My order sat behind the counter for 10 minutes, and I had to ask if it was ready. I was then told it was missing an item and that they expected me to ask where my order was despite having an order pick up area it was expected to be in. The man working then told me I was "being very rude" when I told him I had no way to know it was missing an item and wouldn't be ready for pickup as expected. I work in customer service and would never tell a customer to listen to me because they are being rude. The fact that they are so disorganized and expect the person waiting to know to ask to resolve an order error is incredibly sloppy, and to tell them they are rude when you are not even fulfilling the order properly is unacceptable. read more

I try to like the Boudin bakery sites, even this revitalized one in the Corte Madera shopping mall, well almost. When Boudin bread comes fresh from the oven the flavors and textures are tempting. Crunchy exterior, poofy moist innards. My chief complaint is that Boudin breads have very short flavor shelf life. Six hours after taken from the oven Boudin breads become chewy, gummy sourdough stomach bombs. I've had Boudin sandwiches once or twice over the past 10 years, I do not seek them out as there are so many much better places to eat this kind'a thing. Cafe Z in nearby Greenbrae comes to mind. And if you're just after a loaf of good European style bread, Grace baking, Semifreddi's, La Farine or Acme blow Boudin away. read more

Used to eat here all the time when I worked in the mall. Best parts of this eatery: Located in a great area-- love the shops near by. Customer Service is always so friendly.. I know people might think 4 stars for a chain??? Well, it is a chain, but they do a good job. The food comes out fast and let's you keep your day going for some shopping. Very consistent, and some of their entrees are really delicious. They could work on keeping the place cleaner. Online ordered 2 tomato soup bread bowls at 2:30 pm, said it would not be ready of pick up until 2:50 pm. Arrived at 2:55 pm and there was nothing at the pick up counter. I've been to this spot countless times over the years and it's always a safe bet for some quick food. Summary: The food is generally consistent, and the sourdough bread is good (although sometimes a little tough). It's a good place to go for a quick bite while shopping. Highlights: The soup in a bread bowl is great, particularly Saturday's Roasted Garlic Tomato soup-of-the-day. The club sandwich and the chicken pesto sandwich are good (but the chicken is strangely cold usually). Combos are perfect for trying different things (such as soup and salad, or half sandwich and soup) Unfortunately, the salad options are lacking in both choices and flavor. Atmosphere: This is where the restaurant lacks the most. The interior is commercial looking and like it's been mass produced. I asked what the most popular hot sandwich was and they said it was the chicken club, so I got the chicken club and it was good. We also got butternut squash soup in bread bowl, which tasted fine -- a little sweet for my own taste so perhaps I don't know how to appreciate it. I later got the clam chowder bread bowl and the clam chowder was... aight. Not THAT good. Bread bowl was big and dense, which is nice. Chicken club sandwich was good. Did I say that already? Bread is crunchy and holds together well as you bite into it. Restrooms need more attention and some more ventilation. BEWARE EMPLOYEE SCAM!!! They ran my credit card twice, said it didn't go through. I sat down to eat and my credit card company pinged me and said "did you charge $17.81 two times? I looked at my receipt it was one time, but they only gave me one receipt. I showed them my credit card online printout of the two charges in a row for the same amount 15 seconds apart. They wouldn't refund me, but instead offered a phone number to their accounting department. I called the number and someone said "hello?". I had to ask "is this Boudin's Accounting department?" "Uh, yeah". I told her the story, she kept yelling "HELLO? HELLO?" Geez lady, this is 2018 and I have Verizon and I'm sitting in your restaurant. Doesn't the corporate office have good telephones? She kept explaining to me about how she doesn't have the machine to see the charges at each location, so she called the manager here. Finally the manager comes out with my refund, HOWEVER, feels the need to explain again that because I only got one receipt that she thinks I didn't get charged twice. No, "I'm sorry" or anything. I just spent by my whole lunch break on the phone w corporate and arguing with a Boudin's manager about a lousy seventeen dollars woopdee-doo! I was sitting next to a woman from Nordstrom who was appalled at the lack of customer service. I mean, if I look like I needed the seventeen bucks maybe I should dress nicer or something. Truth is, I don't need it and I don't need to go back there. I think foul play may be involved because they insisted "there's no way of knowing, we can't look at any previous transactions"!!! I was a little confused since there was no one else in the restaurant at that time. I told her i thought that was my order but that my number was different. She said oh ok and handed my food. The order was a little wrong. I had paid EXTRA for it to be in a bread bowl and not regular bowl. I told her but couldn't show receipt since the cashier never gave me one. She was very nice and gave me a bread bowl! The food was truly tasting but the cashier really got under my skin. After my friends and i he kept giving other people the wrong order number and making very rude comments about customers to other co workers. I was very impressed with this location, the service was quick and friendly, the tables clean, outside seating area well kept with plenty of heat lamps, and the wait staff are just wonderful; I felt very welcome dropping by with my fiancee for some soup in a bread bowl. I thought it was a very nice touch how they seasoned and toasted the bread for the chicken pot pie bread bowl, but they did not do that for the clam chowder; next time I would ask them to season the bread bowl regardless of order. I just ordered food here about 30 mins ago. I ordered online while at work and then gave my boyfriend a copy of my order that I printed and he went to get it. They did not include my chips or his chips with the order and couldn't find my order because they were reading my last name and only half of my last name was printed on the receipt. The guy serving us brought the sandwhich and never brought the 2 bread bowl clam chowders. We got up and asked if they were ever going to bring it and then they realized who the soups belonged to. They were just sitting on the counter of the kitchen and they were going to just leave them there and never figure out who they were supposed to go to. Terrible service! Needs a new manager. We were there this Sunday around 1:20 PM after coming from the Apple store. There were a few people ahead of us, and we waited for about 40 minutes in line! There was only one cashier, taking the orders. This is a weekend, they should have more cashiers and people taking orders. A few people who have been sitting down, waiting for their food to come, got up to the cashier to ask 'when is my food coming?'. It seems, after sitting down they have to wait again for another 30 minutes . My husband was very upset, and after seeing all this and waiting in line for a long time , we decided to eat somewhere else. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, just around the corner, and we were seated in 10 minutes. Our food came in about 15 minutes, no problems. I loved boudin however these last trips (4 or 5 times) have been absolutely horrible. The service was horrendous, and waited 35 minutes or more for our order. Then once received our order they had messed up the tuna salad sandwich by putting chicken instead and then put avocado on a burger we persistently asked not for. Now thankfully none of us are allergic to avocado however if someone had a nut allergy this is when their laziness becomes dangerous. The menu is limited with little to no gluten free options. You order and pay in advance and get the food delivered at the table. We went for the half soup and half sandwiches (only non-hot sandwiches). For an extra $1 you can get a sourdough bread bowl.
