We dined at Pasta Brioni last weekend with friends. To be very honest, it was quite disappointing. It was a summer Saturday in Phoenix, and the restaurant wasn't very busy, yet we barely got seated and our waiter was rushing us to order. We weren't ready! I think he was disappointed that we were not going to build a big bar tab. Only 2 of us ordered from the bar list. Now to the food. We've eaten at this place many many times over the years. And returned because the food and service were excellent. However this time, our food was far from what we expected, and the waiter seemed like he wished he were anywhere else but there! The appetizer ordered was so haphazardly put on the plate, and was also not tasty. My husband's salmon was thin and dry. I don't think this place has seen any updating since it opened. Currently, it feels dank and dirty with no signs of welcoming any changes. It's always sad to see the neglect of management/investors in not protecting their stock in trade- their reputation and respect for their customers. read more

Not much to not like at this restaurant. An open kitchen to see your food prepared. Dark wood in the dining area to make you feel upscale (different vibe in the bar area). Tasty food, prepared in a nice sized portions and served as intended. Very good service (Big Rich and crew). Fun history (walk around and look at the walls). Was there a couple of bumps? My martini was good, but wasn't dirty. The bread, previously mentioned by someone as stale, was okay, not great. Definitely not deal breakers. Would I go back? Pasta Brioni is an elegant Italian restaurant in South Scottsdale. Service is outstanding and the place is decorated in a 50's Italian style. We started with the Brussels Sprouts appetizer. These were the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had. My wife had the pork chops in mushroom sauce. She said they were ok. I tried a bite. The pork chops themselves were dry. I had the Lobster tail with shrimp risotto. The lobster tail was ok. The meat wasn't as sweet as Maine lobster. The shrimp risotto was good. Pasta Brioni is a nice place. We loved our experience at Pasta Brioni! Our server was so kind and attentive. He provided excellent recommendations and checked in with us throughout our meal. We sat in the room with the bar and liked the ambiance there, very cozy. The best part was the food! Pasta Brioni has been on my radar for years and I can't say enough good things about it. I don't know what took me so long to try it, because I now I crave it. Especially "Emmas dumplings". Dough filled with cheese and smothered in vodka sauce..yes please! They truly melted in your mouth and were so delicious. Even were good warmed up the next day. This small, neighborhood vibe restaurant was busy and filled with life and fresh Italian smells. My waiter was hilarious and welcoming, and accommodated us with wanting to share meals. He had the kitchen split the meals before they came out of the kitchen, which was so kind. The beet salad was fresh, the homemade tomato sauce was savory and sweet, and my glass of Cabernet was the perfect pairing. I can't wait to make this my go-to Italian spot in Scottsdale! read more

Not sure how I've lived in Scottsdale for 3 years and hadn't been here sooner. Pasta Brioni is a Scottsdale staple. Family owned and operated and fresh pasta made daily- the difference you can taste. The entire staff are friendly, hospitable, and warm. This is the type of place to bring your family, a first date, or friends. A standout dish for me was their daily special pasta with wagyu. We planned a birthday dinner for my friend's 40th before heading out to the bars, and this place was perfect. It's big and has clearly been around for years. We made a reservation ahead of time and had a table ready for us on the outdoor patio. We went on a Friday and could instantly tell this place is legit. The ambiance isn't modern it's more home-style but honestly, who cares when the food is this good? The service was excellent and incredibly fast. We were on a bit of a time crunch, and they helped us wrap everything up right on schedule. For drinks, I ordered a Cosmo and oh my one of the best cocktails I've had. The flavor was perfectly balanced and so smooth. For appetizers, we tried Emma's dumplings, beet salad, Brussels sprouts, and burrata. They started us off with house-made bread and homemade butter, I could eat that all day. So good! We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing vegetarian options. The Brussels sprouts, beet salad, and Emma's dumplings were definite winners each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. For mains, we ordered the penne vodka. I had high expectations, and while it was good, it was more on the average side compared to everything else. And finally the butter cake for dessert absolutely knocked it out of the park. You could literally taste the butter in every bite, Unreal. Pricing is very reasonable, and overall the service and food were beyond exceptional. We'll definitely be back! read more

Server was super nice, but I did not like the chicken flavor. Amazing preparation (meaning chicken cutlet was nice and thin) but I did not like the flavor of the breading and especially the sauce. I got the $33 offering with caesar salad, rigatoni four cheese, and a traditional cheesecake for dessert. I also did the $20 add-on for the wine pairing. While their caesar salad was pretty standard, I really enjoyed my rigatoni four cheese. Fontina, gorgonzola, parmesan, and provolone sauce drowns housemade rigatoni pasta and ohhhh yeeeessssss! Love me so cheese. The cheesecake was also a delicious treat but how can you go wrong with cheesecake? Pasta Brioni, est. in 1993, is a great place and I'm glad to have finally given them a try. They're an old-school Italian place with lots of maroon. Oscar, our waiter, was super friendly and the vibes were just right. One of my favorite Sunday evening hangouts. Haley (their MOST awesome bartender) is a gem who doesn't let your glass go empty. If you want to chat, she's fun. it's been years since I came to this restaurant with my kids and we decided to celebrate pre-Thanksgiving ended up being seven of us picked a round table and two our delight not one dish was bad. The service was excellent and for a local restaurant not fancy Mancy this exceeded our expectations. I would suggest strongly if you're doing a 10 or less party for dinner. This is all Chef driven food nothing on a production line made to order. Don't skip this place in an old shopping center along Miller Road everybody there was perfect and we spent two hours chatting and eating our great food and their desserts were excellent run. We visited Pasta Brioni while on vacation and it was a pretty good neighborhood place. They did have outdoor seating, but it was a little chilly the night we went, a Thursday, so we reserved a table in the bar as all reservations in their dining room were unavailable. The bar area is designed in all dark wood with large TVs above the bar and in the corners of the room. We arrived and were escorted to our table. I think the host is either the bartender or a floor manager. He was doing both jobs, so maybe he does both. As soon as we sat down, our server arrived with water and bread. Gave us a few moments and then took our drink orders. I know my wife got the beet salad and thought it was wonderful and then had the shrimp scampi and thought that was great too. I ordered the Wedding Soup and it was good but was buried in spinach. It was like there was a kelp forest in my bowl as it overshadowed everything else in the soup. I removed all the spinach and, I'm not exaggerating, half the soup was gone. If I wanted a wet, crappy salad, I'd have ordered one. I then ordered the lasagna. This lasagna was dense. I ate every last bite and thought I was going to die. It was wonderful. However, I learned that if you go there and order the lasagna, you cannot eat anything else while you're there. It's a great dish, but insanely dense. It's such a great place and they knew practically everyone in the place. The dining room was packed, the bar was packed, and customers were getting turned away! On a Thursday night! If you're in the area, stop by, you will not be disappointed. read more

Nicer than expected outdoor dining area! No photos online do it justice. Initially they couldn't find our reservation but a screenshot we had confirmed what their system failed to do..... polished servers with pleasant suggestions made the evening nice. The rolls were great as was the garlicky butter. Drinks were okay too. The fried calamari was not good with no crispiness to the batter and a taste of old overused oil. Even the tiny cup of marinara sauce was just okay. The halibut however was very well prepared and seasoned and was a hit. The linguine with seafood was excellent and devoured. The chicken Parmesan was average in all respects except for its massive size. No way to finish that in one sitting. Unfortunately the pasta sides were beyond al dente a limp. Our waiter was busy and the check took a while but overall an above average Italian dinner. read more

Brioni is the perfect place to escape the extreme heat. Hidden in a parking lot near the Sprouts grocery store, Pasta Brioni offers a break with tasty comfort food. I suggest the happy hour which is 4:30 to close Sun-Weds at the bar. I like the staples such as the Bruschetta Board or an Old Fashioned or Nigroni. Service is good and the interior is dark and cool. You can taste the quality of the Fresh homemade pasta it's perfectly cooked, the flavors of the sauces were fantastic, everything was hot and made fairly quickly, the pizza was just perfect the dough was light and fluffy not greasy at alll and tasted homemade as well and the pizza sauce on the margarita pizza was TO DIE FOR !!! How can one not have wonderful time at Pasta Brioni? Old style Italian family restaurant, Sinatra crooning on the speakers, fresh pasta being made in the kitchen. Nice! A big thank you to Miss Diane M. not only for suggesting Pasta Brioni, but also thinking to add us for the evening. Even though my arch-nemesis Miss Joyce opposed vig-orously ;) I showed up anyway. There was wine, there was song, there were terrific dishes which we devoured. Manga Manga! Came to Pasta Brioni for AZ Restaurant Week. We all ordered from the 35/55 dollar menu and most opted for the wine pairing which turned it all festive and fun-filled. 3 course dinner included Salad (antipasta) Main course (secondo) and Dessert (dolce) Oscarito was our seasoned server making the evening memorable and delightful. Next time we come here, definitely will ask for his section. Dishes ordered came out plentiful & overloaded with food! *First course: Caprese salad was eye appealing and didn't disappoint. Fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, yum! Caesars salad was a bit lacking. The entire night I was tossing and turning in bed wishing I had ordered the Caprese. Next time. (I still ate the entire caesars :) *Second course: This is where we got to see the variety of dishes as we all ordered different entrees: -Chicken Parmesan was humongous! Was served on spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce and topped with mozzarella. It could feed two people, or one jon. Got to taste and was delish. -Rigatoni Four Cheese was so cheesy good, Miss Joyce insisted it was a 5 cheese rigatoni. She enjoyed her 4 Cheese Rigatoni like mouse in a New York Kitchen. Miss Joyce stood up and shouted "4 stars for the 4 Cheese Rigatoni!" -Linguini Pescatore ordered by Miss Diane, was a medley of clams mussels calamari and shrimp.(please see photo) Portion was also large with lots of seafood in broth...yum -Veal Sorrentino served in marsala sauce topped with mozzarella cheese was delicious! Came with a side of penne pasta with marinara sauce which I scrapped the bottom of the bowl to get every bit of it! ******DESSERTS****** -Cannoli was very decent with a tasty shell filled with mascarpone and ricotta filling. -Three layer chocolate cake. -Traditional Cheesecake. The evening was enjoyed in terrific company of friends, good food, wine and song. Next time I'm ordering from the extensive menu to try other handmade pasta dishes. A Huge Plus is the wine list which goes on and on ;) with marvelous choices. +Pasta Brioni also has a to-go entrance separate from the main door entrance. I parked there for 20 minutes and noticed how busy the to-go section was. Impressively so. +Parking is not a problem as it is located in a large shopping center making it convenient. +Reservations not required but I would definitely make them since the day we arrived it was busy.
