We love coming to Bongo Beaux's! The location is great, ambiance is super fun (New Orleans vibes), the staff is always super kind and food is delicious! Dogs are welcome on the 'indoor patio' and outdoor patio. They bring water and you can request some chicken for your pet as well. Average food and service. The atmosphere is cool though. Plenty of TV's and some yard games.

Not sure where to start. This location could really be nice given the space, bar top and patio areas. There is an unusual pay at register and be served at the bar process that Slows the entire process. Not sure why this is done. Now to the meat of the review, classics such as Red beans, rice and andouille, Cajun Chix Strips were subpar at best. Really different is the catfish was like cod vs corn meal. Not sure I'm sold on this. From a seasoning standpoint, there was more sodium than I care to eat. Given this is a startup, I'm sure the chef will correct these issues. read more

My sister and I just had the best time at Bongos today. First off, the environment is just plain FUN. Saturday, living life atmosphere. We started with the hushpuppies and WOW - loved them. They came with the most amazing butter & jalapeño jelly and I cannot wait to get them again. For our meal we split the gumbo and the shrimp boil (pictured). Yum, yum, YUM. I would absolutely recommend them both - but you HAVE to get the shrimp boil, even if you share it with the table. So flavorful, perfectly cooked. Loved it, cannot wait to come back soon. read more

We waited an hour and a half for our food. They were not crowded and we were seated immediately so we didn't understand what took so long. The server apologized and said we would get free dessert, but she didn't mention it again. My chicken dish was tasty but not hot. My husband's shrimp salad had 5 small shrimp. This is my third time visiting Bongo's (I live in Michigan, so it's not exactly around the corner to visit more often!) During this visit I ordered the blackened salmon and truth be told I'm typically nervous about salmon because it could be easily overcooked. This piece of salmon was cooked to perfection. Not only was it cooked perfectly, it was seasoned just as well. The spinach is laid over was a little bit salty (not enough to lose a star that's for sure, just saying so in the case someone is very salt sensitive.) I also tried the hush puppies from another diner with me and they were perfectly crispy on the outside without being overly oily on the inside. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the state! read more

As a new transplant to the area, I decided during Fat Tuesday to stop by the local Cajun restaurant. My honest observation of the atmosphere is a genuine Cajun/Louisiana restaurant. The establishment was pretty packed and the manager quickly put us on the waiting list. After being sat down, the energy and the service was spot on. The same manager, stopped more than periodically to see if we needed anything and I though we were on the show "linked" because the service was exceptional. Joe, I get the fact it's Cajun food and made to order, so along with the place being packed it would take about 20-30 minutes. I can honestly say, the food was amazing and the crawfish size was definitely on par with the likes of "Nate's". I'll definitely revisit and for the manager, I didn't catch her name but kudos and keep offering the same elite service it was much appreciated! read more

This place needs to get it together! I would not suggest eating here. Staff is not friendly, and the food was cold. We waited over 20 mins and still didn't have a server. Finally a young man helped us but then waited over 45 mins to get our food. I would not waste your night on a place like this. Stay away!!! read more

Gave this place a try and will never go back!! Food was horrible. We ordered some garlic & lemon crawfish. We are now into April and it's crawfish season but they were tiny in size, soft and mushy. Never experienced bad crawfish like this before. We also ordered their fried crawfish platter. It came with hush puppies and fries. Crawfish was crispy but still nothing to ride home about. We also ordered the drunken crawfish. Crawfish was horrible. It was definitely frozen crawfish and the flavor was pretty bad. We also ordered Micheladas with Dos Equis. It was basically clamato mixed in with beer. No spice, seasonings or anything. Tasted like watered down Clamato juice. If you're considering giving this place a try, I recommend spending your money elsewhere. You'll thank me later! read more

They ask all the time to review their restaurant and customer service but unfortunately they do not deserve it. For dinner we arrived seeing multiple free tables. Asked if we could be seated the owner said I only have two servers no you can't lol my impression was why couldn't we get seated understanding they were short staff. So there's open tables but because you can't keep employees you have us wait 10 mins to be seated with several tables open. You do not reserve any type of good reviews. If they didn't have such a big turnaround in staffing maybe the manager Taby would have at least let us take seat will ten open tables. read more
