We had a scheduled move (which was scheduled a week before) the day of the move we received notification that they did not have a truck for us, we were told by Marcos that he would try to find a truck and would be notified once they did. We waited, no response. We called him again no response. He called back until 3pm we missed the call and tried calling him back and of course no answer. If he was unable to get a truck he should have communicated that. There was zero communication and professionalism about him and what he represents for this company. I'm completely disappointed with the interaction from this company. Will never recommend them to anyone anymore!

It took them over an hour to take the treadmill apart (I sent them the make and model prior to the move) and when we went to the location they couldn't figure out how to put it back together. I was well into hour 3 and I was paying by the hour so I finally said this is costing me way to much. The tech agreed and said sorry I can't get it to work. I only got a 1/2 hour taken off my bill. I was disappointed at the lack of customer service. However, the rest of the move was wonderful. The 2 young men were fast and careful with my property. She made the company sound organized, reliable, and worth the price. Unfortunately, what followed did not reflect that impression. Although the company presents itself as a California-based operation with its own fleet, our belongings were transported more than 2,000 miles in what appeared to be a standard rental truck with a trailer attached. Our suitcases were placed loose in the open back of the truck exposed to dirt, weather, and potential theft. They were not transported in a secured moving vehicle, and by the time everything arrived in Florida, several items were dirty and damaged. The delivery process was especially frustrating. My husband was pressured into helping unload everything, yet they still expected a tip afterward, but he did most of the heavy lifting.We were also charged extra to have our items brought to our door, even though the truck could have parked directly in front of the building. The driver simply chose not to because it was inconvenient. We had missing and damaged items, including lamp parts, table legs, and a damaged KitchenAid due to careless handling. While the pickup crew in California was professional, the delivery team was disorganized and rushed. To make things worse, we were told at the last minute that our building supposedly didn't allow Saturday deliveries. The driver said our belongings could either be left on the side of the road or placed into storage at our expense...even though we paid for door to door delivery and were never informed of any restrictions and this is a very long move as is. This was not an inexpensive service, and the experience did not come close to matching the promises made during the sales process. When a company positions itself as premium, the gap between what is sold and what is delivered becomes impossible to ignore especially when they try to charge you extra for every step of the way. I wish my experience had been different, but unfortunately, it wasn't.

The shakedown for $1100 more than quoted and the fact ROUTE 66 Specifically JULIAN AND KEN LIE AND TELL YOU they aren't a broker BUT THEY ARE. Emailed a month and a Half before my move knowing this would be more than enough time to move from Burbank to Las Vegas... I talked with a gentleman and I use that term loosely name Julian I asked him specifically are you a broker... He said no we're reputable moving company here in Los Angeles... They give me an estimate of $2100 for a small one bedroom apartment... He said one of the dispatch would be calling me the day before to schedule a time to pick up my stuff A day before I get calls from three separate movers saying they are now doing my move because route 66 could not do it... Road Runner air one and Max moving. I told each one of them this couldn't be I have route 66 as my movers they each told me that route 66 had given the move to them... I was livid I am mediately called Route 66 and talk to a manager named Ken... Not his real name I'm sure... He said in some instances around 5% of the time they are so busy they have to give the move to another moving company... This is a complete lie I did my research and looked at the Better Business Bureau and this happens all the time with the shady movers at Route 66 They said Erewhon would be doing my move they don't know why the other movers called me... What was I supposed to do? The move was the next day and I've already given them over $700 as a deposit... The following day the movers from ear ones showed up... To be honest they were nice guys and efficient however when they looked at the stuff I had they said this is gonna be another $800... Typical mover scam... I don't have a lot of stuff and I knew that it was a shake down... So I had to come up with another $800 plus another $300 cash only they would take... Do not use a mover that won't take a credit card on every transaction... It just means shady garbage They did wrap up my stuff in the small truck and I gave him the cash they demanded I made the drive to Vegas the next day and got a call the following day saying they'd be there two days later... I got a call the day of the move that they're supposed to drop off my stuff from another mover they are transferred all of my belongings to a semi truck and 18 wheeler... And this guy was a complete idiot... He said he could not get into my complex with such a big truck and we need to transfer go rent another truck and then bring it into my place I told him to take another try at backing in which she did and made it in to my complex... When the stuff came I had multiple things destroyed box is crushed thanks broken it was a total garbage mess I tried calling route 66 again and emailing again and they have not returned any of my calls or emails they are a scam do not use them I will be going to the Better Business Bureau again on ROUTE 66 Movers it was the worst experience ever do not use this moving company seriously they are a fucking joke They will pond your stuff off on another mover vent up charge you another $12-$1500 and break many objects... BOOKING Conversing with Eugene, and ultimately Sean, both…read morevia email, was a relatively smooth process. Maxim was the estimator who came to visit us and that turned into a crazy situation. I asked him not to close my front door as it would lock us out and he accidentally did it anyway and my infant was inside. She fell off the bed, crawled to the entry and almost fell down all the stairs all the while crying, while I was desperately trying to kick the door down in the rain to save her. Maxim stood there expressionless and with zero instincts not even helping (?) so bizarre. Neighbor guy came out and kicked my door down and I saved her from falling and this guy is like "Wow........" holding his clipboard like whatevz. Basically I went with their company anyway but asked to never see that guy again. PRICE $3,190 to include packing and unpacking. This was a corporate move and we sought out the best rated company with the best price. Route 66 had the second most competitive price and claimed to offer packing and unpacking services as well PACKING/MOVING DAY Alex, Sergei and one other guy show up. They're young and hunky and ready to work. Alex and Sergei packed everything very professionally with plenty of common sense. Alex was chatty and friendly, and Sergei was all business and focused only on the task. The third guy was the disappointment, I imagine he was the added "muscle" for the day, but shouldn't have been packing at all. He piled a bunch of junk on top of my signed artwork, which I only discovered once up in SF (see photos). Also, when disassembling our bedroom, they damaged our blinds. Happens...overall I really liked Alex and his quality of work, and Sergei's packing skills and focus. We bought them snacks and drinks, tipped them and were all set. Four stars overall for a mostly headache-free booking, packing and clearing of our place. My follow up review will be on their SF Yelp account where my items were received and "unpacked".
