I've been a big fan of this lovely local bakery since it first opened in 2015. Here are 5 reasons why: 1) Their bread is baked fresh daily, with a rotating menu of daily bread specials. On top of that, you can make a meal out of your visit Boulangerie, either with a cuppa soup from their soup du jour, or a yummy baguette sandwich. Also, panzanella salad and chicken salad options. SO good. 2) Their sweet options are also to die for. Cookies, muffins, scones, cute little chocolate "hot dogs" and mini-cupcakes for when you're feeling mini-naughty. 3) Low-gluten options! 4) Sweet, friendly and knowledgeable staff and owners. Just really lovely people. 5) Their location is great. It's directly behind the Waterhouse Center if you're roaming Main St on foot, and has an easily accessible parking lot if you're driving. Wow! Whoa! Oh wowieee! We are from Portland and decided to take a day trip to Kennebunkport for the day. Upon further Yelping, this place immediately caught my eye, and I'm beyond happy I did. We entered through the back door to a beautifully designed interior. The smell of yeast and butter catch your senses. As we decide on what to order they talk us through all of there options. We ordered a blueberry turnover (fantastic) a croissant (flaky,buttery, YUM) and a sourdough loaf (PHEWIE) on top of all of that they gave us a complimentary piece of their fleshy baked quiche (soft,smoky,crispy crust). This is a place where pure happiness and bliss is made with a little bit flour dust and butter. Stop what you're doing and go, just go. You'll thank your senses and palate later. read more

My husband and I shared a cinnamon roll and the spinach quiche-both were delicious! He's not normally a fan of quiche but he actually enjoyed this one! The cinnamon roll was large and well priced. The cappuccino was not the greatest but we were willing to let that slide as everything else was wonderful. The building looks like a barn from the outside and I loved the farmhouse decor inside. This is a terrific local bakery. They have great breads, baked daily of course, and their baguette is really, really good. On weekends, or in the Summer, you have to get there fairly early before they sell out. The owners, Amy and Zach, have really built a community at this bakery. There is comfortable seating inside, and outside patio seating during the warmer months. It is a great place to meet a friend for coffee and a snack. It is also right downtown in Kennebunk's upper village, so you can stop in there conveniently. In the Summer and early Fall, the Saturday farmer's market is just a short walk away. read more

Great little spot tucked back from the main downtown area (behind the ice rink). Fresh baked breads, croissants, cookies, quiches and more! Hands down the best ciabatta I've ever had. A proper bakery, indeed. The quality and variety of breads are the main attraction, IMHO, but they do a great job with muffins, scones and quiches as well. Worst bakery in Kennebunk. We ordered a gross pizza (Ham, Cheese and Sausage) and beef pie pastry (Beef & Ale). The gluten free pizza wasn't warm. The tap water cost $2.50 and tasted horrible. The place was dreary and the food selection was minimum. I guess the people that rated this place were friends or family. Will never come here again. Don't buy from this place. This is hands down the best bakery! We had the ham and cheese croissant, quiche was delicious, and we split a lemon filled pastry..crisp,flaky crust, and the lemon filling is perfection. They have fresh baked breads, chocolate and almond croissants...we wanted one of each! Definitely recommend if you are the Kennebunk area...the only open Wednesday through Saturday until 1:00 due to short staffing...but definitely will be returning when in the area. read more

I've given this place multiple tries because I want it to be good (atmosphere is great) but it's just not what it should be. The deserts I've tried (most recently a cupcake) was flavorless and over dense, The bread was stale and the pizza was plain and on, what seemed to be, left over focaccia bread. So, this place is fantastic. An adorable interior with a communal table as well as comfy chair seating, tea/coffee, and delicious French pastries -- what more could you want? They're also very accommodating and will take pastry orders for the next day if they are currently out of certain items (which they sadly were when my family walked in today after 12pm). Today I enjoyed a chicken meat pie pasty and a bite of my mother's seasalt fougasse (only a bite because she claimed the rest of it!). I'm a sucker for baked goods. This is a little gem tucked just behind the ice rink on Main Street. When you walk in to this restored barn, you'll see a few seats straight ahead where you can sit and enjoy a coffee & pastry or a sandwich or maybe some homemade soups. On their Facebook page they list the specials in each category for that day. After you enter, turn left and there's the main bakery counter. Oh my...fresh baked breads (boules, baguettes, rolls etc), quiche, cookies, and my fave...almond croissant. This is a real treasure and the people of Kennebunk are lucky to have it. We were in Kennebunk for the first time and really had no expectations for food/drink. Boulangerie was far-and-away the best experience we had. Mrs. Peterson's Coffee Cake made every other coffee cake in the world null-and-void and the almond croissant and everything croissant were absolute perfection. Literal, metaphorical, and transcendental perfection. I can't imagine what life was like before eating these euphoric treasures of buttery heaven. I literally cannot remember. Stopped by this wonderful bakery based on a recommendation we received while visiting Ogunquit. We visited with our family of six and enjoyed this quaint little bakery. The positives: The staff is amazing (super friendly and patient while we tried to decide what to choose!), the apple turnover was delicious, as was the chowder, quiche, pizza and cinnamon roll. The negatives: the special breads of the day were anadama and challah. We bought both and enjoyed them that evening. The anadama bread was very good (not excellent) but the challah was a disappointment. It was dry and pretty flavorless. The scone (pecan apricot) was also dry and flavorless (if there really was fruit, we couldn't taste it). All in all, we would definitely return. We just couldn't give it a 5. read more
