A random night out exploring brought us to Boots Steakhouse. It was a comfortable temperature out but looked like it could rain at a moments notice so we elected to eat indoors. Which is such a shame because the outside looked so nice and inviting with a fire pit and live music happening. Next time, I will definitely try to eat out there. Inside was definitely old school style with wooden panels covering the walls and dim lighting. Bradley was our server and was a true delight. He was friendly and passionate about the food they were serving and always attentive. I ordered the trout (am I crazy? definitely should have ordered steak) with asparagus and was very pleased I immediately had regret though when I tried my boyfriends steak. It was so delectable. Cooked to perfection with awesome flavor. Rarely do I order steak, but next time I go to Boots, you better believe I will. The mashed potatoes were great too. Prices seemed really great for the level of quality and service we had! We split a bottle of wine which was in the lower $20 range and even made room for dessert. Good thing we did because it was red velvet cheesecake. Insanely good! I love getting out of Asheville some nights and finding great treats like Boots. Will be over here again soon. read more

This place is amazing! My daughter found it on yelp and we went because of the 5 star review. We did call ahead for a reservation which you will need to do. We ordered the potato soup, steak, collard cheese dip and salad. Everything but the salad was five star. Delicious. I just don't like field greens and there were hardly any veggies, but the ranch was amazing. We will be back for sure! The owner personally came to check on our experience and was so friendly. We were visiting the area from Atlanta and had a taste for steak for dinner. After scouring yelp, we didn't initially find anything worthwhile in the area, until we found Boots. I am beyond happy that we did find it, though. I have to say that the ribeye I had was better than I have ever had before, including restaurants that would charge double for the same quality. The owner, Colleen, even stopped by our table to make sure that we were enjoying our meal; we really appreciated that personal attention. I would say this is a do not miss dinner location. read more

What an amazing place to eat. I thought I could only get good ribeye at home. This place proved me wrong. The steak was so tender and cooked to perfection. My husband and I were visiting from Florida and celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. A family member recommended this restaurant. We went on Sunday, October 31st and we arrived early (4:30pm) as we heard that they do recommend reservations and they fill up fast. The weather could not have been more perfect but it was a bit chilly for some in the shade. The owner sat us. She asked us if we wanted to sit inside or out. We were indecisive so she showed us a beautiful table outside partially in the sun. She told us if we got cold she would seat us inside. Our server, Destiny, quickly arrived to take our drink order. I ordered the French Martini which was devine. My husband opted for water. We ordered crab cakes for an appetizer and they came out shortly after our drinks. They were very very good. We then ordered our dinner. I ordered the surf n turf which included a 6oz filet and a lobster tail with a choice of one side and a salad. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. Everything was absolutely incredible. The filet melted in my mouth. My husband chose the pecan crusted trout with rice pilaf and green beans. He said they were all fantastic. They surprised us with a slice of cake for our anniversary, on the house. Our waitress was on point!! She was the best. She was always there when we needed something but didn't bug us throughout our time there, if that makes sense. We have found our favorite restaurant in Dillsboro/Sylva and will definitely be back next year. I gave this restaurant 5 stars because there wasn't anything they could have done differently that would have made it better. It was simply perfect. read more

The. Worst. Ever!!! We were so disappointed with the entire dining experience. It was our friends 91st birthday, and after hearing such good things about our past visits, she wanted to celebrate it at Boots. First, we had a 6:30p reservation and did not finish dinner service until 9:30p. That alone rates 1 star. Second, salads weren't served for an hour, and the dinner plates came an hour after that. The steaks were not cooked as ordered and were cold. The baked potatoes were cold as well...wouldn't even melt butter. The steaks were sent back and were returned reheated somewhat. Need I say more? The poor waitress couldn't have been more apologetic and embarrassed. This was not her fault. The owner never came to the table to explain or apologize. She did comp a couple of the steaks. First, let me say you need reservations on a weekend. But the host knowing we were from out of town and didn't know sat us at a table. It was small and no umbrella outside, but the weather was good. The food at Boots Steakhouse was very good. The wait staff was excellent. The hostess was extremely rude. We had reservations for 7:30 and arrived on time. Our dinner was a little slow coming from the kitchen and then before 8:30, the hostess came to our table and told us she was going to 'need our table soon'. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks or dessert. The wait staff had obviously been pushed to bring us our bill. I have never experienced such rudeness and been rushed out of a restaurant so quickly ever. I will not return. There are too many other restaurants in the area that offer good food and are also welcoming and pleasant to dine in. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Dillsboro. We ate at the bar and got fantastic service. You also get to watch three football games at the same time! The food is consistently good, as we have eaten there several times before. It has a great country atmosphere, with extensive outdoor seating with a firepit. We had the filet mignon with baked potato, onion soup, and it came with fresh bread. The onion soup is EXCELLENT. I order that every time I visit. You get a great cut of meat and a huge baked potato. Absolutely delightful meal. When you looking for a good out-of-the-way steakhouse, it's a great place to eat. It's just a nine iron south of Sylva, and worth the trip! read more

The ambiance is charming, they have cozy indoor seating and a beautiful garden terrace with a fountain. The food was good, but two of us ordered steaks and they were a bit over cooked. Don't arrive before your reservation time. What really bothered me is that we arrived 21 min prior to our reservation and was told we had to wait until exactly our reservation time to be seated. At the time, there were 5 tables available outside and two tables available inside - and we told the hostess we would take either. Our reservation time arrived and then we continued to wait an additional 5 minutes at which point we asked the hostess when we would be seated. She told us that we needed to wait a few more minutes. At this point, there were even more tables available outside and we had to adamantly ask the hostess to seat us there. To wrap up our experience, our waitress seemed to have forgotten us when it started to drizzle. We were the only guests remaining on the terrace and waited about 20 min in the rain for the waitress to reappear. read more
