Marinated pork shaved off the trompo next to that huge flame, topped acrobatically with a toss of guac sauce. Heaven, and worth any detour. Angel's is the first place that comes remotely close to this. The best I've had since Rosarito a couple of years ago. Today was my first time there, and I'm an instant fan. I also had the asada, just as good, and the tripa, also wonderful. It is now easily my favorite taco place in Orange County, narrowly surpassing Tacos Los Cholos, which is also pretty darn good. At 11:25 am the line was short, but the place was already pretty full. After ten minutes or so the line was out the door. Taco Tuesday for $2.25 instead of $4 each is a no-brainer.

It was 2 carnitas tacos (listed for ~$4.40 each), plus an El Jefe taco (~$6.75). When he said $19 something it sounded high, I questioned it and he said that's what it is. I didn't want to argue further. I calculated it afterward and this was overpaying by $2 something. The amount is not a big deal, but I don't like being stolen from. So I'm writing this, so that others may avoid the same annoying experience. I was hoping the tacos would be really good and justifies it. But they weren't. The El Jefe one wasn't even as described. He said there would be cheese but there wasn't. The guac tasted old. And the whole plate was incredibly oily. The carnitas ones were less oily but not very flavorful either, and there were chunks of fat. Never again. Also the place was just gross. They used the same ladle for all the sauces, so it was all cross contaminated. The bathroom looked like a mess and had graffiti everywhere too.

Yes, you'd obviously like for everything that you paid for to be handed to you, but a lesson learned to check your bags!!! If something is missing, kindly let them know and receive everything you paid for. They damaged our property while leaving the event, never informed us, never apologized, and have been extremely slow to respond. A month later, I had to reach out again for an update. Now, Im forced to pay for the repairs myself and submit the bill while waiting for their insurance pay. I'm now out several hundred dollars for something that should have been handled immediately. They lost a loyal customer over an issue that could have been resolved quickly and professionally. What's also upsetting is we tipped the guy generously and that how they left our property.
