    My non-Caucasian friends wristband...

Racism exists here: This place is highly racist. There was over 15 people with us. Mostly caucasians, there was at least a few of us were mix. My colored friends was not allowed to go in downstairs , after being upstairs with a wristband. Majority of the staff were aware and were also confused on WHY we couldn't go in. It was obvious. It was because the people I was with was black/Mix. Mind you the rest of my caucasians friends have been checked to go in and my non white friends had to stay back..They kicked them out just like that.. No reason, no explanation, just a bunch of ignorant people. They didn't cause any problems or even come off violent. Just be aware.. going here.. they roofie people, security's aren't as helpful or innocent as they look, the drinks are usually watered down, men beat women here ,people steal other peoples tips, cockroaches running across the tables , staffs losing credit cards, miserable staffs , the list goes on. Worst experience ever. You are probably better off going somewhere else. This place needs to be reevaluated by the state, it's unacceptable to run this type of operation at this point .

Not the best shot, but here's a pic of part of the stage with one of their singers performing

Went a few weeks ago with my friend to this bar after dinner and it was super fun! We sat at the bar and listened to their live band perform, which was so good!! We were extremely impressed by their entertainment and loved the songs they sang. We had a few drinks at the bar and were lucky that the hotel we were staying at was only a 5 minute walk from there. Super cute bar and we wanted to check out their club downstairs, but we decided not to because the bouncer wouldn't let us go in through a certain entrance as we were exiting the main bar and didn't want to walk around in the cold finding the other entrance or having to show them our IDs and vaccine cards again. Besides that, I had a nice time there and I'd definitely return!

We went here on a less busy night, so I can't really speak to the vibes on a Friday/Saturday. However, there was live music that was pretty good, and they were playing a lot of hits. We were dancing and having a good time! Also the bucket was a great price! Came out to only about $20 with tax and tip for a 32 oz. And it tasted super good !! Would love to come back here on a busier night to see what it's like!

Ask the Community - Howl at the Moon Boston

    Is this 18+?

    No, it's 21+

Is there a cover on Friday nights? If so, how much?

The cover is $5 on Thursdays and $10 on Friday and Saturdays not including holidays and/or special events.

Does Howl at the Moon serve food? If so, what kind and are there menus available? Couldn't find any on the website besides drinks and cocktails.

I got invited to a party there and they had wings, spring rolls, and macaroni and cheese balls. But this was before 8pm

Is there a dance floor? Some reviews mention a dance club on the lower level.

Hi Darby! We have Down Boston in the lower level, complete with a dance floor. Hope to see you soon!

Is there free cover for girls on Saturday's?

There is usually a cover after 10pm. However, many times if you submit your email they give you a "happy hour" where you and your friends can enjoy free food and no cover if you arrive with your party before 10pm

Ribs perfect, glad they were meaty pieces and not scrawny bones. Entrees: (and yes I tried all!) I am a steak fiend and was expecting more from the pallet but it was just eh OK. Salmon was dry and bland wish it was paired with a sauce and side dish but it was a big portion of just rice and fish. The BEST dish was the creole pasta and the two piece. I was not expecting that two piece to be the entire fowl! It was huge and tasty, not dry, biscuit was sweet and moist ! But the entrees are a good portion ! Ambience: Chic music lounge. Atmosphere is nice. It's a small/tight place, the pictures make it look bigger. We were a party of 6, sat at a booth. So some will have their back towards the stage but there's a tv screen of live view. Service: waitress was nice/attentive until it got later. Then it was harder to get someone to our table. the place turned more into a full lounge. Singer/band: perfect Drinks- kudos to the bar tenders: just right! Mixed well! Gratuity and an entertainment fee are included in the bill. Would I go back- YES

After our night out, we all had mixed feelings about our experience. The interior is beautiful. It's classy and fun setting the scene for a nice vibe. service was nice but slow, we needed to flag down our waiter a couple times so we could order food. Some of the things we ordered were the fried catfish nuggets, braised oxtails, Mac and cheese and steak frites. Fried catfish bites were okay, the oxtail dish was tender but too sweet, Mac and cheese was standard and the steak was dry. I never mind paying top dollar for amazing dishes but these weren't it for us. Drinks were good though and the music was great. I'd suggest coming just to listen to a great live band and a nightcap.

Nice set up as u make your way up, once inside it opens up to a pretty large space. They have a few bars around which made it relatively easy to get drinks. Tito's & seltzer & Gin & Ginger ale were our drinks for the night, decent for the night. Once DJ Pauly D hit the stage the place had a crazy fun vibe, if u watched the Jersey Shore show u can appreciate it but even if u never watched I must say it was a fun, energetic show & the music was good overall. Good sound system, lights & depending where u were standing decent amount of space to Dance the night away, we had a good night!

It was also one of the official afterparties for Breakaway Mass. The ticket I purchased was also for "floor standing" btw. Little did I know that the "floor" I was expecting to be on when I purchased my ticket online was actually the entire vip area that was barricaded. So the actual dance floor where the DJ is, is ridiculously far from common areas that it just made it hard to enjoy. If that's how it was going to be, AT LEAST PUT THAT SOMEWHERE???? I never would have gone and wasted my time in the first place!! Extremely misleading. At least it was only $25. If you weren't in VIP, you had to be above the stairs next to the bar area and the sofas where there's even less space! Additionally, the crowd here is weak and rude. The workers seemed rude too. Everybody, including those on the dance floor were just standing and going on their phones, not a single person dancing. You needed a wristband to go down to the vip area, and I also noticed only a certain type of person was getting wristbands to go down there *cough cough* ANYWAYS, this was my first impression of Boston nightlife and it was clearly not a good one. At least this subpar experience was good for one thing: it's made me realize how ever-so grateful I am to be a socal resident where nightlife is much better and I will never take it for granted again so thank you :)

The crowd was crazy into the Deer Tick set, but I fell in love with Aunt Martha that evening - a great lineup choice by the outdoor boat venue, giving voice to a talented, much lesser-known New England act. The sound quality wasn't bad for being pitched around in the wind, there was ample space to move even though it was a sold out show, and while you still spent too much money on plastic cup drinks, good music on a boat sailing around the Boston Harbor made it worth it. I'll definitely be scouring the lineup again this year for good shows - if you can't get on board with a summer concert cruise I'm pretty sure you're a freedom-hating terrorist, and you and I should not be friends. From the green 'grass' to the swings to the greenery and the lighting and the huge stage with an awesome sound system - really great! We went here for live band karaoke with our favorite band called Five Minutes of Fame - they're playing every Thursday night from 7-10 pm. So if you're into singing with a live band go on over and live out your rockstar dreams! They had the food truck called The Grove which I think has a very limiting menu - in terms of healthy and tasty - which is my requirement. I got the grove salad with chicken and it was just ok - nothing to write home about. The hubs had the BLT sandwich which he liked but also found it quite greasy. There are restrooms which are these portable ones in these trailers and they're very nice and clean but the individual ones on the opposite end of the stage was very smelly. The ones behind the stage were better. Running water, flush everything- like a proper restroom. So that is good. We got parking through SpotHero at a nearby parking lot - it was $26 but we didn't want to take chance looking around for parking that is why. But our friends said they found street parking so it's possible to find free parking too. Overall we had a great time, the weather was perfect beautiful summer evening - and great music! We'll be back for more live band karaoke!
