Took the tram up from Alyeska Resort and saw great views and had lunch at this restaurant. You walk up to order your food, then they call your number. The Ruben and French dip were good. The service was pretty quick, although it was not too busy today. They also have a bar inside. The best part was the view from the restaurant. Amazing views of mountains and glaciers! read more

This place is a great bar on top of the ski mountain at the Alyeska Resort. The bar tender was such a sweet guy. He told us all about the drink menu, food menu and town. He makes great Bloody Mary's. The price is high, you have to either take the tram up for $30 or hike up a 2.4 2000 elevation hike to get there. We took the free hike up, and free tram ride down. We enjoyed sitting in the restaurant over looking the beauty of Girdwood. I would recommend having a drink and taking in the views! read more

This is a restaurant picked because of location and convenience not looking for great food. The view at the top is great as you would expect. This is a cafeteria type business where you stand in line to order your food and then go back up to pick it up. It took about 10 min for our order to be prepared. There is no table service. The portions are large. The fries are great. The view amazing. read more

The food, however, was just okay - I was expecting the food to have more flavor than it did (however, the bison sliders were good!). So you're at Aleyska. You know you want to ride the tram and see the amazing view at the top. The view is stunning, but the Bore Tide Deli makes the price of the tram ticket worth it. Pricing: Yeah you have to pay to ride the tram. And yes, the pricing in the deli is a little bit higher than what you would expect. But keep in mind someone has to haul that food up there, and you're up on the top of a mountain. So adjust your pricing expectations accordingly. Food: With all the hungry skiers around this deli doesn't skimp on quality as they serve Boars Head deli products. From hot and cold sandwiches to soup to coffee, they have a pretty nice selection of items to choose from. Service: A little slow, but then again this place is busy and you're most likely staring out the windows anyway so just chill out, take your time and remember where you are. It can be a little busy at times so you might have to wait for a table. But again, if you start to get impatient just look outside. What were you grumbling about again? 4 Stars. The best (and only) food at the top of the tram. So, it's the only food up there, and if you try to eat there just after getting off the tram at lunchtime, you're gonna wait a bit. That said, the food is decent. Definitely pick up one of the home-made 7-layer bars or other good add-ons at the beginning of the line. Skip the pork sandwich, it's the smallest thing up there. Fish n chips was good, as was the turkey sandwich. If you come up the tram, be sure to spend the $9 when you buy your ticket to get $20 for food at the restaurant. The selection up here isn't great - but you can hardly disagree with the quality of the food and the customer service. If you're looking for fine dining, the Seven Glaciers restaurant is nextdoor but only open for dinner and I believe also only on weekends. I ordered one of the daily specials, the fish po'boy. At first I wasn't sure what to expect with the brightly colored pepper slaw, but after my first bite I was hooked. The fish was a breaded cod but it wasn't fishy tasting or smelling. The sweet slaw provided a nice contrast to the fish. I also ordered the seafood chowder, which I could not finish because the po'boy was filling! It was a delicious chowder, and I would highly recommend it! Oh yeah, and you can't find a better view for lunch! read more

We hiked up to the top of the tram 2.2 miles to save $30 if you are in decent shape takes just over an hour to get up to the top. We sat in the bar area that has servers right along the window looking out towards the bay it was magical. Ordered a beer, and buffalo sliders that came with a lot of french fries make sure you specify fries otherwise you end up getting a bag of chips I'm pretty sure. The best part is after you walk all the way up you get a free tram ride down. Highly recommend the 2.5 hour visit to hike, eat, and tram back down its a great experience. read more

The bathrooms are not great, the music is sappy and pretty horrible, and too many tourists don't watch their obnoxious kids. However, help is really friendly and the view is worth it. One star because I can't give negative stars. This the deli at the top of the tram. It is an organizational nightmare. The flow is wrong. Order at the till at the end of the line. Then wait for food # to be called. The have sandwiches grilled things and fried things. All I ordered was fries. That's it. I was intending to eat them with a bowl of chili. When I got the chili. I asked if I could order my fries from the soup and chili guy. But I had to go to the register to order. I got a number Why bottleneck all orders at the register. It took 45 mins to get fries. Just fries. One of the guys who ordered before me got his food after me and it was wrong he had to wait longer. Over 1:30 for him. He was not pleased. When I asked the check out girl. She was apologetic. But a slammed kitchen with 30 orders. Is not working hard enough. It is unorganized It is a travesty Fresh sandwiches are nice. But waiting 45 to an hour is a BIG turn off !!!!!!! First time I tried this place my sandwich was delicious, however the next time I had it, the bread was really hard but the chowder was REALLY good and worth the trip! I'd give it another chance. If my next experience is as good as my first I'd definitely give five stars! read more
