Food service and ambiance are a ten out of ten. This is the best gluten free vegan restaurant I have ever eaten at and the food was amazing. I had a shittaki ginger mushroom soup and a vegan smash burger with sweet potato fries all made fresh with all organic and locally sourced ingredients. My party had a gluten free Mac and cheese and a house burrito which tasted like heaven . This place looks good but sadly disappoints on all levels. I ordered the harvest bowl, which was so organic it came with a worm in it. These things can happen, but after letting the counter person know the chef needs to wash the salad better, the chef came out to stare at me and then sent the counter girl over to apologize on her behalf. No offer to remove it or replace it. My nephew ordered the pasta and it was lukewarm. My matcha latte was mediocre. I really wanted to love this place but nothing was right about it. I was in town, completely unfamiliar with this place and found this café. I love really healthy food and from the menu in the place. It looked like it was going to be healthy. Them huge menu so I had trouble ordering, deciding what to get. And I don't remember what I got. I got a bowl with beans vegetables. Maybe it's the Buddha bowl? Oh my gosh, it's so delicious. Super cute and charming spot. I ordered the Country Breakfast (~$19), which was delicious, filling and healthy. The scrambled "eggs" were savory and addictive, cooked with spinach (I think) and diced red pepper and onion. Hunks of sweet potato were luscious and a perfect complement to the scramble. The seed bread was great, too, and I appreciated the fresh elements (cherry tomato, avocado, greens). Only complaint was that the Beyond sausage was overcooked, but that's a very easy fix. Juice and smoothies were delicious. My favorite part was the AMBIENCE! This is the cutest, most magically decorated cafe I've been to outside of NY and LA. Magical fairy forest feel. I come here when I'm having a Ridgefield "main street" day and need some lunch. It's a lifesaver for gluten free and/or vegan people - mostly everything else on Main Street is pizza, burgers, etc. i like the chicken ceasar wrap here but need to try more things. The pulled mushrooms are really good. It is a little expensive but the portions are always huge and you are putting healthy organic ingredients into your body. Rent is also crazy in this area so I understand. The owner seems sweet and always serves the food directly to the customers and asks how they like it. I hope this place sticks around because it's where I'll always go for lunch if I'm in town! read more

I came for the GF cinnamon roll. I arrived at 10:30 am. The rolls weren't ready. I waited an hour. They said they would be ready in twenty minutes. I left to do some shopping and returned an hour later they still weren't ready. In the meantime I had purchased an orange cranberry muffin to take home. This was clearly stale. It was sandy and dry even melted butter didn't help it. Six dollars and ninety five cents for stale baked goods is a crime. Shame on you! On the plus side my friend's avo toast was good. As a long-time Vegan, I'm always excited to find a plant-based establishment. Upon walking in, you are immediately greeted with a smile from either the owner or her associates. The decor is pleasant and relaxing with ample seating. The food is amazing! It's all freshly made, served as a beautiful presentation with generous portions. I highly recommend the pancakes!! We stopped here on the way back from NY (to RI). Everything we had we loved! And that says a lot from people who can be picky about their vegan food. We had a Cesar wrap, a burger and a pulled mushroom sandwich with kimchi. All were excellent and satisfying. So happy to find that everything was gluten free. Today was our first time at Botanika Cafe and it was AMAZING. We got the Buffalo cauliflower wrap, butternut Mac and cheese, "tuna" melt sandwich, peanut butter chocolate cookie, and a chocolate-ish cake (last two not pictured). Everything was equally delicious, fresh, and clearly made with lots of care. The tables were also so beautifully decorated for Fall. I was going to be in southwest Connecticut for the day, so I looked up 'vegan' and 'gluten-free'. I was so happy to see that Botanika Cafe had just opened up and decided to drive up to Ridgefield to give it a try. Ordering was a tough decision because so much on the menu sounded mouthwatering. We went with the veggie dosa wrap, buddha bowl, and a few pastries (iced lemon loaf, raspberry muffin, and a cookie that I can't quite remember the name of - something usual like tahini sesame almond maybe). The entrees were so fresh and delicious and flavorful. I loved the homemade gluten-free wrap on the dosa. The sauce drizzled over the buddha bowl was amazing. The pastries were moist and delicious, including the unique cookie. All of the food was obviously made with care and attention. Friendly staff. Relaxed vibe. Order at the counter. The chef hand delivered the entrees to our table. I'm bummed I don't live closer because I want to go back and try so much more on the menu and also to support this new business. It's not often you can say delicious, lots of variety, affordable, vegan, gluten-free all in the same sentence when referring to a place to eat out. But you don't have to be vegan or gluten-free to enjoy a meal or treat here. You just need to appreciate fresh, healthy food made with care. read more

I used to love the place when it was Organika but this place is absolutely awful! I called directly since I have a severe banana allergy and I wanted a smoothie that did not have banana in it. The young girl could not seem to understand what I was saying and told me to just order from the "order online menu" because those were the only items they had. So I ordered the daal, the butternut squash mac and cheese and the mermaid mojito smoothie (since this was the only smoothie listed without banana). I received a text saying I was refunded for an item so I called them to see what was cancelled and why...was told it was the daal because they don't have it during the summer. Ok fine (not sure why it is on the menu I was told to order from then). I open the "butternut squash mac and cheese" but there is no butternut squash in it...so I called them... The girl was confused and told me that it is pasta, cashew cream and cashew cheese. I needed to explain to her that it was missing butternut squash and she would respond "there is no butternut squash in it". I asked her to please look at her online menu she told me to order from...BUTTERNUT SQUASH mac and cheese is listed with a picture of butternut squash on top of pasta. I offered to drive it back to her but she said she would refund the cost of the item...she never did and the plain mac and cheese is completely bland with old falling apart pasta (completely not edible). To top things off I saved the smoothie for this morning and despite no banana being listed in the ingredients it had banana in it! I immediately had to take benadryl to attempt to spare a trip to the hospital. My day is shot and I am getting sleepy from the benadryl but felt compelled to write this first in order to help spare others from going through the same experience! read more
