Finally good food and great service. The machaca and eggs was great. Lumberjack we asked for hash browns crispy (but not burnt) and they were perfect. Salsa is very mild but good. Service was great and food came quickly (unlike a lot of places here). We were even going to go back for dinner but got too tired and stayed in. Only and very small complaint waitress forgot our side of pancakes but we were so full from the good food it didn't matter. I 100% recommend. And a full bar for those who care. read more

I've given this place three tries, and each time it seems to have gotten progressively worse. If half the tables are occupied, then the staff is overwhelmed apparently. Slow service, order a chimi and get a taco (huh? How do you mix up those?). If there's more than 4 customers in the bar, then don't expect timely service...especially if ordering food. Servers and bartender were all very nice, young and anxious to please, but management obviously is not involved enough to provide proper leadership to their crew. Food is ok. Well... guess we caught them on a off day. Read the other reviews & gave it a try. If you like Pace Picante salsa then the chips & salsa will make you happy. Oh, and if you would like a $4 burrito for $9 then you will definitely like this place. I used to eat here once a week, but now that I've retired and I live 50 miles away, I hadn't eaten here in a couple of yrs. I was really looking forward to the chimichanga, my favorite, and it's just as good as ever. I prefer beef, with green chili, naturally from Hatch county. It is as good as I remembered it. Wife, who usually sticks to a single taco ( I know, she's tiny), decided to chimi with me, and all she could say was how right I was. It's really all about the best green chili in the world, from Hatch, and perfectly seasoned guacamole. I'm always amazed by tourists from the east who consider themselves experts on Mexican food. There is so much more to learn from the southwest, hopefully they will appreciate our best restaurants in time. 5 stars all day long. read more

So we were riding the Devil's Highway on our motorcycles and stopped here in the middle of a down pour to dry off and get something to eat. There was 5 of us so we ask if we could sit in the larger dinning room. They said yes. The food was OK at best. Stopped in here for a quick "to go" burrito on my way out of Springerville after a work trip. My bean and cheese burro was just okay, service was adequate, the chips tasted store bought and slightly stale, and the Coke was flattish. As another reviewer stated the salsa tasted like Pace. I've never gone on yelp to put down anybody but I felt this was a need to rate, just to help other people. The service was the worst that I've had in probably 10 years. The food was halfway decent, I was not expecting it to be great food by any means so I would have to give my plate three stars. The other persons with me that got a taco got half of a hamburger patty in there taco for the ground beef. The price wasn't ridiculous but for the same plate it was about three dollars more than most all of the other restaurants around. Sorry to have to give you such a low score a bit hopefully the owner gets this and can help improve the quality with this feedback. I will come back and try it again in a month or so and let's see if anything has changed. read more

This place gets such raves on occasion, including Arizona Highways, that it makes you wonder about the bandwagon effect, or the emperor with no clothes. It is a local restaurant with edible food, but as far as a regional gourmet Mex, well, that's a far off dream. The food was average for a small town restaurant, the green chili was no better than a dozen other restaurants, but consider that the small town effect here makes it an apparent standout among a very sparse selection. Seems like my review will be slightly different than previously ones....I gave it a shot because of the high reviews and it was across the street from my hotel. For sure, this was not traditional Mexican food. Rice was tasteless and out of a box, beans came from a can on the same shelf, my chicken enchilada was boring and my beef taco had some sort of pressed beef patty in a hard shell. Never found a single onion or cilantro, I would compare the whole experience with a TV dinner or a meal from the galley when I was a sailor. The service was fine with the waitress very friendly with that being the only reason I gave more than 1 star. read more

Only went to the bar. Liked the bar decor prices were very reasonable on drinks. If you go between 3pm and 6pm they have a five dollar menu. The 4 tacos for 5 bucks is a great deal. Only drawback is the bar is small so there was not anywhere to sit at the bar. read more

The Fam and I came here one afternoon because Los Dos Molinos was closed until dinner service. We had looked up the reviews and saw they were decent. I can't stress enough how disappointed we were. The chips were stale and the salsa was worse than Pace Picante, more like Safeway Brand. We had hoped that the margaritas would redeem them but were sadly mistaken. I have family that stay in the area during the summer and eat here fairly frequently and they love the place. When we joined them for a lunch this summer, even they were disappointed on the day we visited, so it seems evident that the quality of the food will vary greatly depending apparently on who is in the kitchen. Yes the chips and salsa are free, but the salsa was so bad (canned tomato flavor and runny as heck) and when we asked if there was a spicier salsa back there she could bring, the waitress returned with something that tasted like ketchup gone bad. The chile relleno was ok, but pretty soggy and overly breaded. The rest of the table had dishes that were ok and not great. Take your chances and maybe you'll find them on a good day. read more

My dad and I were going through Springerville on the way to Albuquerque and we stopped in at Booga Red. I gotta say, we were thoroughly disappointed. We got in and took a seat, the waitress took our orders and said she'd"be right back with some chips and salsa" she was not right back. She had forgotten about us,and if it had been busier I would have understood. But no, there were about 6 tables filled and 6 waiters. She noticed about 10 minutes later and then told us again that she would be back with chips and salsa. This time she was. It was mediocre at best. The salsa seemed store bought and the chips were tasteless. I ordered the choose 2 combination with an enchilada and tamale. The plate was spicy. But it tasted like a fake spicy. It was as if someone had dumped some artificial spiciness into my food. Not good at all. The wait is long and the food is overpriced. My advice, go about 2 streets down. There's a subway, it'll save you time and money. read more
