    Amazing

The rolls were amazing! Off a recommendation I grabbed my son from UCI and got sushi! The place looked very comfy and welcoming. The staff was very nice. I couldn't tell what kind of Aslan they were but I decided to give this place a try. I ordered 3 rolls and it came out fast! To my surprise it was delicious. I ate every bite. For the negative though, the wasabi was not hot. I needed more spice in my life. That's what my ex said. And the water they served was not cold to my liking. It was a hot day outside and refreshing water would have been nice. However, the food was really good. You can see from the pictures.

We decided to stop by right before we did some grocery shopping at albertsons. Pretty nice spot, spacious and clean. Service was okay. We had to ask for some miso soup twice & we didnt get our drinks until after we were almost done with our food. I asked for boba on mine and didnt get any. I checked the receipt after we paid and got charged for the boba. We got 2 rolls (las vegas fried & volcano baked roll) and they were pretty good. Coffee was good too.

First impression, ambiance is beautiful very female forward with floral and well lite. It was a bit too hot, as if no AC was on. Food was average, ordered a few rolls of sushi and didn't finish them. My girl said one of hers was fishy , mine were alright. She also ordered a chicken and rice dish, which was lack luster in flavor and not crispy. Her milk tea was basically all milk, boba was hard and crunchy. Service was decent, waitress seemed to assume we didn't know how to eat sushi and disuadid us from ordering more. Which was fine because food was alright. I wish them success and hope they can correct the issues.

Super good. I highly recommend this place, is authentic sushi. The waiters are super nice

Great Sushi spot that's really close to UCI, their portions are super generous and their prices are fair. One of the only AYCE sushi places that offer sashimi as part of their normal menu. I had lunch there and the fish to rice ratio was amazing. The atmosphere was super cute there and their service was amazing. They also have a coffee store in house which serves great drinks. I recommend their Grapefruit Jasmine Frappe. I would definitely come back here whenever I have the chance.

Service has always been slow and unfriendly but now the offerings are slim and the quality has gone down. Sashimi is no longer served like my previous photo. So much rice on the rolls that the seaweed didn't close and each piece fell apart! The restaurant is empty and it took forever for us to receive our order. Will not be back!

What a fun space! Well decorated with lights and flowers hanging from then ceiling . We ordered the Pacific platter which was delicious. It came with five Nigiri and four pieces of either the UCI or the Hawaii roll. We also ordered a rainbow roll. Loved everything here, except the miso soup which was a bit watered down. Parking is super easy in the lot out front. It's right between Albertsons and Wells Fargo. Will definitely return! Will

A hidden gem for Japanese food near UCI! I absolutely love the décor here--it's elegant, romantic, and makes dining such a pleasant experience. It's great for a family meal with kids, but also perfect for a girls' night out or a date. Here's what we tried and loved Sashimi Platter: Salmon, tuna, yellowtail, sweet shrimp... thick cuts, super fresh, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Hawaiian Roll: Shrimp tempura, eel, crunchy tempura flakes--every bite was a surprise! Salmon Hand Roll: Flavorful sauce and plenty of salmon--must-try for salmon lovers. Unagi Rice Bowl: The eel was cut into a star shape (so cute and unique!) with generous toppings. A great choice if dining solo. Appetizers: Crispy fried tofu, edamame, and sweet potato fries--our kids couldn't stop eating them! You can order à la carte or go for the all-you-can-eat option: * À la carte is more refined, perfect for a light meal. * AYCE is the way to go if you're really hungry! Kids under 3 eat free Ages 3-12: $19.95 ‍ 12+ years: Weekday lunch $34.95, dinner & weekends $39.95 The food is plated beautifully--Instagram-worthy shots with zero effort. Even when dining with kids, you'll walk away with some gorgeous photos. Overall: Botan Sushi not only serves fresh and delicious food, but also offers a cozy, romantic, and family-friendly atmosphere. Definitely one of the best choices near UCI for group gatherings or date nights. Can't wait to come back with friends!

California Roll, Rainbow Roll, Alaska Roll, A Plus Roll, ICHI Roll, Takoyaki, Miso Soup and Tiramisu Egg Custard Tart tasted great. Takeout quality was excellent. Everything was neatly packed and held together well. Definitely a nice option when you're craving sushi at home.

Lovely and spacious sushi restaurant with great service. I found a social media discount deal that we took advantage of today. I was trying to decide between a handful of delicious rolls, and I decided to go with the Hawaiian one with a perfect amount of spicy with jalepeno. I look forward to trying more!

Good late night sushi spot. The service was excellent, the ordering system was efficient and the workers were kind. They gave us some free apple juice and calpico while we were waiting for our order! Very aesthetic interior with a lot of tables. I enjoyed the hawaii roll, ocean breeze roll, and umi delight roll. I usually am very strongly against cream cheese in sushi but the jalapeño complemented it perfectly. I ordered the UCI roll because zot zot zot but unfortunately it was my least favorite roll. The sweet potato and the asparagus are just not very appealing as sushi ingredients in my opinion. The miso soup tasted like water, I've never seen such clear miso broth. Maybe it's because we came right before closing, i'm sure they would have replaced it if I asked but I didn't want to bother them after last call.

I have been ordering here almost weekly for several years and I think I'm finally done. The prices keep going up, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. The rolls are inconsistent from week to week. I really hate this because it's close to our house it was really good at one point, and sometimes still is. It's too expensive to be this inconsistent. The sashimi in this photo was $20 for 6 pieces and they are tiny. They used to be much bigger and cheaper.

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. Massive, juicy thigh meat with a shattering, thin crust and that addictive spicy mayo on the side. * Customization: I loved that they let you pick your noodle firmness. "Hard" was the only way to go to ensure that perfect snap with every bite. The Atmosphere The Costa Mesa location always had a great energy--functional, clean, and unpretentious. The staff were always efficient, greeting everyone with a loud "Irasshaimase!" that made the experience feel truly authentic. It's heartbreaking to see such a high-caliber spot leave the neighborhood. If you were lucky enough to eat here, you know we lost a heavy hitter. To the team at Ikkousha: thank you for the memories and the best bowls in the city. You'll be sorely missed! Note: For those still craving that specific broth, their Torrance locations are still holding it down--definitely worth the drive to keep the dream alive. Come back to OC! !

It's a little tight inside too with the tables located near each other. We came on a Monday during the lunch hour. We originally had plans to eat somewhere else, but it was too long of a wait and we decided to have Ramen instead. I think due to our party of six, it was a little harder to be seated, but it wasn't a big deal. We checked in and we were informed by Justin that it wouldn't take too long for our table to be ready as the other family who was at the larger table was already eating their food. Great! We meandered around in the center and walked inside Daiso and Mitsuwa market and already thinking about where we would be eating next time. We received a text when our table was ready about 30 minutes later. The nice lady who took our order was friendly, sweet, smiling and made us feel welcomed. We all ended up ordering different Ramen bowls, and curry with rice. We also shared the large fried chicken and furikake french fries. I'll have to try that at home next time! Everyone enjoyed their choices. I tried the light Kitakata ramen this time because I usually always get miso or Tonkotsu. The light broth was easier for me to handle and I was able to adjust the spice level with condiments on the table. I also used some of the chili spices from my family members. As usual, the chewy bouncy noodles were enjoyed by everyone. We will be back!

The yuzu and lemonade didn't overpower each other, and a nice touch of the mint leaf! Kei Coconut Ube had a nice taste to it.
