The food I have tried so far are rated from, THE best to least are: Chocolate Chip Cookies Asian Noodles and Sopes, just ok but the tortilla base was too hard and too cold to bite. Boont Berry Farm presents a great food option for vegans in the Anderson valley. Although there are many vegetarian choices available the food counter/cashier area is chaotic! It gets gnarly in there when there are 3 or more people... It is worth a visit though, it's got the curb appeal and the Boonville vibe too! read more

This small organic cafe is a wonderful spot for a cake purchase if you are staying in the Anderson Valley area. We had a spring break that included a birthday while staying nearby, and the owner of the Air B&B recommended we try this spot for a birthday cake. The oven was originally on the fritz when we called, but the owner followed up and let us know it had been fixed and we could order a chocolate cake. They made a beautiful small cake that felt and looked homemade, and tasted even better. Apparently they specialize in a rum filling on their cakes, but since our birthday celebration was for a teen, they flexibly created a cake that incorporated chocolate and fruit, with delicious buttercream frosting. The cake tasted great and looked fantastic. This is a tiny hyperlocal spot that bakes to order, so order ahead if staying in the area. read more

Hungry tourists. Came mid-week before Christmas. Mostly no restaurants open. The helpful person at Disco Ranch (another review) said drive a couple houses up look for a wooden house and go through to the back. We saw smoothies, and thought uh oh. I asked a friendly couple who were entering, if they served food. Oh, yes, it's a deli. Whoo Hoo! Ran to tell hub and in we go, I get immediately sidetracked by organic everything! The helpful local finds me and says follow me. A deli! With albondigas turkey meatball soup, meatless lasagna and enchiladas. Fajitas veggies w/ chicken and divine not sicky sweet carrot cake. Go for the provisions, including gorgeous produce and gourmet mustard, pasta, wine. Lots of vegan options. Stay for the deli counter with homemade food including barbecue tofu and vegan cookies. This is my favorite market on the planet, and I dream of going back when I'm not in town. The vibe is easy and healthy, not fussy. I do agree with another reviewer: this isn't one of those designer places like in Napa. It's just really great eats in what seems like a wooden home. To me, that's perfect. We have been stopping by Boont Berry for years on our way to or from the coast. Their deli foods are great - usually some salads, enchiladas, lasagna and other goodies. The store is packed with great organic and healthy foods, drinks and a fresh produce section. When we stopped by this week the Paella and Enchiladas were great as always! read more

The store is great but this review is about the deli/bakery. The head chef's name is Bert...Burt...I don't know but the guy is a genius/sadist who's mission in life is to torture your taste buds with flavor and texture perfection. I'm not kidding! When my bff and I first found this place, we tried only the rugelach. I don't know but I've never had a rugelach like it. Flakey, not too sweet, we were pre-ordering them 100 at a time and eating them all ourselves. The peach mango scones are to die for, oh and the vegan cupcakes. On Fridays he makes a jalapeño cheesebread, which we were also addicted to. I don't know what he puts in the Caesar salad but I would like to bathe in it. My bff and I pretty much have our addiction under control, now if we are there for a weekend, we pre order a small tiramisu (you have got to try,) buy a few scones, a salad, and whatever rugelach is left in the bakery.... In our defense, this is much less than it used to be. As I am writing this review, my bf is trying to stop me from talking about the rugelach for fear that the word will get out. Found lots to love about this little place. A wide assortment of dark chocolate of which we bought several bars. Also picked up some fresh organic produce for salads later. Lots of foodie finds in the form of little jars, wines & ready to go items. Never knew it existed but apparently it's been around a very long time. Love making new discoveries in this beautiful valley, one of our fav areas to decompress for a few days. Great people & gorgeous landscapes. read more

A good resource for the area -- good quality food options inside in a very small town. But if you're passing through Boonville, it's not exactly a "must-see" cute little shop. This is purely a functional, tiny health food store in what appears to be a formerly run-down house. Nothing wrong with that, but 2 stars is a resounding "Meh". Boont Berry Farm Store has already got my attention - they provide packaged vegan meals to Mariposa in Willits and to the Ukiah Natural Grocery Co-op - they BBQ tofu on brown rice is really really awesome - I have also enjoyed the coleslaw and several other dishes. If you can't get to Boonville, check out their packaged foods at natural grocery stores in the area. I'm looking forward to visiting their store in person! read more

Bad experience. Awful smoothie. Not even cold and it was small and $6!!! Also the blond lady who served us was as bitter as the smoothie she served! I won't be coming back. I used to come here just for the bbq tofu. The deli food didn't look at all fresh so we skipped out on it! Boont Berry catered our wedding in Hendy Woods, and they did an amazing job! We loved all of the many dishes, and so did all of our guests. They BBQ'ed fabulous tri-tip, and grilled pizza and veggies as well as providing an impressive array of appetizers, sides, and desserts. The spanikopita was especially delicious. Our guests also loved the caesar kale salad. They made wonderful cupcakes for dessert. We worked with Burt and he was relaxed and accommodating. It was an incredible deal - he charged us a price we could afford and it allowed us to give our families a real treat. read more

A great place to stop in for some healthy foods. In addition to locally grown produce and some basic grocery items, they also have a great little deli. There are a few tables, so you can eat here or get it to go. We had a yummy sandwich and a great slice of pizza. Thank goodness for Boont Berry! A homey, funky, adorable, inviting, and chip-off-the-old-block health food store, replete with wooden floors, beautiful hanging baskets form the ceiling, a friendly laid-back vibe, and that particular blend of aromas that are ever so enticing and might lead you to float through the door, as in a cartoon: spice-laden, with a hint of something, or many somethings, that are mouth wateringly-delicious cooking somewhere back there, that you know you want for lunch right now, even though you don't know what it is, and may not have had anything so delicious before. The main dishes that I long for when I'm far away: - The BAGELS! (these are for-real New York style bagels, made by a master, like you can't even get most places in SF. The onion bagels, and the chia - yes, chia - are fabulous. They're all fabulous, and made in the traditional style, boiled and then baked, not in some short cut steam machine) - Lemon tofu with mashed potatoes (hippie crack) - The Meatless Loaf (seriously cracktacular, but the recipe is a well-guarded secret. Taste it and you'll understand why!) - Chipotle corn and bean salad (best eaten with a fat pile of tortilla chips, or on top of a corn cake) - Oh yeah, THE CORN CAKES! - The CESAR SALAD! Holy crap. Big old spears of romaine lettuce, that you should eat with your hands, not with a knife and fork. Don't bother with that. Every restaurant/cafe in town makes one, and they're all really good, considering that there are a lot of mediocre cesar salads to be found (not here though). Tthis one is by far my favorite. It can even be made vegan, if you like, since the cheese is added on, not IN the dressing. - The desserts. Oh man. - Homemade ice cream, if you hit the day right. It's some of the best you'll ever try, certainly superior to most other locally made offerings in the county: Bourbon Vanilla, Cracked cardamom and Pinot pear (seriously fantastic), ultra chocolatey chocolate... - The 99 cent (organic!!!!) Avocados. Great selection of fresh organic, often local veggies, spices, pantry staples, beer, and wonderful local wines. And an excellent cheese case, as well as other sundries like chips, hot sauces, frozen novelties, and a wide selection of juices and sodas. If there's something you want or need but you don't see it on the shelves, ask at the counter and they probably have it back in the kitchen. It looks like a tiny operation from the front, but there's a whole big production kitchen in the back there, and they have just about everything you can think of. Places like this are sadly a dying breed, and I hope this place is around for several generations to come. This is a real slice of Boonville, and you're truly missing out if you pass it by, so drop on in! read more

This is a cute spot down the main (only) street in Boonville. I came in hoping for some vegan treats and liquid refreshments- and that is what I got. This store is very small but it has a simple assortment of different health and specialty foods. It looked like they also had some sort of little cafe on the side, and they had a menu of yummy fresh juices and smoothies behind the counter. I just wanted water or I would have tried some juice. After walking around I ended up with a vegan oat cookie (that appeared to be made there in the store) and a water bottle. I was tempted to buy some of their chocolate too, but I decided a cookie was enough. If you are driving through, peek inside for some snacks and to move your legs around. There is a gas station and drive in across the street. I asked to use the bathroom and they said it was broken but sent me across the street. Either way I got to go pee, so it worked out. read more
