Damn, I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews but I actually REGRET not chewing out the staff that was in today. Mind you, this store only has one of each size out on the floor so you HAVE to rely on staff in order to ****ing buy anything. My partner and I came in to buy 4 shirts, shoes, shorts, a tie, and potentially even a suit. We asked to see the shirts to which the employee gave us a HUGE attitude and refused to go in the back or even use the store device to check for other sizes?? He handed us a shirt in the wrong color & size from off the floor instead, saying "well, they all have the same fit so..." which I don't understand because the store is only about 400 sq feet, we were the only customers there, and there's only sample sizes so it's not like he has to standardize anything??? Not to mention, we were in about four hours before closing, so I can't think of any reason for this unwillingness to help. Any time we asked to try on something, we were met with some excuse to not have it. I can only assume that the staff here doesn't work on commission because we even asked to order stuff that wasn't available in-store to which we were told to just "do it [ourselves]" on the phone. I worked in retail for seven years, and am always cautious to treat other staff members with utmost respect, but the way this particular employee behaved towards my partner was completely unprofessional and outright ugly. Completely disappointed. Despite loving the clothing here, we certainly won't be back -- and seeing how many other one star reviews there are for the terrible service... I definitely think management should look into improving their hiring practices. read more

My husband and I walked in to a clean, well-organized store. It was to browse, and I like being able to see and touch all the fabrics. Amin welcomed us and was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional without being pushy. He asked what we were looking for and explained options accordingly, giving style ideas and considerations. He was very kind, non-judgmental and easy to work with. Honestly the best service we've had in a clothing store in years. Amin created a fit profile, so it's easy for us to order whatever we want in the future. He walked us through what worked for my husband, and even gave a first-timers discount! We don't have the clothes yet, but fabrics are great, pieces are well-made and I'm looking forward to seeing my husband enjoy his new things. Highly recommend! read more

The store completely lost me when I realized the Italian suit they were selling for $1,000 was made in China. On closer inspection, everything in the store is made in China, Bangladesh, India, etc. Of course there is certainly nothing wrong with products made in these countries, except that Walmart is where I shop if I'm looking for discount clothes imported in mass quantities in shipping containers from giant factories in China. They're getting two stars because there employees do seem very enthused and helpful. read more

First, the good news. Best chinos ever and really great shirts. I've been buying the chinos online forever. But I went in to buy a blazer. The whole point of the place, so you know, is to try stuff on. You walk out with nothing. You try clothes on and then, like buying online, you pay and they send you your clothes in a couple of days. I can live with ALL of that...except... The jacket in my size that I wanted to try on was on a mannequin. So I had to try one on that was "close" and imagine what the right one would be like. I purchased a shirt as well. When I got the box, it didn't feel particularly "premium." It was a shirt and a jacket on a plastic hanger wrapped in plastic. The shirt fit fine but the jacket didn't so I sent it back. Nice that there is a return label in the package. You don't have to go online and "request a return" or print anything out. But if you're going to have a shop that really doesn't sell anything and I'm willing to forgo immediate gratification, at least have one of EVERYTHING there in every size and ship them extras for the mannequins. read more

Today, we were in need of a suit fast. We walked in and Ish and Ebony were so very nice to help us. Ebony helped to find their slimmest size available. We needed it altered and Ebony helped to pin up and recommended Lusona alterations for rush alterations which was a great recommendation. We bought the suit and immediately went to the alterations place where the seamstress pointed out that whomever pinned the suit SNAGGED the fabric in the middle of the back. We couldn't go back to the store to return it because we were in a rush so had to make due with what we bought which was going to be good until it was SNAGGED by the pin that the store clerk put in the brand new suit coat. I'm really disappointed with what we bought and that we had to be stuck with it but we did give a star because it is in a good location and the staff was nice just not good at keeping the product nice before leaving the store. Go ahead and buy something here but make sure that you tell them not to pin anything on your item because you will be stuck with something that is messed up and have to pay for it anyway. read more

I have been in this store in Walnut Creek three times. Two times Ebony helped us and one time was a man who's name I don't remember. The service was quite good. They were attentive, seemed liked they understood the products and, though not everything we wanted was available (even to order) the process went well. Chaos on the back end (1 star for this part of the experience) - the suit we were guaranteed to get by a certain day all of a sudden was not available at all and we had to cancel the whole order and rush to purchase another suit for a wedding. I am hoping that was a COVID supply chain one time mistake because that was awful. The selection is nice though it is frustrating not to be able to see all the available colors in person - even if they had every color in a different size one could see it against your skin. Overall I understand the concept but there are some hiccups to work out with execution. The staff was the best part. read more

Had to buy a suit for a wedding on short notice. I was super stressed but I walked in the door and Ebony took exquisite care of me and I walked out looking forward to looking great at the wedding. She was totally kind and understanding about my complete lack of knowledge about this type of clothing and helping me find something without any pressure or judgment. This place is a great middle ground between totally custom suits and grabbing whatever you can find at a place that doesn't tailor. Feels good to wear. And Ebony, again, was stellar. read more

These guys suck, I placed an order in the Walnut Creek store on 7/5/19 Paid extra to get it shipped 2-day locally to Walnut Creek Not only did they miss that window, it's now 7/17/19 and the order is somewhere in Massachusetts I originally wanted the order for a vacation, and at this point I've been home from that vacation for 3 days. I'm calling to cancel the order tomorrow and get a refund. I thought they had a cool, novel way to shop for clothes, but apparently they don't have their act together. read more

Spent about $1500 on new clothes: one suit, sport coat, miscellaneous pants. One of the pairs of pants started fraying so I took them back, was told that it was beyond the 60 day return policy, so they would not allow me to exchange for a new pair. Completely unacceptable, was flabbergasted by the poor customer service and short sightedness of keeping a loyal customer around. I will never buy another stitch of clothing from this company. Guess I will go back to Banana Republic and Nordstrom's. read more

Was greeted by Darrel and he quickly helped me pick out some chinos. Bonobos has some of the best tailor fit chinos. Just a heads-up, they don't have them in store to purchase, just to try on. Darrel told me it takes 2-3 days and shipping is free. Overall a great experience and I'm glad I came in store to try them all on. read more

I really like many of the clothing items they have but the business model will keep me from ever buying anything there. On my recent visit I found some short-sleeved linen henley shirts that I really liked. I was ready to make a purchase but wanted to try one on. I was told they didn't have any of them to try on but she had something "similar" that I could try on. She then went into her sales pitch about how Bonobos is all about fit, they have four fits, etc, etc, etc and etc. I'm not interested in trying on something "similar". I want to see how that specific henley in the color I want fits and looks on me and against my skin color. I left without making a purchase and won't be back. read more

I went to this guide shop to buy my first suit, and I'm glad I did. There was a greater variety of what's available for my size (36 in. chest) than Nordstrom (because all the clothes are ordered to deliver rather than off the rack) and more affordable also. I did my research to figure out proper suit fit, but I still had plenty of questions, and the guide who helped fit me (Kim Duong) was happy to answer all of them. The way their fitting works is that there are sizes that you try on first to find your fit, then you choose the color of your suit separately, then they order that combination for you online - I didn't mind this at all, but do be aware. Being the emotional snowflake that I am, the Bonobos guide shop took all the drama and pressure out of buying my first suit, and I felt well taken care of. I left feeling great about my purchase and confident that the fit and the color of my suit really 'fit' me as a person, and that I wasn't settling on what's next best. I would definitely recommend other first time suit-buyers to look for their suit here. read more
