During the entire 40 minutes I was in the store, the manager stood right next to the cashier constantly speaking into her radio. It was nonstop: "Do this," "Are you done?" "Go on lunch," "Handle that." It felt excessive and honestly uncomfortable to witness. The tone came across as micromanaging rather than supportive leadership. I genuinely felt bad for the employees. They all looked tense and miserable, and it created an awkward atmosphere while shopping. Every employee there is an adult and seemed fully capable of doing their jobs without being directed every few seconds over a radio. The only bright spot was Destiney, who helped us toward the end of our visit. She was friendly, motivated, and actually seemed happy to assist. Her positive attitude made a big difference and salvaged what was otherwise a stressful in-store experience. I hope management considers how their leadership style affects both employees and customers. A more supportive approach would go a long way. read more

Happy new year To whom it may concern I was fortunate to visit your store well stocked atmosphere was excellent however there was a little mishap my significant other and I had to use the restroom facility do to a medical condition and only two restrooms their was a very long line as we were waiting one of the employees came out of one of the restroom she closed the door behind her and said this is an employee restroom only knowing there was a very long line wait to use the restroom and another employee escorted a parent with special needs son to the line and told the parent here is the line she questioned is the other restroom open she told the parent no it's broken I told the parent it isn't broken it an employee restroom only the special need boy was cry that he had to use the restroom and I let her cut in line in front of me do to his needs. My significant other went to bring his concerns to the manager about the restroom arrangement and ask if they can unlock the other restroom because of the long wait she told him if he didn't want to wait to go down the street at a Denys restaurant to use there facilities My significant other was upset we are loyal customers and this is how you treat your customers. I should preface this by saying I hate negative reviews. My family & I live Boot Barn & have been customers for years with generally very good service. I just had a very negative experience today at the San Dimas store with their manager. I was shopping and had to use the bathroom REALLY bad, set my merchandise at the counter & went to use the restroom. An employee was waiting for one to open so I got in line. She politely told me the customer bathroom was closed & I could not use the employee bathroom. (There's only 2 all sex bathrooms right next to each other) I explained my desperate situation and asked if I could use it after her and she asked if I'd like to talk to the manager. While speaking to the manager she got very upset and flustered that I would even ask after being told no. The irony was she lectured me about how customers were breaking the toilet (not me) and that it was too inconvenient and dangerous for her employees to walk across the street to Denny's to use their bathroom. In the same breath she suggested I go to Denny's (my inconvenience & safety were not important). I've worked retail sales and understand the challenges. Went here for my daughter to get some western wear and a pair of boots Was greeted by Brianna . She was so pleasant and took amazing care of my daughter. Such a great person. I had two hours to buy a pair of boots (I could not locate my only pair) in prep for the Western themed Father/Daughter dance at my daughter's high school. As a first time customer, I was immediately blown away at how large this store is and how well organized everything appears to be the minute you walk in. Within three seconds of stepping foot inside, I was welcomed by a young female employee folding shirts near the front entrance. This store offers EVERYTHING western themed except for the horses but I didn't check out back so who knows? Boots, shoes, jackets, sweaters, t-shirts, wallets, belts etc.. you get the idea. Everything is clearly marked and the variety of items offered is extensive. Customer service was OUTSTANDING!! Every employee was very friendly, helpful and professional. First and last time ever at this location! If I could give 0 stars I would! Went into the San Dimas Boot Barn with my family to Christmas shop and our experience was horrible! My mother an elderly woman asked an associate by the name Diana if she could use their restroom, and in such a rude tone she was told "it's out of service". After a few minutes another customer asked for the restroom and she was let in. When it came to checking out the cashier Kirsten gave the worst service of them all. Not only was she not friendly. Not greeted. She responded to us, paying customers in a condescending tone. The way she tossed our paid merchandise in a bag was rude. She rolled her eyes when we asked if the boots didn't come with a box, since we had just purchase two pairs. Horrible customer service! Poor representation of the company! Awful experience to say the least. I went in to this location to purchase my very first pair of boots, which I was very excited about. I looked around for about 30 mins in which no employee approached us for assistance. First thought was everyone is probably busy assisting other customers, which wasn't the case because there was only about 3 customers in store. Found the perfect pair of boots which I walked over to the counter to get checked out.. I've never purchased boots so I wasn't sure if they came in their own box. I went on to ask the employee (Jasmine) ringing me up if my boots came with a box? She went on to state that Boot Barn locations don't include boxes with boot purchases which I found a bit strange. We peaked a few empty boxes behind the counter which obviously belonged to other boots and asked if we could have one of those to store the boots? She continued to say the boots wouldn't fit without trying to fit them in there and asked if I wanted to purchase a paper bag lol couldn't even apologize for the inconvenience of not getting a box with my purchase. Young man wearing a light blue wrangler shirt said they could not let me go into the fitting room as they were closing in "10" minutes. I asked what time they were closing, he said 7pm. Ok so first of all , I work in a retail type of environment, I get it, it can be a lot . This used to be my go to location but after today I'm good on this one . Walked in and immediately was helped by a sweet lady with blonde hair (I would have left one star if it wasn't for her ) anyway, I was looking for a pair of boots which we found no issue, and then the lady passed me off to another associate i think her name was Jackie . I went to try them on but forgot that boots can sometimes be tough to take off (first pair in years) she recommended I use a boot jack but i still slightly struggled and she offered her help which i appreciate but i needed to learn for myself and i politely told her "i really appreciate your help, but i got this " " she just looked at me all weird and laughed at me walking away and i honestly felt embarrassed and almost didn't buy the boots but brushed it off and once i got to the reg the lady with black hair (who i believe is the manager or lead ) had the worst attitude and didn't confirm my name or anything for the membership and didn't even ask if anyone helped me or how my day was , just was silent . I went to go pay and I'll admit i did have more ones in the cash I payed with and I should have gotten them exchanged for bigger bills but either way it shouldn't have been a big issue. After I handed her the cash neatly organized and stacked , she rolled her eyes and had to get another employee to count the cash. Recently went to visit the new location which is about huge upgrade to the previous store location. It's organized and fully stocked. Needed to purchase some new boots for a rodeo my boyfriend would be participating in. Found the perfect pair but not in my size. They offered me great service with ordering online. My biggest issue with this new store is employees do not allow you to shop comfortably. They'll follow you and watch you as if you were stealing. Which is ridiculous with that experience I still spent $300. One employee that stood out to me was Ana. She was a breath of fresh air when the environment felt hostile. I mentioned things I was in search of and she had great product knowledge. I couldn't find the style of hat I was looking for but she quickly knew what my references were. Time is money, fuel costs money, and to go to the physical store and see such a gimmicky selection was beyond belief. This store is bulging with regular priced inventory to the point of overstock. Sell it! I don't know who directs the sales merchandise, store or corporate, but things need to change. Some of the merchandise merely had the retail price circled in red marker, which demoted that it was part of the buy 2 get one free sale. Assistant Manager ANA WAS BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL WORST STORE EVER, UNTRAINED STAFF, CUSTOMER SERVID TERRIBLE! Do not come here and speak your hard earned money ! Came here after a purchase of some boots and some maintenance equipment ANA had recommended me. The stuff she told me to use completely ruined my boots! (Mind you I had no knowledge so I completely trusted her) when I came to the store to show them what happened and see what I could do to revive the material(not to argue or get some discount or return) I just wanted to understand what went wrong. ANA became extremely hostile and confrontational towards me started blaming me and calming me a lair saying I put something else in there when all I used on my boots was what she recommended me. She's such a bad look to this company. I was nothing but calmed and collected and all she did was make me feel like I was at fault I was a bother. Please avoid people like Ana she's a terrible contribution to any company. And to make it worst cherry on the top then the owner came over and did exactly the same they started teaming up on me and watching their own interest because at the end of the day they don't care about my 200 dollars I spend there so they will make me look like I was at fault and turn it against me to protect their own interests. I used to buy boots from this place for many years. Then one day for the women they stopped carrying the women's boots in like a size c which is the average width or wide width for like the name brands Ariat. Most women do not have narrow feet. The new store is much larger, however they did not change their ordering practice and saddened that they don't carry the other width sizes. Please note most people are not a size b width. You're missing so many opportunities in sales by not carrying different widths. I would like to try on boots to make sure fit before making a purchase. As brands fit different it would be nice to have choice vs trying to put on a size larger to compensate. read more

I had a frustrating experience in a store today. I ordered a pair of boots online and they came to me in a box brand new, but I needed a different size. I was unable to exchange them, and had to return them, wait for the refund, and then buy another pair. I ordered them online again, and ordered ship to store. When I got to the store, I received boots that were covered in scuff marks, the bottom of the boots were dirty, and they were covered in creases. Even though I selected ship to store, I received used boots on the wall. I requested new boots from the factory, and received old boots from the wall. I asked if I could order new boots again, and they said nothing is guaranteed with Boot Barn. They were nice enough to condition the boots, and clean off the scuff marks the best they could but when spending $230 on boots, this was not the greatest experience. I feel like I got used boots with no guarantee I would receive new ones even if I reordered again. If you're looking for new boots, but aren't sure about sizing. I would recommend using Boot Barn as a company to try on boots. For purchases, order the boots directly from the manufacture. Because as the associate stated, "There's no guarantee you will receive new boots with Boot Barn." read more
