I got my daughter's prom dress here and will only come here for future dresses. From the beginning, we were greeted and served by Alyssa. She was very involved and helpful/attentive. The dress we ended up getting was one that my daughter hadn't even considered, but Alyssa had her try for size reference for the dress she picked. We fell in love with this dress. We went to other places afterwards. Just to shop around. It was horrible compared to Gesinees. This place makes it so easy and they're organized. Other places it's like cattle call and whatever you see on the rack is all they have. At Gesinee's they list all the color options for each dress. They're organized with tags on each by color. The dress was shipped very quickly and the staff helped us try it on before we left. When the manager (I think her name was Sara) realized the zipper was a bit tight, she brought it right back to the seamstress and had it adjusted for us. She was so amazing, personable, energetic, and reassuring. Everyone here is just so helpful. We were constantly asked if we were being helped while we waited. To start, I did luckily find my dress! Just a warning for midsize to bigger girls. It genuinely took me about 15 mins to find a dress that wasn't size 00-4, as a size 10 I was very frustrated trying to find some dresses. found about 3 dresses my actual size. I was directly told by a worker that "you can try on a size 2, we will make it work.".. Most dresses there will be in the 00 to 4 range with a random 16 or 20 here and there. Also, The woman helping me wasn't really paying attention to me at all! There was multiple times I had to get my mom to help me with a dress because the woman was talking to friends or just no where to be found. When she was helping me she could have been nicer too. The atmosphere felt very unorganized, I got there 15 minutes early to have some time to look at dresses and even when it was my scheduled time no one came to help me. It wasn't until 15 minutes after my scheduled time that i was finally brought into a changing room. I did find my dress, I'm not a picky person, but if you do find yourself to be picky with your dresses i wouldn't recommend this place. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!Regarding my dress, I gave a call yesterday, March 21, at 3:21. I gave Sara, the manager, all the details of my dress, which I had tried on two or three weeks prior. After providing the details of the dress over the phone, I was told, "Yes, we have it." For the dress, I drove to Concord from Hayward. When I arrived, they handed me the wrong dress. To inform me face-to-face that they don't have it, they spent an hour and a half out of my day to drive. when it was obvious they could have told me when i had called. Even though i did end up getting a dress after the fact they showed me the wrong one, Sara did not provide me no other options or offer to order the dress or even show me similar options they had. After fifteen minutes of standing in the check-stand, none of the workers offered to help me and this other person of color. it felt like we were being ignored and all the other girls that walked in would get treated IMMEDIATELY. read more

When I was there all the staff was nice. Found a dress I sort of liked (cuz they don't have that many dresses for "plus size") I ordered it February 2nd I was told I would get a call last week of February first couple days of March. I still haven't received a call. I called last week and they said they didn't know where it is but they should be getting it any day. Now it's March 17th and I still haven't received a call. I'm quite mad and don't even want the dress anymore. Manager Sara and Sales Associate Serena were SUCH lovely people! My daughter and I bought a dress elsewhere that still didn't fit after alternations. We took a chance and called Gesinee's last minute and booked an appointment the same day for prom dresses. Serena was swamped with people walking in (I believe you are supposed to make an appointment in advance) yet still helped us and was so, so patient as we tried on gowns. Manager Sara is a mom and knows what a struggle and how hard it is to find that perfect dress. She really took the time to measure my daughter and even was able to order the dress she really loved. Gesinee's has some gorgeous dresses by amazing designers, and the shop is extremely cute. I went today for prom dress shopping and I made sure I made my appointment a few weeks ago... when they called me back for my appointment I was told "1 adult with you, and if you have a man with you please let us know in advance so we can provide a special room"... I went with my grandma and that was it. When we arrived today it was very quiet and I thought it was going to be a great experience but all of a sudden there were so many people. There would be 3-4 adults for one person and a lot of girls had their boyfriends with them just standing outside of the dressing rooms... Even though you make an appointment for a 1on1 experience with someone, they will be helping several others and will be gone when you need them to tie up your dress... It was very busy and overwhelming.. the staff was very kind but it was a bit of a struggle explaining what I didn't feel interested in, and what I did like, just for them to bring me everything I did not want.. I'm sure they are less busy in the early prom season months like December-February... otherwise I think they schedule too many people for one day.. read more

Definitely make an appointment. Some staff are new so just be patient and don't be afraid to ask questions. Check to see if your desired dress is in stock or has to be ordered- allow time for alternations if needed. The problem came when my daughter went to pick up her dress. The lady working told my 17 year old daughter she owed money for the dress because the original sales lady didn't do the math correctly (paper receipt) and did not charge us the correct amount. Thank goodness my daughter has a debit card or she would probably be without a dress for her special event. Intimidating a teen who is excited to get their dress is a horrible business practice. I was shocked a business who has had a good reputation for years would handle this in such a way. I went there for an appointment on April 17th 2021. My appointment was at 12 (noon). The lady told me she would be right with. I was literally there for 1 hour sitting down waiting to be assisted. Meanwhile they assisted people who walked in after me. Yes, they were aware of my presence, they were just waiting on "someone" to come help me and they never did. Gesinee's has a few stores in Concord and it was on the cheaper end to rent from them rather than going through Men's Warehouse or other rental places in the bay area. My husband and I rented the vests, bow-ties and ties from them and were happy with the process of ordering and pick up. The one thing that we were completely annoyed with was the young lady who works the front end of the store at the Tuxedo Suit Rental shop. She is sooo hard to understand and she is completely unaware of what is going on. She does not know how to do simple tasks like refunds or doing math for charges. The manager needs to hire a new staff at that store if they want to have good business and business flowing in. read more

I came here to get my ball dress and I absolutely loved it. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a sales associate named Andrea and asked if I needed any help and what ideas I had in mind to look for. I wasn't really sure exactly what I wanted but I told them I wanted a slit and I was open to colors. I pulled a few for myself but the girl helping me pulled a lot of dresses for me as well and they were all extremely cute. She was really good about pulling dresses she thought would be my size so that I could fit into them and really get a feel for how the dress looked on me. I ended up buying off stock and they made it super easy and helped me set up my alterations appointment. Everyone in both the prom and alterations building were very kind and helpful. My sister and friends went there to get there dresses as well because of my experience and they had great experiences too. Make sure you try on the clothes... We came in for measurements, then came to pick up the tuxedo and almost everything didn't fit. The pants were well above his ankles, looked like capris. The jacket sleeves were too short, the shirt too big. It was a mess. We waiting over 15 minutes to get let back in the building. Missed the wedding rehearsal because the tux didn't fit and then found out at the wedding that the pants were not the same pants as everyone else in the wedding. All in all, if we had a choice next time, we definitely will go somewhere else. The people were nice, but that's not why we went there. read more

She was patient when I was trying on many dresses and also helped me with some decisions on which dress to keep and say no too. She always asked if I was okay and how I liked the dress on. My experience with Gesinees Bridal couldn't have been better. However, at Gesinees Formal Wear, my groom and my experience, along with the groomsmen, was polar opposite from the bridal shop! First the tuxes were all much too big and had to be sent back (we had to pay extra for this.). Then they re-ordered tuxes in a smaller size, which we also had to pay an additional $20 for just to be able to try on so that when it came time to have them for the wedding they would be certain the right size would be ordered and that it would fit. The re-ordered "try on" tux fit. When it came time for them to order the tuxes for the actual wedding, they ordered the wrong sizes, and all the tuxes were too big. 2days before the wedding! So, they had to re-order AGAIN! Finally the day before the wedding, they had the core t tux sizes for the groom, father of the bride, and 5 groomsmen. We got so caught up worrying that the tuxes were going to fit and be in on time that we didn't think twice to check that all of the men's tuxes came with the glitter gold bow ties that we ordered. Come the day of the wedding, while the men were getting dressed in the changing room at the church, they discovered that 5 of the men received the glitter gold bow ties as specified, and 2 of the men ended up with Pink clip-on neck ties! Our wedding colors were navy blue (tuxes) and glitter gold. We even ordered glitter gold pocket squares for all the fellas to match the bow ties (they got the pocket squares right. There was nothing that could be done to correct this mistake. After our wedding my husband called Gesinees to let them know of this Pink tie fiasco. They had nothing to say except "Didn't your wife look amazing in her dress?!?!?" Unbelievable. I'm giving 2 stars only because they finally got the tux sizes right AND I was so pleased with the Bridal Shop. See the photo below.
