The atmosphere is really unique: live music, open-air, along the docks. B.O. lives up to the name "wagon" in the sense that the restaurant is not actually in a building. It's more of a conglomeration of boxes. But the location doesn't come off as gimmickly like a lot of the places in Key West do. The menu is 6 or 8 items ordered from a window. I had a decent (but not amazing) fish sandwich with a side of rice and beans for about $12-13. In Key West, this is a fairly good deal. I had a great time here and would probably return, but the fish was simply not as good as I expected it to be. read more

TOURIST TRAP! Be prepared to spend $50 or more on two SMALL fish sandwiches, two limeade, and 3 conch fritters. Mind blown, absolutely life changing Michigan star level fast food? No, it's an average fast food joint you eat when you need to grab a fast lunch. Oh, btw, there are chicken poop on the tables because they let chickens run around in the eating area! read more

Great atmosphere for an eclectic hole-in-the-wall fish joint. Grouper sandwich could have benefited from more key lime mayo and less or even no bread. Grilled fish of the day sandwich (mahi) also needed more mayo. Generally good but wasn't amazing. Didn't get to try the conch fritters. Maybe next time. read more

One of the best fish sandwiches period. Grouper was out so we had the hogfish instead. The fish was plentiful on the sandwich even coming out the sides. The batter was excellent and very light. Interesting enough the sandwich doesn't have much more than lettuce, tomato, and a mayo. but for some reason it really works. The bread was excellent also. Had the fries which were also great. Was a bit pricey in the end for two sandwiches and sides but it was worth it. read more

Conch fritters are probably the best on the island!! Fish sandwich and burgers are pretty good for being right in Key West, but unfortunately a bit pricey for food off of a fish wagon, especially with better choices out there for not much of a price difference. I asked about the "special" that everyone seemed to be ordering and was told it was for locals only, kind of thought I was missing out on something there :o( Key limeade was nice and the bonus refill was even better for the hot day! Was on a mission to find the best conch fritters ever. Found them...they are in the Bahamas at the Nassau Straw Market Fish Fry. If you can not get to the Bahamas then I would say that BO's is the best in Key West after some serious taste testing around town. Other dishes tested were good, but the grouper was the best. read more

Not the cheapest score in Key West, but one of the ones with the most value! The meals, not necessarily deals, are delicious and fresh!! The serious is tongue and cheek. The place is outside, so if it's cold and rainy, I would probably avoid and they would probably be closed anyways. Would I visit again? Yes! Do I recommend to friends and family? Yes! read more

We stayed very close to B O's and I'm so glad we did because it was great to be able to walk there. However, when we got there we realized they only take cash. I repeat: CASH ONLY. If you're like me and never carry the stuff with you (Debit card=cash to me), you have been forewarned. We had to walk a block to find an ATM. We came back armed (with cash) and ready to eat. My husband and I both had the Fried Grouper Sandwich and yes it is amazingly delicious but somewhat on the small side. We also tried their conch fritters and were not impressed. But it was our first time trying conch fritters so what do I know? Overall, this is a very cool spot. Can't wait to go back for the Grouper. read more

Love the ambience of this place. It looks like a tin shack and I guess it pretty much is! Def embraced the key west feel I adore. Tried the famous grouper sandwich and the platter with coleslaw. 2.5 stars. BO's really seemed like a popular local joint. It was pretty busy when we showed up around 1p. Hubs was craving a grouper sandwich and our friend wanted to try the conch fritters. We had grouper and conch just a few days before at Tark's in Fort Lauderdale, so it's hard not to compare. Though I knew we were going to pay more for the location, I was still surprised when our order came out to be $70 for three entrees: - (2) fried hogfish sandwich: Too bad they ran out of the grouper sandwich! But still good. Husband ate it all up. Friend ate half of his but declared it delicious. - Conch fritters: Can't go wrong with fried dough. Nothing memorable though. These were the last to get finished. - Fried Conch: deep fried, and again, you can't go wrong with fried food. I didn't think that it was particularly outstanding. - Beans and Rice- pretty good. liked the onions So it ended up being over $20pp. I just think that I'd rather pay a few dollars extra for a seafood buffet. read more

My friend and I decided to do our own conch fritter tasting around Key West and these were by far the best conch fritters we had. The conch fritters were huge and filled with lots of conch, somewhat dense but less of a hush puppy texture and more light and airy on the inside. The dipping sauces they served with them were also delicious and complimented them well. I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu next time I'm in Key West! read more

I came here twice this week for lunch. It is a very unassuming open air place with a few resident chickens who hunt for scraps. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. It is dark, dingy, and the chickens like to get on the tables (which all beg for the question of sanitary measures, as I never saw anything getting cleaned), but the conch sandwich was good, the shrimp tacos and fries were great, the coleslaw was average. I would eat here again for sure, if nothing else than the convenience of having a huge parking lot right there (parking in Key West is a pain!). read more

Terrific fish sandwich, but buy were they slammed when we went for lunch. To be fair, it was Presidents' Day, which is probably one of their busiest days all year. Felt bad for the locals, they were obviously pissed by all the tourists! If the kitchen were faster, it would be five stars. A Key West institution, don't miss it. read more

It's the best of both worlds for key west.... Looks like a shack taste like a 5 star restaurant . There menu isn't small , its selectively picked out . It's a lot of deep fried food but it's not greasy deep fried like we have in the Midwest . It's deep fried with a flavor . Typically it's busy from table to table . If you come during the week it's less busy . I suggest the fish tacos and conch . The cocktail sauce is unique and flavorful . It has just enough horseradish without over doing it . A Key West local told me to check out this place. He also warned that it was definitely a dive. Being the brave eater that I am, I had to check it out. I'm so glad that I did. We had an order of conch fritters for the table (after all, this was the conch fritter tour of Key West), I had the cracked conch sandwich all the way, with a side of slaw and everyone else had fried grouper sandwiches. The food is cooked to order, so there is always a wait. Fortunately, we got there at a good time and our food came out relatively quickly. When the food finally came out, it smelled delicious. This has to be the BEST cracked conch I've ever had! Add the key lime mayo to it and the sandwich was heaven on a plate! The conch fritters were the best ones we had all weekend. They were a little spicy and had big chunks of conch inside. The slaw was nothing amazing, but I was so happy with my conch that I didn't care. If you're not afraid of sticky tables and little dives, this place is perfect. BO's only takes cash, but have no fear, there are ATMs all around. Be prepared to pay a $3.25 fee at the ATM at the quick stop down the street. read more

This was the first restaurant that i visited while in KW. LOVED that it's really a shack. The people were super friendly, there was plenty of seating and the service was fast. I had a conch sandwich, which was pretty good to me . But i really have nothing to base that against. But i did enjoy it. The fish of the day sandwhich ( mahi mahi that day ) was incredible. Took forever to get a sandwich, that while good, wasn't anything special on the island. The shrimp plate was also good, if not a bit expensive for it is. The upshot - good food that you have to wait awhile for and that's a little overpriced. There are plenty of better options on the island, but you could worse. read more

BO's is a unique little shanty near the warf in Old Town Key West. We stopped here for lunch one day on the recommendation of two different people. We arrived right before they opened so we saw the employees prepping all the fresh food! We ordered fresh grouper sandwiches and conch fritters. Everything was great! The only downfall to BO's is the prices are a little high but...sometimes that's what you pay for fresh food. I would definitely recommend BO's and plan on returning. That alone felt like a small vacation in a glass. The menu offers plenty of choices to satisfy almost any palate. We weren't especially hungry, so we opted for a lighter approach: * Grilled Octopus * Tempura Green Beans * Spinach and Goat Cheese Salad Everything we ordered was very good. The salad was fresh and thoughtfully balanced, with bacon, goat cheese, apple, and honey bringing layers of flavor. It was served with a crusty baguette. I love love love places like this. Before I start, remember to bring cash with you. So many people lined up for 10-15 minutes to be told cash only. This place gets busy at lunch time from about 12:30. It is very casual here, a walk up stand to order your food and benches to sit on. Everything is outside but under covers. I'm not too sure how good it will be if it rains. So, we walked up to the stand and ordered the famous grouper sandwich, conch and coleslaw. We returned to out table/bench where we had kitchen roll, wet wipes and other condiments. We waited about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. The conch fritters and coleslaw arrived first. OMG the fritters were amazing, anyone who leaves this place without trying them is insane. The grouper sandwich was also great. Very lightly fried and full of flavors. What are the qualifications to be the best Conch Fritters? Flavor? Conch to bread ratio? Size? Dipping sauces provided? The conch fritters at BO's should surely be in the running for best fritters. When you bite in you are not overwhelmed by a dry bready mix but actually are hit with a juicy conch flavor followed by a battered peppery of satisfying deliciousness. I don't understand why so many people rave about this place as I was quite disappointed. We had the conch fritters and the "famous" Grouper sandwich. The conch fritters were tasteless with really hard stringy stuff inside - I've never eaten conch before so I have no idea if that is normal. The Grouper sandwich was very bland and the only redeeming feature was the mayonnaise dressing. At least I think it was mayo. Over rated and over hyped tourist trap. read more
