Welp, we had been members for quite some time. Very beautiful estate. Modern chic vibes. We have seen this place come a long way. We had been members prior the completion of the member's terrace. Went to visit recently and tried their new Spumante. Sweeter than past vintages. Tried several of their whites, all sweeter than past years. We were hoping for crisp and zippy, but unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the various whites we tried. Maybe this vintage is just not hitting like the years before. Based on the prices of the wine and it not really being what we want in wine, we dropped our membership. read more

There seems to be a blossoming trend in wineries, at least in Temecula, of exclusivity. It probably caters to the younger crowd. At Bottaia, the line between winery and Vegas club/ lounge merge. If this is for you- great, but it is not what I am looking for in a winery. We stopped by because we were staying a the nearby Ponte Inn. We've been members at Ponte for at least 10 years and love it there. The owner of Ponte also owns Bottaia and we thought we'd give it a try. We were greeted at the door by a nice man who asked us if we had reservations, which we did not, and he suggested we ask inside if there was availability. Being members at Ponte they actually had my information, but Ponte members do not get any perks at Bottaia. Members of Bottaia get perks at Ponte, but not the other way around- strange. We were initially told there was availability in about an hour, but they found us a table and asked us to wait in the waiting room. The place is very nice and everyone there treated us well. They showed us the members area and walked us to the large patio area that overlooks their vineyards. Other than the oppressive heat, it was actually quite nice. There is also a large pool and bar, similar to a Vegas pool party, but not quite as wild. The tasting came in a flight, and it was only OK. The wines actually reminded me a lot of what Ponte was a decade ago- young and unrefined. Over the years many of the wines at Ponte have improved significantly, but we love the restaurants and the Inn there more than the wines. The waiter told us that the two wineries share the same vineyards, but not the winemaking process. So it wasn't horrible, but I'm not sure I'm into this Vegas exclusive wine tasting experience where it's about the location and being noticed more than the wines. I definitely prefer wine tasting to be a more causal experience where the winemaker is selling me on the quality of the wines, rather than making me feel I am fortunate to experience them. I won't be going back, but hey- different strokes for different folks. read more

Celebrated my Bachelorette in Temecula and had the BEST time! Started my weekend at this winery for some wine tasting and then swimming in the pool. This is the only winery in Temecula that has a pool onsite. The tasting was awesome because there were so many new wines I got to try. As a former member let me tell you, I LEFT FOR A REASON. From a racist server who my son overheard saying the "hard R" in an Irish accent to hearing stories of their chef harassing nearly ever female employee. Quite honestly the only two redeeming factors are the wine and the view both are excellent but I can't say much else that's positive. I've even witnessed the owner tell hostesses to "put some makeup on". Even though I've had poor experiences with one of the hosts there (very rude tone speaking down to me and my family, I can't remember the name but she had pink hair) it's absolutely unacceptable for ownership to tell someone they need to wear makeup. Along with all of this anytime we would visit there was a new manager, not sure what goes on there but the place seems unstable and we will never support Bottaia or their sister property again. read more

We came across Bottaia a few months ago while cruising down Rancho California, showing my visiting parents the sights. We literally made the sharpest right turn possible without flipping the car when we spotted this new place that we'd never noticed/seen before. It's constructed in the now-popular farmhouse chic style which reeks of modernity and $$$. We walked in and were greeted by a check-in window with very pleasant people. Have to admit, we were a skosh intimidated by the poshness but soon the friendliness of the personnel put us at ease. We were seated in a prime spot in the middle of the patio, having forgone the tastings since we'd already had our fill. We decided to order glasses and get a snack. The place is gorgeous. Stunning. Go on a beautiful day and you'll feel like you're part of an oil painting. It's also relaxing, comfortable and the wines aren't half bad! Dad really enjoyed his glass of Montepulciano while I sipped enthusiastically on the Blush and finished up hubby's Late Harvest. On our latest visit (it was a short one to kill time while we waited for my mom to finish up at Pechanga), we opted for the patio again. Yes, it was warm but not so half bad in the shade. Only one of us got wine (me, duh) and it was a nice hour spent just enjoying the scenery and trying not to sweat. At some point, we'll try the swimming pool but day clubbing and heat isn't really our thing so we'll see! read more

This is the most gorgeous winery I've been to in Temecula. It's incredibly modern, with high, vaulted ceilings and a huge picture where you can see the entire landscape and vineyard. They exclusively make Italian varietals. We got a bottle and some glasses out on the patio and were seated in comfy chairs. It was incredibly relaxing to sip their crisp, white wine (I loved the Vermentino) while admiring the rolling hillsides from the back patio. Our server was perfectly attentive, checking up on us in a timely but not overly nosy manner. She had great recommendations and let me try a bunch of their whites to decide which one I liked best. Wonderful winery in the area. My husband and I were staying near by and passed this a few time. But it's such a gorgeous property we decided to actually give it a try. The staff quickly greeted us and were friendly. The wine was full flavored from start to finish and we enjoyed the well air conditioned tasting room on a blistering hot day. Their pool area looks fun and we'll think about trying that next time. Purchased a couple bottles of wine which we've enjoyed since. Overall great. Only taking off a star since we purchased something in the gift shop to find they were adding over a 100% markup over retail. Weird to treat your patrons like that. This is a beautiful modern winery in Temecula with a large backyard deck that has stunning views of their vineyard! They also have a separate pool area to lounge at in the summer time. I tried four of their red wines and my favorites were the Montepulciano and Sangiovese 2018. Of note, they do not have a lot of food options on their menu and its mainly appetizers so I would definitely recommend eating lunch beforehand. It also can get pretty chilly in the late afternoon even with heat lamps so I'd bring a jacket! Excited to come back in the summer to check out their pool lounging area! read more

So disappointed, we arrived towards the end of the day. We had a group of 25 and they could not accommodate seating us together, given there were MANY open seats available. This was our last stop with visitors from CO,CA, and AZ. We were ready to purchase multiple bottles of wine and enjoy the winery. Despite the few bad reviews... our experience at the pool was exceptional. Check-in went smooth and we found a great spot in the shade. About 50% of the chairs have shade and the other are in the sun so if you're there early you have your pick of seats. Our server Angeline was on top of it and super friendly despite being super busy. We got the hummus and the chicken tenders to eat at the pool and the food came out timely and was yummy. We got our welcome sangria and liked it so much that we purchased a carafe to drink while we were there. We ended up loving the wine in the sangria and bought two bottles of the white to take home. It's definitely a modern winery. the pool was closed when we visited. they have an outdoors area and an indoor room with high tables for non-members. We sat outside and the heater near us was not working, so we were pretty cold. The wines, although on the pricier side, are tasty. We each left with one bottle. Other than charcuterie boards, they don't really have a lot of food options. it's still a gorgeous location and I am glad they are 21+ so kids are not allowed. This one has mostly members only lounges. The tastings are small portions as well. The wine is good. The bottles range from $50-$80. The bottle decor is very cute. I was so disappointed when we arrived for our reservations. We made reservations for six two weeks in advance for my daughter's 24th birthday. Her grandparents flew in from out of town and we were excited to explore this winery together with them. When we called we asked a lot of questions because we wanted to sit and eat together while we sipped wine. I explained that this was the goal. The gal assured me we'd be seated in their main lounge which showed beautiful views of the vineyards. We could order some elaborate Charcuterie boards to complement the wine. PERFECT. Or so I thought. When we arrived to the very busy winery on Saturday, the host took my name for the reservation and then led us into a freezing barrel bar type room that was pretty crowded and pointed to a standing only bar that we could "stand" at. Ummm, excuse me. I made it very clear that we needed to be seated with elderly parents. We weren't here for the booze and socializing. She walked away for a minute and came back saying we could use a couple of the cocktail tables. They were close enough to each other. Yeah, thanks but no thanks. You guys promised me one thing over the phone and then totally could not deliver once we were there. That was really awful to do. I was very embarrassed and regretted talking this winery up before arriving. Not cool!! Luckily we called some other near by wineries explaining what just happened to us and one of them was happy to take us in and set us up with a beautiful view and actual food menu. We made a reservation for our group of 11 for lunch on Easter. The reservation process was super easy and the customer service was wonderful. I had also contacted another local winery and they never even called me back! So first impression: this place is stunning! Stark white, simple buildings with a background of blue skies and sprawling vineyards. As soon as we opened the car doors, we were immediately hit with the heavy scent of orange blossoms from the orchard. It was absolutely heavenly! We walked towards the pool area and got a super friendly greeting from the hostesses. We were seated in the pool cafe area which was empty. We ate most of our meal by ourselves and it felt like a private dining experience. The waitresses were excellent and the only hiccup was that they were out of gluten-free bread. They allowed us to choose another menu item with no charge for the difference. The combination of the orange blossom scent wafting through the area, the delicious food, and the overall ambience make this a five star winery for me. I would like to first start off by saying I've been coming to Temecula for years; each time has been a delightful experience. I've celebrated birthdays, Mother's Day, attended weddings, and even celebrated an engagement just last month in this beautiful wine region. With that being said, I have never encountered such a negative and uncouth experience like I did when I visited Bottaia. I was excited to visit this winery because it's the sister winery of Ponte (which I adore). Wine: Was not impressed with their white or red selections. Our server was super kind and allowed me to skip the whites and go straight to the reds during my tasting. Everyone's palate is different but these wines just didn't sit well with me. They did not smell or taste good. I was highly disappointed from that alone. Decor: Decor is nice. It's social media worthy I would say lol. Staff: We were in town on a Saturday so it was a steady crowd. Our server in the barrel room was great! I cannot remember her name but she was a gem. Very patient and informative. Outside of the barrel room however, was another story that I am happy to share so others will think twice before adding Bottaia to their list of wineries to support. The winery manager Sharlee Martin, who goes by Shar, and the security personnel, Randy, were two of the most bigoted individuals I have encountered at any winery across the world. I've been to wineries in over three continents and I have never been treated how I was treated on Saturday. Given today's climate of hate and discrimination, I honestly feared my freedom would be taken away from me because these two individuals could not see past their biases and prejudices. During a miscommunication, they went straight into "Karen" mode and decided to call the police, spew lies saying my group was chasing her, yelling, being aggressive, and not cooperating all because we were confused as to what had transpired. At one point, I was standing directly next to Sharlee Martin, as she's on the phone with the authorities saying "Please hurrying they're chasing me please I'm scared...they're being very aggressive." This is the point where I feared for my life--it's moments like these that can change someone's life forever. We've seen it countless times in the media where a person of color is walking their dog or running for exercise in their neighbor and someone of a different race is uncomfortable; they result into victimizing themselves, calling the authorities, or in some cases murdering that person. The craziest part of this whole experience is that our awesome server and two of the hostesses highly recommended that we reach out and file an official complaint. They even provided us with the full names and emails of the winery manager Sharlee, and the tasting room manager Sam because they saw how unfairly we were treated and how unwarranted their behavior was towards us. Why would their own staff approach us, apologize on their behalf, and provide us the first and last names of the winery manager and tasting room manager (who was not on site that day) if we were in fact being "disruptive, disturbing other guests, refusing to comply, harassing, and threatening." Hmm... At the end of the day, this review will only help out a few and that is why I took the time to express what truly happened. I know the person who responds to reviews from Bottaia will copy and paste some statement they came up with to not make it seem like they were in the wrong. I would greatly appreciate it if Bottaia would actually take the time to reach out to us and apologize for the behavior of their employees and come up with a permanent solution on how to treat ALL people at ALL times. As people of color, we must take situations like this very seriously. I would not recommend this winery to anyone who believes in love and kindness to all. If you are interested in a more inviting winery and you also love reds like myself, please visit Wiens Winery (down the street from Bottaia). We ended our night there and had a fantastic experience. The servers were awesome, the wine was perfect, and I felt completely safe. Cheers everyone! read more

Upon our departure they made accommodations for another group of six right next to us, sat them together and to add insult to injury they turned on the heater. It's a very modern winery compared to others in the wine country area. The soft music and smell are reminiscent of a spa which definitely isn't a bad thing. The deck is very large with tables and chairs, as well as outside chairs with cushions. All overlook the vineyard and there are heading lamps should it be cold or you visit later in the day. There is plenty of parking, and the bathrooms are very clean! The wines definitely cater to those who prefer dry wines, but they do offer 2 on the sweeter side. Their charcuterie board is amazing! I could eat the crackers all day. Our host Claudio was nice and knowledgeable about the area which I appreciate as a first timer. They offer flights on the deck (our experience of choice), a private tasting, as well as blending your own wine. The location also has a pool open during the later spring and summer season. Overall, a good experience. I would definitely visit if you're about full bodied, dry wines. read more
