This is one of the worst nightclubs I have ever been to…read more There was a pretty popular DJ playing here that I was ecstatic to see, so I bought tickets in advance to go see them. It was also one of the official afterparties for Breakaway Mass. The ticket I purchased was also for "floor standing" btw. Little did I know that the "floor" I was expecting to be on when I purchased my ticket online was actually the entire vip area that was barricaded. So the actual dance floor where the DJ is, is ridiculously far from common areas that it just made it hard to enjoy. If that's how it was going to be, AT LEAST PUT THAT SOMEWHERE???? I never would have gone and wasted my time in the first place!! Extremely misleading. At least it was only $25. If you weren't in VIP, you had to be above the stairs next to the bar area and the sofas where there's even less space! Additionally, the crowd here is weak and rude. The workers seemed rude too. Everybody, including those on the dance floor were just standing and going on their phones, not a single person dancing. You needed a wristband to go down to the vip area, and I also noticed only a certain type of person was getting wristbands to go down there *cough cough* ANYWAYS, this was my first impression of Boston nightlife and it was clearly not a good one. At least this subpar experience was good for one thing: it's made me realize how ever-so grateful I am to be a socal resident where nightlife is much better and I will never take it for granted again so thank you :)

And if you like pina coladas and getting mocked in the face…read more Or however that song goes! Back in August me and my friends went out for a girls night only for the bartender to ruin it. I had drank my drink and thought the alcohol was a little low and asked if she could remake it. Instead of gently declining she said all the staff are required to pour a certain amount of liquor per drink and out of curiosity I asked what that amount was. She took it for attitude and asked "why, are you a bartender"... She then asked who made my drink and I pointed at a bartender on the other end then she took a stray pen and THREW IT at another bartender's head then ushered for them to come over. The bartender started whispering in their coworkers ear and for a good five minutes they stared at me, giggling, not acknowledging my request and mocked me as if we're back in high school... Later in the night my friend orders a round of shots and that same bartender who made it gave her attitude as well. The Grand, if you're going to hire High School staff, at this point just invite teenagers then. Never coming back, if you enjoy getting packed like sardines, smelling ball sweat and weed, and listening to cardiac arrest EDM beats. Well then, be their guest.

I don't think it's a thing, maybe we got lucky. But Monday Night Karaoke is a thing here. Here was…read moreour experience on around 9pm. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking. It can be pretty tough finding something so good luck. Seating: It's 3 floors of vibes (depending on the day) but this is no hidden gem, if you're looking for a local vibe, check this place out. Vibes: The nice touristy side of Boston, walking distance to a few scenic things. As for the spot, think Irish bar meets full-on nightlife energy. One floor might have karaoke, another has DJs, and another is just people vibing with drinks. It's lively, a little chaotic (in a fun way), and definitely a younger crowd energy. FOOD/DRINKS: Drinks are solid and pretty affordable for Boston, which is always a win. They've got everything from beers and seltzers to margaritas and cocktails. This isn't a craft cocktail lounge--it's more of a "grab a drink and keep the night going" type of place. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! I needed water and they provided it, no problem! TL; DR OVERALL: 5 Stars. I didn't expect to have so much fun on a Monday night (the singing, the crowd participation, the dancing). What. A. Vibe. Maybe I got lucky but I hope you get this experience when you stop by.Fun, high-energy, and perfect for a night out with friends. Not the place for a quiet drink--but if you're trying to turn up a little and keep things moving, this is a solid stop in Boston. TIPS: *They seem to have something going on every night so check their website!

I thought the drinks were just alright as well (and off cocktail menu were definetly expensive, $20 for a cosmo for example). Our server/turned night bottle girl was a highlight - so sweet, fast, gave recommendations, and even some complimentary shots to end the night! The staff was sweet and encouraged us to stay for night life with no cover and also free cost check. When it turned into a club the music was decent but it took a while for it to get lively on a Friday night but appreciated it not being too overcrowded.

I enjoyed the music and the dark vampiresque vibe. Our waitress was very nice and made it a point to visit our table as much as she could. Fair warning for those with bigger appetites to get food elsewhere first as prices are high and portions are small. Between three people we ordered 6 dishes and were still hungry. We tried their calamari, pork empanadas, Snow crab corn arepas, chorizo pizza as well as their chicken pizza. Did I mention the plates were small? Food quality was a step above bar food but not by much. In the future, I would be entirely satisfied with just getting their XL pitchers. Although $150 each, you definitely get more bang for your buck as opposed to ordering a bunch of individual drinks. We got the mango margarita which was tasty and not overly sweet. When it came to turning into the club, they slowly start putting up the velvet dividers and kindly informed us it was 30 mins before ending the dinning in. The music quickly turned into dated and dry music that we didn't end up staying much longer past. Overall, we had a good time and would plan to stick it through the awkward transition into the club phase.
