I want to give 5 stars, but there is one element here that for me makes it a 4 star rating. Having said that it may be why someone else gives it a 5. My reason for the 4 stars is because they don't allow anyone under 18 which I didn't know when we signed up for the wine club. The grounds are gorgeous, the wait staff has immaculate manners and they are super personable. Did I mention the wine? The wine is so good. I am a red wine drinker and their Montepulciano is so so good! I also love their Anglianco. If you like they have plenty of yummy choices. read more

First off, please know the my objection is not that this place is not dog friendly. I understand there are limitations and I have the utmost respect for this boundaries. However, you should really make that more clear - you're listed as a "dog friendly" location, not just service animals. It would have been really nice if you let me notify the people I was with that I was getting kicked out of the place before you escorted me out. I didn't make a fuss and I understood this was not a dog for fly place, I have no issue with giving my $$ to other places. We have a dog in a wheelchair, so we purposely planned out our trip accordingly so he could come along. This was not a great start, but fortunately there were so many other better options for us. If you don't want people coming in with dogs, I would advise that you add "service animals only" - you don't even have those signs posted on your buildings. read more

So we have been coming to the pool at this winery for many years but stopped going because of the staff and leadership. We decided to go again today and they have done a complete 360. Donovan the Manager is one of the best Managers they have ever had there. He takes good care of the customers and treats them like family. Our waiter was Hunter S just ask for him when u go there when I say a waiter or waitress is on top of things, Hunter takes into another level. He takes excellent care of his customers, great vibe, great personality. He is probably one of the best we have ever had. We also met William the lifeguard he is very personable and does a great job and assists any guests that need help. The staff is amazing from the front desk, to all the servers, so many to choose from ( Bernadette, Alayna, Claudio, Tyler, Frank, Juliana, the list goes on!) and Shar, love her! I visited this winery last weekend and it is one of my favorites in Temecula. We had a reservation for the deck but upon arrival we were informed it was closed for emergency repair. This was disappointing as we were looking forward to the view but the rest of the experience made up for it. Our server was Alayna, she was so friendly and knowledgeable. Came with some friends that were wine club members so I can't speak to costs but this place definitely seems to be on the fancier side. The actual space is GORGEOUS and tasting on the back patio gets you some amazing views. For our tasting we could choose any four wines that we wanted and they have the full range of whites to reds. I chose all reds and liked most of them! We also got the hummus which tasted pretty mediocre but it came with a bunch of veggies and pita which is nice. Ended up deciding to buy a bottle of the 2017 sangiovese that we really enjoyed. You order at the table and then you pick it up on the way out. They give you a fancy wine box to take it home in which is a nice touch. Service was wonderful the whole time we were there. read more

This winery is beautiful but don't let that fool you. It is horribly overpriced and the quality is not there. We tried several of the wines, the charcuterie board and all of the desserts. It was all disappointing. I was there with a group of 12 and none of us liked it. When the charcuterie board came out they told me that there were four cheeses on the board and I was like where? I wish I would've taken a photo of it. It was $34 and there were four tiny little pieces of cheese. The cheese was also generic grocery store variety. Like I can buy better precut cheese at Trader Joe's. The rest of the board was basically olives, almonds, some kind of weird caper berries, a couple slices of cured meat and a couple crackers and pieces of bread. And I can't even with those cannolis. The cannolis were $15 apiece, you got three tiny little ones that were obviously frozen and recently defrosted. The cannoli shell was totally soggy and the filling was only bland and sugary. WTF?! It's a bummer because the grounds really are incredible and the service was excellent. I wanted to like it more. They also act like you have to be a member to get some great exclusive experience but there was barely anyone there on a Thursday in high season. We had a couple friends that were over by the pool and we just wanted to go sit down and have a drink with them, none of us had bathing suits with us but they wouldn't allow us to unless we paid $35 apiece. That would've been understandable if the pool area had been busy but there were like maybe 10 people in that huge area. It was a ghost town. Another thing that was crap was that when I made the reservation for the party of 12 they did tell us that they don't seat parties larger than eight so they split the tables into two. There was barely anyone else on the tasting deck and they told us we weren't allowed to move any of the furniture around. Then when the check came they also said they didn't allow separate checks but nobody told us that from the get-go. We went to Europa winery earlier in the day and didn't have any of these issues. I hope they get their program together because it would be a shame to see such a beautiful property not succeed but they are not going to be able to survive charging those prices and giving that kind of experience in the long run. read more

Hubby, daughter and I drove to Temecula on the advice of a friend for our wedding anniversary. She recommended Bottaia and we were very pleased with the experience. Claudio guided us through our first wine tasting experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The charcuterie pairings with the different wines were top notch. Our experience started with a quick tour and overview of the winery. The barrel room is cold so heads up to anyone reserving an experience there. The tasting room was comfortable, well lit and inviting. We will definitely return the next time we're in CA. Loveeee this winery!! Seriously magnolia vibes! It's absolutely gorgeous here and the atmosphere is wonderful. All their staff were wonderful and helpful. I recommend making a reservation on a weekend, they were very busy. Luckily a table was available and we were able to sit outside. We order flights which come with four tastings that cost us $18. Soo refreshing on a summer day. I was a fan of their Fiano, Arneis, and the Late Harvest wine!!! I can't wait to come back to try their other wines and make a reservation to swim at the pool. My Grandpa and I started a tradition early this year to go to a different winery every week (we are both foodies). We have been to a handful of different wineries and Bottaia has been our #1 so far. What sold us was Bottaia's hospitality and amazing wine expert, Bernadette. Immediately upon entering Bernadette approached us and showed us around. She let us take a look at the cafe menu and also sat us outside at a beautiful table. She was so sweet, had such a vibrant personality and has a ton of knowledge about every single aspect of this winery. Within minutes we signed up to become members. If you're looking for quiet, high end, date day, romantic, this is your spot. You get an opportunity to be in the vineyard. The food is small and good. The cost of the winery is one of the higher ones I've been to but it's worth it. Great location. Only issue is you can't just walk in and walk over to a bar for a drink. Loved this place.. so so gorgeous and beautifully nestled amidst the vineyards. Sadly our initial experience was a bit warped. A bit of long story but will try to keep it short. We had made reservations for a table of 6 perhaps like two weeks in advance. When we arrived there, one of our friends decided to take membership of Bottaia for $200 for a quarter. On being escorted to our table, we realized they gave us seating of four and two separately. On asking the server if we could combine the two tables, he refused quoting social distancing reasons. We asked him if we could get another table of six as we had reserved in advance, we just took membership and we would like to sit together. His exact reply was we don't have availability, if it was him with his friends he wouldn't care where who sat and he also had the audacity to tell us that we are new members. Not sure if he was having a bad day but you don't need to be in the service industry if you don't have basic etiquettes to talk. Anyway the manager was a nice lady who came and apologized. We didn't want to discuss this further and spoil our evening so we let it go, sat separately and enjoyed our evening. Everything was perfect post the initial glitch...we enjoyed our wines, bought a few bottles, loved the cheese -meat board appetizers and the view of gorgeous sprawling vineyards. read more

The service here is really going down hill even for members. I came in with a party of 4 on Sunday January 28th 2024. I came in at 1 o'clock and this place was empty and was told by the person at the front desk that it was going to take 30 minutes to get table in the members lounge or wait 3 hours to sit in the non member lounge when literally this place was empty! The front desk staff was rude and for the amount of money i pay I would think I would get better service. Really enjoyed my visit today! The view was beautiful and while I came midday on a Saturday they were able to seat me within 15 minutes. The winery was beautiful - they have a lot of different spaces including their outdoor deck, a members only terrace, indoor seating, a Barrell room, and a pool (seasonal). Came in with my dad was having a nice calm time very rude waitress made an issue about my age, i'm 32 years old and somehow thats too young to be there. Just came to have a nice sit down. Will NOT BE RETURNING AND WE ARE MEMBERS‍. We just came to relax not get harassed and get my rights violated. Looking at the other negative comments I should've known. We are members and we still get treated with disrespect. This winery is definitely underrated. It is not crowded at all and their service is great! Our server was very thorough in explaining the selection of wines and she was extremely personable. The ambiance was great and so was the food. We ordered their veggies and hummus, but our fave was definitely the caprese salad. The cheese used was so delectable and melted in your mouth. The server explained that it was goat cheese, it was intense but had the right amount of tang to pair with their tomatoes. There are many wineries in the Temecula Valley, but this is a standout! Once you pass through the front walkway you are treated to glistening vineyards as far as you can see. i was treated to a tour of the barrel room, tasting room and the outdoor area for Wine Club members. Each was unique and special. They have a beautiful pool area, with private showers, cabanas and a full service restaurant. Hunter, our server took extra care in meeting every request. If you only have time to visit one winery in Temecula, visit this one. You will not be disappointed. read more

I wanted to give an update on our latest experience at Bottaia. We went a few Saturdays ago and had a much better experience. First of all, the manager June (see below) reached out via Yelp. We also heard from Juliet via email after our second visit. Being reached out to is a nice way for a business to try to rectify the situation and is much appreciated. I made reservations for our visit and we were seated quickly at a two top outside. It was quite windy and they had some shades pulled down that helped create a little bit of a wind break. Our server Mike approached quickly and brought some almonds and olives, which we never got the first time. My husband wasn't sure which wine he wanted and Mike made some suggestions and brought a few for him to taste so he could make a decision. My husband chose his wine and Mike brought our selections quickly. He was very pleasant and continued to check on us throughout our visit. Nothing obtrusive, just periodically checking in. We did hear some music playing which was nice, but it could have been a little louder. We didn't hear any at all when my friends and I were there, so this was an improvement nonetheless. I do wish they had more food options to choose from. I mentioned to Mike that we had a nice experience and that I hadn't had the best experience the first time. He apologized and apparently went one step further to mention my comment to Juliet who sent us an email apologizing. This was great customer service. As you can see from the pictures I posted, this is an absolutely gorgeous winery. I'm hopeful that our future experiences will be just as good. read more

Stopped by today for the first time with a group of 5 after having stopped at 3 different winery's prior. My friends and I all were tasting and purchasing wine bottles for the new year. One couple in attendance had a 6 month old sleeping baby. Only at this winery they wouldn't us in the tasting room due to the baby. The bouncer (why they had one made no sense) said everyone must be 21 years or older. Keep in mind it was a sleeping baby in a carrier. Also keep in mind that at every other winery none had an issue and we also saw people with other children as well. Keep in mind that every other vineyard also had the same 21 and over signs and had no issues with us. Sad as we were all really looking to get a bottle here. They should be smart enough to know the difference between children who run around and babies who wouldn't be taxing their staff at all. read more

What an awesome experience. We stopped here on a whim while heading home from the beach. I remembered seeing it while it was being built and always wanted to check it out. It's one of the most unique winery's I've been to in the area. We noticed they had a pool area and decided to check it out, you can go swimming for the day, grab dinner or just a drink by the pool. They also have a very nice tasting room filled with fun activities like food and wine pairing. Also fun fact, drinks are half off on the weekdays. Welp, we had been members for quite some time. Very beautiful estate. Modern chic vibes. We have seen this place come a long way. We had been members prior the completion of the member's terrace. Went to visit recently and tried their new Spumante. Sweeter than past vintages. Tried several of their whites, all sweeter than past years. We were hoping for crisp and zippy, but unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the various whites we tried. Maybe this vintage is just not hitting like the years before. Based on the prices of the wine and it not really being what we want in wine, we dropped our membership. read more

As a former member let me tell you, I LEFT FOR A REASON. From a racist server who my son overheard saying the "hard R" in an Irish accent to hearing stories of their chef harassing nearly ever female employee. Quite honestly the only two redeeming factors are the wine and the view both are excellent but I can't say much else that's positive. I've even witnessed the owner tell hostesses to "put some makeup on". Even though I've had poor experiences with one of the hosts there (very rude tone speaking down to me and my family, I can't remember the name but she had pink hair) it's absolutely unacceptable for ownership to tell someone they need to wear makeup. Along with all of this anytime we would visit there was a new manager, not sure what goes on there but the place seems unstable and we will never support Bottaia or their sister property again. read more
