Horrible Experance, would not recomend taking your vehicle here for repair. I took my F150 Truck in for repairs work with Jeremy at the service counter. They diagnosed and repired my truck I paid the invoice drove out off the lot and the very next day the truck had the same issues, I called left 3 messages befor Jeremy would call back. Told him what happened brought my truck back in they re diagnosaed it told me more work had to be done I agreed . Told me it was completed paid the bill, (almost $3000.00) between the two invoices. Picked up my truck, when I started the truck I noticed the remote starter didnt work, I went back into the service deptment talked with Jeremy, he promised to look o the used poart they had installed and would call me back when they could swap out the unit, no call back for a week, I have nw left 4 meaasges with no return call. I called in to talk with the service manager and Asley called back, very nice but had no athority to resolve the problem, told me she would have Kurt call me, no call. I had the truck for less then a week and the truck did the same thing and I was stranded on the side of the road. I called and called Borgman Left a number of meassages no return call. I finally took the truck to Fox Ford and they are working on it. It looks like Bourgman mis diagnosed the issue. We were forced to got to a Ford dealership for the repair. We have has TERRIBLE experiences before and here we are again. No one updates is until we called three times. Promised someone would call back in 30 minutes. To call back for 24 hours. Called back to find it was sent to the body shop. Transferred back there. They went ahead and fixed the car without giving us any quote (thankfully it was nothing crazy). They informed us the car had been ready for pick up and service should have called us but no call. So we go to pick up and are told go to the body shop. We go to the body shop and are told go to service. We are told the keys are at service and the car is at the body shop I finally demanded they bring the keys to me. I was then asked three more time to go get them. I Thought Borgman Ford was a reputable dealer. My dad used to buy cars from them years ago. But Theora and Todd (the sales manager) told us the infiniti we wanted ($16,000) would have a $900 payment, and steered us towards a jeep, ($22,000) which miraculously would have a $5-$600 payment. Which didnt make any sense to us. When I confronted Todd about the disparity, and pushing us into a more expensive car he said he didnt know the price of the infinity, or realize the difference. This is the sales manager of the car lot at Borgman Ford saying he didnt know the price of the vehicle we were there to see, and this was our second appointment to go back and look at the infinity for the second time and apply for financing???? He then denied the infinity was the same one as in the online ad, although the color, mileage, and vin numbers were the same??? And the other location of Borgman Ford confirmed this was the same car that they sent there??? They offered us $1500 less for our trade in than the other lots we've since visited, also !! Good work but not the first time; extremely high labor rates. I'll stick with my trusted mechanic after this fiasco. I took my car in on a Thursday for a right side front drive axel that was clunking and rattling . Also needed a couple of wheel studs for two lug nuts, which mechanic Michael Scherer did an outstanding job on. However, after replacing nearly $600 in parts and spending 4 hours (labor is $165/ hour!?) the noise was still there!? Service Manager Jon Hudson made it right the following Monday while loaning me a vehicle for three days / no charge. He also did not charge me for the 2 hours of labor to replace the front axel, but the work (all of it) took three business days to complete. Before paying my bill the second time, I asked to see my front suspension arm assembly, strut and springs which were replaced, but Jon couldn't find these parts, saying "I could show you some parts but they wouldn't be yours." After complaining about the manner in which the work was eventually completed mentioning that there was a reason I didn't take my car to Fox Ford he told me that "maybe I should've taken it to my mechanic." I did but his suppliers didn't have the correct parts to complete the work. Enter the dealership There's still a little clunking and rattling coming from the front end of my car which my mechanic checked and chalked up to it being a 13 year-old vehicle, but it's safe and drives well. Ashley (assistant service manager) found the old parts on business day #3 and showed me them proving that all of the work was legitimate. Ashley was a star and very helpful. The jury's out on Jon. I was disappointed overall, but I learned my lesson: Even when your mechanic can't find the parts, check with a dealer, pay an extra 20-25% for the parts and take your those parts to your mechanic. Save yourself on the labor and a potential "misunderstanding." read more

Where to start, been bringing my vehicles here for years - over that time the service and quality of service has gone down. My glove box had been broken while replacing the cabin filter - they FAILED to let me know - discovered it AFTER we left and was driving and the passenger opened it to put a paper in it and it fell and smashed their knees. They ordered and replaced it however it still doesn't close correct. When I was due for another oil change I decided to go somewhere else - the Customer Service at that place was honestly great so was Thankful for that. Returned to Borgman for my recent oil change and WOW the service I didn't think could get worse and it did. Made an appt and was told my wait was an hour and a half "They were busy" I understand and respect being busy but what was the point of having an appt verses walking in with no appt if you have to wait that long. Was told they do a full inspection of the car with the type of oil change I requested and with routing the tires. Well living in Michigan and all the snow - interesting my dirty rims show NO hand prints on any of the tires - you think they levitated during the routing or it didn't happen? Thought I had a light out but was told they checked them - guess who has a light out??? Must have just happened. Almost forgot the whole reason I am posting this - back to Customer Service - you have a Customer for waiting for their vehicle - their vehicle is done and they saw the keys were brought in - Customers time apparently doesn't matter. Wait over 5 mins and to check out - finally asked the other person that was NOT doing anything besides chatting (was not on the computer, was not on the phone - just was sitting there) they look up your ticket to tell you the one person that is on the phone working, they have your ticket and proceeds to tell you they've been on the phone and they will get to you when they are done ummmmmmmm why couldn't you just get the ticket and cash me out so I can be on my way??? read more

Service department turned off my head lights when they gave me an oil change, well after coming from driving cars that would not have dash lights on if you head lights weren't on I could not say the same for my 2017 Ford Fusion the dash light stay on even if your head lights are not on. When I went to drive my car at night for the first time since the oil change I pulled onto the free way and the dash light got bright I knew something was wrong and that I should pull over but unfortunately I had a police office due that for me. Again why would they turn OFF my head lights during an oil change and leave them off? That was my first time taking my car there for an oil change and it will be my last. read more

09/29/2018 This was a great visit, we were shopping for a gently used car. We had the salesman Geoff. Geoff was patient, answered all our questions, and was personable. Unfortunately there was not a car we really liked at that time. We tried a Ford 2015 C-Max with a moon roof. It was a nice gentle ride, but we decided against. What I really liked about Geoff was that he was not to pusky and he was attentive. He went on the rode along and talked about the cars that we were interested and the pros/cons each. I initially wanted to buy a new 2019 Ford Fiesta, but quickly learned that this was not a wise choice with two dogs in tow :) So that is when we drove the C-MAX, which open many thoughts to larger scale vehicles. My husband and I were helping a widow friend to find a used vehicle after hers was totaled in an accident. We visited the used car lot last Friday with her and she told the salesman what type of vehicle she wanted, her spending limit, and approximate mileage desired. It was snowing that day when we arrived at the dealership and the steps and walk had not been cleared. The salesman located a vehicle for her to try and had to clean the snow off before bringing it up near the front door. It was so small it was claustrophobic and she told him she was not interested in that one. He found a Mazda in their inventory but had to walk in the snow to the lot next door to get it. He had cleaned it of snow and promptly got into the front seat to ride along on the test drive, stating it was "just in case something happened." After taking it for a drive he asked her to come back to his office area and he would give her the final price, which ended up being several hundred dollars above her limit. When she told him that would not work and she wasn't interested in it after driving it, he became very agitated and rude! My husband had to finally cut him off and we left. Was he just irritated because he had to go out in the weather and then wasn't able to finalize a sale? He's a salesman - he should be used to people wanting to think about a large purchase like this or changing their minds once they actually sit in and drive a vehicle. It's not the same as just looking at pictures on a computer screen! Not a good experience. read more

When purchasing the vehicle I was assured that a service appointment was part of their process. Simple phone service, set an appointment and they would take care of me. Attempting to obtain an appointment turned into, drop the vehicle off we'll need it for the entire day. The reason I asked during the purchase process is that I don't live near the dealership. The inconvenience of my traveling to Grand Rapids and back home twice for one service is not a concern for them now. Sales apparently will tell you anything while service is caustic. read more

We have used Borgman Ford to buy vehicles since the '90's. Prior to this last situation, we have had great experiences. This week we had a terrible experience. We worked with Braydon Spaugh. He became passive aggressive and snarky when we did not agree to pay what he wanted for the car. We did end up buying the car because our son (in the military) flew home to purchase a vehicle. We were told there was a military discount and he would get the 2nd key. With the cash price we paid, the military discount and 2nd key disappeared. Also, Braydon said he would fill up the gas tank and clean up the car. He did neither. Luckily our son filled his tank up before he left to drive across the country. Maybe, some of the other sales people are still reputable at Borgman. However, steer clear of Braydon Spaugh. For our son's first major purchase this was an eye opening and learning experience. I felt ripped off after my last experience at Borgman. This was in part for not rejecting what I felt was excessive and for not arguing more about the service. I only went in for an oil change. Borgman refused to take my loyalty dollars which I had been told would never expire, but they discontinued the program last October. I never received notice. $18.65 My truck was at 30,000 miles. I was told that a transmission fluid flush was mandatory to prolong the life of the vehicle and prevent expensive breakdowns. Ha, I have now read that this is a scam to milk customers. But with my lower mileage it would not damage my vehicle and MAY be beneficial, but probably not necessary. $175 Finally, the service department said my rear tire had been patched and patched tires are not safe.Since the tire was worn to half life, both tires would need to be replaced for the safest drive. Now I discover Borgman charged $50 per tire for the same tire sold at Costco. Since I bought my truck at Borgman, it means they sold me a new truck with patched tires that their own service department says is unsafe. $400, seems to me Borgman should by the replacement tire, and I could buy the matching pair. read more

After a terrible experience before we said we would never come here again. Due to a recall we had to go to a Ford Dealership so once again we came back. Similar issues to last time. We were promised it would be done in a certain time frame. That time passed. When we call the receptionist cuts you off and transfers you to a voicemail before you are even done explaining the situation. The person who you leave a voicemail doesn't call back. You call again and it rings for over three minutes before you get someone to answer. You get another voicemail. I finally reported it to Ford Customer Service. They were thankfully very helpful. I called back asking to speak with our advisor. They finally admitted he wasn't even it today. I explained I have already made a formal complaint with Ford and our car is more than a week overdue with no timeline of completion. Now they were listening. Thank you to Eric who took the time to get it moved up to priority and said it will be done in the next day or so. I hope this is true. Find somewhere else to go, even if it means driving farther. I was a satisfied customer back when I purchased my car and warranty from Borgman Ford. I called and made an appt to have to have a touchscreen issue repaired under warranty. I added on an oil change. I went in on day of appt and was told I would have to take my car to a Toyota dealership to have it serviced because they don't have Toyota parts and couldn't order them. Told me they couldn't help me but that I could take my car to Toyota under the warranty. I believed them and said it would have been helpful to know that ahead of time. However, at the Toyota dealership I was told they lied to me. They are more than able to order and service Toyota cars. Service tech at Toyota called them and asked how they could sell me a car, sell me a warranty, yet deny me service when I show up. They denied it and said they didn't do that. I've lost my faith in Borgman. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. 2 visits to this service department and 2 bad experiences. First visit they tried selling me rear brakes when I wasn't there for brakes and when I went to do the brakes at home I found them to still have 80% of pad life. Today (service advisor Jon H/8903) my explorer was there for a rear toe link recall and when they gave me the invoice it says they did a rear wheel alignment but it still needs a front end alignment. They never told me when they called me and they already had the alignment machine hooked up so it would have taken 5 minutes to set the front toe. Maybe 10-15 if they had to use heat to break the nuts loose and then cool it back off to set the toe. So instead of telling me it needed the front aligned and giving me the option of having them do it they never said anything. So now I have the hassle of going and getting an alignment. I asked Jon H. why and he rudely said "we only align what we work on". So they will sell me something I don't need but not sell me something i do need? I was a mechanic for 15 years. Spent countless hours under an alignment rack and I never set the rear camber and toe without also doing the front. The front is aligned off the rear wheels so when you adjust the rear wheels you have to reset the front. This shop is garbage. read more

I went to the Borgman Ford website and it showed a Maverick XL in stock. another Ford site showed it just arrived at Borgman. This was on 11/18/22. So, I went in on Saturday 11/18/22 when they opened at 10:00 AM. Drove a 45 minutes in bad weather. I get there an the Black Maverick XL is sitting out front of the used car building. I go inside and a guy is standing there. I said I'd like to test drive that Maverick out there. He said, "Oh it's sold"! I said your website shows it available and was listed at $22,500. He went to his desk and brought up the website. He said most of the cars that show "just arrived", are usually someone else's order. He also said that even though it shows listed at $22,500, we are charging $8,000 to $10,000 more than sticker price. I said what and he said, " well that's what it is". I couldn't believe I wasted my whole morning, only to find out it wasn't even available. Then, on top of that, they were charging almost 50% more than the price shown on the website. That is false advertising and robbing consumers in an epic way. I still can't believe this. read more

Since the last time I reviewed, I've had some less than stellar experiences with Borgman Ford both with service and sales. Unfortunately, this knocks off some stars. On the sales side, I went to Borgman to purchase a new vehicle. Full disclosure: My credit is far from perfect. But after an initial interview with a salesperson and a hand shake, I never heard from them again. I ended up buying a vehicle from Barber Ford in Holland. On the service side, the staff seem to have had some turn-over and the new staff aren't quite as accommodating, quick, and friendly as before. There have been some times where the staff have not been very quick to respond to my arrival and other times where obviously unneeded repairs and maintenance were recommended or needed maintenance was not reported in a "multi-point inspection" that seemed to be rubber-stamped. However, the location is still generally a good place to go for service. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. Overall, we've been very happy! Skip, our salesman, was amazing! He was great from start to finish - from inquiring about the vehicle to returning to have purchase add ons installed. He went above and beyond for us, very accommodating as we live 45 minutes away. Our only complaint would be that their finance guy, Wally, seemed to be quite bothered with our questions and annoyed that we came in with our own financing. He went from nice guy to major attitude quickly. If Skip hadn't been so wonderful, Wally would've killed the deal for us. Service department folks were very nice, too. We have 2 young children who sat with us for hours when purchasing our vehicle and they were nice to them - offering popcorn, movies, and candy. Unprofessional unfriendly rude people in parts department They try to charge you double the cost of an actual part.. They sell you a lemon and charge you Five times the real value of the car and then before you're done even paying off the car it breaks down it's rusted all over. When I first bought my car I took it to a guy who owns a body shop two days later and he told me it had five gasket leaks. How do you sell a vehicle for $16,000 and not notice it has five gasket leaks.They do shitty bodywork and have shitty customer service. Don't go here unless you want to buy a lemon and get treated unprofessionally by rude people every time and be charged 2 to5 times more than you would pay anywhere else. Me: "What can you do about the price?" Sales Person: I've got it at 22k. You are the first to drive it and they have been selling quick. I can do 21500. How does that sound?"
