I really wanted to like this place as I prefer to support small locally owned businesses as opposed to chain stores. The building is cute and the location is great! Unfortunately I was not as excited by the food. The burger was bland. The fries seemed like they were just from a frozen crinkle cut bag. The milkshake was only alright. When I choose to spend my money at a business like Burger Boss, I like to have something that leaves a lasting impression and that stands out from other places. Sad to say that isn't the case here. I like that it was easy to pull in and place an order. It was a little awkward, however, that they didn't have a place to wait. I waited in my car and was unsure if I'd be able to hear the announcement that my food was ready (since it's too cold to have my window down). I'm a regular of this place, at least I was. I was disappointed when they stopped making chicken bites but I moved on to the chicken strips. My kids like it here. But that's not the reason for the 1 star. The last few times I came to burger boss, the girl who took my order was very rude. I'm ordering for 5 people; whenever I say something, she immediately says, "are you done?" I tell her no, and she rolls her eyes. It's not like I'm taking a long time. I get the same stuff every single time. She's clearly annoyed with my business. The first time, I shrug it off. BUT I come back a week later, and she does the same thing, but this time, some guy (that's clearly her friend) comes after me while I'm waiting for my number to be called, and starts yelling my number in a very rude tone. My windows are rolled down, and I'm anticipating for my order to be ready at any moment. She didn't say my number on the intercom. They start giggling and I yell back in the same tone "I'm coming!" They both stopped giggling because they didn't think they'd get a response. When I approached the window to get my order, the guy said "I didn't know it was your order." (I'm the only person left waiting.) I give him a rude "yea right" and the girl pushes out my food without saying anything. We ordered two Dub-C's, a tub of fries, and a large chocolate shake for ~$15 for two people, and felt like we got a fair amount of food for the price. Service was very friendly and the line moved quickly, yay! Got the chocolate shake first, and it was thick and had great flavor. Good start. Fries are well-seasoned, and despite not liking crinkle fries, I actually really liked these. And let's talk about the bacon sriracha, because that was by far one of the best dipping sauces I've had with fries. Love it. Finally, we get to the burgers, and this is where my excitement burst a bit. If you had placed it side by side with McDonald's, I'm not sure I would have been able to tell the difference. The beef patty was small, overcooked, and really didn't have any flavor. The toppings and bun were generic, but they were fine. It was the beef patty that really made me unhappy. The food here is okay. My first time here today, I went with the super single and the corn dog bites with ketchup, because I am apparently 10. The girl behind the counter was super nice, even with an impatient guy lurking and waiting for his order up front. And smoking by the entrance, too. What a jerk. Anyway, Burger Boss is a little drive in located in the Delridge area. You probably already knew that. So what sets them apart? Orders are walk up only, although I guess you can call in your order and pick it up, which is what I should've done on this chilly November day. I've gotten off track...the food...the corn dog bites were fresh out of the fryer when I got them. Still sizzling hot. Good stuff. Had to resist the urge to not completely fry my tongue, but they were good. The Super Single, the star of today's show, was all right. The Boss Sauce had a nice little kick to it, a welcome surprise from the "secret sauce" at most burger places. I wish the lettuce was a full leaf and not just a handful of shredded. Tomatoes would be a nice touch, but they don't seem to exist anywhere on the menu. The bun, although touted to be made fresh and delivered daily, was just kinda eh. If they toasted and buttered the buns on the griddle, they might have an all out winner. Stars knocked off for the wait time. I get that everything is made to order, and that's cool. But to echo some previous reviews, a small order took over 10 minutes to receive. Also for my soda being more ice than drink. Other than that, they're okay. Yum. It was my first time at Boss Drive In today. I was pleasantly surprised about the spicy Boss sauce - it had a kick but wasn't so spicy that it detracted from the taste of the rest of the burger. I also really enjoyed my corn dog bites. I'll be back to try some other menu items. read more

Convenient drive in burger joint. They have a couple of picnic tables, which ended up being great seating for my family and our dog. Burgers are a couple steps above your average McD's, but a level below 5 Guys. Fries are damn good. Also, they have a nice desert menu - milkshakes, ice cream, sundaes, and my wife's favorite, the deep fried Oreo cookie. It's a nice spot to chill and enjoy a good burger on a budget. read more

I love the crinkle fries (very crispy), love the boss sauce (slightly spicy) and love the milkshakes! They are not greasy, taste fresh, and the bun does not over do the meat, which i personally hate, bun is not soggy it is a drive up restaurant so somewhat throwback, has parking spaces right in front of building. I have never had to wait very long and never had a bad exp with any of the employees. I normally get the "Dub-C" and crinkle fries w a shake. As close as I will get to a "Five Guys" burger without the 25 minute drive. Everyone has there own opinions on burgers, I personally hate all these other burgers like Fatburger or other fast food chains. So for a fast food burger/fries/shakes this is my go to spot! best quality and prices. So upon arriving to this place I had two thoughts in my head; 1. Why is everything so cheap? And 2. God I hope this doesn't suck as much as yelp says it does. Relatively busy but not ridiculous. I ordered the Dub C + bacon, fries and an Oreo blurry. Came to 11 bucks, which was great. The cashier was kind and reccommended the sriracha bacon and honey mustard sauces to me when I asked. Overall wait time was around 15 mins. A little slow for fast food, but acceptable for the quality. The burger was delicious. When you go to places like these you can't expect gourmet. It's a drive in for God's sake! Be reasonable. The patties were nicely cooked, the bacon was generous and the boss sauce was nice and tangy. The fries were seasoned very well and the blurry was a little melted but...well it had oreos in it. Nuff said. The honey mustard sauce was really good but I wasn't a huge fan of the Sriracha bacon sauce. Was a little gimmicky so I shoulda saw it coming. My friend got Bleu cheese sauce for his onion rings (which were also really good) and I put a little on my burger. It was HITTIN. Highly recommended. My only issue (if you can call it that) with this place was the fact that my blurry came a few minutes before my food and was a little bit melted, probably because they use soft serve ice cream. Other than that, I had a good experience and will certainly be back. Tl;Dr: Great prices, good burgers and fries, still ironing out a few kinks servicewise but definitely worth a visit for the prices and convenience of the location. Found this place trough Zagat. Drove 20-30' from North Seattle, had a craving for good burger. After ordering Big Hog ( cause number of people recommended ), Dub-C, fries, siracha/bacon hot sauce and Burger Boss signature sauce. Let me start with the guys that work there - WONDERFUL great attitude, helpful - silly me did not had any cash on me told them SORRY would love to leave them a TIP but had no cash they were so COOL about it. Will go back soon and will remind myself to bring some cash!!!! Burgers were above average has some personality to them would give them 4 for overall. Fries after driving back from the BB 20-30' to my house they stayed nice and crisp and some mess and with specialty sauces that they had it was good. I liked the spicy bacon sauce. Very affordable and tastes better then your average burger place. All my order was $13+ and it was more then enough for me, could not finish in one sit. It's frustrating when you get to the bottom of the fry bag and no more ketchup or a 5 minute wait to may 40 cents for more ketchup to enjoy your last few fries. I am hooked on the DubC with added bacon and is my reason for the 3stars. This most recent visit sucked! 20 min wait for my order which was a dub c with added bacon, tub fries and a small banana shake that I received 15 mins before the rest of my order. I got home within 5 mins of receiving my order to find a barely warm burger but with good flavor and the fries really did suck this time and seemed over cooked and COLD as can be not even warm and with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever unlike last time when they were much too salty. First impression: decent and not-too-expensive burger joint. Definitely nice to have one in the area. I find the burger quality and taste to be comparable to Dick's, so if you know that joint, this should give you an idea of what BB is like. I have not had delays with orders like some of the other reviews here, having been there several times. So I'm not sure it's the universal experience, or a rare occasional thing. Very friendly, quick, accurate service. Great milkshakes. The OK: boss sauce is spicier than I expected. We were psyched when they opened but after giving them four chances, we are done. It's fine if you're hungry, but have plenty of time to wait, and don't care about friendly service, and aren't calling in an order for someone else to pick up. Which is a bummer since it's convenient for us on nights we want to quickly grab burgers to take home. It's the "quickly" that's been an issue. But their prep time is sllllllooooow, and when I called ahead this time, in advance of my husband driving by to pick up, they refused to accept the order unless it was more than $30 (how am I supposed to know until I've ordered.) and I could prepay. I was happy to prepay, not knowing the total, until they said if someone else was picking it up he'd have to present ID for the card used. I have been a customer since this placed opened and have always had good service and good food. Today was different. Today I was disappointed in the service. The girl working the pick up window needs some serious customer service training. She jumped from order 44 to 48. She advance the number system to 48 and then back to 47 leaving 45, 46 and 47 to wonder if they missed something. Each of us came up to the window to check. She told each of us in sort of snotty tone that our food was not ready. When my order came up she still had to make the cone I ordered. There was hardly any ice cream on it for starters. Then, since I am alone and have to drive safely home, I asked if she could put the cone in a drink cup. I got a huge eye roll!!! She put it in a plastic cup which was not what I ask for and then proceeded to tell me that next time I need to let the cashier know because they charge $0.50 for the plastic cups? I have always asked for a cup and have never had a problem. There is no information anywhere indicating a charge for a plastic or drink cup. If there is I would like to know where. She said 'she doesn't make the rules'. Really??? What a little snot! Perhaps this isn't the right job for her.......? read more

Overall Burger Boss is a great spot to stop for a quick, cheap and pretty darn good burger or a great place to stop with the kids or after a long day at work. The girls working inside could have been cheerier, none of them were smiling and or especially friendly but they were fast and efficient as well as accommodating to special requests.The food was yummy and came out pretty fast. I got a Dub-C cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, bacon and cheddar cheese and it was great. I also got a side of onion rings that were battered golden crisp to perfection and were really good and cheap too. The crinkle fries have a special seasoning salt that is pretty tasty too. The music was bumping outside of the drive up as we waited for our burgers. The food came out within ten minutes and we were very satisfied with this new burger spot! Went on a Saturday around 11:30 am. Had the Cowboy burger my son recommended. Burger was room temp when I ate it ( after eating some fries first), and there was little barbecue sauce flavor. Fries were generous if unremarkable thick crinkle-cut. Was offered sauce...but nowhere near enough. Strawberry lemonade was probably the highlight.
