As part of a Salmonberry Tour, we had the opportunity to ride a tram to the top of the mountain at the Alyeska Resort. At the top of the mountain is Bore Tide Bar. After the strenuous () ride up on the tram, we had NO better choice than to sit outside at the bar and enjoy 2 ice cold beers ($9 each.) The Mother Ale was smooth and lite! The Denali Engine, a red beer, had a malty taste. My husband said it was good but he wouldn't rush out and buy a 6 pack ‍.) Having the ability to sit outside at a mountaintop bar was quite spectacular but we also were able to take our plastic cups of beer with us to walk the trails or tour the mountain side, if we so chose. The two of us didn't go far, as we only had an hour up there due to being in a group tour. We did see many people walking and running the trails, tho! If I had to point out a negative, it would be the flys/mosquitoes! They were well represented amid all the humans!! read more

This is for the bar side of the Bore Tide. You aren't going to find a better view - it's a bar on top of a mountain! Sit on the stools looking out and enjoy. Walk up to the bar to order. The bartender makes very good drinks - we had an espresso martini and a margarita. They let you order food from the deli too - the food is probably 3+ stars, but what you would expect from a deli. But the food is simultaneously overpriced and very mediocre. I recommend eating down in Girdwood instead, or bringing a lunch to eat outside. Why still 4-stars? Overall, I enjoyed my visit at Bore Tide and Bar. We purchased the Tram ticket deal that also gives you a $20 credit to use in the deli. I highly recommend doing the same to get the best bang for your buck. When my friends and I arrived, they were out of a few options that we wanted. The place had very minimal customers when we arrived, yet the wait was much longer than expected. The food was pretty good overall! I would definitely revisit! read more

For fast convenience Bore Tide and Bar treated us well! My group took the tram up and wanted a quick bite to hold us over until dinner. I admit I initially wasn't thrilled with the super high barstools - at least they're high if you're short - but quickly became comfortable once situated. I enjoyed the ambiance and loved the view. The food was okay, but again it's fast convenience so I wasn't expecting anything other than okay. The service was surprising because I expected disinterest to find very invested and kind employees. One of the items we ordered was out of stock and when the error was discovered they quickly addressed it and had some fast suggestions. I liked that they had suggestions. I won't go into the food details too much because their menu rotates. What may be here when I was there may not be there when you go. The drinks were marvelous. I ordered the margarita again expecting average to find it was glorious. It was smooth, well balanced, and easy to drink. Everyone was happy with their drinks. The drink menu seems to be in a solid state, the menu rarely changing except for a couple seasonal items. I was pleased! read more

If you want to eat on the top of Mount Alyeska, this is the only show in town. It has a bar area with seating and a medium sized dinning area with a spectacular view looking down the mountain. There is also some picnics tables on the little walkway right outside of the restaurant, near the bathrooms. The deli has fruit cups, chili, pulled pork, Reubens, chicken tenders and black bean burgers. The bar is small and is a full service bar with a few signature cocktails. Being that there is no completion at the top of the mountain, they can afford to be overpriced. I ordered the tuna melt, which came with a side of fries. It took about 25 minutes for me to get my food. It was ok. It would do. But it was not as tasty as I would have expected. I also got an Alpenglow drink (one of the girliest drinks they have) and a drink called the Fizz, out of curiosity. They sell it from a bar in the corner. It was an ok drink. Had a heavy nutmeg taste. A little over rated if you ask me though. The Alpenglow was pretty good. Very savory. Eating here is the thing to do if you are on top of the mountain. But the service is slow and the food is not great. The drinks are decent, but that and the food are way overpriced. Like this joint or not, with no competition in sight, they are here to stay. If you are hungry and did not bring any snacks this is all you got. On a positive note, as I mentioned, they do have awesome views though. read more

Horrible!! Horrible!!! Horrible service!! If I can give a negative star, I would!!! If you want to come up this mountain, Just come up here to see the view but not the restaurant or bar!! The food is horrible and you had to wait over an hour for a simple corn dog (which they ran out while waiting) and chicken strips!! They are the opposite of friendly. While we waited for our food, I pulled out some snacks (chips) I had in my purse and we got yelled at by the bartender! let me repeat.. YELLED not told that there is no "outside food"!! And mind you, have of my party was having a drink they purchased there! So since we were rudely yelled at I started putting my chips back in my bag, the bartender came right back and grabbed the small basket with the chips I had poured and yelled, " do you think I'm kidding! I'm serious! No outside food!" So that's when we finally put him in his place.. we said, "don't speak to us as if we are children! We are putting the chips away! And maybe if you didn't take an hour to bring food, this would not be a problem! "" When we purchased the Tram tickets to come up the mountain, we were in encouraged to buy the food voucher with the tram. It's no wonder there was a discount with it, they already knew the service was bad. And if you don't use the full amount of the voucher you lose your money! First they run out of the food I want, then they say we have to wait over an hour for the finger foods we ordered, then they yell at us because we are eating our chips as we wait for them to make our food?!!! You can't make this S$iT up! First time in Alaska and this experience has ruined my day today! And what's worse is the food was gross!!!! I can't wait to make a formal complaint to management and the owner! The rude bartenders name is Kyle! (Not to mention the woman who took our order was extremely unfriendly! This place is in desperate need of customer service training! People are coming from all over the world to visit here! It's sad that that's how they want to be remembered. The sandwiches were pretty good. The fries were mediocre, reminded me of middle school cafeteria. The service wasn't bad for a casual deli style restaurant that is located on the side of a mountain. It's the only casual dining option when you're up on the slopes, so it's a really special experience for that reason alone. If you're not here for skiing or snowboarding, getting to Bore Tide requires you to take the tram (48$) or hike up in the summer. read more

Cafeteria style, cooked to order set up in the deli. Priced about $18 per sandwich/fries. Simple menu. Wait time was about 20 min once we placed our orders which gave us enough time to enjoy the view. We ordered fish/chips, Reuben/fries, french dip/fries and cubano/fries. The silence at the table was testimony to our liking. My personal perspective is the cubano, no complaints here, good meat/bun ratio, nicely toasted in a press, fries hot and crispy lightly seasoned. Overall if you are in the area and going to ride the tram to the top of the mountain for the breathtaking view it's worth the extra $ to pick up the ride/dine combo ticket. They offer military discount but only for that rider. In summary food is good, service isn't noteworthy but not bad by any means. View of Turnagain Arm is breathtaking but unfortunately unless you are already planning on riding the tram just taking the tram to the top for a sandwich isn't really very good value. read more

Bore Tide Deli Cafe is at the top of Mt. Alyeska with a great view. It is place many skiing vacation people take a sip of coffee with food to enjoy the view. This deli located just on the right of the Tramway. The cafe is connected to the view platform and interior dining hall. It is walk up cafe and order what you want. They have daily special menu. The day we have visited, they have the bison burger in the special. It come with two sliders, pickle, and chip. The burger top with their special sweet sauce with caramel onion. Very delicious. We also got their salmon chowder, chili dog, and roast beef sandwich. They are decent at the mountain. Food did not take long to wait. They will call you number and pick up at the window. We heard from fellow travelers that the Rueben sandwich at the Bore Tide Deli was great. I will tell you this much - the Rueben sandwich is good here, but I wouldn't say that it rises to the level of greatness. This being said, the view from the Bore Tide Deli is beyond great - it's amazingly and superbly awesome! The seven glaciers are right in front of you! In my experience, it was the view rather than the food that made the Bore Tide Deli a great place to visit. We can't wait to be back! read more

It is what it is if you want to get a good view and can't hike a mountain to get there. Use to frequent this place more when the tram was more reasonable but lately it seems like the resort is trying to keep Anchorage residents out by making everything ridiculously expensive. $48 for a tram ticket to the bar is not only obscene but asinine. One could say one is paying for the view but this is in Alaska, on the Turnagain Arm, where spectacular views are a dime a dozen not $50 for one. The bar itself is precisely what one would expect from a ski lodge, nothing fancy, a bit rowdy, and tragically overpriced. How anyone can sleep soundly at night when charging such an absurd price for what amounts to a something less exciting than a child's roller coaster at a county fair is beyond any human reason. I do not know who made the decision to charge such a exorbitant amount for a mode of transport which doesn't have the human decent to at least add heat to the car, but whoever it is let me offer one small suggestion: There are plenty of priests in nearby Anchorage who would be glad to hear what is no doubt a very long overdue confession. read more

With this being on top of the Alyeska Tram, the views are absolutely stunning. It is high on mountaintop next to a wonderful gift shop and hiking trails. The food is very good. I had the chicken tenders with fries (5/5) and the rueben sandwich (5/5)! Due to covid you have to order at the bar right now but there is plenty of seating with great views! read more
