Tenders are good, the breading could be a bit lighter. House salad is good, romaine lettuce with shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, cucumber and crispy croutons. Salad held up against the blue cheese. Hamburger is tasty, they even had an ostrich burger!!! Decor is nice, good vibe and has outside dining. Limited on tap, said they were having problems so hopefully they figure that out before next visit. They did run out of baked potatoes and the mashed potato alternative was so so, but cold. Hands-down this is the place to go if you want some of the best salmon patties I've ever had in my life as well. My husband had the wagyu burger and it was quite delicious! We also ordered one of their pretzels as an appetizer, and their homemade beer cheese is right up there with Richos in New Albany. The food was pretty amazing! Now keeping in mind the times that we're in and that this is 2020 they didn't have a lot of staff. This is a very large building and it's really hard to see the host to stand from the dining room. So we waited about 10 minutes before anybody even noticed we were there which gave me plenty of time to snap pictures. There were only two servers. The gentleman who stated this was one of the servers and he told us all about the history of the building, And pointed out there's about $1500 worth of pennies on the floor as part of the decor. Our server was new, I don't quite remember her name and I don't remember seeing her name tag but she was very nice she was just a bit slow getting drinks to us. She told us all about the menu and she was incredibly enthused about the menu. We left a $10 tip, which is to say that despite there being a bit of slow service it was genuine, kind, caring and efficient service. And for the food to come out piping hot and perfect in every way was absolutely astounding when other local mom and pop places can't do that repeatedly. read more

We ate at Boomtown for the first time tonight. We ordered online and planned to use their curbside pickup option. Unfortunately, we placed our order before we realized their hours had changed due to the pandemic. The staff texted me to inform me that although their restaurant closed about an hour ago, they would be happy to complete my order! They were super nice and accommodating. The chef personally brought the food to my car and was very friendly. We ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, chicken tenders with fries, and pretzel with beer cheese. Everything was hot and fresh. The pretzel was crispy, chewy, and perfect. The beer cheese had a nice spice and great flavor. The buffalo sauce was flavorful and tasted homemade. With all of the stress related to the pandemic, it is nice to know there are friendly people running local restaurants and taking care of their customers. We visited Boomtown after going to a local dog festival a block away. We went at an off hour and had the wonderful, shady porch all to ourselves. They had plenty of water bowls out for the pups and even brought him a toy and treats. The location is prime just a block from the amphitheater and right on the main drag of NA. The porch in the back is completely shaded by large trees and there is a lovely breeze coming off the river. There's lots of seating and umbrellas too! We got $1 hotdogs as part of a promotion and ordered the pretzel and cheese fries. The food was really only maybe a notch or two above just ok but the prime location and service will make us return. The loaded fries had a TON of flavor but the fries were limp and a little lethargic. If they had been crisp the frost would have been a serious winner. The pretzel and beer cheese were polar opposites. The pretzel was AMAZING. It was hot and crisp on the outside and steamy soft on the inside. It was big enough to feed a crowd! The beer cheese was just ok--lacked flavor and it was really just a bland queso--id order it again just for the pretzel though! The service was great and we felt unrushed and welcome. By far, the best fish and chips I've had in a while. It was a perfect portion. Their one piece of fish is huge. I'm pretty sure the fish was catfish which isn't my favorite but it was moist, flaky and the coating was super light and crispy. The fries were also tasty. We found Boomtown by searching Yelp as we drove north on I-65. While there was nothing special about the menu or the items we ordered (ok, the camel burger was unique), what they did, they did well. We started with the giant pretzel and beer cheese. Both were good, though the cheese would have been better if it had been warmer. The beef burgers (ordered by 3/4 of us) were delicious. Exactly the taste I was looking for. My husband said the fries were surprisingly tasty. I opted for sautéed mushrooms as a side and was glad there were several non-fried options. Ordering: Out of the first three beers I requested (they were on the beer list) and nothing on tap. There were no cold glasses for beer but there were glasses -- put them in the freezer. They were out of three things on the menu -- major pet peeve when it's a standard menu item and a Thursday night, come on. My salmon patties would have been good except they tasted like they were cooked with a hamburger-- I assume they just throw them on the same area of the grill. My second venture to Boomtown!! Perry-Dise is an AWESOME server. Pays attention to almost all the customers at once. It's like he has sonar hearing or really anticipates your needs. The food is great. May I recommend a burger? Or perhaps the salmon cakes and cucumber, tomato, onion salad?!! I say yes to both, well not at the same time. The beverages are just a great. We were treated to these delights. They may not look like that big of a deal but they are made table side and there is a bit of magic that happens, I won't disclose the secret. Go see for yourself. Today is my birthday and I was planning on going to a winery. However, it was closed. When driving home I went past the boomtown kitchen and stopped in for dinner. I'm so glad the winery was closed because I just had one of the best dining experiences of my life. We came here with a group of 8 of us to try for the first time. The farm style decor was charming and inviting. Our major complaint with the restaurant was our drinks. We were told that the draft beer "machine" was down so we were limited to bottles/cans. Not a huge deal to the guys ordering beers though. But the cocktails and wine the girls ordered were....not good. It was obvious that the wine and vodka used in the cocktails were cheap. Instant headache. However, the food (that I ordered anyway) more than made up for the drinks! I ordered salmon cakes with boom boom sauce on top and green beans; both delicious! We also enjoyed the appetizers of fried pickles, spinach artichoke dip and loaded fries. We will definitely be back, for the food at least :) read more

We asked her a question about the pretzel for an allergy and she seemed to be bothered by our question. Bathrooms were dirty and floors were too. I got the spinach artichoke grilled cheese sandwich and it was good. The club sandwich was served to my friend and the bread was old and moldy. We had really liked Boomtown in the past but tonight we were disappointed. We ordered a pretzel and it came out at the same time as our meal. The pretzel and the cheese were both barely hot. Our entrees were not super hot either and just weren't very good. Our waitress was sitting at a table playing on a device when we could have used more to drink. There were only two other groups in there the whole time we were eating. (Surprising on a Friday night). Maybe they could try having happy hour drinks or appetizers. I usually get the blackened salmon but tonight I got the salmon cakes. I will not get those again. The menu also said that my entree came with two sides but I was charged extra for the second side. Decided to try Boomtown the other night. Loved the penny floor. We were seated at the bar. The bar needs to come out about 6-8 inches so you can eat at it. We mentioned that to the bartender and she said that was in the works soon. My husband got the pork chop... the bartender told us it was 2 4oz Pork Chops... but the owner? walked by and said they were 2 8 oz chops..... they were 4oz each. Not a lot of flavor and thin. I got the Boomtown club. and a side salad. Both were fine ...nothing that makes me want to rush back. The STAR of the entire meal was the honey mustard dressing. Delish. They were also out of the 2 beers that we wanted to try. I would also recommend they look at their plating style? New opening hiccups? We may try again and see how they have come along.... read more

The food was pretty good, I got a chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the service was so all over the place. I worked as a server for 4 years, trust me I know it's a tough job, but we waited nearly 30 minutes to get seated even though the restaurant was empty and their were 2 servers on the floor. Then when we did get seated no one came to greet us for another 20 minutes. Luckily my friend and I had plenty of time, but that's pretty terrible for a Tuesday at 2.
