Hot Mess (bottom) and custom burger (top)

For a popular burger joint, it's expensive for what it is and underwhelming. The chips are stale and it's barely customizable. More flashy with its excessive ingredients that it's hard to taste individual components. A custom burger is also more expensive than the standard ones offered ($14 at minimum for just the meat). Service is alright. My burger had cheese but they forgot it and then they brought me a plate with two slices of cold cheese. Ambiance is rustic with booths and high top chairs/booths. 4/10 food overall. I wouldn't recommend it

I once had a veggie burger here from a catered event. It was not very clear to me whether the veggie burger and bun were vegan or not, but my guess is that they are. The burger and fries were decent, probably much better at the restaurant.

I came here for dinner and had a great time. This casual spot offers a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other small bites. Service here is pretty quick and very attentive. I got their ranch BLT (with the ranch on the side) and chips were also included. It was delicious but I just wish that the bacon strips were a bit bigger. Chips were also salted nicely but weren't very crispy. Overall, not a bad spot for a casual burger.

    Alpine Burger, chips & coleslaw

Sat at the bar and enjoyed a burger and a beer with my daughter before a game at Fenway. Plenty of good choices on the menu. I had the Alpine which is a burger topped with garlic Parmesan mushrooms and Swiss cheese. It came out rare, as I had ordered it. The roll was fresh. The house made chips were yummy. I ordered coleslaw which was standard. I enjoyed a pint of The Substance from Bissell Brothers. All good. Service was very good. No complaints. They have #Freakfrappes on the menu, which we did not get. They are absolutely huge! Glad we stopped by.

Great burger spot right near Fenway. My mom and I came for the Boston marathon and needed something quick and delicious. Service was fast and the food was delicious.

Beautiful fall day. Sit outside and watch all the music students walking to class. The Buffalo burger. Melted blue cheese on top and smothered with franks hot sauce. The burger is big, and the sauce will drip down your arm. Home made crunchy chips. And the Boston beans are wonderful. Overall a solid burger and awesome place to be.

Service was great! I got a gluten free bun on my burger, which I was glad they had! Unfortunately, it was fairly dry and crumbled. The moisture that was in my burger was quickly soaked up into the bun leaving an unpleasant dry burger with hints of balsamic and great flavors pulling through. I'm fairly certain that Hamilton, our server noticed that I was not eating and asked but I declined to elaborate as I was honestly happy to find did I could eat and he was so helpful! I was warned of cross contamination of fries (I appreciated that heads up) and accepted that risk as long as they were not battered or coated; unfortunately upon arrival, they were coated. Hubby really enjoyed his burger and the shakes looked incredible! The chips were really good!! I was sad that the beans were what I'll remember Boston Beans as, I'll make my own back in Arizona...

We accidentally showed up before they even opened (classic us), but instead of shooing us away they let us sit inside with ice-cold water. MVP move. Service was solid the whole meal -- just took a little longer to cash out at the end. I got the Killer Bee burger and wow... it was messy, sweet, spicy, crunchy, cheesy -- basically everything you want in a burger. And yes, I actually finished it. My son made his own creation loaded with veggies and demolished the whole thing too. The only heartbreak? No room left for one of their outrageous Freakfrappes. They looked ridiculous in the best way. Next time, I'm starting with dessert.

    Kids Mac & Cheese Bites

I brought my kids to BBCo after a trip to the MFA. There was something for everyone, which was perfect. My kids liked their meals although my son wasn't crazy about the cheese in the Mac & cheese bites. Not sure what they used, but they weren't his favorite. The other kids meals - the grilled cheese and cheeseburger were good, zero complaints. And all the kids liked the chips. The chicken caprese sandwich was excellent! The flavors melded well together and the chicken was juicy. It usually comes with chips but I declined them. We had to round out with one of the giant frappes. The kids devoured it in about 30 seconds. I managed to get a sip and a taste, and can confirm that it tastes as good as it looked. My only complaint about the whole lunch was that service is slow. It was two hours from sit down to leaving and we could've done it in an hour easily. Our waiter was incredibly busy, working the bar seating and tables - I can't fault him. I'm not sure if it's staffing, but the guy could have used some help.

    Sampler Hot Mess

We were greeted and seated quickly. Drink and appetizer order was taken within minutes and our drinks were on the table less than 3 minutes later! The food: Sampler appetizer, Hot Mess Burger, and Boston Burger were amazing. I have nothing but positives to say about this place!

We came back because the food was awesome. They weren't too busy, but I'm sure it was because of the freezing cold. But the service was honestly horrible. We were sat past the kitchen window where a few staff members all hung out on their phones. Our server finally came over to get our drink orders, and we asked for a couple minutes to decide. The server did not come back over for well over 15 minutes, and I tried to get his attention but he avoided contact and just kept checking his phone. Him taking our food order was the last time we saw him until after we were done with our food. Our app came out and then the burgers right after. Again the food is amazing, and for the first time we got the frappes. The holy cannoli was amazing. The place has a great vibe, and kept really clean. I totally suggest this place for the food. I'm hoping that the service was just a fluke for the night.

    Wicked Hot Burger
    Sean P.

I'll start by saying that the service was terrible. Our waitress took a long time for every single thing and was standing around chitchatting most of the time. There were only about 3 tables with people, so when you are waiting 10 minutes to order, it's a bit frustrating. However, the food was very good. The garlic parm fries were solid, and the Wicked Hot burger was right up my alley with great flavor! I'd highly recommend it, and it's not overly spicy for those who might worry. This is probably more like a 3.5-star due to the service being so bad, but I'll still keep it as a 4 on here (due to limitations) because the burger was overall really good.

    Brandon N.

I have never had anything bad here. Sadly I usually eat it all before remembering to take photos. The only think I haven't tried is the massive sundaes but I'm sure if you have a sweet tooth it's good. Every time I go to Boston I try to figure out a way to bring this home.

Ask the Community - Boston Burger

Looking at going at 5pm on Saturday before the 7pm Red Sox/Yankees game. Do you think the wait will be long?

My son and I have a ritual to eat at Boston Burger before every Red Sox game that we attend. We recently went to a Sunday afternoon game that was PACKED at Fenway and we ended up going to Boston Burger after the game and it was busy but they still…

    Do they do reservation?

Yeah kinda. Add name in advance of visit to wait list via website.

How long is the wait on a Saturday night around 5:00 p.m.?

Use the Yelp waitlist! We went on a Saturday night and I believe the wait was about 45 minutes but with the Yelp waitlist, we didn't wait long at the restaurant.

    Is it gluten free?

There are gluten free options. I believe you can get the burgers wrapped in lettuce if you want also.

Food was amazing- so please know I would absolutely go back for the food! We had lobster bisque, the best Caesar salad (top 5), calm chowder, shrimp and clams, lamb and a fillet. During our meal just after the lovely table side service of the lobster bisque my son accidentally moved the table with his feet and the drinks flew into my food. Our server watched it happen and walked away. She turned not to help but out of disgust walked the other way! The food runner came to the rescue! I don't know but when your at fine dining and you get double charged for a table moving and treated like you are an inconvenience that gets me. Plus she was clearly angry with us. You can immediately tell this place takes pride in what they do, especially when you see the chefs in action. While the kitchen delivered a solid meal, the service was so profoundly disappointing that it completely overshadowed the food. The culinary side of things easily earns a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered a wide variety of items to share, and the highlights included: * The Pizzas: Creative flavor combinations with fresh, high-quality toppings and fantastic crusts. * The Bucatini Pasta: Perfectly cooked and packed with rich flavor. * The Asparagus Appetizer & The Chicken Milanese: Both executed well, flavorful, and cooked to a high standard. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience was uniformly horrible. For a large party, hospitality can make or break the night, and our server missed the mark at every single turn: * Argumentative & Dismissive: He actively argued with our host regarding an appetizer that had been ordered in advance. When asked about vegetarian substitutions for a sold-out pasta dish, he curtly replied, "Pasta with butter is all we can do"--despite the fact that we could clearly see a wide variety of fresh vegetables being used right on their pizzas. * Inattentive: Dirty dishes piled up on our table, and when we politely asked for them to be cleared, he claimed he needed to get help and walked away completely empty-handed. Our drink orders were rarely checked on or refilled. * Rude to Guests: He displayed visible attitude and put-off body language whenever anyone asked a simple question. This peaked when he was outright rude to one of the young women in our party who simply wanted to put her order in a bit early because she had to leave before the rest of the group. It is a real shame because the ingredients and the kitchen's output are genuinely good. However, between the hostile attitude and the lack of basic service standards, we unfortunately won't be rushing back.

Our server introduced herself and took our drink order. My wife had a tropical Negroni, and I ordered a Vieux Carré. The drinks were generously sized and well made. We ordered our meals. We started with Burrata Toast and Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were placed on a covered plate to contain the smoke. The presentation was only eclipsed by the oysters' flavor. The burrata toast was large enough to share between the four of us. The presentation was also beautiful, and the flavors were superb. Our entrees included: herb-crusted halibut, steak frites, the signature 1928 burger, and a gorgeous short rib with some fabulous crispy Brussels sprouts. We shared a single Sticky coffee pudding for dessert. All I can say is that the food and libations were superb, and the service was superb. One of the best dining experiences we have had. Already thinking about our next visit!

Any dining establishment can be charming with the right outward appearance. The food and staff add a soul to Ma Maison. And it is wonderful to be in this brassiere's dining room. The simple salad contained the best tomatoes, greens crisp at the right temperature delicious house dressing and do get the goat cheese. Scallops were fantastic, browned perfectly, mussels were delicious. Also ordered escargot. Bread was the freshest and made on premises. Fries are real French fries, delicious. We ate a lunch here but more like our main meal of the day.

Probably highlight of the meal 2. French Onion Soup. 1/5. Not good at all. Very watered down. The broth was basically lightly seasoned water. Cheese topping lacked flavor. This was very disappointing for a French restaurant. 3. Mussels. 4/5. These were fresh and came with standard sauces. 4. Coq Au vin with pasta. 3/5 Came out hot but seasoning felt off and didn't quite it the mark. Service was good and it's in a cute spot. But Overall, disappointment with our food and wouldn't repeat.

I saw the steak tips listed as on Boston's list of best steak tips spots. I have tried others on…read morethe list and wanted to give Tip Tap room a try. I ordered a draft beer from a large selection of drafts and bottle, cans options. It was Jack Abbey beer... pint came 3/4 full as left a large head on beer and better for establishment pours 12-14 oz in a 16 oz glass.. Beer was warm... bad demerit again Ordered steak tips which came with three large tips on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach . It had some sour hot nasty pepper garnish.. I wanted roasted red or green peppers with the tips instead. Steak tips were just ok and needed a marinate or side of a dipping bbq sauce or mushroom sauce or anything. Spinach, mashed potatoes needed more butter or garlic flavoring... fresh tasting but bland. Needs more steak tips too for the price tag. It was a nice bar vibe for drinks. The chicken wing lollipops I saw for an appetizer looked tasty. I left hungry for more steak tips and wanted a charcoal char on my tips . I wanted my spinach on the side with a garlic oil next to sone grilled oil drizzled roasted peppers . I don't consider these some of Boston best but certainly not the worst .

I ordered the steak frites cooked to a perfect medium with a deep, salty crust. It was tender enough to melt but had that essential beefy bite. The sauce was silky and sharp, tying the whole plate together without overpowering the meat. Overall a cool nice place to come enjoy dinner or sit at the bar to have a drink.
