Bakersfield is the one city I've passed by on the way either to LA or SF, but never to stop by and stay overnight until recently. Being driven back from the Grand Canyon having spent nearly a week camping with some awesome people from SJSU, we were informed we were staying at a Super 8 motel overnight to take hot showers and sleep on beds (one week of camping will do that). I had search on Google for coffee nearby and saw this "Bikini Bottom Coffee" shop pop up and yes, I was intrigued of a coffee shop with bikini clad baristas. But it was getting late and we had an early departure for San Jose the next day so I bookmarked this place just in case the free coffee and breakfast offering at the motel did not speak to me (it was terrible...). The morning of the departure, I got up early and it was just a 1-minute walk there and they have two(?) drive by lanes for cars to pull up to order. You can also just walk up to order. Aside from the obvious -- baristas in bikinis taking your order, they have an extensive list of coffee drinks and souvenirs you can buy. Given I need my morning cup of coffee, I opted for the House Blend Bue Coffee and their French toast breakfast sandwich. My verdict? The coffee was alright. I have had better coffee, but given my choice of free (gross) coffee at Super 8 vs my bikini coffee, the latter was a much better solid choice. The French toast breakfast sandwich was heavy with sausage, bacon, and eggs if you are a meat lover. Customer service was excellent so I will give them props for being patient with me while deciding what to order. Overall, it's a good coffee pit stop (if Dutch Bros isn't around) with good customer service vibes (and no, it is not what you think lol). read more

I wanted to go to Beanies but being that it was the day after Christmas, they were closed. The next closest was Bottoms up Espresso, the Hooters of coffee shops. Not sure what kind of beans they use here but something tells me they're of the Folgers variety. If you're looking for espresso, this ain't the place. It looks like they make Red Bull mixed drinks so if that's more your speed then I suppose give Bottoms Up a try. I will never understand why places that have "espresso" in the business name, don't take care to make sure their espresso is at very least drinkable. read more

I got the Sexy Latina while my brother got the Sweet Señorita. My brother's coffee was good but honestly, thinking about the service, taste of drink, and portion of the drink..it's okay. The Sexy Latina was not good in my opinion, it lacked taste. The wait was also long since there was only one barista working. read more

Decided to give it a try but ultimately it's just not for me. I was in the mood for something new and I decided to try one of their red bull mixes. The staff is friendly, I was greeted upon pulling in and took my order. I tried the Island Girl, first of all it was over $10 for a large so it's a pretty hefty price tag. Secondly it's so full of syrup flavoring that I didn't even really taste the red bull at all. I'm not against flavoring up a drink, I like the Rebels at Dutch Bros but this was much sweeter and just overwhelming. It's really pricy for a drink I just didn't enjoy, not for me but to each their own. read more

Espresso with a big surprise! I was driving through Bakersfield to Las Vegas and needed some wake-me-up caffeine. So, I drove towards where I thought I remembered a drive-through coffee shop of a certain brand (It was not Bottoms Up!), and I pulled over as soon as I saw the drive-through. I was pulling out my cell phone and looking around while waiting for the window to open when I noticed signs asking customers not to take photos without permission. I thought that was odd when the window opened, and a young lady dressed in lingerie with a big smile asked me what I wanted! I've been here a few times since they've opened. I had never been to Hooters, I haven't been to any of the strip clubs we have here in town, never had the pleasure of dining at Tilted Quilt or Twin Peaks. However Bottoms Up is a place that you can enjoy going to, because Bottoms Up espresso isn't just coffee, energy drinks and microwaved food. The people that work here are what bring a smile to everyone's face. Many of you may argue that it's not decent for women to dress a certain way or to be subjected to the gaze of others, however these women choose to work here. They are confident and comfortable in their skin. They take the skill set of a batista, the patience of being a cashier and mix all together in a cup of quality service and friendly attitude. Every interaction I've had with the ladies that work here has always been positive. I feel like if the ladies didn't want to work here they wouldn't have applied. They go in knowing the dress code, they go in knowing the type of customers they could possibly get. And yet they still give good recommendations on drinks, they don't make you feel rushed, they maintain a friendly and positive environment. It's a small drive-thru on a busy intersection and usually a small staff juggling it all. I applaud these ladies on their hard work and friendliness. This place is such an amazing coffee stand. The ladies who work there are so pretty and amazingly sweet. I drive up and down CA and always stop through since it's so easy to get to off the freeway. The girls are always welcoming and really great to get to know. They have fun themes everyday that the ladies get so creative. Kayla is my favorite. She can always make my day better. We always have great talks and she is so amazingly sweet. If you need a ray of sunshine stop by and say hello. It's a great place to hangout and talk with the girls if they are not too busy. I usually make my own coffee at home, but when I'm in a hurry and need a really good Java, I go to this establishment. The atmosphere is pleasant pulling up, menus are easy to read. The woman working there are super cool, and easy on the eyes. The girls actually know the coffee. I ordered a Blonde Monkey, and my server Chase recommended options to add and Chase also recommended adding whey. Everything balanced out great. Not only did I get a good Java, but my protein after a good workout. Thank you Chase, I'll be back. BTW, it is drive thru only and they have 2-windows, with easy on and off the freeway 99. read more

I ordered the banana coffee , I forget the name. the barista girl suggested I try it blended, and I also substituted white coffee for my expresso. it was SO good, definitely sweet if you're that kind of person. for me it was perfect I came with an open mind with no particular craving, the banana was perfect and I enjoyed most that it was blended I think it made it even better! drive through was easy to get in and out, and wait wasn't long. 10/10 read more

I got a strawberry drink and when i went to go drink it, it was clearly rotten, the smell was of tomatoes and racid fruit. The young lady just told me point blank she cannot do anything for me. Which is all you need to know about the standard of this business. Many other great options around town, if you like looking at young prettty girls then this is the place for you.
