Never going back, Won't have 'or else' implied to me as a customer for the audacity of asking for the status of my order. Ok Burgers, Good shakes, terrible attitude from I think the cook. I've been several times and it's consistently average. So I went there and it was moderately busy as it has been before. They took my order and I waited. I began to get a bit worried that they had missed my order when they called 2 numbers after mine. I tried to get the attention of the staff first by waiting at the order window and was ignored. Then I went to the pickup window and saw a crew member chatting in the back. I called quietly to get their attention, they either didn't hear me or ignored me. Then a crew member walked past the pickup window and I again said excuse me, and again no response. I then tried a 3rd time to the crew member in the back a bit louder, with no response. So I raised my voice and said Excuse me? A crew member finally came over. I asked if my order had been missed as others after me had been called, they stated that the Onion rings were taking longer so thus the wait. I said thank you and know that I know all is good. I figured all was good. Then when my order was ready a male chastised me for yelling and told me not to do that again. I explained that I had tried to get the crews attention several times and had to raise my voice to get their attention. Bottom line you are a service industry. That attitude won't fly. I cannot fathom all these poor and or mediocre reviews, tehy break my heart. This place is friggin' awesome. It's super tasty, their trademark "boss sauce" is perfectly zesty, and I've never had a bad experience. it's not always fast, but they're often busy. You can escape with more and better food than McD's for about the same cost, and two can eat for $12 if you're willing to get a big cozy. My friend raves about their shakes, and their blizzard like Blurries are friggin' awesome. The Dub C is my burger of choice, special sauce on two patties with cheese and veggies. $4. It's the right size, the right fixings, it's just perfect. if you want lighter, there's a smaller option, and if you wanna go nuts, there's a triple burger, or the Boss Hog, which is a Dub with lots of extra piggie meat on it (bacon, ham, etc). I've even had their turkey burger, which is just as good, and surprisingly tasty for a turkey burger. Oh, and they have external speakers that are always rocking what the kitchen is rocking, and their taste in music is excellent. A favorite song came on and I heard a guy yell from that back, "Is that TOOL?" and poked his head up excitedly. I threw up the horns. It was rad. In response he told me to write a yelp review. A moment before, the girl at the counter told me my total and then said, "give me your money!" So...this is a place where people, fun people, COOL people work, not robots. I appreciate that. This is what a neighborhood burger joint should be, delicious, slightly original, quirky, fun, I am back all the time. I really wanted to love this place. I love burgers, it's cheap, it's local, and the meat is ground chuck. I went there several times, and I had a fairly good experience. I was particularly impressed by the friendly service, which I wouldn't have expected from a fast food burger joint. In the end, it's the amount of sodium they pile on the burgers. I had takeout from Boss Drive-In for my birthday. My order was onion rings, Dub-C, and a chocolate milkshake. The onion rings were okay, kind of greasy, while the chocolate milkshake was pretty good. Onto the burger: the meat is good. The bread and toppings are forgettable. The sauce, however, I can't root for. It hurt my tongue and only my tongue. That leads me to believe there's something in their special Boss sauce that might not sit well (read: some kind of risk factor with allergies) with certain people, and that isn't really made clear at any point. That's of course more of a me problem than a restaurant problem, but it still soured the experience for me. The sauce was NOT spicy as far as I could tell. The food is inexpensive so it's worth a shot. My experience wasn't good enough to go above 3 stars though. read more

Stopped into Burger Boss for the first time, recently! I give it a solid Ok. West Seattle has quite a few places to have a great burger, so the competition is stiff. I ordered the Jr. Hog. My wife ordered the Classic. Both were fine. Didn't blow us away. The price and the portions are good, however. Makes it easier to eat "junk" food without taking in a million calories as the other places. :-) The biggest problem was the service. I think the lady at the counter was having a super bad day. We left saying "Man, these burgers better be awesome after that." Just one person on one day. But, customer service is important. Anywho...I'm sure we'll come back. This is more 2.5 stars than 3. I live near Burger Boss and every time I drive down Delridge I see lines of people. I figured I would give it a try one night on my way home from work. Cheap? Hell yes. For a Classic Cheese, Black Bean Burger, and a Tub Of Fries it was eleven dollars and change. Plus you get to choose not one but two dipping sauces from the twelve options they offer. I went with the Boss Sauce, their take on fry sauce, and the Bacon Sirancha which is Siracha mixed with ranch dressing and bacon. Yes, you read that right: Siracha, ranch, and bacon. The customer service was on point however, the burgers were just okay. The dude said his cheeseburger was "alright" and my black bean burger which I was excited about because I love black bean burgers but it failed to impress. It was red which for a black bean burger is just wrong. It simply had nothing going for it. I was exceptionally disappointment by the shredded lettuce that accompanied my burger. Shredded lettuce is an atrocity atop anything that is warm. It just becomes a hot stringy nasty mess. Yuck. The black bean patty was spicy, I'll give Burger Boss that but there was nothing else special about it. The Tub Of Fries? My favorite thing I had there! They were crinkle fries which are the best fries on the planet. The Boss Sauce tasted like a typical fry sauce so no issues with that. The Bacon Sirancha sauce wasn't as incredible as I thought it would be. I mean, to reiterate, Sirancha, ranch, and bacon...sounds delectable, right? But alas, it fell short. My beef (although I had the chicken sandwich) with the Boss is the .27 cent charge for a cup (small paper cup was offered for the charge but no word was made of the clear plastic cup next to it) and the teenager jokingly saying 'we don't charge for the water...just the cup.' I'm giving this place two stars and not one because my husband has been here 2 or 3 other times to get me a peanut butter shake and I've loved it. I came here on my own last week to get the same shake and I won't be coming back. I was on a tight schedule and I saw that no one was in line or waiting for food when I drove by, so I stopped by. It took a few minutes for the guy to even get started taking my order because something was wrong with the receipt printer or something (fair enough). Then, I asked for a peanut butter shake with chocolate syrup. That confused him so much...he had to call his coworker over to ask how to charge me. She came over, eating a banana (wtf?) and said "okay so you don't want chocolate ice cream, you want the vanilla ice cream?" I said yeah, however you make the peanut butter shakes...I just want the chocolate sauce in it. She finished her banana.......??? And then made my shake. It took 10 minutes to get the shake. No one was in line. I don't get it. I get in my car, take a sip...it's a chocolate shake. Vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup. So disappointing. I didn't have time to go back in.
