and peach bellinis; both were yummy and refreshing! We moved onto happy hour specials - wagyu beef slider, crispy cod slider, calamari, and au gratin potato bites. I loved the wagyu beef slider! The crispy cod slider was a bit spicy but the fish was fresh and was complimented by its signature sauce. I'm a big fan of the calamari and I really liked the sauce that came with the dish - it was tangy and gave the calamari even more flavor. The au gratin potatoes was something I had never tried before but it was basically a fried, cheesy potato with bacon and served with sour cream on the side. These dishes were perfect for happy hour in regards to portion and flavor. We tried A LOT of food so bear with me! The next thing on the menu were fried oysters and Chardonnay. Now....I like fresh oysters, but I was not a big fan of them being fried. The dish itself wasn't bad, but I didn't eat them based on personal preferences. The Chardonnay was good and paired well with the rest of the dishes. Up next was the creme brûlée French toast and the Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict. I LOOOOOVED the creme brûlée French toast! It smelled so good and I loved how it was crispy on the top, just like a creme brûlée. It was so sweet, you didn't even need the syrup. As for the Bang Bang Shrimp Eggs Benedict, it was good but it was a little too rich for me to be a brunch item. Our last little parade of food consisted of mahi mahi and tilapia oscar styled, pumpkin creme brûlée, and a chocolate martini. My absolute favorite dish besides the creme brûlée French toast was the mahi mahi oscar styled. The mahi mahi was cooked perfectly and the "oscar style" (aka the lump crab meat, asparagus, and sauce) added the right amount of richness to the dish. It was sooo yummy. For dessert, the pumpkin creme brûlée was a great way to end our tastings. It was light, creamy, and perfect for the upcoming fall season! The chocolate martini reminded me of coffee but with a little alcoholic kick. Our visit to Bonefish was filled with food and great company. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm and every single employee was friendly and happy. I recommend going here for a date night or for happy hour. My family, friends and I have been going to this restaurant for years now and for some reason, in the past two years their service somehow plummeted. My friend and I went on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy some good food and decompress from our School and life commitments. But, unfortunately we were met with not so great service that will ruin the mood for our day and cause even further stress, embarrassment, and complete discomfort. Our appetizers were beyond delicious, but my side dish with our entrees came with an extra piece of hair that I didn't ask for. Given that this was not the first time it would happen, I froze, stopped eating and was even taken back from talking to the staff about this. But, I chose to tell them, the first person I talked to immediately apologized and seemed very sweet and he then called on the kitchen manager. This manager was immediately set on the notion that it was potentially my hair and started DEMANDING answers out of me about what I wanted to do. I was completely in shock and I didn't know what to feel or how to feel or what to say because I just found a hair in my food and this highly intimidating person is inches away from me raising his voice and demanding an answer from me on top of saying that it was my hair in the food. We sat at a high-top and my hair is very long and was mostly beneath the table, compared to the hair we found which was extremely short. This "manager" went on to talk about our server told him that we know him, first of all we didn't discuss this with the server and we never said such thing. My friend and I were talking about knowing and incredibly sweet and hard-working server at the restaurant named Sean, the kitchen manager was never mentioned and our server shouldn't be eavesdropping on our personal conversations. He continued to boast about how "people come in here all the time and say that they know me but I dont!" in such a demeaning, intimidating, and high tone considering that our tone was never down to that level AND us telling him how uncomfortable we were with the way he was speaking to us. Nevertheless, he continued engaging this highly unprofessional demeanor all the way back to the kitchen which is open by the way and went off talking about us to our server IN FRONT OF US in a bad way. I couldn't even believe my eyes at this kind of behavior stemming from something that happens all the time at restaurants that could've been handled in such a better, calmer, and respectful way!!!! The team offered one of the owner's number, we had a call and she managed to settle the situation. If it wasn't for her I would never step foot in any Bonefish or Bloomin' Brands restaurant ever again! Please take care of your employees and especially ones that hold leadership positions, because they seem to lack serious customer service and basic human to human respectful engagement. read more

It was busy and service was slow but even when the crowd thinned out the service was extremely slow. Food was extremely salty as well.

Some of the staff are very surly and dismissive, some are friendly and attentive. My bartender this visit was about as friendly as a lamppost so if you want to enjoy happy hour, take a second and see if you get a good vibe. Don't be afraid to just turn around and leave which is what I should have done and saved myself the cost of a beer. I went for a Sunday brunch. Arrival was around 2 and the place was not busy at all. We had upfront parking and was seated immediately. Bread brought to the table along with water. Everything flowed nicely. Our server was very attentive. Even though I have previously been here she assisted my mom with her questions. We did eventually choose the French Toast which was what I initially my first thought anyway. The meal came out within 15 minutes and the server periodically checked on us. The meal was great and although the server agreed with the pumpkin brulee as a great choice for dessert I had given my mom the choice of that or Key Lime Pie also a favorite of mine. She choose the Key Lime Pie and was not disappointed. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was nice and quiet for a Sunday brunch. We were on a back wall with another table for a short period of time but it was nice to not be all seated together with the other customers. As stated I have been here before but the food, atmosphere and staff were great. We both enjoyed our food and time there. This turned out to be a better experience than when we first entered. We had 5:30 reservations. When we arrived before 5:30 there was no one at the host position. After waiting after 5:30, the host Ricardo advised us that he is seating guests with no reservations before guests with reservations. He said 'I AM NOT DOING THAT' in reference to seating guests. I don't have a problem with acknowledging guests but seating before guests with reservations is a problem for me. What is the point of reservations???? We were then served by Stephanie who was excellent. The rest of our meal was enjoyable. Thank you Stephanie for your service and understanding. Our dinner was enjoyable and a great experience!!! Alaina asked which, if any, sauce for my fish and gave us a quick overview of the sauces and her recommendation -- I took her suggestion and it was great. She assured my wife that she could switch the fried potatoes for the broccoli without any problem. I ordered the up-charge spinach and as she reviewed our requests she asked if the up-charge would be OK. When we ordered coffee I requested that the cream be warmed so that the usual cold cream would not chill our coffee; when Alaina brought the coffee she explained how she had warmed the cream --- it was perfect! When Alaina brought our dessert she was tickled about how great it looked, the presentation, and she was right! When we return to Bonefish we will ask for her to be our server. When we arrived at the hostess station there was the hostess and a server discussing what servers would handle which tables -- the restaurant had very few diners. The hostess did acknowledge us, but the hostess-server discussions continued for about 5 minutes before the server was given the OK to seat us. Yes, we had a reservation, but that was not acknowledged at all. Again, there were very few diners in the restaurant at 12:30 PM. In summation: hostess was poor; food was just OK; server was great. Will eat there again: not certain based on hostess service and quality of food. read more

Came here for a Yelp event with my bf who is a Yelp Eliter (he liked to rub it in my face that I'm an amateur Yelper so he brings me to these things). I'll start by saying that I'm NOT a fan of chains, but I always REALLY enjoy Bonefish. Today was no different. Out of all the dishes we received, the stars of the show were the Creme Brûlée French Toast and the Mahi Mahi Oscar. I have never had French toast that didn't require syrup until today. The Mahi Mahi was perfectly seasoned and grilled. I love fish done "oscar" style and this was no disappointment. The calamari and seasonal Pumpkin Creme brûlée deserve honorable mentions. We went to Bonefish Williamsburg on Wednesday night and new it would be busy. It was crowded but there were open tables and plenty of space at the bar. We arrived at 530 and placed both our drink and food order. The server seemed irritated that we wanted to do both at the same time. Runners brought out our drinks (didnt know what the drinks were or who they belonged to). We asked for our food to be brought out together and runner brought out all our food seperately (both courses and by person). We never saw our waiter. Eventually with a second round of drinks he brought one persons first drink. They collected our empty plates and brought out to go boxes. 30 minutes later brought our checks. We specificially told the waiter we were on a time crunch. 20 munutes later we got our checks to sign. I truly do not know where our waiter was in the 1 hour and 50 minutes. It appeared he didnt want to turn his table. This was the worst service and it had nothing to do with being busy. The food was good (hard to mess up salads and bang bang shrimp) Wont be going back. read more

For sides I got asparagus and brussel sprouts. The guys got baked potatoes and coleslaw. My salmon was cold and had zero taste. You have to order a sauce, so I got mango. I scraped most of it off. The sprouts were drenched and sitting in a very greasy oil. The asparagus was decent. The guys said they're food was good but nothing special. We also had to ask for bread after sitting at our table for about 15 minute which they usually just bring out to your table without you having to ask. She also made fun of the food my 18 year old sister got (a salad and a side) and said "what are you a 12 year old?" Well. They continue to disappoint! We are home bound. We order online delivery. A year ago they were good! And Kourtney would make sure the kitchen got my order right. I usually ordered George's shrimp and scallops. There is an option for just shrimp or scallops. I'm highly allergic to Shrimp so I check the box "scallops only". But they always sent shrimp in the same box! In special instructions I always tell them NO SHRIMP! If I physically call them right after I order (DoorDash) they correct the order but I should not have to call r every time! Tonight my wife got the shrimp and scallops . I got fried fish and French fries. It was disgusting. I'm not calling them to complain again! Fish was hard and tough and GREASY like warmed over leftovers. Fries were very soggy! Wife's cole slaw smelled rotten. The shrimp and scallops were ok. But I get much better food at Burger King and Popeyes. What a shame ! A lot of money for crappy food. I've complained to them a few times over the past 18 months. When we first moved to the area we dined in there and it impressed us. Except service was kind of immature. Next time I ordered for pick up. Bartender took my card and put someone else's tab on it. I had to get very firm after 15 minutes waiting to get card back. He said " Oh I got cards mixed up and gave it to another customer". At first he swore he had given it back! Unprofessional all the way around. In the past they always said they would replace my order if I came in the next day! I guess I'm a slow learner. Don't like being disrespected! All I can say is WOW! I have been to several bonefish grills, but I have never had the experience like I had tonight at the bonefish grill in Williamsburg. I am in Williamsburg visiting Great Wolf lodge for my nephews 11th birthday. After conversations with the waitress about my nephews birthday at Disney last year, the wonderful staff at bonefish tried to recreate the magic here. Of course, Disney magic is a tough act to follow, but the staffs willingness and thoughtfulness to go above and beyond for my family was so sweet. Not to mention the food and drinks were great... I visited here on my birthday trip to Williamsburg. The ambiance was nice and it was clean. We started with the Beef and Ginger potstickers, bang bang shrimp, Side of Fries, and the house salad. The beef and ginger potstickers were decent, but I got an after taste of fish. The bang bang shrimp were definitely a 10/10, and the House salad was decent, but definitely lacked dressing. The fries were good (Fresh and not over seasoned). I ordered the BFG Pasta w/ chicken. It had potential to be good, but it was very bland and the noodles were overcooked. My boyfriend got the Jumbo Fried Shrimp. The cocktail sauce had way too much horseradish in it. To add to the subpar food, our server was not the greatest. She was very forgetful, and when she would come to the table, it would be once every 15 minutes. We sat and waited for our check for 10 minutes. Overall our experience is not what we had wished for. Dinner here at bonefish is amazing! We started with the bang bang shrimp, tuna sashimi and crab cakes. For dinner, we had the pecan crusted trout, tilapia imperial, Chilean sea bass and the teriyaki chicken along with some add ons.....lobster thermidor and mac and cheese. This local favorite of ours has clearly not yet recovered from the months of pandemic related challenges. It can get there but not quite yet. Sparking, clean, safe.....absolutely. But new staff (kitchen and servers) are a work in progress. Preparation and presentation (particularly on the apps like Mussels Josephine and Ahi Tuna Sashimi) are way off the mark. This place has impecceable service worthy of mentioning. Their staff is super attentive to your needs and will bend over backwards to assure you that your meal is satisfactory. Our waiter was very patient and knowledgeable about explaining their menu and giving suggestions. Moreover, he was completely on top of things (i.e. refilling our water) even when the place was packed. As for the food, it was above average. Their popcorn shrimp was pretty good, their kobe burger looked amazing, and their crab wasn't bad either. I would say you can't go wrong with the starred menu items, which are their most popular dishes for a reason, but at the same time there wasn't anything that was truly uniquely amazing. Basically, they do from the surf to the turf all quite well. One change I would make is their strawberry shortcake dessert - instead of the whip cream they should switch out the center ball to vanilla ice cream. read more

I went in and we got sat pretty quickly. I was greeted by amazing smells. The staff seemed to talk a lot to the tables but I didn't think much of it at first. They were all super friendly. Our waitress was a ninja that filled our waters quickly. The tacos were my fave thing I've eaten in a long time. The shrimp scampi is a little dry to be honest and lacking of flavor.
