Advertised "any purchase" the lady said we have to buy "a cake" NOT other pastries in order to redeem this check-in. Click bait

Fist time and last time coming here. Fist: Please change the wording of your Yelp Check In promotion to "buy a cake" instead of "any purchase. That is very confusing. This older lady assisted me with payment specifically said a cake need to be purchased to redeem. I'm okay without any Yelp Check in and would still support local business as usual but please no click bait and false advertising. First time I encountered this. There was not anyone at the bakery section of the supermaket when we entered. After I grabbed a few items to purchase, an older lady came out and kept looking my way like I was going to run out of the store with their pastries. I noticed they use simple ingredients which I like in pastries but overall experience was not positive. Well, I finished making my selection and walked up to the register to pay. No greetings "Hello" "Thank You" whatsoever. I paid and left. 2 Stars for the simple ingredients and good sweet-taste patries. There are quite a few other bakeries around Rowland Heights/Walnut so I definitely won't be returning here

The bakery - located inside Market World

This little bakery is such a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of a supermarket. We purchased a wide variety of their pastries, as well as two cakes - one large and one small - as some gifts for a friend and his family nearby. The bakery is family owned and the owners helped us and were SO nice and sweet! They have a surprisingly large selection of Korean pastries, breads, and decorative cakes available - definitely on par with bakeries like 85° for example. And they do pre-ordered custom cakes as well. We grabbed a small Panda Cake bc it was just way too cute to pass up haha! And a large Mixed Berry Cake bc it was so beautiful and elegant - sure to make an impressive gift. We also grabbed quite a few different pastries for the gift basket and some for ourselves of course lol! Our friend and his family absolutely loved the cakes - they were so impressed! And we all enjoyed everything we tried - I especially loved the Powdered Donut with Yellow Creme - such a soft, smooth texture, light flavors and not too sweet - very excellently made. The Strawberry and Creme bun was good too but a little too much creme for my preference - still a nice flavor though and the strawberries were definitely fresh. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality- especially for the cakes - they run between $25-$40 and are so good - also large portions too. And the sweet couple that own the shop just couldn't be nicer! They trip over themselves trying to help and make sure you leave very satisfied- even in spite of the language barrier lol! And if you buy a cake, they give you some extra pastries to say thank you lol. Their location is a tad random lol - You'll find them inside Market World which is a huge Asian supermarket full of random little shops all along the edges and there's even a restaurant inside. Bonjour Bakery is located to the far right as you walk in. There's plenty of parking in the large shopping plaza and lots of other shops as well. We'll definitely be back even though Diamond Bar is out of our way! I definitely need to try one of their loaves of bread next time - Thank you!

While I was doing some grocery shopping at the Korean market, Hannam chain I found a bakery inside. The male Korean owner helping me was super nice and kind! They had a variety of pastries and everything was fresh and delicious! Definitely recommend this spot if you are craving pastries in the area for sure.

Custom cake - $70 enough to feed 15-20

This bakery is located within the Market World. Owned by a nice friendly Ajeossi, it a lot of options for pastries, bread, & cakes. He will give you a couple of free pastries if you make a cake purchase. I've come here a few times already & they for the cakes & they're usually priced around $25-35. I even called to order a large cake for maybe 15-20 people which was about $70, which isn't too shabby. Be sure to give at least a day's notice for anything custom. Definitely coming here for all my cake needs & you should too.

Yummy bread and cookies! Both not overly sweet and freshly made. The cream bun with strawberry was amazing!

I added the Roblox decorations.

Made a custom Oreo cake for my 8 year old son's birthday that was beautiful and loved by everyone! The bakery is so cute and I was even given a free pastry. I chose the cream puff it was delicious.

So hilariously fun how it looks like a Terminator Panda after being cut :0)

Thank you Bonjour Bakery for making my Birthday exceptionally memorable this year by crafting such a playfully charming Panda Peekaboo Oreo Style Cake to tickle all my Stress Knots away!!! My Church Parents Karmen and Carlos initially intended to buy my Birthday Cake at Paris Baguette but Karmen was baffled by how expensive the Cakes were there and Carlos suggested Bonjour Bakery inside the Korean Cave Market a few shops down :0) Carlos said none of the Cakes at Paris Baguette made him think of me, but when He saw this Pandamonium Power Princessa Design He said "That's Lisa right there!" Hahaha!!!! I squealed with so much ecstatic joy and delight upon being presented the Highly Original and Unforgettably Special Gift, do your loved ones a huge Favor and spoil them with Extra Jovencita Fun through Bonjour Bakery's Masterfully Charming Designs today!! Karmen and Carlos said their prices are so humble and affordable and we are all eternally grateful of them of keeping the Sexy Sensational Magic of Wonderfully Lovable Mom and Pop Caves Alive!!!!

The bakery is located inside the Hannam Chain Market World supermarket. Saw the high reviews on both Yelp and Google, so I decided to give it a shot and ordered a birthday cake, but I regretted it. The Paris Baguette next door probably would have been so much better in terms of both food and service. I placed my order for an 8" cake over the phone a couple of days in advance to pick up over the weekend, but when I arrived at the pick up time, there was no cake ready and it looked like they didn't even have any record of my order. In a bind and short on time, I had to purchase a smaller pre-made 6" cake on the spot from their display case and provide the cake message to the staff again. Not a great experience already. Also, the staff mainly speak Korean, so if you don't speak the language, communication may be an issue. In terms of the cake, it was definitely subpar as well. Texture was soft, but not as moist as it could/should have been. And the mixed berry filling was still FROZEN when served which made cutting the cake (with the provided plastic cake knife) difficult and the cake itself hard to eat. Still giving 2 stars for their last minute effort to try to put something together and the lady seemed to want to make up for things by giving me a free pastry bun. But based on my overall experience, the business is not reliable and the cake wasn't even that tasty, so it really doesn't deserve anything beyond that.

Tiramisu cake. Great taste and very fresh

I ordered a tiramisu cake for my wife's birthday and we all loved the fresh taste and flavor. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I love this type of mom and pop small shop and would love to support them rather than going to big franchise corporate chains. I will definitely come back and get more cakes and bakeries here. The sweet lady owner even gave me a free chocolate bread as a treat. Two thumbs up for the quality taste of the cake and heartwarming service.

I was doing some research on birthday cakes within the area and came across Bonjour Bakery. I initially had my eyes set on Porto's, but this place was closer and the reviews here captured my eye. Located within a supermarket, you'll just need to enter and go all the way to the right corner of the store and ring the bell if staff is busy in the back. This bakery is adorable and has a wide array of breads and sweets, ranging from cookies, to baguettes, loafs, and of course birthday cakes. I'd ordered the mixed berry cake, which was beautiful, delicious, and reasonably priced. It was also more than enough for a large gathering. The lady who was taking my order was so sweet and even gave free birthday candles, along with a couple baked goods on the house. I'm definitely coming back here, and I highly recommend checking this place out.

There were only a handful of tables, and almost all of them were occupied when we arrived. Everything we tried was amazing. The hot dog roll was crispy, savory, and super satisfying. The ham and cheese pastry was also incredibly crispy with that buttery flaky texture. My favorite pastry was probably the strawberry lemon creme croissant: fruity, bright, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. For drinks, the Korean plum gochu lemonade was unexpectedly addictive. It was refreshing and citrusy with subtle hints of spice that made every sip interesting. Overall, a great spot to grab pastries and drinks while taking a break from shopping. Definitely coming back to try more items.

My first bite was very dry and I wasn't sure what I was tasting. It didn't taste like crab for sure, so I had a second bite. It was bad. I asked one of the workers if I could switch it out with anything, she said she'll ask the manager. The assistant manager came and told me that she cannot swap it out and that I should have read in the description that it's only imitation crab meat. Ok, I can own that, I could have read the fine print. But it wasn't just the taste, it was also the texture, the over fried dried dough... I really wish that she could have been more understanding and more accommodating. It's only a bakery item and not a prime rib dinner. Not only the crab croquette left a bad taste, the lack of service and courtesy also left a bad taste.

Sweet potato bun (?)- forgot the name but it's a long roll with purple sweet potato in it. Again, not overly sweet and very enjoyable. Their breads are very soft and fluffy. We arrived around 2:15 pm and there was already a short line by the register. After briefly looking around, we ended up choosing: Peanut Bun, $2.05- I really liked this bun, it was filled with plenty of chopped peanuts. But I did not like finding baking paper that was forgotten to be pulled off on a few bites and having to spit out that paper. Sesame Bun, $2.05- Luckily the black sesame bun did not have any baking paper when I ate this bun a few days after purchasing. But I did like this bun, as there was plenty of black sesame paste that was the perfect sweetness (of not being too sweet). Matcha Almond Croissant, $3- My husband had this the next day and enjoyed it. --------------------------- (Total= $7.10) Service was friendly. The 2 employees who helped us spoke both English and Mandarin. And what was nice was that they bagged our 3 items in a plastic bag and handed it to us after paying for it (I paid credit card and did not see a credit card minimum sign). The only reason why I bring this is up is because Sunmerry and 85C Bakery both charge $10 for a plastic bag so it was nice to see that this JJ bakery just gave us a bag for free (or that it is already built in the cost of their baked goods). Inside this bakery are a few tables and chairs, which is nice if you want to sit and chat with a friend/ family member and enjoy your purchase here. We ended up taking our items back home. The staff member who answered the phone asked us to bring the whole cake back for an exchange. Based on that conversation, we decided to bring only the fruit back to show them. When we arrived at the store, another staff member told us that since we did not bring the entire cake and that only the fruit was bad, she could exchange the fruit only, not the cake. She also stated that the staff member who answered the phone was new and had not explained things clearly. Although we were eventually given a replacement cake, the experience was very unpleasant. There was no acknowledgment of fault, no apology, and our question about when the cake was made was not answered. The replacement was given reluctantly. We have been loyal customers of this bakery for many years and have always had wonderful experiences celebrating special occasions with their cakes.
