Teeny weeny steak, 2-ingredient salad and fries of dubious origin.

Nice space, generally good food but DO NOT order the steak frites. TINY steak on half a piece of soggy toast with ok fries and a tiny simple (extremely simple) salad. $35.50. My bad that I didn't read that it was 4 oz but I would have paid more to have an actual meal, rather than a piece of meat roughly the size of half a hamburger, and a pile of fries that mayyyy have been hand cut and fried in duck fat, but maybe not, since they were pretty unexceptional. The server put the plate down in front of me and I guess I couldn't conceal my shock as I gazed down on the lil scrap of steak. According to my dining companion, the server shot me a filthy look and rolled her eyes at my expression of confusion and disbelief. Oh how I WISH I had seen that. The waiter came by and I asked him about the oddity and he seemed apologetic and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. No thanks, it was a live and learn moment. And I learned I won't be ordering steak frites from Monsieur Earl again. Edit: I'm having lunch at Stephanie's on Newbury street and I'm eating the most delicious simple salad ever... Boston lettuce with a light, citrusy dressing. It just drives home how sad, chintzy and lazy my Earl's meal was. And it was sold as an entree, to be clear. They should be embarrassed to serve it. If they can't do it right, they should take it off of the menu.

Been here so many times and always great service and food. Great space and rooftop bar outside is nice. They also have a small bar downstairs. When I'm at the Pru and want to grab something good and sit and relax. I've had almost everything on the menu, all of it fresh. Had a quick lunch there the other day with a friend and had the Cobb salad with added steak. My friend had the salad with salmon. Both were fresh and tasty.

We had a lovely experience eating and drinking this week at the downstairs bar at Earl's. The bartender Jason was so sweet and helpful. Thanks also to the kind hostess Sharleen! There were happy hour food specials too!

Came in on the Saturday night of the Boston marathon. Needless to say the place was packed with a lot of fit, skinny people carb loading . Great views of the local sports on tv.

Fantastic visit! Food was fantastic and the drinks were perfectly balanced. Excellent vibe and the staff was friendly and struck a great balance between being attentive and giving space. Omar was a fantastic server and knowledgeable of the menu. Decor was beautiful. Will absolutely be back soon. I always like to note as well how a business treats solo diners and Earl's really hit the mark. Didn't feel any less attended to than people with a group which really does make a huge difference and is not always the case! Tiny tiny nitpicks that wouldn't cause me to knock a star but to be of note, was given a couple of utensils (chopsticks and to go containers) that were a little dirty and the wait time on the first drink was long. But overall excellent experience. :)

The atmosphere was amazing a perfect mix of breeze and sun. Our server Kem was sweet and attentive. She was very accommodating to our special requests. And the food was great. We will be back again! Thanks Kem!

I was so pleasantly surprised with my experience at Earls. The poke bowl was amazing ! One my favorite ones I've had. I would definitely recommend it. The Cobb salad was also very good, and hearty enough for a meal. The truffle fries were good very cheesy but I loved that it came with an aïoli. Also had the spicy marg and it was very good not very strong.

Grateful for earls as it turned out to be the best meal we had while we were in Boston. It is hard to find a place everyone agrees on but earls has something for everyone. We were greeted with a taste of champagne and seated quickly. The vibe was great and the service was even better. Ela was attentive and had an infectious smile and personality. We ordered pasta, birria tacos, dumplings, steak frites and crispy tuna. The flavors were AMAZING! Wish we had one of these back home in Naples.

Upbeat atmosphere and a nice treat yourself escape from the hustle of Prudential Center - the place for a couple of apps to share and cocktails. It's a nice space with lots of booth and high table options, and even bar and open kitchen seating for solo diners or smaller parties. Some downsides were that the pasta wasn't as hot as we would've liked but still had some flavor. We added protein to the Caesar Salad but was not expecting a $16 surcharge - note that a "half" portion is $8 (only written as 'Chicken' +$8 on the menu) and "full" is $16. We also had the option to choose a Cajun seasoned chicken vs. regular which didn't seem to have an up charge.

Eva's is located inside the Prudential Center and features a beautiful ambiance. We were seated at the indoor patio area with marble tables, plenty of greenery, and clear windows that made the space feel like a classy greenhouse, chic yet relaxed. However, I wish my appreciation for the atmosphere extended to the food and service as well. I visited with a couple of friends, and we ordered the steak + truffle tortellini, steak + sushi (wagyu beef press), and eggs benedict. My steak and truffle tortellini wasn't bad. The steak was cooked well and the tortellini had a nice, soft texture, but the sauce had a very tart flavor that became overwhelming after a few bites. The steak and sushi was also a miss. The sauce was so salty that it drowned out the other flavors. Unfortunately, the service didn't help. We saw our server once when taking our order, and it was difficult to flag anyone down afterward. By the time someone finally came over, we were nearly finished eating, which made it feel a bit pointless. I really wanted to love this place. The setting is gorgeous, but between the uneven food and slow service, it just missed the mark for me. I'd come back for drinks or the vibe, but probably not for a full meal.

Earls in the mall in Boston really surprised me--in the best way. You don't usually expect a fine dining atmosphere in a mall, but the modern chic décor, cozy booths, and gold embellishments gave it an upscale vibe right away. One note: while I love a good booth, it was a bit odd that large parties (like ours) were squeezed into one. Six work colleagues in a booth made for some cramped dining--probably better suited for smaller groups. That said, the food was impressive and memorable. My spaghetti with shrimp and scallops was spot-on, and the seafood was cooked to perfection. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals and had only good things to say. But what really stood out was the service. Our waitress was incredible--thoughtful, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and funny. She absolutely elevated the whole experience. Overall, a great night out with delicious food and outstanding service--just maybe request a table instead of a booth if you're rolling deep.

The service is a bit slow but there is only one person down here serving. I've been waiting for 20 minutes just to pay my bill. The menu is kind of interesting, I ended up having a fish tacos and they were pretty good.

    Korean Beef Bibimbap
    Robert H.

I had a lovely dinner at Earls - my server Juan was superb and very helpful, and I really liked the vibe. My steak biimbap had a nice spicy sauce and was just like I enjoy it at good Korean restaurants. In the Pru it is a nice option.

Earls Kitchen + Bar Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Earls Kitchen + Bar

    Is parking validated?

    It is not.

What time is Happy Hour on weekdays ? Website says 2-5pm M-F but I remember it as 3-6pm. I just want to clarify. Thank you!

Can you accommodate table for 8 ? Preferably round.

Does Earls still do brunch happy hour Sundays from open to noon?

Yes, they still do happy hour brunch from open to noon on the weekends!

Does the outdoors seating have heater for warmth in winter?

Nah really but why would you sit out there lolz Just wait for summer being inside is way better…

Do you have to be 21 to hangout in the outdoor bar area? Looking to celebrate my 21st here, but not all of my friends are of age yet.

When is weekend brunch happy hour?

Best to check the website for kitchen times. Brunch not specified on either day and no Happy Hour on Saturday. Sunday Happy Hour menu is 9:00 PM to close.

Are jackets required for gentlemen and at the other end of the spectrum are shorts allowed?

I sat at the upstairs bar, but the restaurant appeared casual to me. Some men wore jackets but they didn't seem to be required. I didn't see anyone wearing shorts there, but I was in jeans at the inside bar area--so causal dress should be acceptable.

Tried to make a reservation for Friday dinner through their website but there is no table available for reservation. Do they preserve some tables for walk-in customers?

Seating is first come first serve. If you come later - maybe 8:30 - the wait should not be long.

What time does the kitchen close on weekends?

    full menu up to 2am

Does it accept discover credit card?

Yes, I believe I used mine there

Is this a cool/fun ambience to turn 21 at the bar?

Absolutely! It's a really fun, modern place and usually has a pretty energetic vibe. Have fun!

Hi there, I may have lost my wallet last night, and when I tried calling the restaurant, I was left on hold for 15+ minutes with no answer. Is there a better number to call?

No. Suggest you call just before they open. The place is a real zoo (as you know). Otherwise, good to go back.

Could a group of 12-15 gather here just for drinks (before an event) Sat 6-7p, or would we have to eat?

I think your best bet is the downstairs bar. Expect the entire rest/bar to be full at that time. Besides the crowd issue, you've also got to be concerned that the noise level is very high and it may be difficult to hear each other. You might want…

On Sunday is it just a brunch menu or is it both?

Hi Connor, On Sundays from 10am to 3pm it is full menu plus the brunch menu. Then at 3pm it goes to only full menu (no brunch).…

Should I make a reservation for my upcoming birthday it will be on a Thursday evening around 6pm and about 7 or 8 people or do a walk in?

It's best to make a reservation. This place gets packed

    Are there vegan friendly options?

Hi there, this is Jeff, the Assistant Chef. We have several vegan options with slight modifications from our kitchen. We have a list in-house of what can be made vegan and how to do so which the servers will be happy to help you with. If you stop…

We tried the spiced watermelon, fried sweet plantains and smoked pork ribs, along with some beers and cocktails. The spiced watermelon had a big kick, which made it a little too much for me. The spot itself is cute and has a nice vibe, but overall, I wasn't super impressed with the food. It was a decent experience but it wouldn't be my first choice to return to if I was in Boston.

My order of yogurt with fruit and granola was fresh, filling and a yummy beginning to my day. My coffee was equally enjoyed, and note that it's $13 for each small coffee pot. Refills are not complimentary. I loved my window table on this rainy morning, and the lovely, cozy ambiance of The Street Bar. It's easy to see why this is such a sought after bar each evening.

In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.

You have to enter the building with a small fox picture, go down a set of stairs and check in at the counter of said restaurant before they lead you into the back where the speakeasy is. The menu is "set" in that they have a particular cuisine focus for the night and the four food dishes are predetermined as well as the first drink. That being said, you get to order three more drinks from their cocktail menu that range from lighter to more spirit forward, ending with more dessert type cocktails. All the drink flavors were so unique and a fun twist. The food was actually very substantial. Good flavors as well. Our favorite dishes were the lamb cigars (large egg roll shape with eggplant and spices) and the whole branzino. Everything was good though. Service was a very friendly and they were open about the fact that if you didn't like a drink they'd make you another one.

Its a 2 hour experience with 4 drinks, 3 food courses and a dessert. You definitely wont be hungry after. Highly recommend for a date night.
