This is the perfect place to pick up food on your way into town(or even going out of town) to take down to the plaza for a picnic! Its literally one stop shopping. You can buy Bonneau wine(and sample before you buy!), get wonderful sandwiches, pre-made salads, cheese and more! Or you can eat on their patio! I typically hate pasta salad, but my husband bought some and told me I had to taste it. I ended stealing it from him! They are also open for breakfast, and their breakfast sammies are sooo good. Stopped in for a quick sammie. Ended up with.. SPONTANIOUS LUNCHTIME WINE TASTING! score! Dude in the back used all the right adjectives. Lets review: rosy bouquet? check. oakey? check hints of honey and spice? check pallette? check aged in blah blah? check and so on. and so forth. Dude was so happy to see someone midday on a monday that he pulled out all the stops. Got the special bottle from under the counter even. I needed to stop and grab some coffee & breakfast before heading back to SF. I saw Carneros Deli and decided to stop. I was with my family, so we got a bunch of breakfast sandwiches. Bacon, egg, and cheese on croissants.. Ham, egg, and cheese on English muffins and wheat toast- all to die for. The scrambled eggs were so fresh! So was the meat in all of the sandwiches. The croissant was delicious too! My mother got a coffee and said it was great. The woman that rang us up actually said the coffee was on her, which was a nice surprise. The staff was unbelievably friendly. They could tell we were from out of town and made nice conversation. The place had everything from fresh sandwiches, salads, to plenty of other things on the lunch menu. Most of the ingredients were local. I wished I found this place sooner because I would have made more trips while in Sonoma. They have plenty of other snacks along with beer, wine, and soft drinks. Definitely stop by this place! This review bums me out. I don't want to write it, but I'm done. This was my favorite local deli for the last several years. It used to be good, sometimes the service was gruff from one employee but I didn't fault anyone because it was still efficient and the sandwiches were great! Every time I have gotten food from here recently there's been some big issue or hassle. From being left on hold, forgotten about and disconnected to rude employees taking my order, my order being wrong, sandwiches hastily thrown together with no condiments, peppers still having seeds and stems, to unripe tomatoes, to the indifference of the folks working there. What happened? I'm a patient person and get they've had a lot of change but this is almost a year of both bad customer service and deteriorating sandwich assembly. Please. Pretty please. Stop. Forgetting condiments folks. Be rude and make good food or be nice and make mediocre sandwiches. But don't be rude and make disappointing sandwiches. read more

How to: When you walk in there is a deli counter to dot eh sandwich ordering. There are notepads and pens (with lovely bouquets of fake flowers attached to them- easy to find) for placing your order. Choose your meat, bread, cheese and toppings. Write your name on top and hand this form to the person behind the counter. Tip: these are substantial sandwiches. If you're not super hungry, you can order a half sandwich! Meanwhile, there is a huge selection of beverage containers, and the option to purchase wine with your meal. There's a deli case filled with delicious things like hard boiled eggs and tiramisu. Meals are packed nicely in a brown bag and perfect to take on a picnic or enjoy at the patio tables at the deli. My boyfriend and I were driving past this deli when I suggested we try it out for a quick bite to eat as we were both starving. It was a good idea! We split a yummy sandwich which was enough to remove any feelings of hunger we were having. The people inside the deli were extremely nice. The lady making our sandwich accommodated our request when we asked to split a sandwich but add a few different condiments to each half. She also gave us some Hershey's kisses at the cash register! This is a great little deli in the middle of nowhere. I had a sandwich and it was modestly priced, made with really fresh ingredients and crisp bread. Service was good and prompt. What more could you ask for? Additionally, there's tons of beer, wine, and other drinks in the coolers. There's an outdoor back patio, but it's views are all covered - probably because all you'd see is a warehouse and a gas station. read more

I had a warm chicken sandwich with chipotle mayo, pepper jack cheese, roasted red peppers - yummy! I also had them add avocado. (they forgot to put it on and I paid for it but after the first bite and I noticed that the avocado was missing I went back inside and not only did they put some on, apologize, and the person who forgot to put it on even OWNED it, they refunded my $1.50 that I paid extra for the avocado!) I had an Italian sub with the provolone mortadella and other Italian meats very, fresh sandwich great price will definitely go again I went here on Saturday before the NHRA drag race game. I went to Carneros Deli last weekend for the first time with a date and had quite possibly the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever eaten. The pork was incredibly tender and the BBQ sauce was excellent (I had it with extra sauce). Barely passable. If it wasn't for the friendly staff I would stay far away. However, they are just about the only game in town and know it. In the 18 years that I have worked in the area the sandwiches have gotten smaller and prices outstripped quality. These days it is a couple of pieces of deli meat on a usually half stale roll. Rather than a quality roll from one of the local bakeries, a cut rate bun is used instead. Sandwich toppings are sparingly used, which is a pity, given what a dry sponge the bread usually is. Veggie Deluxe? What comes on it? A few spouts, a smear of avocado, a tomato, maybe two and the other standard toppings. Since it defaults to 'with cheese', why not call it a Cheese Deluxe, unless you were to offer some actual vegetables? (Cucumber, spinach, would be a good start). And finally, what never ceases to amaze me is the fact that they all seem caught off guard when people show up at lunchtime looking for sandwiches. The place quickly becomes packed with zombies waiting and waiting and waiting for their sandwich to be made. If you don't have 20 minutes to kill stay away! (Or type a review!) And just so you know, just about everything is $7, though they have some italian speciality meats (coppa, prosciutto, etc) they charge $10 for. Good luck with that. Beer is cold though! read more

This is a great little deli and store. Feels like you just stepped back in time to a day when everybody knew your name around town. The service was fast and friendly, and the food is great. I especially like their deli sandwiches on soft roll. Great stopping point in Sonoma if you want to grab sandwiches and the places gets pretty busy. They have different varieties of mustard (maybe 5-5) and a ton of toppings to choose from. They had a great vegetarian sandwich which was great for our group and other sandwich options such as Dutch crunch and different varieties of sourdough. You can also order half a sandwich which most of my group did since the full ones are very filling. read more
