This is a really nice place for some daytime ramen and cocktails during their Happy Hour. We left full and satisfied. They had some really cool Japanese inspired cocktails that really hit the spot. My fiancée started off with a lychee dreamy nigori and I had the kuro kirishima raisin. The lychee was perfectly balanced between sweetness, alcohol and lychee flavor. For my drink, I can't put my finger on why, but it just wasn't for me, which is okay because I just wanted to try something new. I ended up ordering a yuzu dreamy nigori after that, which was phenomenal. For food, my fiancée ordered a pork bun and the spicy miso ramen and I got some edamame and the vegetarian ramen with spicy paste added. My fiancée absolutely loved her ramen and pork bun. The bun was meaty, sweet and delicious. Her ramen was bursting with different flavors. My edamame was alright. It was unsalted so it wasn't as great as it could have been, unfortunately. My ramen was also just alright. It seemed like both the vegetables and tofu were just thrown on top of the ramen without any seasoning or anything. They could have at least stewed in the soup a bit because they just tasted raw and flavorless, which really stood out in a bad way in the broth. The broth was also a bit strange because it seemed like they threw the spicy paste at the bottom and didn't try to mix it into the broth. My fiancée's ramen was noticeably spicier than mine, until I got to the bottom of the bowl, then all I could taste was the spice. Cute and quiet place with good customer service. Cute dishes and utensils with booths and tables. As for the food - I'm not sure if I will come back for what I got. This was my first "real" ramen experience and maybe I'm just use to the overly salty preserved fake stuff but it's not what I was expecting. The broth was good and I liked the texture of the noodles but after a while, eating it became bland and boring. The pork didn't have any flavor either which I was most excited for. Overall i think my experience was alright and if a friend invited me I'd come back and try something different. I got the ramen and gyoza combo. I highly recommend their tonkatsu Ramen. Broth was fully flavored and creamy (yum)! The noodles tasted great and not to mention the pork melts in your mouth. Great ramen. Ask for low sodium and you'll get low sodium without compromising the flavor of the broth. The egg is soft broiled as it should. The noodle is freshly made. I also tried the rice bowl. We ordered a couple of the ramen combos available on weekends. They have some that are only weekday lunch. The tonkotsu broth was tasty, noodles had good texture. I'm always a little bummed when my egg is refrigerator cold but it happens. We also had the pork belly buns. If it's on the menu I order it! It wasn't bad just different than what I prefer. I ordered through grubhub and my order not only got delayed 2 times(not by the driver) but when it arrived, the food was cold, and the noodles were in a giant hard clump. We came in just before 3pm on a weekday and it was empty. Not the most popular time to eat. Running an errand off island and taking advantage of good city food while we can. Boyyy, this was DELICIOUS. We got the pork belly buns (first time for that and WOW, GOOD), and two lunch special combos. So much food. So very very delicious. The ramen noodles are thinner that what we make at home but the flavor is all spot on (husband just returned from months away in Japan and he confirms the YUM). I would say it's a hard no for me and here's why: 1. Really gross bathrooms connected to a freezing cold hallway with a rug that blocks the door from being able to fully open. 2. Lots of chatting in the kitchen that can be heard word for word while customers are ignored. 3. Service is lackluster. Pretty much the bare minimum to get food ordered and checkout after waits on both. 4. Floors are so slippery in the restaurant, greased up from something. 5. Food portion is small Good Stuff 1. Food was delicious and surprised me given service and deplorable restroom 2. Menu offerings are nice and have great presentation. All in all it's a no for me, better service needed, cleaner restrooms and degrease or replace your flooring. Best ramen place up north! All the other ramen places that are up north are okay to disappointing. I'm so happy there's finally a good one up here! I got the boozy matcha drink, karaage, soft shell crab, pork buns and spicy miso seafood ramen. They drink was super tasty, it was the perfect blend of matcha and alcohol. After a long delay and waiting for a friend and his Japanese wife to go try them and report back we tried it after work. Other than the soup not being blistering, burn the mouth hot the ramen was pretty darn good. I prefer molten lava for my ramen as thats he way I've always had it. Heard this place recently opened; as big fans of ramen, we couldn't wait to try it. We both got the tonkatsu ramen, and it did not disappoint. The broth was very rich and exactly what you'd want and expect. My wife got a combo that included gyoza which was also very good. I did the build your own ramen which was something I hadn't seen before. I really liked the idea of picking and choosing exactly what I want. This is one of the best I been too. I can honestly say it is a must visit. The staff was friendly and very tentative from the moment I Walked in. First Impression is spotless! Everything looks fresh from the tables to the floor and the decorations. The food is phenomenal. I am currently eating the traditional Tonkastu, and it is just what it is named traditional and reminds me of the days I spent in Japan. Literally ate to the bottom of the bowl. What's better than some hot delicious ramen on a rainy cold day? My friends and I were in downtown Everett playing some pool and found out about Botan Ramen that was down the street so we decided to check it out before it closed for the night! Outside building was really nice, and when you walk inside, it gets even better! There was a cherry blossom tree for decorate and it felt like you were in Japan because of the traditional decor that they used inside. It wasn't a busy night so we were able to get seats really quick. It took a while for our ramen to come out because there was a miscommunication with the workers but they let us know what had happen and offered us sodas on the house and I thought that was really nice of them because it showed they cared about their customers. We ordered a lot of food, we had different appetizers and they were all pretty good, the pork belly sliders were a little bit too salty and I think it was because the sauce that they put in but other than that the bun was soft and the pork belly was crispy and soft. I got the "I'm Starving" Combo, which came with a bowl of Tonkatsu Ramen, side of gyoza, a side of soft boil egg to put in the ramen, and a bowl of rice with shredded pork! And all that was just $20, I think that was a great deal because you get a lot of food and it was delicious too! The soup was super rich and full of flavor, ramen was cooked perfectly and the pork chashu was soft and not rubbery at all. Lastly, the customer service was great! Wish I got their names but both of the server was great! They were super nice and treated us well. They made sure we were doing okay and that we had our water refilled. They also had conversations with us and I really think that's a plus if you can do that with your customers. Overall, this ramen place was fantastic and if you need some hot delicious ramen to warm you up and don't want to drive super far towards south then check this place out! You won't regret it! Tonight i stopped in with my family for some Ramen as we just saw this pop up with a hot and new alert in yelp, and who are we to not try a new ramen stop?! I ordered the gyoza and ramen and my fiancée ordered the spicy ramen. Hers was fine.. nothing special, but mine was actually really good. The broth was very flavorful and there was a great amount of noodles as well. Kids ramen was just noodles and broth, good enough for them... The gyoza was fried well and the beer i had was served very cold and wasn't too badly priced at $8 for a 22oz We also tried the pork belly buns and they were fantastic as well. My family and I went to the Everett Food Truck Festival awhile back, and didn't love any of the trucks enough to wait in the crazy lines, so came here instead. The waitress was very friendly and personable. The restaurant is gorgeous and we appreciated how kid-friendly they were. When my friends and I saw a ramen bar was going in this space, we were excited, but nervous. It's easy to get ramen wrong, especially in this area, and I hadn't had a good bowl since I moved from California. I'm very pleased to say this place blew my expectations out of the water! Ramen is the key item on the menu, and it's always a good sign when a restaurant focuses on it. The tonkotsu broth is delightfully creamy, rich, and flavorful! The chashu is tender in all the right places! The egg is perfect! From my very first bowl, I was hooked and have gone back many times. The presentation is excellent. The food comes out looking very appetizing and the atmosphere is perfect. It has the traditional Japanese feel with a modern twist. There's a big cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant, what a beautiful centerpiece! I especially like eating in the booths, it provides a traditional and intimate experience. Who doesn't like to be comfortable on top of eating delicious food? In summary, I'm so glad Botan came to town, this restaurant is a blessing!
